Problems with 2008 Toyota Camry VISIBILITY

The driver's side sun visor will not stay up or down making it a safety issue while driving. it cannot be moved out of your line of vision short of removing the entire visor. this should be made into a recall issue due to the unsafeness. *tr

My brakes needed replacing at approx. 40-44k miles. my belts/water pump broke/cracked at approx 50k miles. the mechanic said the water pump, if it ever broke at all, shouldn't break till min. 100k miles. i am about to take the camry to a mechanic to check engine racing and grinding front passenger side window motor. this car has been a money pit with awful visibility. i've spent many thousands on this car before it reach 50k miles. *tr

Both driver and passenger sun visors are defective and no longer function properly which causes obstruction of view and dangerous driving conditions. the visors are still connected but for some reason, droop horribly and will not stay in their proper positions. on 8/23/11 as i was driving in morning traffic, the visor came down and obstructed my view. when i attempted to move it to the side, the entire visor came off. *tr

With less than 18,000 miles on it both sun visors on my 2008 toyota camry have broken. in checking one of them i found a broken piece of plastic in it that caused it to fail. i did not have to remove the visors but did use a large binder clip to squeeze them back together so they stay up but cannot put them down in circumstances where i need to use them. if i leave them down my visibility is severely impaired. *tr

In my 2008 toyota camry, both sun visors suddenly broke within a few days of each other and now hang straight down. it blocks the drivers vision, and the only way to drive is with one hand holding up the drivers side visor. this is obviously not very safe and of course one can only hold their arm above their head for so long - so no long trips in this car. the toyota dealer said the car is out of warranty (i bought it new 40 months ago) and charges $130 each to replace them (they can't be repaired). i even have their extended warranty, but the extended warranty company said the visors are excluded, because of the huge number of complaints about them. a quick internet search reveals that a lot of other people have had the same problem. *tt

First my passenger sun visor would not stay in the upright position (the position that its put in when not in use). my brother had it in the downward position to keep the sun out of his eyes and then when he tried to put it back up the coil/spring popped and it just hung down and refused to stay put up. a few days later when i was getting into my car i noticed my driver's side sun visor was now hanging just like the passenger sun visor. i went to put it up and then i heard the coil/spring pop and then the visor completely fell off. *tr

I bought this vehicle in may of this year as a certified vehicle. the sun visor on the driver's side will not stay in the "up" position though i have never had to be forceful when adjusting it. the visor hangs down and interferes with my driving, especially at night, and i have resorted to removing it completely. my impression in that this visor is defective and the toyota dealership warranty does not cover it.

Around july 17th or 18th, my driver side visor broke and would not stay up, it was flimsy and i could not see because it was pretty much hanging. when i started to look around it and investigate what happened, i could feel behind it something sticking out. it seems as if the socket holding it in place just broke and in turn made it not stay up. i had to take it down because velcro would not hold it up and i just could not see with it hanging. i have not paid to fix it as it is costly and do not have $200 + to spare for a visor which should clearly have not broken especially since i am still paying for this car. i want this to be fixed by toyota. i called a toyota dealership to see if this would be covered under warranty but of course it's not and i've also read blogs in regards to this issue. apparently driver visors on toyota's breaking is pretty common. *kb

The sun visor on my driver's side failed on its own. it impaired my vision because it would droop down and sit within my view. that was fixed under warranty. now, the passenger side sun visor droops and it is in the way of my right view. toyota refuses to fix the problem. after searching the internet i found that this is a common issue with toyota. *kb

My wife has a 2008 toyota camry. it is out of warranty as of december 2010. she didn't let me know she was having issues with drivers side sunvisor dropping until it was too late. i searched the internet looking for a replacement part and found this is a common problem other owners share. the dealer wants $117 or more for this part. my issue is toyota knows it's a problem and buying a replacement sunvisor will have the same problem. i had to remove the visor before it cause her to panic when it dropped and have an accident. *tr
