The dashboard on my 2007 toyota camry is melting and causing a huge glare on the windshield. it looks like i slathered baby oil on the first 5 inches of the dashboard. this causes difficulty seeing out of the windshield especially in the florida sun. this should be a manufacture recall since it is a serious safety concern for drivers. *tr

My dashboard is so sticky that i cant drive my car in the day time with out feeling safe. my dash board has turn into a glue trap for anything that comes in contact with it. i have called toyota and made a claim and they told me not one person has made a complaint. i find that very hard to believe with all the post and videos on internet of this problem all over the country. will please someone help, my car is not safe as you cant see in day time out of window. *tr

When sun comes out the dash board gets shiny and and oily. the reflection of the sun's rays from the oily surface of the dash board makes it difficult to see the road. the visibility is quite reduced and it is dangerous to drive with such poor view of the road in front. when taken to the toyota dealer in bradenton, fl. he says he has not seen any dash board like that.

The dashboard on my car is melting, the vehicle has been garage kept since 2011. the dashboard is extremely shiny and sticky and causes a serious glare problem while driving in daylight. i am afraid to operate the vehicle during daylight hours, due to the serious possibility of causing an accident because of the near zero visibility caused by the glare off the dashboard. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the entire sun roof detached from the frame and rolled off onto the highway. when the failure occurred the power sun roof was in a closed position. the vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road when the contact noticed that the frame of the sun roof was completely rusted. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 128,000.

The driver side visor broke after putting into use. the broken hinge on the visor does not allow the visor to be moved into a stored position, out of the drivers view. *tr

My toyota camry has a problem with the dashboard. its melted and is sticky has a very high shine in the sunlight. at times occludes my vision for safe driving and i feel is very unsafe. obviously it should be a recall before i have an accident. i contacted a dealer when they were doing a marketing survey which specifically asked if our car has dashboard melting issues. when i called they said the dealer would pay for the part (@ $1000) and i would have to pay for the install @ another $1000. that is too much money (which i don't have) and if they are admitting it is a material fault, then they should do a recall and pay 100% before someone gets killed. can you help? i need your help. i really like my car, but it is dangerous. *tr

My driver side sun visor will not stay up. it is making it difficult to drive and i am bumping me head on it. it is very irritating.

Driver side sun visor arm broke and sun visor will not stay in the upward position.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the front driver's side sun visor released downwardly and distorted the vision. the sun visor would only remain in the upward position when secured with velcro. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 85,600.

The dashboard is melting and has become very sticky. the glare effect my vision which has cause close accidents. *tr

Both my sun visors have broke to the point they are becoming a safety issue. they now dangle and will not stay up. im reading this has become a huge issue for many toyota camry owners. i can understand if there was a lot of wear and tear on them however i know there is not and should not be breaking this quickly.

Melting dashboard causes glare and reduces visibility during daytime driving.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the passenger's side sun visor failed to stay in the up position. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified about the defect. the failure mileage was 106,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the driver's side sun visor failed. the sun visor detached from the plastic holder and obstructed the driver's view of the roadway. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the sun visor was not replaced. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 105,000.

June 29th my passenger visor dropped and refused to stay up except in a backward position, now it is not holding there either. a week later my driver's side sun visor started to droop. i have contacted my local toyota dealership after finding a warranty policy bulletin saying it should be covered.however now the dealership is saying my vin may not match a vehicle with this problem. my vehicle does have this problem, why should the vin matter, they should fix it. i see this is a very common problem and i should not have to pay over $200 to repair it myself. if they deny this i will not buy a toyota again. this happened before with ford/mercury and i never bought another one. if there is a recall and you are having that exact issue within the fix time it should be done whether "your" vin matches or not. how are they allowed to be so selective. *tr

The dashboard is defective part. the glare from the melting dash blocks my vision at certain times of the day causing a safety hazard. *tr

Almost a collision. i have a dash that is sticky and the glare from the sun reflecting off the sticky dash is a very bad safety hazard. on 3 different occasions i could have had an accident. it even happens accident night when the street lights reflect off the dash. i have had the cat in motion and stable and have had near accidents. please let me know if there is anything i can do about this. it is out of warranty. bit this needs to be recalled and fixed by the maker. i hope and pray it does not take a death or several deaths before action is taken to get this major safety problem fixed. thank you. The sun visor rotated downward on its own during travel, and will no longer stow in its original fully up position. please refer to toyota warranty policy bulletin pol 12-3, this bulletin is for the same problem but does not cover my vin series of jtn. *tr

The driver side sun visor was loose for several weeks. it would not flip up or stay up at any given time. it would always flop down. the piece had broken so much that the visor sagged if i put it to the left of me. i would have to duck my head down to see if any traffic was coming. i only used the visor if the sun was bright so not being able to adjust it to block the sun caused a lot of trouble because i'd have to duck my head to look below it all the time when driving. i finally had to take the whole thing off. *tr

The entire dashboard of my 2007 toyota camry has become soft and sticky. there is a reflective glare coming off the dashboard closest to the windshield where the melted material has hardened. the glare of the shiny material makes it very difficult to drive in daylight. this hazard could result in an accident and should be addressed with tms. *tr

My 2007 toyota camry has developed a very soft and very sticky dashboard. at first i thought it was some sort of residue but the dashboard just kept getting worse. you can not touch it without leaving a mark on it, either a finger print or a nick from catching it with your fingernail. any and all dust particles stick to its surface and because of the extreme stickiness it can not be cleaned off. the glare from the sun is the most dangerous part! you can not see, even with visor down and sunglasses on! *tr

The sun visor on the driver side of the 2007 toyota camry is defective. it flops down and cannot go back to its position of being up. as a result, visibility is affected which can be dangerous. i think there should be a recall for the manufacturer to fix this safety issue. *tr

A "sticky" and cracking dashboard from florida heat causes a huge glare on the windshield. this makes visibility extremely limited while driving. i have not used any cleaning or polishing products on the dashboard. i am convinced it is just from high temperatures and humidity over time. after noticing the problem i tried to reduce direct sunlight on the dashboard by using windshield covers; however, the dash still remained "sticky" and the covers just simply stuck to the dash. the issue used to only occur when it was hot outside, but now the dash has been "melted" so much so that it has become glossy. which means even in cooler temperatures the dash reflects any sunlight and causes a glare on the windshield. again, this issue highly decreases visibility while driving. it is often difficult to perform the easiest maneuvers simply because you cannot see. i have even bought expensive polaroid sunglasses to somewhat reduce the glare, but visibility is still difficult. i am concerned about this issue, because it can easily cause an accident which could have been prevented. please let me know the best way to handle the situation. thank you for your help. *tr

Water leaking in the headliner, causing the foot wells to be wet. the drain line from the moon roof "gutter" disconnected from the drain line pan and water drains and accumulates in the foot well. during cold weather conditions there is an extreme condensation built-up on the interior of windows. use of heater will generate high humidity in the cabin and fogging of the window. the fluid in the cabin along with the heating and cooling at night has created a problem cycle. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that he received a manufacturer's recall in regard to the sun visor. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and was repaired with a new sun visor. immediately after having the repairs performed, the contact discovered that the visor could not be released at a certain angle to where the sun would be blocked. the manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 123,000. the current mileage was approximately 123,100. the vin was unavailable.

The dashboard glare and sticky falling apart condition is obviously an issue. we were never informed that toyota was replacing these dashboards. i have a 2007 camry with only 80,000 miles on it and want to have the dashboard replaced. obviously they know it was dangerously shiny and sticky as they replace them for 10 years. the national toyota people told me it was too late for them to help me even though they know it's an issue! what if anything can i do?

Dashboard is melting and when the sun hits the windshield i can't see the road due to a glare. *tr

When pulled down to block the sun the visor bracket fell off. the drivers side fell off in december 2012 & the passenger september 27, 2013. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry xle. the contact stated that the driver's side sun visor would not remain in an upward secured position. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 88,000.

I own a toyota camry 2007 and the dashboard is melting and has created shiny dashboard. i have cleaned with plain water/damp cloth but it is not getting better. i have a friend who also owns camry 2007 and is facing same problem. i have maintained my car very well and this is surely manufacturing defect. on december 1st this year and i met with an accident because of melting dashboard and shiny dashboard that created glare in my eyes. thank god, no one was injured. i have also read online that many people who own toyota camry 2007 are facing same problem. *tr

Was driving and put visor down on driver side and it snapped and had to hold it up while driving. was very dangerous while driving so researched how to take it completely off until i could afford to replace it. less than a week later the same thing happened to the passenger side. it really upsets me because i have sensitive eyes and drives towards the sun every morning when it's the worst and is very dangerous not only for me and my children in the car but, also the people i can't see. i'm like most people who live paycheck to paycheck and coming up with over 200 dollars to fix something that should have been built to last in the first place really makes me want to not own a toyota. *tr

I noticed the dashboard was becoming tacky. i has gotten steadily worse. i has become shiny near the winshield and is advancing towards the front of the dash. the dashboard appears to be melting.

The driver's side sun visor will not stay up causing driving visibility issues to the point i had to pull it down. still have visibility issues without a visor but have less dangerous than with the defective one in place. numerous forums indicate other 2007 toyota camry's with same issue. should be a toyota recall item vs. fleecing consumers the $200 for a dealer to replace. *tr ## vin failed ##

Over the course of the past year, the dashboard of my camry has devolved into a sticky, shiny mess. the surface of most of the dashboard has a gluey texture, with the parts nearest the windshield having completely liquefied. the sticky areas are very shiny, causing glare that covers much of the windshield when driving towards the sun or under streetlights. this glare is very distracting and significantly reduces visibility. *tr

The dashboard of my vehicle has become very sticky and shiny causing a visibility hazard due to the reflection on the windshield. the dealer advised that the only "remedy" is to replace the dashboard since i am unable to even touch the surface to possibly wipe off the shine. toyota (all vehicle manufacturers for the matter) should be charged with the responsibility of installing materials that do not become a hazard to drivers over time. *tr

My driver's side sun visor has fallen into my view. it is difficult to drive with this defect. *tr

Driver side sun visor flops down and cannot be raised to up position. *tr

The internal mechanism that keeps the sun visor up and out of the driver's field of view failed and the visor now hangs in front of the driver's face. *tr

The driver's side sun visor broke. the arm that goes into the sun visor came out of the sun visor. it seems that it broke the plastic inside the visor that holds it in place. this caused the visor to keep falling and not stay in place. it had a good chance of creating a hazard so i completely removed the visor. the tab on the bar that allows the visor to snap into place has become very stiff to where it is very difficult to rotate around. the stiffness of the arm seems to be what probably broke the plastic. *tr

Driver side sun visor started to drop and will not stay in place. it has broken inside the plastic case. it impairs the drivers vision and i've seen on the web that this is a common problem with 2007 camrys. *tr

At about this date the left side of the dashboard cover started to get real sticky, like glue was poured on it, and i can't get rid of it. on bright sunny days spots appear on the windshield making it hard to see ahead at times. i need to know why toyota won't fix this. it's not common for this to happen and i don't feel i should have to pay to have this fixed as i have found others with the same problem. *tr

I initially began noticing that when the ac does not blow cold air when turned on that all of the gauges on my dashboard stop working including, speedometer dropping to 0 while i am driving so that i do not know at what speed i am driving, my gas gauge inexplicably drops to empty, lights on the dashboard stop working and my dashboard goes dark, rpm gauge flickers wildly, brake & abs lights do not go off, and occasionally the car stops but with hesitation when braking, along with interior fogging of all windows when it rains (sometimes defroster/fans work to defog windows but sometimes it does not causing my visibility while driving to be substantially and dangerously reduced). during some online research, i believed that the issues might be related to an earlier recall so i called the toyota corporate office and they indicated that it may be related but to take the car to my local toyota dealership to confirm. i took the car to toyota of hollywood and the manager stated that it was not related to the recall and that the main computer was malfunctioning and causing the subcomputers to also malfunction and estimated a repair price of $2500. while i was doing my online research, it appears that many 2007 camrys are having the same exact issues i am having and in addition, the toyota camry hybrids had been recalled for the same issues as well. i do not believe i should incur the expense of repairs for issues that seem to be related to a manufacturers defect.

Sun visor was fine, and not experiencing any problems. while driving in moderate traffic the sun visor just flopped down obscuring my vision. it would not stay back up. i had to hold it up with one hand and drive with the other until i got home. it is now taped onto my sunroof with duct tape. not good at all! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the driver side sun visor would not remain secured in its housing. the visor would continuously fall, obstructing the driver's view of the roadway. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the sun visor was replaced however the failure persisted. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 84,217 and the current mileage was 220,000.

Driver side sun visor dangling. passenger side sun visor fell off. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the driver side sun visor would not stay closed and in position will driving. the sun visor would impair the contact's vision of the roadway. the contact did not take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. the failure mileage was 23,800.

The driver side sun visor is drooping and will not stay in place. i was driving on the highway when the problem first occurred and almost got into an accident. *tr
