The instrument panel and ac the panel while driving down the road will go out and act like the car is just in start mode. you can not tell anything while this happens. not if your car is overheating not how fast you are going. nothing your intrument panel should tell you while your driving. the ac started acting up at the same time. it comes in and out with cold air like the instrument panel. when googled to see how to fix this... i can acrossed many others having the same problem. it started a while back. i have special need children so money is tight or i would have fixed it by now. the car has been sitting and only moving when it has to be used. i use a gps for speed. i just live through the ac. i have been told the ac problem in eletric like the panel. the picture attached is what it shows while out 99% of the time.

My car was burning more than 5 quarts in less than 3k miles but after long time finally toyota has fixed the issue. but this was happening for me from 45k miles on my car around 2009 until now. mean while since the engine was burning which caused my catalytic converter to blow off. they should replace the catalytic converter too because this is caused by the engine oil burning in the combustion camber. few years back they fixed my power window on the driver side but last 12- 18 months i am experiencing an issue some times the window opens on the passenger side but most of the time passenger would try to open but it wont open. i believe its an electrical issue which may have happened after they fixed on the driver side. if any accident happens then the passenger wont be able to get out which is very dangerous its an safety issue.
Driving at normal speed my headlights would go out by themselves. to get them on again i would have to turn the switch on and off. i was stopped twic by state trooper and given a warning.
The water temperature, rpm guage and speedometer randomly fluctuate, abs and brake lights stay on. a/c will randomly stop working.
My speedometer stopped working, abs brake light stays on, odometer meter dances, and air conditioning pops on and off, all occurred at the same time. it started happening when i replaced my rear breaks. i am trying to make an appointment with toyota dealership. i see so many complains on electrical stuff. but it seems that toyota refuses recall toyota camry 2007. and to fix it around $4,000.
The primary safety concerns regarding my complaint are a malfunctioning speedometer and a malfunctioning anti-lock braking system; however, there are others, which i will describe. while i was driving home, the instrument panel went completely crazy. specifically, the speedometer went to zero (as i was driving 40mph) the tachometer started bouncing up and down between 0 and 2 or 3, the brake and abs light came on. then, everything went back to normal before i could pull over. i soon realized additional problems like the temp gauge going limp and the air conditioner blowing hot air along with other things. all of this happened all together but on and off at random intervals. i did some research, which led me to the abs issue. according to others with the same problem the repair is $2k-$3k and many had stories of dealers making various costly repairs that didn't fix the problem. i work for minimum wage, this is my only car, and it is 110 degrees in my town. driving without air conditioning here is a safety hazard. one person suggested unplugging the faulty abs module to regain air conditioning. when i did this the air conditioning did in fact start working along with the tachometer and temp gauge. the speedometer, odometer, and seat belt alarm still do not work. furthermore, this is no longer intermittent but constant and the brake light, abs light, and check engine light all remain on. an abs malfunction could be disastrous in wet weather. the lack of a speedometer is a safety problem on city roads for obvious reasons and not to forget the seat belt alarm or the odometer, which no longer logs the mileage. my 2007 camry had low miles for its age (<70k) when these problems first occurred; the car has been garaged and well maintained. i have read many other complaints from those with the very same problems and it seems like a faulty product is to blame.
Speedometer, tachometer goes to zero or tachometer (rpms) needle bounces around. abs and brake warning lights go on, temperature gauge goes to zero. air conditioning stops blowing cold air. all happens intermittently while driving at various speeds.
Abs module failure due to manufacturing defect. internal shorting in module cause cars computer can system to go down. abs braking stops working, dashboard instruments lose all signals and go to zero. speed/rpm/temp/braking lights come on abs. total dashboard confusion. climate control system stops working.
Abs and brake lights stay on and speed odometer stops and all start back up. also the air condition start blowing out less air and once the lights goes off everything start back working normal. called to toyota and they said that its no recall, but this is crazy because its to many people having this issue.
Dashboard panel gauges started to fluctuate. they bounce up and down. abs and brake lights came on. ac stopped working. i called to toyota recall center and was directed to go to a toyota dealer to have the car inspected in my own cost....... *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. while attempting to start the vehicle, the battery warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 61,000.
The car speedometer stopped working while i was driving. the needle went to zero, the tachometer fluctuates out of control up and down, the abs and brake lights come on, the lights that indicate what gear you are in turned off, the gas gauge appears to still work okay, but the mileage stops calculating although the digital display is still on just not counting mileage. i have no way to know how fast i am going or if my car will either not stop due to brake lights being on or just cut off since there seems to be some electrical malfunction. the air conditioning also stopped working. this happened the first time for about 10 minutes, then as quickly as it stopped, it started working again. it has now done this each day at multiple times during each trip for the past 3 days since the problem first started. not knowing how fast you are going is a real safety issue and sounds like this issue has come up before with other toyota owners and should be recalled. *tr
As i was driving and came to the stop my speedometer dropped down to zero, my tachometer keeps going up and down, the abs and brake signals light up, and my a/c seems to stop working. i researched this online and noticed that hundreds of consumers are experiencing this problem. seems to be something to do with the abs modulator/sensor corroding. i contacted my local toyota dealership in clovis and they said they had to start with a basic diagnosis of $129 and that this was not a recall issue. how can this not be a recall of there are hundreds of complaints!? i have a tomtom that can keep track of my speed so i'll just use this until a recall is made and this issue can be fixed free of charge. *tr
While driving down the road at around 45mph. all of a sudden. my abs and brake light indicators light up. my speedometer dropped down to 0. my gauges jumping around. my speed in actuality didn't go down to 0. and, my car didn't stall or cut off. but, if it had. i could have been ran over by a semi truck or another vehicle. prior to this happening, my tire sensor light was on. i took to the dealership, and they said once the tire sensor was fixed, the other would go away. i had tire sensor fixed. the lights went off for a brief period. but, back on again at interval times. the car also seems to want to cut off when idling at red lights. when i googled the problems online. it seem toyota cars of all makes and years are having the same exact problem. i am taking back to the dealership once again. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. while driving at an unknown speed, the horn alarm activated independently and stopped after the safety brake was engaged. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 132,000.
I was driving and noticed that the emergency brake and abs lights were on. the speedometer and tachometer were at zero and the water temp meter was bouncing up and down. i took the car to a dealership and they replaced one of the computer parts that controls the dash, they had to have the odometer readings set prior to shipment. the repair cost around $700, but did not fix the problem. i did a search on-line and other people are having the same problem with their camry's. some were claiming that the issue is with the abs module. i unplugged the electrical lead to the abs module and plugged it back in and the issue was corrected for several hours, but ultimately came back. i have been driving the car like this for while and it issue with the dash is intermittent. i also noticed that the thermometer comes and goes, the indicator of which gear i am in comes on and goes off and the odometer does not advance when the dash is malfunctioning. there does not appear to be a pattern of when the problem starts or stops it appears to be random, it switches from working to not several times an hour. *tr
Currently i am having a problem with my abs and brake light coming on and my module not reading my speed, temperature, or rpms correctly or at all some times. i spoke with a technician that i have gotten work done with before and he told me that he had another customer with the same year same model call in and their car was having the same problem. while the people at my insurance company told me that it may have to do with the age of the vehicle and dismissed my claim. he told me that the only way they would know is if they could diagnose the vehicle again. but the replacement parts are expensive and i'm starting to think it may be a problem with the manufacturer. *tr
Over the last few months, frequently my 2007 camry dashboard displays erroneous information - tach, speedometer and temperature gage read zero and brake and abs lights go on. clearly these are safety issues. also, the air conditioner goes off and the air coming out of the ducts goes to full hot. dealership indicates they have never heard of the problem before and therefore doesn't know how to fix it. i see many similar complaints on the web and noticed that the camry hybrid has a recall for something that looks similar to this safety issue. *tr
Abs and brake light comes on and the odometer an tachometer stop working or go up and down wildly at the same time the air conditioner blows hot air. also excessively burning oil 1 to 2 quarts per 1000 miles.
Driver was passing another car at ~65mph and when the driver took his foot off the gas the car continued to accelerate. driver applied the brakes, which slowed the car some, but not sufficiently against the engine (now close to full throttle). driver then immediately put the engine into neutral, however this did not disengage the engine. driver was then forced to use the ignition to turn off the car and finally it started costing to a stop while in neutral. assuming it was some transient fault, the driver then restarted the engine while coasting in neutral and the car immediately began accelerating again, driver then again immediately turned off the ignition to bring the car to a stop. *tr
Started the car and noticed the abs and parking brake light were on. tachometer was jumping between 0 and 1000rpm. air conditioner wasn't working. drove the car a bit with no change except the tachometer jumping a bit higher than 1 and dropping back to 0. speedometer wouldn't move at all. after a bit more driving, the abs and parking brake lights turned off and the gauges resumed normal operation. air conditioner also started working. since this initial problem, the gauges and lights have been operating with the same inconsistency (jumping tachometer, speedometer sitting at 0, abs and parking brake lights on).
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving at 45 mph, the anti- brake system warning light illuminated and all the various gauges on the instrument cluster started to fluctuate. in addition, the air conditioner started to blow hot air and the brakes hesitated to respond. the failure recurred intermittently. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the anti-brake module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 110,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. while driving approximately 35 mph, the odometer and speedometer became inoperable and all the warning indicators illuminated. the failure recurred once. the vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 104,700.
Toyota camry - 2007 head lites - low beams not good. high beams not good! google "toyota headlight problems" numerous complaints for 2007 and also other years. i checked the ground and it is grounded properly. there needs to be a recall! someone could have an accident. night driving is not good, even with high beams! *tr
Our 2007 toyota camry all of a sudden started having what appears to be electrical issues. brake and abs lights come on while the tachometer and speedometer bounce up and down uncontrollably and the ac cuts in and out while this is happening. it will correct itself for a few minutes and then start acting up again. i am reading many other similar complaints online and feel toyota should definitely do something to correct this issue. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the gauges on the instrument panel would fluctuate erratically. in addition, the abs and the brake warning lights illuminated and the ac would independently deactivate and activate. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was unavailable. the approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
One day after toyota replaced my rear brakes and rotors, i was driving when suddenly the brake and abs lights on the dash lit up, the speedometer dropped to zero, the tachometer dropped to zero, and the engine temperature gauge fluttered between zero and midrange. the first occurrence lasted only a minute or two, but on the next morning it happened twice, each occurrence lasting several minutes. it was very disconcerting to be driving on the highway and not have a working speedometer and not know if there was something wrong with the brakes, since both the brake and abs warning lights were lit. i took it to toyota that morning and it took them 4 days to diagnose the problem, coming to the conclusion with help from toyota headquarters that it must be the abs computer. it costs $1800 plus they are charging me 8 hours of labor (even though they spent several days trying to diagnose it) for a total of $2700. when my wife found out how much it would cost, she googled the problem and in a second there were other identical complaints mentioning the abs computer replacement. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. while driving approximately 60 mph, the abs and brake warning indicators illuminated intermittently. also, the speedometer and odometer failed to operate. the contact mentioned that there was a rapid increase in rpms. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Tl* the contact owned a 2007 toyota camry. after parking and exiting the vehicle, the contact was alerted that the inside of the vehicle was engulfed with smoke. the fire department stated that there was an electrical fire inside the vehicle. the vehicle was destroyed. there were no injuries. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 50,000.
Abs light came on, speedometer. odometer, and a/c stopped working. problem continues intermittently. internet research indicates that this is a widely known problem with this year model and repairs are extremely expensive. seeking repair through recall. this is a safety issue. please advise if recall has been or will be initiated. thank you. *tr
When driving brake and abs light comes on and speedometer goes to 0 mph also ac stop working. went to a toyota dealer they say it's the battery. tested the battery got 12v, told them i'm not stupid. toyota forum shows a lot of people having the same problem. what toyota waiting for to place a recall for this problem that can be fatal ?
Here is a problem with my toyota camry, 4-door le sedan, 2007. the indicators brake and abs on the instrument panel started lighting up occasionally after the front brake service on 07-29-14. when it is happening, the temperature gauge, tachometer, and speedometer are moving quickly, up and down and finally to '0' position. my mechanic was not able to fix it and suggested to bring the car to a dealership. i visited toyota services. code u0073 was present in their tests. they could not pinpoint a problem and suggested additional tests, but told me they could not guarantee the problem will be resolved. considering the said above, i decided not to do any more tests. i continue drive my car with the described problem. *tr
This is follow-up on my complaint of september 30, 2014. i am an owner of toyota camry, 2007. my original complaint stated ?the indicators brake and abs on the instrument panel started lighting up occasionally after the front brake service on 07-29-14. when it is happening, the temperature gauge, tachometer, and speedometer are moving quickly, up and down and finally to ?0? position.? i contacted a local toyota dealership twice. they could not identify a cause of the problem and suggested more tests, but stated they could not guarantee the problem resolution. i refused to pay for the job which would not lead to the problem resolution. i had many email contacts with toyota corporation during last several weeks. i asked them if the corporation has a fix for the problem reported by many toyota owners. i have never gotten an answer to this question. each time they replied with an advice to contact the local dealership. i continue using the car with the problem for approximately 3 months. it seems the car conditions deteriorate. in addition to the described deficiencies, i saw e (error) on outside temperature display several times, an erroneous indication of fasten driver seat belt, excessive vibration of an engine and even more important, reduced tractive contact of the car on the wet road. safety of my car with the described problem crosses my mind frequently. all my attempts to get toyota corporation to investigate the problem have failed. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving at a unknown speed, the instrument panel failed and the contact was unable to determine the speed. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the electronic brake control module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 75,615.
the same year and model toyota camry has already had a recall for the same problem in the hybrid version for the exact same part. while driving the car the speedometer goes to zero, the tachometer needle goes up and down like crazy, the ac cuts off and the temperature sensor cuts off. the parking brake light and the abs failure light come on the dashboard showing the brake system has failed. the cars does stop but with hesitation. i have no way to know if the brake light are working during the failure so i am concerned i am going to get rear ended because the driver behind me won't know i am stopping. there is no way to know if this issue will get worse and there will be a point where it will not stop. i called toyota and opened a case #1407190530 and was told that they had no such issues showing in their database. i told them it shows up thousands of times on google and was basically told, who are you going to trust thousands of people or toyota? i asked him to check for any notes on the model dealing with the abs ecm or the abs actuator. he told me they had none and that i had to bring it to the dealer and have them check it. this seems like a great scam for them, the car gives a code u0073 showing the problem is the abs, so the dealer gets to charge a couple of hundred dollars to run tests to then tell you the 3 inch square part cost $4000 to replace because they are the only ones that make it. you buy the part it cost them $50 to make for $4000 with labor or your don't have a car. having read through hundred of posts online from people with the exact same issue, with the exact same part i feel that there should be a recall on these cars. toyota has a bean counter mentality where it has figured out the number of acceptable dead and how much legal fees they can pay before it is worth fixing an issue. deaths before the loss of profit should be the toyota slogan. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the abs and the brake lights illuminated intermittently. the contact also mentioned that the speedometer, the tachometer, the mileage meter, and temperature gauge intermittently malfunction. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the abs pump modulator needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle not repaired. the failure mileage was 160,000.
The tachometer, speedometer, and odometer work sporadically, mostly they are non functional. all warning lights are on when the speedometer is not working. the gas and temperature gauge work most of the time. the air condition fan works normally but the air condition blows cold air only when the speedometer is working.
I was driving about 75 mph going wb on i-8 heading out of tucson july 14, 2014. i started to smell a faint burning, which i thought was the car in front of me. the smell became more intense and smelled like something electrical was frying. it is a very specific smell. i thought for a second that something was happening in my steering wheel but then noticed smoke coming up through my window control buttons. i immediately pulled over and turned off the car. the smoking stopped. i called a tow truck and a cop waited with me in 105 degree weather. i was towed back to tucson to a toyota dealership. they told me there was an electrical shortage and that i would need to pay over $500 to repair it. i have not done that but instead, i had them cut power to my windows so i can continue to drive the car immediately. i feel that there was definitely a possibility of fire but thank goodness there wasn't. please reference nhtsa campaign number: 12v491000 from october from 2012. i feel like the same issue applies to me (and possibly the other cars manufactured with mine) and should be investigated further. thank you so much. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the abs warning light illuminated intermittently. the contact also mentioned that the instrument panel failed causing the rpms, the speedometer, and the temperature gauges fail to display readings. the vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 129,000.
When driving brake and abs light comes on and speedometer goes to 0 mph also ac stop working. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the brake and the abs warning lights illuminated intermittently. the contact also mentioned that the rpms were erratically going fluctuating and the speedometer stayed at zero while the vehicle was in motion. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the failure was unable to be determined. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 62,000.
Abs, speedometer, tachometer, rpm and a/c jumps on and off all over the place. i took it to a toyota dealer, could not find what was the problem but they assumed it may be the abs module or some other modules may not be talking to each other. i have researched on line toyota camry forums and and found they are lots of toyota camry owners with the same issues. this is a very safety issue because im not able to see at the speed my car is going when driving it because tachometer gauges among the others gauges working intermittent (on and off) i request for toyota to place a recall for all toyota camry having this mayor safety electronics problems. i would not mind paying for repair if toyota dealer knew what the problem was but they don't know and if the repair did not exceed ocer thousands of dollars for something that the manufacture has failed to addressed and fix. thank you.
