Drivers side sun visor has failed and falls down in front of driver causing a visibility issue. toyota says it is not covered under warranty. it is obviously a defective part and searching online shows that this has happened to numerous other camry drivers. part should be recalled and replaced at no cost. i own 2 toyotas and purchased them because of the quality. this is not what i expect from toyota and is a safety issue. *kb

After i got this car, the following week i used the driver side sun visor and then folded back to the default position. after 2-3 seconds, the visor just flipped over from the default position (not from the clip) blocking the vision and for a moment i couldn't understand what was happening, but luckily there were not vehicles ahead of me and hence had enough time to recover. now the visor wont stay back in the default position properly. *tr

The driver side visor would not stay raised and in place and would flop straight down inhibiting your ability to see. we had to remove the visor completely as it was a safety hazard. dealerships do not recognize this as an issue, and no recall has been announced by toyota. dealers are charging to fix this problem and it seems to be a massively widespread problem with this model. see the following link for just a few examples: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-343284.html. *tr

Driver's side sun visor will not stay up. impairs visibility. *tr

The driver side sun visor just falls in front of your driving view. it is very loose and will not stay in up position. it appears the locking mechanism just breaks very easily. this impairs my view when driving, causing a safety hazard. this seems to be a reoccurring problem with make and model of car for many people. *tt

The sun visor on the driver side does not stay in place. it drops or completely falls down. it is a safety issue as it blocks the view of the driver and can cause a car accident. many people has reported same kind of problem and toyota does not want to make any recall to fix this problem. it is not a tear and wear issue. it is a manufacture defects. *tr

Drivers side sun visor will not stay up. hangs down and blocks visibility. had to remove in order to drive car. i have never had a visor break on a vehicle before. we generally keep our vehicles at lease 15 years. this should be covered by toyota. *tr

The drivers side sun visor suddenly swung down in front of my face while driving. something feels broken along the spine of the visor. it no longer will stay in the upright position and significantly blocks visibility. i have removed the visor completely to avoid the hazard it poses. *tr

Sunvisor on driver side of 2007 toyota camry se will not stay up. keeps falling into my vison while driving. after looking online to find a fix, i realize this is a very common problem with this car. i almost had a wreck this morning because of the visor. *tr

2007 camry: the visor on the driver side is drooping down and would not stay up. it is obstructing the vision. i thought it might be a wear and tear but lot of people with the same year/model are having this problem as i read on the internet posts. can you please look into this for a possible recall. *tt

Driver side visor has failed. it has fallen completely down and will not stay in the upright position. i rarely use the visor. after some searching, i have found this is a huge problem. my visor blocks my view of the front road and also part of my rear view mirror. i contacted toyota headquarters in california and was given a case number. the rep stated that toyota is aware of the sun visor defect complaints and are "calmly" deciding if and how the complaints will be addressed. they stated that there will absolutely not be any repair assistance unless they decide to issue a recall. bascially saying this is my problem and that i have to deal with it no matter how costly. the dealer quoted $134 parts not including labor. i am not able to afford this expense at the moment and have removed the visor out of safety concerns for myself and family. from all of the complaints i have found, and by toyota's own admission regarding awareness of the defect, it should be recalled for being a safety hazard and malfunction of equipment. *tr

I had been hearing a clicking noise while using my sunvisor, and one day while driving at a high rate of speed on the interstate, the visor dropped in my face (obstructing my view). i took my car to a dealership for repairs and was quoted at $175.00 with parts and labor. having this visor either dangling in my face or to the left of my face, is a driving hazard that could result in an accident in which someone could suffer serious bodily harm or even a fatality..........recall please!! *tr

The sunvisor on the driver side of 2007 camry xle does not stay in place. it droops or completely falls down. started one week ago, no accident or change in use of visor caused this. severe danger due to inability to see properly with how the visor falls. contacted dealer and repair is not considered part of warranty. *tr

Driver side sun visor of car is defective, for no reason it becomes unstuck and begins to dangle in the drivers vision causing very dangerous driving for all people on the road. this happened in my vehicle without me even using it, the sun visor was not in use when it lost support and begin to dangle. *tr

2007 toyota camry; the drivers side sun visor has "popped" & broken loose from the mounting bracket, in such a way that the visor will not remain in a stationary position, and hangs loosely, in line-of-sight for driving. i had to physically hold it with one hand in order to see clearly while driving in mid-day traffic. when i reached my destination i decided to remove the visor entirely because it is a dangerous interference while driving. on a search for a replacement part i found a toyota internet forum, where this is frequent complaint for 2007 and 2008 camry's, so it appears to be a design flaw - one that can seriously impair the driver's field of vision and cause a collision. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the drivers side sun visor was fractured and obstructed vision while driving. the vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 27,000.

I have a 2007 toyota camry se and my driver side sun visor broke. it had been making a clicking sound when pulling it down for a few weeks and finally it started to droop and fall down while driving. now it will not stay up at all and seems to be cracked at the connection to the ceiling of the car. the cost to repair is approximately $180. this is a safety concern as this can impede vision while driving. also this is a known issue with this model of car. i believe toyota needs to recall due to this safety issue. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated both sun visors in the front of the vehicle broke. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed her that the repair cost at her expense was $150 each. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 100,000.

Both sun visors have broken and will not longer remain up. driver side was hanging straight down and had to be removed. passenger side will only stay up at about a 45 degree angle. both failed suddenly and obscure driver's vision. upon removing the driver side visor it could be seen that the seam in the plastic was broken and the internal metal clip through which the visor shaft passes slips instead of holding fast. numerous small pieces of broken plastic from the inside were protruding out of the seam. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the driver side sun visor would not remain upright and was keeping the contact from having a clear view of the roadway. the dealer acknowledged the failure but advised that the visor was not covered. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 80,000.

I have a 2007 toyota camry that i purchased used in 2008. for the past couple of months, the driver's side sun visor will not stay up causing it to fall and dangle in the driver's line of sight. this is also distracting while driving at night, i'm having to lean over or bend down to see around the unusable visor. i called toyota to see if it was covered in my warranty and was told "no" becasue a sun visor is considered a trim. toyota needs to recall these sun visors before a person has an accident and hurts themself or others due to the visor causing visiblity problems. i will not be buying another toyota vehicle!!! *tt

Driver side sun visor began to droop and would not stay in upward or downward position. finally had to remove visor in order to see while driving. now have no visor, and sun glasses do not always provide enough protection from the sun to see while driving. this is a major driving hazard....especially for someone with light-sensitive eyes. the visor is too costly to replace easily for some people. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the driver and passenger sun-visors failed. the sun-visors separated from the holder and the driver side sun visor was blocking the contact's view of the roadway while driving. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer replaced the driver side sun-visor. the passenger side sun-visor was not repaired. the failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 67,000.

The sun visor on the driver side will no longer retract to its normal position and now hangs at an awkward angle compromising my field of vision. as the sun visor has rarely been used or even touched, i believe toyota is at fault and should be held responsible for correcting this inconvenient and hazardous defect as soon as possible.

Sun visor on driver's side stopped working. for about a year before it stopped, it would make a loud cracking sound anytime i adjusted it. now it is hanging straight down and impairing my vision. i tied it to the grab bar above my door with cable ties (very attractive!), and it is totally unusable. driving with the sun in my eyes is not safe and i have good quality sunglasses. i drive east in the am to work and west in the pm home. i can't avoid the sun. *tr

Driver side sun visor suddenly stopped working. visor suddenly fell down while i was driving obscuring my view. this is clearly a safety hazard and i am surprised a recall has not been issued. i have only had the car 4 years and approximately 96,00 miles. *kb

Driver side visor has failed. at first it was just a bit loose so i didn't really mind. now it has fallen almost completely down and will not stay in the up position. normal wear might have been considered except my car is only 4 yrs old and i rarely use the visor. after some searching i have found this is a huge problem. my visor blocks my view of the front road and also part of my rearview mirror. i contacted the dealer and was quoted $134 parts not including labor. i am not able to afford this expense at the moment so i am going to have to remove the visor. from all of the complaints i have found it should be recalled for being a safety hazard and malfunction of equipment. *tr

The sun visor started flopping down when i was driving. it would not stay up. i used a straight pin to help hold it up out of way so that i could drive, but needed it when facing the sun to block out the sun's rays. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that the front drivers sun visor broke and she was unable to place it back in place. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 115,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. while the contact was driving approximately 45 mph, the sun visor suddenly released downward and would not remained completely secure in an upright position. the contact was concerned with the sun visor obstructing the visibility. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000. the vin was unavailable.

Purchased the vehicle from authorized dealer in 2011, had 24000 miles at the time. within one week returned to dealer because car was making noises as turning and at when braking steering column would shake. dealer changed a tire and rotated and balanced all and sent me home. after about 6 months, steering column is now continuously shaking as brakes are applied. went back to dealer at 55,000 miles and dealer said this was unrelated to the original shaking problem and diagnosed it as the steering column issue. i have the extended warranty so i will have to pay the $100 dollar deductible. next, my sun visor just broke on the drivers side, it just fell down and would not go back up as i was driving. it was obstructing my view so i played with it and the thing ripped the cloth and then came right off. dealer will not cover costs and says it is not covered under the warranty. obviously a known issue. *tr

The driver's side visor on our 2007 camry xle will not stay in the up position. there are hundreds of complaints online about this issue! why is there no recall??? this is an extreme hazard since the visor falls down at any time obstructing the view and/or hitting you in the head! we need a recall for this issue now! *tr

The driver side sun visor on my 2007 toyota camry breaks and hangs down blocking the view of the road. this is the third time it has broken and is a reoccurring problem. it occurs during normal operating conditions. i have taken it to be repaired three times now at my local toyota dealership. each time i have had to pay the $50 deductible for my extended warranty. each time toyota has had to order the visor leaving me having to drive the vehicle with the visor blocking my view of the road. this sam problem keeps happening and is an extremely unsafe condition. *tt

The driver side power window master switch started to smoke, after starting my vehicle and pressing the switch to roll down my windows. i turned the vehicle off and my car filled with smoke. i immediately called the fire department. once the fire department arrived my car was no longer smoking. the firefighters could not tell me what caused the smoke but stated it was not safe for me to drive the vehicle. they recommended i have my car towed to the dealership because there was a strong smell of melted electrical wires. i had my car towed to a toyota dealership and they stated my master switch was shorting out and it was not covered under my warranty because my mileage was past 35,000 for electrical problems. *tr

2007 toyota camry driver side sun visor problem, like in http://www.youtube.com/embed/pdmhqks7qha , not functioning and dangerous as i drive. *tr

From normal use my driver side visor is loose or seems to be open from inside it wont stay up in the normal position and down it is obstructing view. if i move to the side it prevents me from seeing my blind spot on my left. it will not stay in any position where it block/obstruct my view from driving. *tt

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. the contact stated that while driving, the drivers side sun visor broke and she was unable to put it back into place. the contact mentioned that she had to completely remove the visor in order to keep it from obstructing her vision. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 88,000.

2007 toyota camry le. the sun visor broke and is hanging down directly in my driving vision. i put it to the side but it doesn't stay. i drive into the sun. this is a safety hazard and i can see on line it's not uncommon. i have duct taped it to the ceiling for now. toyota wants over $200 to fix. this should never break, and it break seems like it's inside the visor itself. *kb

The driver's side sun visor will not stay in position. the driver's side sun visor is also quickly loosening to the point where it will be a distraction or fall on the driver while in operation of vehicle. this part on the vehicle has had light use and mainly for sheilding glaring sun while car is in motion. without the proper functioning of the sun visor, it will put the driver and occupants in a dangerous situation. *tr

I drive a 2007 toyota camry xle. it has approx. 37,000 miles. my driver side sun visor would not stay up or in position and then ended up falling off completely several days later. i took my car to the toyota dealership today and they are ordering a new visor. this is going to cost approx. $130.00 out of pocket, but this is a safety issue and needs to be fixed. *tr

The driver side sun visor just hangs down, will not stay up or in any position. *tt

Visibility safety with broken sun visor /driver's side torque pin will not stay up and flops down. numerous complaints on this particular make/model/year are noted on several web sites. such as toyotanation.com. please review this for a recall as dealer costs are very high for a safety issue on a 4-5 year old car.

Drivers side sun visor broke and not easily replaced - should be recalled. *kb
