Gas pedal accelerated without applying pressure.

I received letters where i was informed that my vehicle had the toyota defective airbag. i would not have noticed because it is an internal defect of the car, but the consistency and urgency of the danger i decided to take it to repair i made the appointment for november -15-2018 @ 7:00 am to 1-888-663-8613. from that day november 15, 2016, i left my vehicle at the camelback dealership at 1550 e. camelback rd. in phoenix, az, toyota, and to date they have not repaired or returned me. i have made many calls but they do not give specific answers .today is 12-05-2018

My car has 4 codes on it and they are all airbag malfunctions.

I have a 2004 toyota solara, dash is cracked and sticky right where airbag is. i called toyota and ask because i was told that they were fixing this default. i never received notice of these fixes. i called toyota and they refused to help or answer why i never received notice of these fixes. they are refusing any help. i purchased this car new and it has less then a 100,000 mile. rep very rude and refused to give me her name and refused to give me her manager. please help i am disable and need my car. they never sent me any notice of fixing these problems. crack is so close to were airbag is and she said not her problem. please help!

Top of dashboard around passenger side airbag is splitting open. other toyota;s from the same year have a dashboard fix thru toyota. not camry's. concerned that airbag may not work correctly. or come out of dashboard.

I was traveling at a rate of 30 mph and failed to stop at a traffic light hitting an equinox. my toyota camry airbag did not deploy and i have multiple chest wall injuries from hitting the steering wheel. both airbags deployed in the equinox.

Noticed slight swelling of the passenger side airbag over a period of a few months. appeared that the upper seam of the cover was widening. yesterday when driving home noticed it appeared larger than usual. upon getting home too a picture, as the airbag seam had begun to split and can see a red foam like substance through the split. called local toyota dealership and individual i spoke with was vague, had never heard of anything similar or any airbag recalls with toyota. seemed distracted and rushed, although it was about an hour til their official closing time. proceeded to call toyota customer service. spoke with a very nice agent who searched for recalls based on my vin number. she came up with no recalls but expressed similar concerns as myself of the airbag deploying and causing injury or accident. she assigned me a case number but advised me to have it looked at at a toyota dealership. after researching online, it seems like a problem that many have noted...same description and very similar pictures.

There is no horn after the air bag light came on so i called conicelli toyota in springfield pa, but they said only passenger side airbags were a problem so i would have a 115.00 dollar charge plus labor & parts so i can not pay that now so he said just call back when you can? & hung up well the airbag didn't just light up for no reason? i am the only driver & the only passengers ever are my grandchildren!! i only get ssdisabilty so i guess i will have to drive it the way it is?

Dash airbag light came on and the passenger air bag sensor showed off even through someone was in the seat. first the dealer tried to reset system, but two days later light came back on. took to dealer second time and they had trouble finding issue at first. issue traced to airbag switch under back seat. learned that while light is on entire airbag system fails. dangerous situation and surprised by lack of redundancy in such an important system. cost of repair seems very excessive at $1,000 for a sensor, but have little choice. i realize that the car is ~10 years old, but failure of this component seem very premature. car is in very good condition with no excess wear or subject to abuse. *tr

.......just need to ask a question, in light of the stories on air bag,the light on my dashboard says..."passenger air bag off"......i called toyota and they asked if i were nearby and could i come in when i called (about 4 pm).... i said i was nearby and drove directly there (67th western, chicago. one of the tech's looked at the light and said "oh that light will go off when some one sits in the passenger seat ( knew it wouldn't)....he immediately went to the passenger side, sat down and the light didn't go off.....then he said oh, ur airbag light is on (behind the steering wheel) . he then said since ur car is not on the re-call list, we have to conduct an inspection..about $110 dollars, and then if we find something, the $110 will be applied to the charges. i said like what, he said it might be a sensor, it might be something else we don't know until we inspect it............................so, my question to you is how do you know that 2004 camry's are not included, and whether or not, toyota just wants to charge me for something that they should have covered.... secondly, 2 items on your recall list, i don't believe were done a) nhtsa #11v539000, nov. 9, 2011..........................and b)nhtsa#04v346000, july 13, 2004.......................thank you for your assistance and advice. *tr

We own a 2004 toyota camry, purchased in or, registered in wa since 2005. we have had the passenger airbag sensor reset at least 6 times since purchase, both in or and wa. the vast majority of these repairs done under warranty. michael's toyota in bellevue has stated that they "replaced" the sensor last time it failed but it once again has failed; which means the passenger airbag will not deploy in case of an accident. michael's toyota's service manager has stated that the last repair was the last one they would absorb. i believe this airbag sensor was not replaced and remains faulty; either by design or in this particular one. i am bringing it in for another repair tomorrow but expect a battle over the cost of repair being absorbed by the dealership. this failed airbag sensor means dangerous conditions for anyone sitting in the passenger seat in case of an accident. according to the wa state attorney general's office, this may be a known problem already. *tr

Since toyota is having all these problems i want to bring up a problem with my toyota camry that is a safety issue but has not caused a problem yet. it is out of warranty. about a two months ago i got an airbag malfunction light. i also noticed that the light on the console that tells you whether there is a passenger in the front passenger seat was malfunctioning too. so with someone in the front right seat, the indications are that the system thinks there is no one there so the airbag is off. i said something to the dealer but he did not mention anything about a recall. there is 122k miles on the car. maybe this is just some sensor that wore out but i wanted to mention it with all the other safety issues going on with toyota. *jb

To whom it may concern: without hearing the news related to toyota vehicle recall, i have felt really stupid how i could have had the accident. recalling the process of the accident, i might have to say it was weird. before the crash, i clearly noticed the red light and a stopped car just in front of me on n perkins rd, close to mcelroy rd in stillwater, oklahoma, and the distance was more than 20 meters apart at that moment. i pressed on the brake pedal as usual, but my car did not slow down until hit the car before mine, and the airbag did not pop out. my face was knocked onto the steering wheel and one of my glasses smashed, fortunately not making me blind, and two teeth in mouth were bleeding along with some scratches on my face. the car was totaled at the speed of less 40 mi/h. people love toyota vehicles for the reason of saving gas at the sacrifice of safety. shortly, the police and ambulance arrived. i declined any medical arrangement after being tested that my mind was under control and could make decision clearly because i was not sure whether my insurance covers the cost or not. and now, as the problem with toyota vehicles was disclosed, i feel my accident might also be due to the same gas pedal defect. (in stillwater, oklahoma, call: 405-372-4171 to request a report). insurance company safeco. *tr

Car was rammed on the passenger side of my vehicle. the air bag did not deploy and my seat belt did not hold me back. i was thrown forward against the steering wheel and seriously injured, though not permanently. both cars were totaled. *tr

The air bags did not work during the auto crash. the car was a total loss. *tr

I hit a deer between 55 and 65mph. i struck the animal with the left front, in the headlight area. i want to know why the airbags didn't go off. the car was a 2004 camry. i am thankful the air bags didn't go off, but wondering -why not. over $3600 in damages. thank you for any info you can give me. *tr

I bought a 2004 camry about a month ago from my local toyota used car dealer. a week later i told them front-end felt funny and needed to be checked. they said i needed an alignment. had that done. called them last week and said i still feel like there's some sort of front-end problem. my brake pedal is spongy and almost to the ground. sometimes i'm not sure if i'm going to stop in time. also told them my steering wheel was shimmying. i was told that the steering wheel was probably indicating a tire balance issue and they would charge me $50 to balance/rotate my tires. i decided to put the money toward new front tires instead hoping that would also reduce road noise. as for the brakes.... i was told that was standard for the camry models and was a known design issue but no corrections were in place that they were aware of. last weekend i was in a crash. my brakes failed! my abs did not engage and my airbag did not deploy. i was traveling about 30-40 mph on a highway when the person in front hit their brakes. i hit mine and continued to skid into the back of their vehicle. i had plenty of room to stop. there's no reason other than brake failure for me to have crashed. *tr
