Recently reported VISIBILITY problems on 2002 Toyota Camry

2008 toyota camry hybrid floor became wet due to roof drain hoses becoming disconnected from drain pan. consumer feels this should have been covered under warranty. consumer also found a tsb issued in april 2011. *kb

Tl*the contact owns a 2002 toyota camry. while driving 30 mph, the overhead compartment directly above the rearview mirror came down and struck the contact in the eye. the glasses she was wearing prevented the injury from being severe. the contact pulled off the road and learned that the cover to the compartment and the mechanism that controls the sunroof failed. she was able to close the compartment until she returned home, but it would not completely latch back together. the sunroof has never been used. the current and failure mileages were 54,000. updated 09/10/08 *bf updated 09/11/08 *jb

In heavy humid, hard raining weather, the dehumidifier, air-conditioning unit ceases to operate and a green light flashes. i completely fog up while driving. *nm

On two separate occasions the windshield has been broken by low impact road debris thrown up by another vehicle. i have experienced stronger impacts in other vehicles with no or considerably less damage.

Strong glare in windshield due to reflection of sunlight off top of dash above instrument panel. this is very distracting to see through during bright sunlight and makes driving dangerous.

While driving in inclement weather water would come in from the windshield and leaked down from the windshield onto foot board. the gas and brake pedals became slippery. driver took vehicle to the dealer, and mechanic determined that the windshield needed to be replaced. driver informed the mechanic that this problem still occurred ,and had not been resolved. *ak

dealership indicated sun visor could not be used, and curtain airbags would not activate. consumer felt it was a design flaw. *ak

Toyota dealership would not touch consumer's vehicle nor repair it because they couldn't see a leak. *ph water was leaking from the right rear door handle. there had been four unsuccessful attempts to repair the sunroof leak. having to wait for the field technical specialist to repair the leak, mold and mildew had developed in the roof area, door handle and the right back seat cushion. vehicle had yet to be repaired. *ph

The automatic dimming inside rear view mirror does not dim sufficiently to eliminate glare from the headlights of cars behind me at night. *nlm

2002 camry le,50k miles always pulls to left. has been to dealer and various shops. steering wheel shudders and vibrates at any and all speeds. problem is structural. brakes are constant problem. sunroof will not seal correctly therefore rear floor is now wet. now experiencing electrical problems. would have been better off buying a 1950 studebaker! and gm is in trouble? last toyota for me. car is unsafe. *tr

While traveling on indian head highway, consumer swerved to avoid a deer, instead swerved to the right/lost control and hit a guard rail. upon impact, front air bags failed to deploy, driver suffered injuries, and vehicle was demolished. in addition, there was a sulfur-like or rotton egg odor coming from exhaust system. also, brought vehicle to dealer for following problems: poor alignment/engine check light/fuel injector/ spark plugs, mirrors, and structural defects *ak

Consumer states when she cuts on her vehicle their is a rotten smell when the heat is on. ts

Consumer states every time he gets into his vehicle it's a terrible smell do to the defrost. ts

Have very serious concerns with brake system on my car. brakes repaired on numerous occasions . consumer feel this problem could lead to a serious automobile accident if not corrected. *bf nar *jls the rear brakes were noisy and made a grinding sound. the front brakes vibrated, the consumer replaced the front brake pads and rotors. the consumer stated that the trunk flaps and clips were installed to fix the problem. the left front door kick panel came loose. bond pak primer applied to fix the problem. the consumer stated that the vehicle shimmies when driving at high speeds. vehicle front wheels out of balance. the problem was not with the wheel balance but with the brakes. rotors where warped. the consumer stated that the moon roof does not open smoothly it jolts and shakes the car roof. the consumer smelled a rotten egg smell when the heater and air conditioner was used. the consumer was told that it was burning sulfur and it would diminish at 25000 miles. 35000 miles the smell was still there. *tc the rear view defogger was replaced.

When i step on the brake pedal of my 2002 camry xle, the pedal can be depressed to such an extent that my foot also rests on the gas pedal causing the engine to rev up and the car not to stop as expected. this has occurred 3 times since i bought the car. date below is approximate. *nlm the interior rearview mirror is an auto dimming type and does not have a manual device to orient the mirror when driving at night. the consumer states the mirror does not dim sufficiently (or at all) to prevent annoying glare from the headlights of following vehicles. the mirror must be manually tilted at night causing loss of mirror use.

A strange odor was coming into cab of vehicle. took vehicle to dealer, and dealer stated it was carbon monoxide. consumer stated that sunroof was vacuuming fumes back into vehicle. please provide any further information.*ak

Consumer states the door lock motor was replaced.*jb
