Exited freeway on offramp, came to an intersection waiting to turn right. when i started right turn, i noticed that the steering radius appeared to be blocked or significantly diminished as i couldn't adequately turn right, and was leaning hard on the wheel, so the turn was too wide given the loss of steering to the right. the steering returned to normal operation after the vehicle continued straight.

I called my dealer about a recent recall notice i received in the mail. they informed me that they would be welding the threads on my center drag link. this prevents the steering wheeel from ever being adjusted after an alignment. this now creates another safety issue with a steering wheel that will be way off center. so much for the 1- & 2 positions. this so called fix is is a disgrace! it calls for welding an adjustable part of the steering linkage rendering it non- adjustable when having the front end aligned in the future. not to mention the effect of welding, potentially causing a problem with the integrity of the metal. the correct fix for this safety issue is to replace this steering linkage component, the entire drag link! not do a "back yard, shade tree mechanic" weld job on the steering linkage of all things! i am appalled that nhtsa approved such a thing. please revisit this issue and do the right thing. require chrysler (fca us llc) to replace this defective part with the proper part. note.... chrysler is not welding the nuts on the drag links on trucks coming ...

Fca completed a sub-par repair on a defect related to their recall notice v06. this 'repair' was completed on my new 2018 ram 2500 power wagon prior to me taking delivery of the vehicle (i am the 1st owner). the 'repair' relegates what is designed and required to be an adjustable steering drag link into a fixed, non-adjustable component by welding the jam nuts to the adjusting sleeve. by doing so, future steering alignments will require additional time and expense to the customer because fca wants to save a few dollars instead of properly repairing the vehicle as part of the v06 recall campaign. fca redesigned this component for the 2019+ models and the newly designed component is fully compatible with prior model years. i have purchased the redesigned component at my own expense because i do not feel safe with an adjustable part that was welded by a non-certified welder and wasn't designed to be welded. the materials are dissimilar and any weld will be subject to failure unless careful consideration was given to the amperage and filler material being used to complete the weld.

I received a safety recall notice via mail. drag link v06/nhtsa 19v-021. responded to dealer for information regarding repairs. was informed that the fix for this recall is welding the lock nuts to the adjuster sleeve. this is no fix. this is a farce, this will eliminate the ability to adjust the alignment in the future. there should be parts replaced. not welded together. i do not accept the fix for this issue.

Driving in my neighborhood about 20 mph coming up to a stop sign hear this howling noise if you will. then when i hear it instantly something grabbed and locked and stopped me! i've been having issues with my transmission slipping, well not slipping but between gears. like the rpms were going up but nothing was moving. i'm not talking about the rpm gauge on the truck going up, it's just a rev up sound. then will catch and go i'm guessing it's all with the transmission. i'm just glad i was only doing 20 mph instead of hwy speed when it locked up

Unknowing ling had fca dealership perform recall 19v-021, drag link assembly. by the dealership conducting this it now makes my vehicle illegal for towing per the federal motor carrier safety regulation ss 393.209 (d) steering system. universal joints and ball-and-socket joints shall not be worn, faulty or repaired by welding. the steering gear box shall not have loose or missing mounting bolts or cracks in the gear box or mounting brackets. the pitman arm on the steering gear output shaft shall not be loose. steering wheels shall turn freely through the limit of travel in both directions. i have contacted the fca dealership and they will not replace the part that they have welded therefore making my vehicle illegal if inspected.

Steering became extremely loose. it became so loose that if i hit a bump i would end up in the next lane of traffic. the upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and the entire steering linkage were replaced and the problem didnt get better. i had nearly 6 inches of play in the steering wheel. i'd appreciate if something was done for this so no more people have to go through this headache or safety issue.
