Truck caught fire while driving on highway. no warning signs on dash. started to slow down then smoke started coming from front of hood as if overheating. i pulled over to emergency lane, turned car off , then popping sound causing truck to go into flames and popping with big explosion and burning rapidly. i was able to get out because i had door already cracked open and ran away from vehicle.

81,000 miles on a eco diesel. on trip. cruise set at 75mph on i20 basically going straight. a warning light came on, something like 'electronic throttle.' it did not stay on long. immediately started loosing power but engine still running but not responsive. finally came to a halt and engine died. electricity still working as put on emergency flashers. started calling ram roadside assistance. my wife said she smelled something. about maybe 30 seconds later we could smell something on fire. seconds later smoke billowing from beneath hood. we bailed out. good samaritan stopped within a few minutes with fire extinguisher. he and i popped hood and flames are shooting about 18' along back of engine compartment. we got fire out but was still smoldering. had already called 911. about 5-10 min later rural fire department arrived and doused engine with water as it was still 'hot' and we were on shoulder of highway beside large area of dry grass. firefighters seemed to think it was electrical in nature. came home and began to research 1500 ram ecodiesels catching fire. seems there have been a number of instances and also seeing fca is not acknowledging a potential ...

After having the required fca emission update, the truck will hesitate when pulling into traffic or attempting to climb a hill until fully warmed up. pressing the accelerator to the floor does nothing for several seconds, then the truck accelerates dramatically. this nothing/everything, is dangerous to the driver and passengers of the truck as they may be struck by another vehicle that they are not able to get out of the way of. the truck is dangerous to other highway users as the nothing/everything throttle may cause a loss of control of the truck. this is a drastic change in the driving characteristics of this truck from the prior to flash settings. apparently dealers can not return the vehicle to it's previous settings, making them liable for the safety of the trucks driver and passengers. the epa lawsuit against fca has put numerous highway users ar risk!

I can not let my window up on the driver side. when i contacted the dealer which is milton rueben they advised me that this is a common problem but it's not a recall. if one or more vehicles are having this problem then this is a manufacture's issue and should be a recall issued.

When coming to a stop, a strong smell of diesel and def or anti freeze comes into cab. windows are up, it comes thru the vents.

I was driving my truck down the highway i stopped at a stoplight my truck stalled i saw smoke i popped the latch in the engine was on fire i was at a four way intersection waiting for my light to turn green wca ex news in burlington vermont caught the whole thing on film and they aired it that afternoon october 22, 2019 on the new news https://youtu.be/of0znw1h3rc

The aem recall was completed and the truck has a horrible turbo lag, which almost caused me to be in an accident twice within 15 minutes of picking it up. dealership will not look at it and this is an unsafe vehicle for road use.

Vehicle began to smoke from engine bay. motor cut out and then burst into flames.

Motor caught fire and destroyed vehicle. this was parked at a home.

Interrion of truck fills up with water because third brake light, manifold bolts and gaskets need replaced due to some issue. tapping noise from engine compartment.

After completing the emissions recall on the eco diesel a significant lag in acceleration has occurred. this lag impacts ability to keep with the flow of traffic when merging etc. this is a safety hazard as it is unpredictable and driver cannot determine acceleration by simply pressing the pedal down - sometimes with a 5-10 second delay in response to accelerate. this can occur from a stop, and merging onto a highway, from a stop light and making a uturn in the authorized areas, when merging onto a freeway ramp.

After v-08 emissions recall on ram echo diesel truck lost horsepower and getting lower fuel mileage. the truck barely has the power to move itself much less any towing capability. the fuel mileage went from 20 mpg highway to 15 mpg highway. have had the truck back in for service three times with no improvement. ram is telling me that there is not anything they can do to fix the problem, because it is a government recall. i did not purchase this truck to have it get 15 mpg on the highway and have no horsepower to tow. this truck is used as a ranch truck, so towing is what it needs to be doing. my only option now is to trade it in for a bigger truck at a financial hit on my wallet. this problem should of never been allowed to happen with the recall oversite. i know i'm not the only one having this issue because i have talked with many other truck owners and they all are having the same issue. i would apricate a fix to this issue because paying $50,000.00 for a truck only to have a recall take away the reason it was ...

I recently had the emissions reflash recall for my 2015 ram 1500 ecodiesel. i was told this would not affect driveability, fuel mileage, or engine performance. well, it has affected all. my fuel milage has dropped( used to get around 22 combined, lucky to get 20 now). the engine is lacking power and vehicle downshifts on grades where it didnt before. the turbo is also louder. i assume this is from them choking down the vanes on the turbo to account for less fuel being delivered to reach their emission claims. my biggest concern has to do with the extreme lack of response from a dead stop. it makes pulling out in traffic a safety concern. you can literally put the pedal to the floor board and the truck will barely move then suddenly it will take off. it does this no matter how much throttle is being applied it has a delay.this vehicle is no where near what it was when i purchased it. i feel that if this reflash is the best solution to them lying about their emissions to begin with, perhaps fiat, chrysler should be buying these vehicles back instead of making more ...

After i had the aem installed on my dodge ram ecodiesel the truck would loose power when trying to accelerate and when pulling out into traffic from a complete stop. on thursday july 11 2019 i was pulling into traffic from a stop sign and the truck stalled in the middle of the road! i was almost hit by the cross traffic. i currently have my truck at the dealership, however i have read many complaints in regards to the same problem others are having. i am scared to drive this truck and i am hoping the fca can make dodge come up with a fix for this issue or lemon law these vehicles as they are dangerous to the person driving and the others on the road!

After the fca emissions update my trucks performance has changed so much as to become a danger to me and my family. the truck will not go to get in traffic and i fear being t-boned by another vehicle. when you go to execrate the truck is sluggish and is very slow to go.
