I was driving my ram 1500 ecodiesel to and from work and noticed a knocking sound. scheduled a service appointment and the dealership diagnosed my truck with catastrophic engine failure. a new engine is required with a repair bill of $12,370. there are many people with the same issue, a law suit has been filed due to chrysler refusing to cover repair cost. i feel chrysler sold me a lemon, please conduct an investigation.

While waiting at a stop light and then stepping on the accelerator the ram went into limp mode and did not go past 15 mph. the ram did not turn on any light to notify me of an issue. i had to forcefully take it out of limp mode therefore risking the transmission to get damaged. there was a big truck behind me making a left who thankfully noticed the ram stopped working and patiently waited for me to move out of the way. i turned it off and turned it back on and it started working again. seems like a recall issue on rams as i have been reading this has happened to hundreds of people.

My truck started leaking coolant out the rear of engine down transmission and on the ground and motor wouldn't hold any coolant in it so i called fca customer care and they told me vehicle is not driveable to get it to ram dealership for repairs it's been sitting there 9 days now and i cant get anybody from dealer or customer care to get it worked on and diagnosed it's under factory warranty plus the ecodiesel settlement extended warranty coverage for all parts of possible problem and they will not loan me a vehicle of any kind and i'm in need of my vehicle repaired and back to being able to drive it ,i call ram customer care everyday and keep getting told nothing about it getting repaired or problem located

The vehicle listed on multiple occasions has completely shut-off as my speed is reduced while making a turn or coming to a stop at speeds below 15. no check engine light or codes have been recovered to show if something is malfunctioning or is wrong with the vehicle.

Was told the exhaust manifold bolt/studs warped and snapped and the exhaust manifold is warped, this happened on the driver side first but was covered under warranty but now happening on driver side out of warranty. was told my dealership they see this often and was told fca has fixed the problem in newer years by using stronger material in the bolts. this informs me that fca knows of the problem but the dealers won't cover it as a design defect. clearly there is a design defect with the exhaust manifold bolts as they should not be doing this and manufactures are suppose to account for these parts to see extreme temp changes. this has happened now twice to me but because i am no longer under warranty they won't fix the problem. the fist time was before 60,000 miles and now the other side is happening at 76,000 miles. to summarize the problem is warped exhaust manifold bolts and the manifold itself.

Had aem flash caused 10-15% mpg loss as well as throttle lag, loss of acceleration fca said there would be no change in performance or mpg

While driving at interstate speeds for approximately 130 miles (2.5 hours), vehicle sputtered and lost power, it stabilized at~40 mph. a check engine light and red lighting bolt displayed. we exited the interstate and made course to a dealership utilizing smaller hwys. en-route to the repair shop, at about 40 mph, vehicle started emitting smoke to include inside the cabin. stopped the vehicle and evacuated all 4 people inside. flames and heavy smoke soon became visible as we watched from afar. large flames grew and quickly engulfed the whole vehicle. fire department arrived and put out the fire.

Wasn't sure if this fell under power train or engine itself. 2014 ram 1500 3.6l engine. oil filter housing is plastic. noticed an oil leak upon changing oil. brought to dealer and hoped it fell under power train warranty. did not qualify so i'm out almost 1,000 for the repair. researching, this is a known common problem. dealer attributed it to being over tightened filter housing. well research shows this happens due to the temperature cycling over time. oil leaking onto the engine manifold creates a fire hazard under the proper conditions. manufacturer should put forward a recall to replace the housings or design one that is metal for an adequate replacement.

The lifters on the 2 cyl. that shut off to save fuel failed and ruined the cam shaft. this happened on my 2010 and now on my 2014. it started by skipping an lower rpms as you speed up or on an incline and then one day it set a check engine lite and skipped all the time.

The truck has an exaust leak. it's on the passenger side manifold. the bolt broke for some reason and is a big common issue in these trucks. there needs to be a recall because the bolts used wasnt strong enough to with stand pressure and corrosion. my cruise control also no longer works like it should. it will go into cruise control very rarely and when it does it's hard to get it out. i have to shut the truck off most of the time to get it out of cruise control mode. the lights that luminate the press buttons in the steering wheel flicker randomly. so it tells me it must be a wiring issue of some sort. i've contacted a dodge dealer ship and they are aware of the problem but they refuse to fix it as they say it's normal wear and tear. i'm afraid with the exaust leak the extra heat in the engine bay may result in melted wires or even worse a fire. thank you for reviewing this problem.

Noticed a small loss of radiator fluid, no visible leak, but did receive letter relating to a diesel egr cooler defect. now am concerned about steam leaking into my engine oil and thus contaminating the engine oil with damaging effects on the engine internal parts. egr valve should also be evaluated as it directly effects egr cooler.
