Handle on door came off recall on air bags

Takata recall took in for service/repair and now warning light is on. have received several notices to bring car into a dealer to have the recall fixed regarding the takata airbags. i have had no warning lights or any issues up until bringing the car in for repair for the recall on the takata airbags. upon taking car to stevens creek nissan workorder 170159 july 11, 2018, my car was returned to me after what was noted on the work order as remove and replace air bag inflator, campaign pm685 versa hatchback. my car is a 4 door sedan, not a hatchback. upon driving off with my car the warning light "airbag" is no flashing and will not go off. this indicates something was not done correctly and now nissan refuses to correct their error unless i pay out of pocket for a dieanostic plus repair fees and labor. i have never had any issues whatsoever with my car until taking it into stevens creek nissan to have a recall for the takata airbags addressed. before i seek any legal action i wanted to reach out to you for some assistance. how safe am i driving my car with this warning light "airbag" ? why would a recall on the takata airbags cause a issue after they were addressed/fixed by nissan stevens creek? am i to be killed on the road or worse before nissan/takata will take responsibility for a recall, fix, error?

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 nissan versa. the contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated after the vehicle was serviced per an unknown recall campaign at baytown nissan (5445 i-10 east, baytown, tx 77521, (281) 394-1995). the contact was concerned for his safety and took the vehicle back to the dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repair due to the diagnostic and repair fees. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. the recall information was unavailable. the approximate failure mileage was 42,757.

Between notice for the passenger side air bag recall and then the recall for the driver's side air bag, this process has been unreasonably long and required far too much effort on my part to resolve. at every step this has required far too much of my personal attention and time. the only way i've been able to make this recall process work for me is by setting up a google alert about nissan recalls to remind me to call them periodically. otherwise they would never inform me about any developments with this recall. when i finally called them again they required far too much information from me just to give me information about the recall. it's like they just want to put so many roadblocks on this process to make sure that most people just give up and drive unsafe cars instead of getting them fixed. and that's at each step. i give all this information when i talk to one person then i talk to someone else and have to give them the same information and then the next and so on. i can't believe how much time this process wastes. and finally the dealership is ready to replace the driver side air bag. i should be grateful and happy that the process is finally over but they tell me that they've had the parts since february and ask what my problem is getting this fixed. february. they didn't send me any notice about this and the recall hasn't been updated to show that parts are available, and it's my fault somehow? nissan has to be held to account for this inefficient and wasteful process. i don't imagine most people would stick through this process the way i have and that most people would end up simply not getting their car's fixed. there will only be more and more casualties if nissan isn't forced to make their recall process reasonable and sane.

Takata recall ~ i traded this car in for a newer one. because of this recall, no fix existing, not knowing when a fix might come in, i had to take a $500 loss. will i get reimbursed for this? thanks

I got a recall notice from you and i have attempted to call several nissan dealerships and they state that they do not have the parts until sping and they do not have any loner cars to give out and do not know when they will have more loaner cars. now my airbag light just went on and will not turn off. it seems to be a problem with the airbags. its really dangerous yet, these dealerships do not take this serious.

Takata recall on october 21, 2017 we took our 2009 nissan versa into the nissan dealership in abilene texas after scheduling the recall replacement of both airbags. upon picking up the vehicle the same day we were told only the passenger side airbag was replaced because they did not have the driver's side airbag. i was told by the service advisor that due to takata going out of business the replacement airbag was not available and could take several months before becoming available. i asked about loaner vehicle at that time and she indicated their dealership was not providing loaners due to low inventory. she gave me nissans 800# and told me they would set-up a rental from enterprise. however, the vehicle was being used by our 20 year old son who is a student at a university in town. she said he couldn't obtain a vehicle until he was 21. a few day later i called nissan consumer affairs and was told to call back after our son turned 21. on 1/2/18 called nca back, they told me a "regional specialist" would call on 1/3. at 4:58 cst on 1/3/18 i received the call back, but it was someone calling on behalf of the reg.spclst. essentially telling us the abilene dealership had no loaners, and that the enterprise the dealership used had no vehicles either. she stated they should be getting the replacement parts "asap" but would give me no timeframe. so i asked her if my son had to risk his life by continuing to drive the vehicle for an unspecified time period until then, she would not respond to that question. as a parent with a son who is about to graduate from college and begin his life independently how am i supposed to accept this outcome. nissan says they have had no problems with the driver's side airbag, but is a young life worth the risk? apparently it is to nissan.

There is a recall on my vehicle's airbag on the driver's side but parts are not available to fix the problem until spring. this makes me feel very unsafe driving my vehicle until then. what happens if i get in an accident before a free repair is made available to me?

Takata recall - both drivers side and passengers side of my vehicle have been recalled. when i called the dealership closest to me, they told me to come in to get my airbags replaced. when i went in, they told me that the driver's side airbag would not be ready and that they would get in contact with me that day to set up my rental vehicle while i waited for the airbags to be available. after calling again, i have heard nothing from them for 2 weeks.

Takata recall i received a notification in the mail, called the number, but was told it will be until "spring" until i can have my car's driver and passenger airbags fixed. until then, instructed to drive my car.

Takata recall: called dealership in burns harbor, in on 12-02-2017 regarding need to get fix for safet recall. i was told by salesman that company has not released parts for fix yet. he said note says it will be in spring 2018. i asked about loaner car and he said dealership is out of loaner cars.

Takata recall .. i was informed by the dealer that the part that is required to fix/replace the recalled airbag will only be ready possibly in spring of 2018...i could get into an accident before then and die from this recall of the airbag by the time spring comes around.

Takata recall

Takata recall dealer said can't be fixed until the spring 2018

Takata recall: remedy for this safety recall is not happening in a timely manner - replacement parts are not anticipated for another 6+ months. dealer is providing a rental car in the meantime but it isn't suitable for winter driving conditions and the affected vehicle is depreciating in the meantime.

Takata recall. i went to nissan slidell dealership and they replaced passenger side airbag but i was told it was driver side. so i went looking for passenger side. i fond that nissan covington dealership had this replacement. so i went to covington they in turn tell me it was the passenger side that was replaced. so i had to wait till spring of 2018 for that replacement. i am afraid to drive my car that someone will hit me and the airbag kill me.

Nhtsa # 16v349000 air bag, nhtsa # 15v573000 suspention. and tpsa tire pressure monitor. only issue far is with the tpsa. it stays on, after being resetted several times !nissan has no clue how to remedy this proble.passenger air bag has been turned off for safety, ha h ! thanks takata! nissan says there having problems getting right front sway bar. ya right!

Takata recall: my 2009 nissan versa was recalled for the takata air bags. i received a formal notice from nissan last spring and was advised of the potential issue but they did not have parts available to replace the part at fault. their remedy was to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until a replacement part was available. i finally got notice to schedule the replacement of the air bag inflator in late september. the service advisor at my nissan dealership advised there were 2 recalls for both front air bag inflators but they only had parts for the passenger side. service was scheduled for 10/2/2017 and the passenger side inflator was replaced within a week of my receiving the notice. however, the dealership service advisor told us that the driver's side part is not available an will not be available for 3 to 4 months. this is unacceptable to me - will nissan give me a loaner vehicle until the part is in stock? apparently, lives are in jeopardy and no one seems to be in a hurry to remediate the situation!

Takata recall i reached out to a nearby nissan dealership, nationwide nissan based out of timonium maryland. they attempted to take possession of my vehicle from september until march because they did not have airbags in stock. they tried to force me into signing a waiver that would prohibit me from driving my own vehicle.

Takata recall received nhtsa recall 17v-449 pertaining to the driver's side airbag. the recall discribes the condition as dangerous to the driver of the vehicle. contacted mcgavock nissan in lubbock texas due to purchasing the vehicle at this dealer. service department told me to just drive the car that it was not an issue. when i asked about the complimentary loaner i was told that wasn't going to happen. this is my commuter car for work, so now i have to find another vehicle to drive until the parts are available. i don't understand how this dealership makes this my fault.they seem to take no responsibility on the matter. is there no avenue for the vehicle owner to take as far as getting the complimentary loaner car mentioned in the recall notice. when i call all the phone numbers given, they just circle back and send me to another number that circles me back again. the same dealership damaged the dash on the passenger side when repairing the passenger side airbag months ago. it's like i bought a new car that i can't use and it's my fault. if nissan isn't going to honor a recall that they chose to send out, why did they send it out in the first place. nissan is just shifting responsibility for their shortcomings to their own consumers. if i continue to drive the car and it explodes in my face, nissan with say that i had been warned of the problem and shouldn't have driven the car. however, they give you no alternative because they have no intention of providing a complimentary loaner car.

Takata recall - i never got notice for either of our vehicles needing a repair and it's been longer than 60 days since the recall date. we have two vehicles that are recalled. i just happened to find out on social media that there was a recall.

I received a recall notice saying that my driver side airbag made by takata needs to be replaced and that parts will not be available until the spring of 2018, and that nissan would supply me with a loaner car until the parts were available, when i talked to the dealer ship they said that i'm not eligible for a loaner because i'm only 23 years old, meaning if your under 25 it's ok to drive a car that could take your life. also i found out that my passenger side airbag and front springs have a recall on them that i was never notified about, so my question is are company aloud to leave unsafe vehicle on the road leaving me to hope nothing will happen because of my age? i have no tickets or accidents and i've been driving sense i was 16 years old. thank you [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*jb

Received passenger airbag warning this spring. my daughter was forced to drive around with everyone in the back seat. months later we get a recall for the driver side airbag. now my daughter can't even drive the car! replacement parts aren't expected til 'spring 2018' which is months away. what am i supposed to do with this car during that time?

Cannot get loaner car for air bag recall that my cause death letter promises a loaner car, but nissan dealerships refuse to help and even tell me don't worry car is ok.
