We have classified the 71 complaints from 2004 Nissan Titan about SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC into the following categories.
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. the contact heard a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. he noticed that the seams near the rotors and the plates were leaking gear oil, which caused him to constantly add a quart of gear oil each time the failure occurred. an independent mechanic also diagnosed that the rear differential plates and seals needed to be replaced due to premature deterioration and an internal fracturing. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
Just last friday (03-15-2013) afternoon, while looking over the truck- i decided to look underneath it to give it a once over. earlier in the week i had noticed the brake pedal kind of spongy(especially in the morning). i thought there might be a problem with the brakes. to my surprise i found that both rear axles were splattered with fluid(axle grease).i had read that this was a problem with early model titans. i went into a titan forum and found there were a lot of folks, that owned these trucks-having the same problem. in the forum there was this very site to report this issue.so thus this writing. *tr
Brake failed while driving on freeway while braking due to traffic congestion. dealer confirmed brake failure due to computer malfunction. *tr
Leaving work at 5:00 pm. started truck and got to stop sign everything was fine. turned left onto major street and when approaching first stop light brake peddle went almost to floor. it felt really spongy and made a grinding noise. had to run up on curb to avoid going into intersection. car did come to a stop and i noticed brake light was on. i turned truck off and started again. brakes were back. did a search for this description of failure and found several threads with tons of trucks having the same issue. it seems to be a bad delta sensor. nissan knows about this but does nothing. hopefully it doesn't take a serious accident for them to do something about it. just search for nissan titan delta sensor and you will see all the vehicles with problems. i was referred to this site by nissan. they said they couldn't do anything until they were told to by nhtsa. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. the contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the brakes were applied, but the pedal depressed to the floor and the vehicle coasted to a stop. the contact also stated that the brake, slip, and vdc lights were intermittently illuminating on the instrument panel prior to the failure. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where it was inspected and the contact was informed that the vehicle needed a software update. the manufacturer was not notified and the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 53,067 and the current mileage was 54,000.
Brakes feel like the abs has engaged and the following warning light on the dash come on; brake, vdc off, slip, and service engine. this started happening soon after i purchased the truck new. dealer ran diagnostics but couldn't find anything. this problem has happened well over 20 times while backing out of my driveway and driving at high and low speeds. once this happens the brakes feel mushy and make a loud grinding noise. the only fix is to stop the truck, put it in park and stop and restart the engine. this is dangerous when it happens on the freeway. the occurrence of this problem is very intermittent. last occurrence was on july 25th and before that july 18th. it may go a month or so before happening again. two other employees at my company also have 2004 titans and have the same problem. my local nissan dealer suggest that the next time it happens to bring it to them so that their mechanic can see the issue first hand.
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. the contact stated that the vehicle would shake excessively whenever the brakes were applied. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic, who informed the contact that the front rotors and brakes needed to be replaced with upgraded versions. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. no repairs were performed. the failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 11,289.
My brakes started to fail. upon inspection it was determined that my rear axle seals had failed. fluid has leaked all over the bottom, into my brakes. resulting in total brake replacement. it is very costly and i am currently trying to find a shop to fix. apparently it is mainly a dealer repair; how convenient. *tr
I drove about 20 feet when i heard a loud noise and realized i had fogot the parking brake on. i took it off and drove away. the next day i heard more noise and one of my rear brakes seemed to be dragging. i decided to take it to the dealer. on the highway, all hell broke loose with crazy noise and grinding, then it went away. this happened several times on the way to dealer. with my 4 year old daughter in the back seat i limped the car into the dealer with no emergency brakes working. thankfully we were all okay and i did not loose control of the vehicle. the dealer said it would be at least $1,700 to fix it as the whole rear axle needed to be replaced due to the seals blowing out and leaking out all over the pads. i have not had any problem with this vehicle except for brakes, brakes and more brake issues. i think the e brake being on may have caused the seal to blow out then the axle and brakes just melted. something is wrong with this vehicles brake design. if these seals are know to be bad by nissan they should at least recommend replacing them so owners can protect themselves and avoid accidents,
Pulling out of my apartment's parking lot when stopping at a stop sign by brake pedal went to the floor as if it had no pressure. as the pedal hit the floor a loud grinding sound came from the engine compartment. i put the truck in park, turned it off, started it back up and everything worked ok. went down the street a little more and bam happened again, this time in traffic. if an inexperienced driver has this issue this can and will cause damage to property or people. *tr
Brakes minimally effective without prior brake light indicating a problem. brake pedal chattered. noise produced associated with chatter from engine compartment. brake light illuminated after problem started. *tr
I was pulling out of parking lot at low speed and the brake pedal fell to the floor and i heard a grinding/clicking noise. the truck was almost unable to stop before oncoming traffic. i pulled back into the parking lot and inspected the brake assemblies and made sure there was fluid in the master cylinder reservoir. i cycled the ignition system a few times and started back up. the problem went away for the time being. *tr
While driving applied brakes , brake pedal went to floor and metal to metal sound heard in front end brakes, i stopped noticed brake warning light on . i turned vehicle off and restarted .the brake warning light went off and brake pedal went to working normal . this situation has happened at least 5 times in the last month. there have been numerous reports involving this same situation and it should be addressed by nissan before someone is injured are killed. i have made appointment with nissan dealer. vehicle mileage is 40,000. *tr
The brakes on my 2004 nissan titan have been replaced 3 times in the last 1.5 years. nissan admits there is a problem, and provided an upgrade kit the consumers have to pay for. i have the upgrade kit the last 3 times the brakes were changed, and they still go bad. this morning without warning the caliper dove in the rotor, and i nearly went' thru an intersection. something needs to be done about these vehicle now. there are thousands of complaints about the brakes on these trucks. when will the dot make nissan do something about this? *tr
Rear drum brake liner detached from backing plate while driving. a loud banging noise was made. the vehicle was immediately driven to a nissan dealer. a loaner car was offered to me. a technician diagnosed the following; the brake liner caused nonrepairable damage to abs sensor, drive shaft, dust shield, and brake pads. the truck had 65,757 miles on the truck.parts took 6 days to order. the bill was $2,300. nissan honored warranty on the drive shaft. total bill was $1,232,48. the damage was caused by the brake liner detaching from the backing plate, the loose brake pad caused the destruction. other work performed was repair of the evap system. *tr
Upon start up parking brake light on dash illuminated and remained on, however the parking brake was not set. once the vehicle was in motion the brakes became ineffective. the pedal was soft and there was a pulsing sensation. if i had not been going less than 5mph i am unsure if i could have stopped, i was able to coast to a stop and place the vehicle in park. once the vehicle was turned off and restarted all lights and problems disappeared and brakes functioned ok. i took the vehicle to the local dealer and they located a problem with the brake booster and/or master cylinder. *tr
I have a 2004 nissan titan king cab. i have on a number of occasions had major brake related issues. you are probably well aware that the titan had some initial problems with their brakes in the early models that were solved. however, the dealer has failed to solve more serious problems i and many others have had. in random situations, applying the brakes lightly and normally, the brakes basically fail to operate normally and when the pedal is depressed it offers none of the normal resistance and instead easily goes straight to the floor, emmediately this locks the brakes and causes the truck to come to a rapid and immediate lurching and sliding stop. so far, most times, i have be able to feel a subtle change in the pedal in time to change how i apply the brakes, but a few times i have been slammed against the seat belt and nearly hit my face on the steering wheel. often the problem is immeduately preceded by a small sound that sounds like a spring coming undone.( i know this may sound a bit rediculous, but it sounds like the sound a spring would make in a cartoon..."boing"). every time this happens the breaks will remain in the same state, mushy and causing an immediate lock up until i stop and turn the engine off and back on again. the brake light comes on when this happens and goes off after turning off the ignition. everything will be normal after restarting and the problem often won't reseurface for weeks or months. it happens to me about every 45-60 days and i can not reproduce it. when this first happend i took it to my dealer and they said they fixed it, but they did not. i found numerous reports of this problem online so this is real and not an isolated case. here are a few sites were drivers/owners are reporting the same problem : http://forums.fightback.com/showthread.php?p=28582 http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-general-discussion/59241-sudden-total-brake-failure. http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/titan/4289-2004-titan-brake-light-brakes-surging.ht. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. he noticed that the brakes were not opearting properly. he took the vehicle to the dealer for routine maintenance and he was informed that he needed new rotors. he stated that the rotors were replaced on june 28, 2005. he contacted the manufacturer however they did not offer him any assistance. the failure mileage was 57,000 and the current mileage was 60,000.
The most recent occurrence occurred yesterday 11/1/09 as i pulled out of a parking lot and put on my brakes and the brakes began to shudder and a spring like noise occurred. in addition the brakes were soft and scraping sound occurred when applied. this occurred each time i applied the brakes for the next 4miles until i arrived home. the brake light remained on the entire time until i arrived home. i called the dealer and made an appointment for today, monday. late saturday, i had to move my vehicle at home and noticed the brake light was off and the brakes worked normally without any sound or softness.the same thing happened about two years ago. at that time i drove the vehicle to the dealer and left the vehicle with the dealer overnight because it was late in the day near closing.. the next day the dealer said they took the vehicle for a test drive and it reacted normally and "it probably was some dirt/dust in and around the brakes causing the brakes to stick'.. there was no work done on the vehicle. today, the same dealer looked at my vehicle and ran some tests after i insisted this is the second time the same thing has occurred. this time the dealer found a defective/worn delta speed sensor and recommended to replace the brake booster. they said it is not covered under warranty as the warranty expired 1/1/09.
My brakes appear to make a groan and the brake pedal will shove all the way to the floor before stopping. this happens about once every couple of weeks while driving. i have found that if i pull off the road and restart the truck it appears to reset everything and the brakes are just fine. my truck is a 2004 nissan titan that has ~55,000 miles on it. i have no advance warning that this failure is about to happen it just happens without any advance warning. *tr
Under normal driving conditions the rear axle seals began leaking and damaged the rear brakes. the axle seals and spacers need to be replaced along with parking brake and rear brake pads.*tr
2004 nissian titan: rear axle seal leak causing oil to get on rear brake pads. *tr
My 2004 nissan titan has been having periodic complete brake failure without warning during normal driving conditions. this has occurred 7-8 times. started about 25,000 mi, currently at 34,000 mi. took to dealer on 8-1-09, dealer reprogrammed the computer, said it had something to do with the abs and vdc controls and that this would fix it, yesterday on 8-22-09 it happened again after normal driving as i was exiting the freeway, very scary. when the problem occurs, if you shut off the vehicle and restart, the brakes are back and seem to be working fine, they can go for a while with no problem, then one day they will just not be there, pumping the brake gives little brake effect and a noise emits from under the hood, a strange sound i have never heard come from a vehicle before, brakes will go to floor and will not stop if held, have to pump like crazy and resort to emergency stopping methods such as e-brake, downshift and rubbing tires against curb or driving into soft sand to stop vehicle. i went online and found this is happening to many other people with titans and armadas (same exact vehicle mechanically). this is very dangerous, i am used to old cars that have problems, this really catches you off guard. i wish to file a complaint as this vehicle is not safe for road. *tr
I am a owner of a 2004 nissan titan who have had several problems in the past. however, i almost got into a serious accident yesterday, as i had no braking on my rear wheels. after inspecting the rear brakes and why they failed, i noticed that my seals on the rear axel is leaking oil onto my brakes pads. *tr
2004 nissan titan crewcab sle -2 wheel drive. first time this has happened to me, coming to a stop sign i put on the brakes and all of a sudden i had no control of my brakes. heard loud noises like the abs was kicking in and out as i applied the brakes harder to get the truck to stop. this continued until i got the truck home. after further research on the internet with nissan titan web forums i found that other people have with titan's have experienced the same problems. from what i gather it sounds like it is the brake booster at fault. also i found out that once you turn off the ignition the system resets itself and everything seems to be back to normal. i think nissan needs to look into the brake booster problems that people are having and rectify the problem. nissan wants $850 or more to replace the brake booster (truck out of warranty). nissan needs to come clean and realize they have a problem with their titan's brake booster. *tr
Rear axle seals leak causing differential fluid to seep out onto the brake rotors. both front and rear brakes have had problems. *tr
2004 nissan titan brake failure. power booster sensor is going out and causes mushy and violant brake pedal -- unable to stop safely. sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. dealer flashed the brake computer...it did not work. said that the power boaster needs to be replaced at a cost of $900 plus...i think it should be recalled. xtreme safety issue. there seems to be a tsb out on it..but no recall. need a recall...people could be killed. *tr
Problem started gradually as occasional noises, such as "clunking" and rattling, from the wheels while driving. took vehicle in to dealer who could not find the problem. one day later while driving, heard awful grating noise from wheels and abs/vdc light came on. took vehicle to dealer who stated that the emergency brake pad broke loose and destroyed the rotor, the abs sensor, etc. ($1,200 in damage). during the two weeks after service, the brake light has illuminated about 3 or 4 times. when the light is on, the brakes react as if in abs mode and grip and grind while stopping. turning off the vehicle usually makes the light go off and the brakes then operate normally. the vehicle is currently back at the dealer, who stated they do not know what is wrong as they have not been able to re-create the problem. *tr
I have 27,000 miles on this truck, i was in 2 times for brake problems the last time they said it was fixed right due to the new brakes. i have the problem again at 27,000 miles and they say warranty is out!! this was under engineered and now its my problem. also the rear spring shackle broke sending the leaf spring into the bed of the truck denting it. i bought after market shackles and found the other side was cracked. *tr
My 2004 nissan titan recently started leaking gear oil from both axles in the rear. concurrently my brake pads starting absorbing the oil which in turn ruined my rotors, brake pads, and now is costing me a pretty penny to get it fixed. my mechanic said the local auto parts stores do not carry these bearings and seals and therefore must contact the original dealer to order them. after reading and following up on the additional complaints by many other titan owners, i am curious to find out what steps in nissan taking to recall these bad seals and bearings? why should us the owners have to fix costly repairs when nissan knows their production efforts were not properly tested before fielding the dealerships? please inform me how to get it fixed free of cost to me. *tr
2004 nissan titan - repeated problems with front brakes. rotors, calipers replaced or resurfaced 5 times. abs wheel sensors. currently no emergency brake - nissan states no adjustments to fix - on occassion front brakes fail to the point the truck will not stop. this happens with out warning. when it happens the brake peddle goes to the floor and you can hear and feel the front brakes vibrating. i have to turn off the truck, wait a few minutes and it will then work fine. there is no warning when this occurs. brake issues has been a major issue with the truck since the day i purchased. *tr
My 2004 nissan titan leaks profusely onto by emergency brakes. my emergency brakes do not work at all on a hill. the nissan mechanic has pointed this out to me while the truck was up on the rack. he stated that the left rear axle seal was and still leaking. i would have to replace the seal spacer and bearing, for a grand total of $171.00 for parts, and almost $200.00 for labor. this has happen repeatedly on all nissan titan trucks. there should be a recall on this item. owners should be compensated for their expenses on such a defective part. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. the contact noticed lubrication on his driveway. the dealer stated that the transfer case, rear axle seals, and brake shoes were faulty and needed to be replaced. the current and failure mileages were 71,000.
In july of '08, my wife called to tell me she was having a problem with our truck. she was afraid to drive it, as she reported a brake failure that and was nearly in an accident. she was exiting a parking lot to a busy road. as she approached the end of the parking lot, she braked to wait for a clearing in traffic. she said the brake pedal went to the floor, the truck made a loud rumbling noise, and the truck rolled out to the edge of the busy street until she pumped the brake pedal and stopped the truck. she left it there and waited for me, afraid to move it. i inspected the truck and found no mechanical problems. i figured that there was a fault with the abs system, which went away after the truck was turned off and the system was rebooted/self tested. on august 22, 2008, the fault returned. my wife backed the truck out of our driveway, and the truck displayed the same symptoms when she tried to stop at the bottom of the driveway. she avoided hitting a parked vehicle on the other side of the street. she left the engine running so as to not reset the abs computer, and called me out to check the truck. i could find no mechanical fault, and found the abs fully engaging when pressing the brakes, resulting in very little stopping power. pumping the brakes cause near full application of braking force, even at light pedal pressure. i determined that it was an abs issue. both times the fault occurred, the "brake" light illuminated. turning off the truck and restarting resolved the problem, confirming my suspicion of a software fault. i searched on line and found a nissan tsb that addressed the issue. i brought the truck to dirito brothers nissan in concord, ca to have the tsb applied, which involved a abs software update. i was surprised and upset to learn that the repair was not covered under warranty, as the software update was considered an "adjustment." i was charged $150 for this service. the service writer stated he saw a number of trucks with the problem. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. while driving approximately 50 mph on normal road conditions; proceeding to make a right turn, the "brake" warning light indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. pressure was applied to the brake pedal followed by a loud a clicking noise. the contact was forced to apply extreme pressure to the the brakes in order to slow the vehicle down. the contact was able to drive into a parking lot; however, the warning indicator light remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. the contact was able to continue driving normally. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. the failure was contributed to the "abs" and the computer code was reset. the driver side caliper also locked and a technician replaced the defective front caliper, front brake pads and resurfaced the front rotors. the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 87,000 and the current mileage was 87,773.
Abs fails when braking over rough terrain/potholes causing loss of braking power/locking up of brakes. *tr
I had total brake failure on my truck. the pedal goes completely to the floor intermittently during driving. dealer reports they cannot find any problems even after showing them that the pedal does go to the floor. i believe it is a faulty master cylinder or brake booster, and can cause injury or death if it happens on the freeway or at any significant speed. i believe there should be a tech bulletin and a recall notice sent out asap, and the repairs to be made under warranty by nissan. *tr
2004 nissan titan brake failure/judder nissan is aware of this issue and has yet to issue a recall. nissan has several tsb on this issue. the government needs to demand nissan recall and repair the brake system of these vehicles. *tr
Bought the nissan titan used in november of 2007. i recently found a wet spot on the driver's side wheel (inside) under the brake rotor. i took the truck to the dealership and they said it seems to be a pretty common problem with the titan. it's a leaking axle seal. this leak was causing brake fluid to leak around and possible onto the brake rotor, calipers, and pads. this is a very dangerous problem due to possible fire and or brake failure. *tr
My girlfriend owns a 2004 nissan titan. about a year ago the braking system started failing, so i purchased new brakes and no change. the problem continued until i talked to a mechanic and he told me to try the master cylinder. purchased a new one, no change. nissan claims there is no problems but when we press the brake pedal it doesn't want to stop. we can pump them a couple of times then it'll start to stop. nissan won't even take a look at it and the only reply we get from them is "it needs new brakes, or the brake pads are on backwards." we where browsing on the internet and say an article where there was a lemon law and the braking system but nissan still claims there is no problems with them. *tr
Nissan north america has incorrectly defined the condition "brake judder" as steering wheel shake, body vibration or brake pedal pulsation while braking (emphasis mine), especially at highway speeds. my problem manifested itself at highway speeds while no braking was being accomplished, and was extreme after the purchase of new premium tires (toyo open country h/t). while a fix has been offered for "brake judder" as nissan defines it, i was told at two different nissan dealers that it would not remedy my problem. my problem surfaced before the 36 month/ unlimited mileage limitation, but i did not utilize the warranty coverage because my situation did not fit the definition. an independent tire dealer mechanic (who used to work for nissan) indicated that defective rotors were indeed the problem, and internet forums and lemon law websites supported his claim. since i had exceeded the 36 month limit by 90 days, i elected to let the local independent tire dealer install the nissan parts. he was correct! problem solved (at least for now). i called nissans consumer affairs line to complain, and to let them know that i felt that a safety recall should have been implemented because of the extreme safety implications involved--and not the company cost saving measures of a couple of tsbs and a feebly modified basic auto warranty. nissan is acutely aware that they have a problem. she asked me what nissan na could do for me? i replied, "pay for the parts and labor that it cost me to fix my truck, which total $747.65." she asked if i had the receipts for the repairs and i answered in the affirmative. when i disclosed that and independent tire dealer had installed the nissan parts (done by a former nissan technician), reimbursement for parts and labor were resolutely denied because a nissan dealer didn't do the job (the same folks who told me i no longer had warranty coverage, and that the fix" would not remedy my particular problem). *tr updated 03/17/08
When trying to stop, at any speed, the brake pedal goes to the floor and there is a vibration from under the hood; can also smell brake fluid in the cab. took the truck in once for the vibration recall and they replaced the calipers, rotors and pads. then started having the above problem again and took it back to the dealership. was told that the computer needed reprogrammed and some switches on the power brake booster needed replacing ($550). have had it back 1 month now and doing it again. luckily this time was close to dealership and took it in and now they are saying i need a new power brake booster ($700). have owned 5 other nissan vehicles and never had this much of a problem, and wonder does someone have to die before a recall is issued for these problems that we are having with the brakes. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. the contact stated that while driving 10 mph or less over an uneven road surface and attempting to decelerate, the brakes would fail. the vehicle was able to be stopped by utilizing the emergency brake. the vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they informed the contact that they were unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle had reset independently and would not produce any failure codes. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 30,000 and the current mileage was approximately 60,000.
I have a nissan titan 2004 that i had for 3 years. the first couple of months everything was fine, but then my brakes would make this weird sound when i pressed the gas and the brake light would come on. i could not hit the brakes all the way because it would feel like if they were lock.. i had to stop in the middle of the road and turn off the truck and turn on again ,and the problem would fix it self. after a couple of times that it kept doing that , i decided to take to the dealer and they told me that the sensor light needed to be rested and that the problem should be solve. a couple amonths later it's started driving it again. it would maybe happens every other month . i used to always take the truck to get my oil change at the nissan dealer shop and since the dos courtesy check they told me that my cv axles needed some work done because something was wrong with them. of course they wanted to charge me a lot, so i had to say no. now i have a truck that needs to have work done and very expensive. now i can see oil leakage at the wheel bearing. my truck did not passed inspection this year because of that problem, so register my truck at another city and it passed cuz they were not checking those things. i have heard and read couple of the same issues that people are having with the back cv axle seals and bearings. why would i be spending money on something that i would least expected. i would like to see if this issue be investigated. i got 2 kids under the age of 3 and i'm very concern on their safety. if nissan is responsible for this , they need to take action immediately. *tr
I bought a nissan titan new in may of 2004. problems with the brakes were immediate. the dealer has replaced the brakes, rotors, etc. a couple of times due to defects. they now say that the brakes are out of warranty so i am doing it on my own and often. this past weekend i almost hit another car because i could not get the truck to stop. i went and bought another set of brakes and rotors. while changing them, noticed that the brakes calipers were cracked and rusted. had truck towed to nissan dealer, waiting on a decision from them to see if they will fix them. truck is under warranty, and extended warranty that i purchased from nissan. these were suppose to have been replaced by the dealer before, but i don't think they did. i am paying a truck payment every month for a truck that basically sits in my driveway because we are afraid to drive it. we never know if the brakes will work. nissan doesn't seem to care, even though they have admitted that there is a problem with the braking system design. i fear that someone will be killed if nissan doesn't step up and put an end to the brake issue. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. while driving 55 mph, the driver could not stop the vehicle after applying the brakes. the vehicle went over an embankment. as a result, the driver sustained fatal injuries. the contact was unsure if the airbags deployed. the vehicle is presently being held by the hwy patrol. the vehicle had been taken for brake repairs 7 times and was released to the contact saying that the brakes were fine. prior to the crash the brakes had failed in october and the contact had the vehicle serviced and filed a complaint. the service manager told the contact that he believed that there was still something wrong with the vehicle and was fired from his position. during prior failures, the abs warning light became illuminated. the contact has reported the failures to nissan with no resolution. the current and failure mileages were 83,000. this is the second complain that the contact has filed. the prior incident reported was 10/07 updated 01/24/08 *bf the dealer stated performed recall dealing with seat belt, heating and a/c is intermittent, vehicle is overheating and rear taillights inoperable. updated 01/24/08 *tr
Applied the brakes, and the pedal went to the floor with a vibrating, grinding sound. the vehicle slowly came to a stop. this occurred several more times, so i drove the vehicle directly to the dealer. the dealer repaired the problem by "reprogram vdc per tsb ntb06-040". *tr
Rear axle seals leaking onto rear brakes and wheels. first noticed on 11/30/2007; however, the extent of the leak and oily residue indicate that the problem has existed for sometime. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. while driving 60 mph, the steering wheel vibrated and the brakes failed to instantly engage. the contact pulled over and looked under the hood, but could not locate the cause of failure. the vehicle was taken to the mechanic and he stated that the brakes needed to be changed. the vin, engine size, and number of cylinders were unknown. the current and failure mileages were 63,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 nissan titan. the contact stated that the rotors on his vehicle have been replaced three times. the first time was in october of 2005 due to a safety recall. the second and third times were due to so much corrosion that the brake pads detached from the brakes. the power steering line has been replaced three times in two months. he also stated that the power steering failed intermittently while driving. the vin, purchase date, speed, and recall number were unknown. the current mileage was 23,000 and failure mileage was 12,000.
