About a week ago, my car started making noises when idling, which i thought little of because my car only has around 76,000 miles on it and is well taken care of. over the next few days, the noise became a full-on rattle (like an amplified version of bike gears grinding). when driving, the car will lurch forward and will jerk even harder when turning. within the first few minutes of driving each time i use the car, it has no power and feels as if it wants to "pull back" and hinder me from moving forward. i've taken the car to two mechanics and have had the transmission looked over. both mechanics believe that the transmission is the underlying problem. after researching cvc transmissions on other 2014 sentras, i've discovered that many other owners have had the same issue with even less mileage than my own car. many of these sentra drivers felt unsafe driving their vehicles. i too, feel that continuing to drive my car is a hazard to me and other drivers as the faltering and jerking of the engine are unpredictable which could cause a potential wreck. nissan sentra transmissions from 2003-2010 have been recalled to ...
I'm currently financing a car. my oil runs out too fast. in one month i probably used 1000 miles max and i've already had to get a oil change 3 times. i'm afraid my engine is either going to lock up or blow up and as a young driver i'm very scared of my safety especially when driving on the parkways. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan sentra. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 85 mph, the vehicle failed to shift and the speed independently decreased to 70 mph without warning. the vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. the contact stated that the failure recurred each time the vehicle was driven a long distance. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a cvt cooler installed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
I was driving on the highway and suddenly lost engine power and car shut off and would not restart immediately. after waiting approximately 5 minutes the car restarted. there were a total of three different incidents ( so far) of this happening to my car. i had it checked by a mechanic and nothing could be found to be wrong ( no codes came up). i did some research and discovered that nissan had recalled vehicles for the same issue ( cam shaft and crank sensors overheating) . i called nissan and was told that even though my vehicle appears to have the same issue it is not part of the recall. however, it is part of the massive airbag recall which makes this even more of a deadly concern..nissan needs to recall all vin numbers that are having this shut off issue. when i called they were very standoffish and unhelpful. i am not in a position to pay for costly repairs especially when it is an issue that needs to be addressed and recalled by nissan....updated 08/25/15*bf the consumer has since traded the vehicle. updated 09/08/15
Randomly while driving in a highway at 60 mph the engine suddenly stops running and then turns back on. this could result in a crash since i lose control of the vehicle at that speed. i noticed there is a recall issued by nhtsa id # 03v455000 for nissan sentra 2001 regarding this issue. i contacted nissan by phone and they informed there are no recalls pending on my vehicle. i also contacted nissan by e-mail if my vehicle was or was not included in this recall. if not, i would like to know if safercar.gov can include my vehicle in the recall and have it fixed. *tr
As i was driving my car began to jerk. i could not gain any speed and almost cause two accidents because of the way it jerked. *tr
Have had the vehicle for 11/2 yrs as a certified nissan multiple problems like 2 transmissions and a engine starting 1 month after purchase now air bag light has come on and dealer says it is a defective airbag. nissan will not cover this. what other manufacture are they using for the airbags. *tr
It was driving ok on a school parking lot, no warning lights for check engine or battery; and after parking & turning off the engine the car did not restart anymore. battery is good, fuel pump is good too, no blown fuses, nothing seems wrong but simply it won't restart! *tr
