The car goes into a limp mode. cannot accelerate past 20mph. mechanic determined my transmission is bad. quoted $4,000 to repair. car has 87, 511 miles. should not be an issue. i was on the highway and almost got hit by other cars.
While driving 50 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle was merged to the side of the road and failed to accelerate until the economy mode was turned off. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. car jerks, shakes, vibrates.
While driving my 2013 nissan sentra fe + s on hwy and even inner city streets it seems to stall and loses power i need to know exactly what to do to make it safe to drive my vehicle if there is a way to take it back to a nissan dealership to have it checked
Transmission shifting on its own. accelerate and decelerate on its own. gear not fully grabbing.
The rpm in my nissan sentra 2013 started to fluctuate while driving it wasn't doing it too much at first but now it does it continuously and it's so annoying when i'm driving i took it to my nearest nissan location and they said it was the transmission and that i have to get it replaced which sucks because it' just reached 100k miles i have always had great maintenance with it i don't want to pay almost 5k for a new transmission when the mileage isn't even super high, i did my research and apparently there's a lot of other people that have the same problem with the exact model and make and with newer nissans too with lower mileage so it's just not fair i love my nissan sentra but this is just not fair i really believe there needs to be a recall for these cars with horrible transmission defects. please please nissan look into this
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan sentra. the contact stated that the check engine light illuminated and remained illuminated. the contact also stated that an odor of fuel was sometimes perceived. the vehicle was taken to a nissan dealer located in college park, maryland, where two codes popped up: p0456 and p101. the vent control valve seal-o-ring 16618-jf00a were replaced. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
Ive been having issues with my 2013 sentra sr sputtering randomly and out of nowhere shakes and completly shuts off no matter the speed im doing. which has me concerned as this is becoming a big safety issue now thru out the years its gotten proggresivly worse without any dealership being able to fix this issue cause the car shows no warning lights or a check engine light. this happens when i'm stopped and moving happens randomly and sometimes the car wont accelerate past 3 rpm's.
The car began to violently shake, was unable to accelerate while on the highway. car rpms increased the car did not move. traffic rapidly approaching behind me.dealership has informed me of transmission issue needs to be replaced. no warning sign, no check engine light forced to pull over at night on the side of the road.
Takata recall when i first step in the car to take a test drove, it seem like it was ok . it didn't have any problem but when i drove it home , on the highway, the car started to shake and it took about 60 second for the gear to switch. the car seen as thought it was overheating when i haven't even drove it long . i took it back to the dealer and he said “ i was covered with warranty “ and that “i wouldn't have to worry about paying anything.” he gave me a loan car and have been extended it for the last two months because my car still haven't been fix yet . i also found that my car was not covered under warranty by the warrant business because they said the car wasn't in good condition when i brought it. they denied the request of fixing the transmission. the dealer refuses to give me another temp tag and told me to leave him premises. i have been paying on a car that i have not had for two months and i believe that this is an unjust situation. i hope that the other customers aren’t getting treated like myself .
'tamara recall' i was driving when all of the sudden my car started jerking and the speedometer was racing up and down, i went to pull out on the highway and was nearly hit by a semi truck because the car had lost power and wouldn't go over 5 mph. the truck had to swerve to keep from hitting me. this car has a faulty cvt transmission problem is very dangerous and needs to be off the road. it happens with no warning. i called the dealership and they said it would cost $5000 to fix that i don't have. and i still owe $10,000 on the car.
On january 17, 2019, our 2013 nissan sentra died in the middle of rush hour traffic and put my husband at risk for being hit. my husband was on baseline road in phoenix, close to i-10 freeway. car died near driveway entrance by restaurant. tow truck driver said it's cvt transmission. so did our repair person, interstate auto. the code at nissan also said it's a faulty cvt transmission, which they know about. there is extended warranty to 120,000 for some vehicles, but they conveniently said our vin is not covered. we are at 119,000, so that's convenient for nissan. we then were referred to nissan consumer affairs and they said there's nothing they can do. they also said they had no idea we were the owners of the vehicle. we bought it from tempe auto nation in may of 2014, but it's a 2013 preowned certified. they told us the warranty was increased to 100,000 because of that, but they never let us know. they also said there is a recall from 2016, but we never got anything. again, nissan said they did not know we were the owners until 1/21/19. that's a lie! we've had the car serviced. it was bought from tempe auto nation with 4400 miles on it. they have our info in computer system, but now can claim they did not know. we were the only ones that brought it in, no one else. so now the car is not drivable because of faulty cvt transmission that put my husband and i at safety risk every time he/we drove it. especially not notifying us about passenger recall since 2016. please let me know who we need to talk to next. worst customer service ever! caught in several lies! i'm attaching document that they claim they've never heard of or seen before - claim they don't know anything about faulty cvt transmissions. asked where i got my info & i showed them. also, you may google it - all over the place.
Mass air flow sensor recall and components there of or intake fuel/performance reductors...check engine code p0101. while running the vehicle looses power and struggles to go faster entering freeways or up hills also have to use more gas lately. check engine light lit up...replaced the part to no avail...light is off a day or two then returns... which means issue is not fixed.
The transmission failed at 60,962 the car started started shaking, jerking and loosing speed and then it cutting off at the stop light. the car cut off on me getting off the highway i was at a light & then i was unable to proceed with traffic. i turned on the hazard lights & turned the heat off waited for the car to maybe cool off i really didn't know what was wrong & then i was able to restart the car & drive home i took the car to the nissan dealer ship twice & they told me it was the airflow filter after they claimed it was fixed it happened again i contacted nissan again and they finally admitted that this car has a bad transmission. there is no way a car under 100k miles should have problems with the transmission i bought this car @ 26k in 2016. now is costing me over 3,000.00 to fix my car . nissan is well aware of the transmission issue on these cars and instead of recalling them they continue to allow these cars to be sold over & over again again. i want a complete investigation into the on going problems with the 2013 nissan sentra's. i have lost power on the highway as well as main roads stopped at lights holding up traffic in dangerous situations i had this car towed in total of 5 times in less than 6 months.
I was stopped at a red light waiting and suddenly my car turned off.. it turned right on. this happened three times in the last 4 months.
Transmission failed at 85,000. i started having problems gaining speed; then the car would start shaking, jerking and pausing. i was driving on highway 152 on my way to san jose, ca when my car started losing speed and shaking. i thought i was going to get stuck in the middle of the road. it was terrifying. i made it to work and started doing research about what my car was doing and find out it was the transmission. i took it to the dealer and they confirmed it was the transmission. nissan tech. told me to call nissan usa, so i did. they gave a case number and they communicated with the dealer to confirm the transmission had failed. nissan agreed to pay part of the cost to repair transmission even though i told them that it was too soon for the transmission to fail. nissan is charging me 2000 to fix it. i honestly think nissan should start repairing all transmissions without a cost for customers. they know their transmissions have defects. i will try to sell my car as soon as possible as they are only going to give me one year warranty.
I purchased my 2013 nissan sentra new from the dealership in march 2013. my transmission was completely replaced within 1.5 years (28k miles) from purchase due to manufacturer defect. the problem is reoccurring about 3.5 years (77k miles). symptoms are similar to most reporting i've seen online. acceleration delays, car sputters, metal on metal sounds. my car came to a complete at an intersection with oncoming traffic coming from both directions. given my first transmission was found to manufacturer defect my 2nd transmission which is identically failing needs to be addressed same which it is not.
So many issues not even sure what it is. car will fail to shift into gear and constant redline, very dangerous when getting on the highway. car will randomly get no gas to accelerate until i turn the car off and then on again. transmission slips at 80k miles. or perceived to be slipping, car will drop rpm and then rise quickly jerking the car around. going down hill the car will quickly rise rpm over and over and the car will uncontrollably jerk very noticeably.
While driving the car will suddenly stop accelerating, causing you to have to let off and press down again on the accelerator. this occurs during driving and after turns.
While driving intermittant stalling, restarts right away, no check engine light comes on also may almost stall upon coming to a stop light, begins to idle rough, occurs very intermittant, when purchased pre-owned similar problem was rectified by replacement of some type of emissions harness has been back to dealer numerous times and they keep charging me for trying to repair and nothing seems to change still random stalling
Stalling without warning slowing down or coming to a stop intermittant has occurred for almost three years. nissan dealer unable to correct problem after repeated attempts 'no fault found, unable to duplicate complaint'. egi harrness replaced no change in 2016.
My name is [xxx] i purchased this vehicle for my wife [xxx] the vehicle is 73,000 miles with frequent oil changes and check ups. the transmission went on this vehicle and i took it to my mechanic. after my mechanic did a diagnostic report and extensive research he found that this particular make and model has had nothing but problems with the transmission. i took the car to a nissan dealership who advised me that nissan said they are at fault and will pay for half the price of a new transmission. i am a disabled, retired veteran and cannot afford $3000 to put in a vehicle that nissan knows they are at fault for. vehicle only has 73,000 miles on it and my mechanic said that it should definitely not have any of these problems . i would like to know if there is anything i can do about this issue. attach are all the reports from nissan, my mechanic, etc. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Transmisssion is not shifting correctly it sticks and stop. our car has. 44,000 miles on it. it sometime will not go forward
When i press the pedal gas the car doesnt work well .i cant drive higher than 40 miles because the transmition doesnt running well and sometime i have to pull over the car cause it doesnt even run 20 mile .eache stops signal i do is even worst.all this notes are in the city streets i cant drive on a highway because it doesnt run over 40 miles
Bought this car from dealer in august 2018 only 6 months ago i heard a noise but the dealer said that all the cars make that noise the noise has gotten worse and i know it is a rod bearing another mechanic confirmed that but dealer refuses to even drop the oil pan and check the rod bearings noise is getting worse brad fenton motors in ardmore oklahoma is where i took it too. the noise is worse when engine is cold and gets less noisy when warm. i signed to cancel my warranty but the never finished it hoping for a resolution to this problem.
Engine cuts off without warning no check engine light restarts right away after pulling off road when it stalls, may also stall coming to a stop without warning, symptoms occur randomly.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan sentra. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving at 35 mph. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was towed to the local five star nissan dealer located at 839 warren dr, warner robins, ga 31088 where it was diagnosed that the cvt was defective and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 8,000. *tt *tr
Car has only 13,987 original miles. while accelerating from a stop, accelerating from any speed, vehicle loses all throttle control / response, idle may hang at 3200 suddenly during acceleration then take 30-40 seconds to drop back to normal. you may or may not have warning lights and/or fault codes set. transmission shifting is erratic or none at all (stays in high gear). fault codes if any are most likely electrical circuit, low voltage type codes. warning lights may be traction / stability control, check engine, abs in any combination. the fault is moisture (water / condensation) collecting in a tail light and shorting the circuit which is connected to the engine / transmission electronics. the tail light may not have any sign of damage / cracks / holes but the water presence causing the short can damage or destroy the transmission if not corrected not to mention the possibility of an accident due to a stuck throttle at 3200 rpm in traffic. nissan is aware of this issue but has no recall at this time (waiting for the accidents i guess)
My car has around 78000 miles on it and the transmission completely died and i need a new one. i've been told by several mechanics that this is a problem with nissan and normally transmission should last at least 10 years. it has been 4... i am extremely upset since i owe 10,000 on the car.
In very hot weather the car will shake when stopping or sitting at a traffic light and occasionally the engine will stop. the engine has also stopped while the car is moving. this only happens on very hot days.
First is was the a/c went out frist then the transmission problem when me my husband was headed to work one day the a eighteen wheeler almost ram into use because the stop in the middle of traffic and wouldn't go any where.
Takata recall. driving from home from a road trip, i stopped to get gas about 300 miles from home when all of a sudden my car would not move when trying to leave the gas station to get back on he interstate! im furious ive only had this 2013 nissan sentra sr for 3 going on four years and to hear that my transmission has to be replaced is ridiculous!! ive only owned nissans and for my transmission to go out on me in such a short time is terrible. these cvt transmissions need to replaced asap. i can not come out of pocket $4,500 to replace this transmission, the sad part is i still owe on the car!! help, please.
Intermittant engine misfire, car will shut engine off while driving or ramp up rpm causing car to jerk forward. my daughter was driving 45 mph giing around curve when engine shut off , she coast to side of road. restarted and engine started misfiring. check engine flashed and then went steady. diagnostics showed p02 cyc 2 misfire. cyc 2 coil replaced and now two weeks later the car is misfiring, jerking engine was on, drove to nissan dealer they run diagnostic and it came back with no codes in history.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan sentra. while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine and traction control warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the soy based wire cable harnesses had been chewed and fractured by rodents and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired with more soy based wires and the contact was concerned that the failure would recur. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 42,059.
The transmission has a lot of hesitate and bad vibration while driving. check engine light came on and it's due to small evap leak but have replaced cap and still stays on once awhile u smell gas fumes. *tr
Purchased a 2013 nissan sentra with around 45820 miles on it.2 weeks later the transmission goes out. they replaced because it was still under warranty.received it back with problems. rpm would go up past 5 when acceleraring or passing. complained and never received a call back was told that was normal.. problem continues. even had a supervisor test drive and was told nothing was out of order.contact corporate they send me to a new dealer and its gears that are not shifting correctly. solution another transmission this time they expect me to pay but they are willing to pay half.unacceptable for a problem i been complaining about since receiving the vehicle back.obvious defect in transmission for nisan or in mechanics that work for them
The transmission on my car has now been replace twice, the car shakes, jolts and shut off. now for a third time while driving on the street the car shock hard and the transmission and engine fell. the car was unmovable. it was so dangerous i was in morning traffic and 3 cars almost hit me because the car stop in the middle of the street. had to get the car towed to the dealership and now waiting to see with what excuse the come out with. car always shakes since i tog it new in 2013. *tr
My car dose not accelerate right since a month ago. car went dealer 3times. 1st time , i go to dealer with recall letter about cvt. then problem still do it. 3days later, they did test drive and reprogram for transmission,,,,, still had problem. 2days later ,again 3rd time to go dealer. they gave to me car with no problem. that's nissan told us. it doesn't do every time, yet. but it feels old car. i could not go after stop light ,could not go over 2000x while running sometimes. i still have payment, too.they should change car or change something.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan sentra. while driving various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer for the acceleration failure and routine maintenance. the contact was informed of an air bag warning indicator recall. the dealer repaired the vehicle per the recall, but the remedy failed. the contact mentioned that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated after the recall repair. the contact was unable to provide the recall information. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Intelligent key fob intermittent start/stop of vehicle. went to start my car after dinner and it would not start.no activity when pressing the intelligent key fob. stranded in a parking lot ,called my spouse and then he came with a spare fob, same thing, no start.turned fob around per owners manual and car started but key warning light flashed all the way home. read manual and made sure all caveats were not the issue. winter weather night outside, came home and pulled car in the garage, waited an hour and tried to start car, no problem started fine. went out next morning and car started fine after two stops, at third stop would not start again. used procedure suggested in owners manual and car started. drove to final destination and no key warning light flashing. went online and found many complaints of dealer related issues with replacement of a steering lock switch to cure problem, (at a cost of around 800 - 900 dollars), at the car owners expense. found some other info online suggesting there is an extended warranty from manufacturer on this item. have not yet researched that claim. also some suggestions to inform nhtsa to start a recall process for this as it seems to be widespread with this make and other models of this manufacturer. i am submitting this complaint in the hopes that others will also and get a recall issued for this. will contact a local dealer for more info on status of manufacturer. twice in 24 hrs is not a coincidence. there is an issue with this system and it should be looked into by nhtsa.
With no warning, the vehicle applies brakes while in cruise control. brake lights on the vehicle remain active continuously after this. once this has occurred, the cruise control light flashes and the transmission is very limited on power at intermittent intervals. it comes and it goes without reason all the while the brake lights remain fully illuminated. this occurs while the vehicle is in motion. it tends to be while cruise control is enabled, but it has occurred while regularly driving.
My son was driving thru a intersection that is when the car stalled out. i have taken it to the machanic and been told that there is nothing wrong with the car. two weeks later the same thing happened and once again took it back into the mechanic. i just got it back and what do you know the car keeps acting like it is going to stall out. don't get me wrong the people at the mechanic shop are nice. but after my google search today i am glad i just hope that with these issues something is done before someone gets hurt. i shouldn't be scared that my son goes places and i have to worry that he may have a car accident.
After attempting to accelerate from stop at a stop sign, the sentra would not accelerate higher than about 10 mph. i pushed the gas pedal to the floor, and still no acceleration. after a minute or so, it went back to normal. over the course of an hour long drive, this happened at least 5 times. abs indicator also came on when pushing the brake. vdc and slip lights came on and stayed on for about half an hour. it will perform normally for a day or two. then start malfunctioned at random. two attempts have been made at the dealership to fix it according to diagnostic test which indicated the "brake switch code". brake switch replaced and vehicle performed normally for two days the performed worse than before part was changed. *tr
While driving the vehicle, the accelerator pedal can suddenly become unresponsive, causing the vehicle to lose speed and the engine to slow or nearly stall. this happens frequently when driving, at all speeds from a standing stop to highway speed. this issue sounds very similar to the recall for 908,000 nissan vehicles for accelerator pedal problems in early 2013. i think that recall needs to be expanded to nissan models sold in the usa. i have had the car in for service at my local nissan dealership twice for this issue so far, and the problem has not been corrected.
Tl* the contact owned a 2013 nissan sentra. while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. the vehicle burst into flames and was destroyed. the driver sustained fatal injuries. a police report was filed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 33,000.
I previously filed complaint, but was now told by the dealership that after the manifold was replaced, that the transmission also needed to be replaced. more waiting time, more unanswered phone calls, more poor service from the dealership. the sentra broke down on 12/20/14 and i'll finally be able to pick up my car on 1/24/15. nhtsa id number: 10672846 summary: my wife was driving on interstate 15 as we left san diego, california. in the car was my adult daughter and my two granddaughters, ages 1 1/2 and 10 months. i was ahead of her in our nissan pathfinder. she called my phone and said that the car rpm's were fluctuating and that the car wasn't going to make it home to twentynine palms. we pulled off the freeway in escondido. i checked the sentra and found that in idle and park that the engine ran fine. when i drove the car, it was lurching like the transmission wasn't shifting correctly. after checking the engine compartment, i drove to a well lite parking lot and while the family ate, i called aaa and had the sentra towed to mossy nissan of escondido. on monday the 22nd, my wife called mossy nissan and told them what happened. they called her back saying that it wasn't the transmission, that a sensor had been taken off of the manifold by her husband or our mechanic. she assured them that since the car was only 13 months old and under warranty, no mechanic had worked on the car and that i had only done the oil changes, but had not worked on the engine. mossy nissan said that they would not honor the warranty since the sensor in the manifold was removed. they referred me to nissan usa, which said the same thing; that since the sensor was missing, they had nothing to turn in for warranty, so they would not honor the warranty. *tr
