The automatic breaking feature triggered 6 times on 2/15/2020 causing us to almost wreck multiple times. the feature was engaged with no cars in the area.
While driving my 2018 nissan rogue to work on a sunny florida morning, i experienced a technical issue with my vehicle around 8:00 am est. while slowing down applying my brakes as i approached a major intersection with traffic, my rogue suddenly accelerated on its own accord causing me to crash into a vehicle in front of me. during the acceleration, the vehicle's onboard automated emergency braking system was sounding alarms but did not brake the vehicle. instead it felt like the vehicle was accelerated instead. a loud grinding sound could be heard at the point of impact with the vehicle in front of me and for about a second or so afterwards. thankfully the speed was low only resulting in minor body damage to my vehicle and no visible damage to the other vehicle.*dt *tp the end result was i sustained multiple back injuries - lower and neck regions simultaneously. i suspect this is due to the fact i went from slowing down to sudden acceleration and then finally to full sudden stop. thankfully, i was the only person in my vehicle. all of this was caught on my dash ...
The automatic emergency brake keeps coming on while driving. i have been on roads where i am the only car and it has happened and most recently on the highway with cars speeding behind me almost hitting me. there are no obstructions or cars in front of me when this is happening.
My vehicle breaks by itself as i am driving when there is nothing in front of me and driver seat moves back and forth. there are other sensors coming on my vehicle from time to time
I bought a used, 1 year old, 2018 nissan rogue, at a florida honda dealership in march of 2019. since i have owned this vehicle it has slammed on the breaks several times, while driving anywhere from 50-80 mph, for no apparent reason. just in the last week it has slammed on the breaks 2x for no reason. luckily no one was close to the back end of my car or they would have hit me. i do not feel safe driving this car. i have read many reports recently that this seems to be a major issue with this car yet nissan will not do a recall on it. i will own this lemon for 6 years if nothing is done about it.
I was pulling into my garage a few days ago and the emergency brake system engaged. there was absolutely nothing in front of me when this happened. again today, i was driving down the city road going approximately 25 mph and the car it happened again. the warning flashed, car beeped and just stopped for no reason at all. nothing in front and thankfully no cars behind me. this is extremely dangerous and scary! thank goodness i was not in an accident due to this issue.
Automating braking engaged while driving 60 mph on highway.
Faulty aeb. warning flashes on dashboard constantly. sensor has been replaced twice and problem still persists. i also had an instance where my car came to almost a complete stop. most times, i'm driving on the highway going approximately 50-60 mph with no cars around, no fog. light will start blinking then stop. then start blinking again.
On the street we use to leave our neighborhood, there is one section of the cement that is a little taller than the one before it.intermittently, the automatic breaking will be set off in this spot for no reason. it is alarming! we are also worried it will happen on a busy street and cause an accident.
Abrupt automatic unwarranted braking occurred in two incidents while travelling on boulevard. weather was clear, there were no vehicles in front (and fortunately none behind) when the automatic braking system engaged. did not bring vehicle to complete stop but the brakes were automatically applied and abrupt slowing down of vehicle occurred. this braking system did work properly in at least two other conditions - ie driving into interior home garage. unexpected automatic emergency braking while driving with no obvious obstacles (ie vehicles, road debris) is dangerous.
Automatic front braking (afb) system continues to inappropriately engage even after recall updates were completed at a nissan dealership. when driving the car will, without justification (ie there are no obsticals in front of car) automatically apply the breaks. after the update it happened to me while driving in the rain, my toddler was in the car, luckily i did not lose control of the car. this is a known issue and nissan has failed to correct it. nissan said afb cannot be permanently disabled and said it is now driver's responsibility to manually turn it off each time the car is started.
The automatic emergency braking system has malfunction many times - at least 10 times in the last year of ownership being january 2018 through november 2019. the most recent specific incident occurred on november 22, 2019 at 12:20pm in clear daylight while driving on paved road, city street, not turning. the rate of speed was approximately 15mph and caused the vehicle to immediately stop. this is very concerning due to the high possibility of serious injury if the malfunction were to occur at a high rate of speed.
Vehicle suddenly slammed on brakes by itself, and the car shook violently. (i believe the abs system activated itself for no apparent reason). driving approximately 40 mph. daytime. clear weather. no traffic around. no obstacles on roadway. very scary and dangerous. the electronics on this car, in general, are highly unreliable.
I was driving on a surface street at roughly 30 mph with no vehicles in front of, or behind, me and no obstacles on the roadway when my automated braking system slammed my car to a stop in the middle of the street.
Aebwarning all controls malfunctioning. multiple warning on dash board. complete computer control failed. vehicle will not start. vehicle was parked after short ride. when trying to get back home system failures.
