In november 2017, while driving in one of the passing lanes on qew driving from buffalo, ny to toronto, canada, at appx 70 mph, the car started losing power and speed. the rpm started revving alot but the car speed decreased rapidly. the cars behind me almost rear ended me at this speed. i was on a 4 lane thruway and it was difficult to pull to the right side of the road to the shoulder because all of the cars were speeding around me. quite frankly, it was a terrifying situation to be in as semi trucks and other cars going 70 - 80+ mph were speeding up behind you as your vehicle lost power. i pulled to the side of the road and let the car rest for about 1/2 hour then started to drive again. i drove the next 30 miles at appx 35-40 mph with my 4 way flashers on. the car did eventually get back to speed and seem to drive normal. mileage was appx 125,000- 130,000. this happened a second time in march 2019. i drove appx 65 miles on country roads in a rural area to pick up my elderly mother to take her to the hospital. the car suddenly lost power. the rpm's were going crazy, the car lost power. after about 20 minutes, the car eventually got back to speed again. i was afraid to drive her to the hospital in my car and fortunately a neighbor let me use their car to transport my mom to the hospital. the next day i went to drive my car the 75 miles back home and it drove okay but i was very worried i would not make it home. mileage was appx 145,000. this happened a 3rd time august of 2019 while traveling wb on the nys i-90 thruway. again, i was in the passing lane traveling about 70 mph when the rpm's started going crazy and the car lost power. this time a semi truck was behind me and quickly closing in on my car. again, it was tough to get to the right side of the road to get out of fast moving traffic. mileage appx 160,000. ...
The cvt transmission failed at 113,000 miles while we were driving on the freeway which resulted in us almost getting into multiple accidents. we had gotten the engine serviced every 3,000 miles for the past five years so the failure was not due to neglect.
While traveling on the interstate between 70-80mph my vehicle dropped to 60mph and would not accelerate past 60mph, then when pulling off an exit scared it wouldn't go past 20mph. this put my son and i's safety at serious risk with having no control over acceleration. i got to a mechanic which did a diagnostic and told me it was torque converter with transmission. the car only has 65k miles. this is insane to have these issues and clearly this needs to be a recall. i fortunately purchased a transmission warranty. waiting to see what the total damage is. this should absolutely be a safety recall.
My car failed inspection due to a defective mass air flow. i have just changed the mass air flow, and my car still continues to show the check engine light. the vehicle drives really slow the gas mileage is terrible,
Whenever my car is in motion, when trying to climb a hill, it would stop automatically. and often times, i would have to reverse my car, turn it off and gently drive it up the hill for fear that it may shut itself off. i have had to change the air mass flow 3 times. the check engine light has been on since september, and when i took it to the shop, the diagnoses came back as the air mass flow, after i have just replaced it. the car would automatically not get gas for no apparent reasons. i am not comfortable driving on the freeway any longer.
I'm just so upset with this vehicle. when you drive for about an hour the truck won't go past 70. it starts to slow down and you can't get any speed. i was going to wv and it started messing up i couldn't even pull the hill. it would just go so slow, couldn't get in another lane. it was so scary thought i was gonna get hit. the car always has an whinning noise when your on the road over 30 minutes. you have to cut the truck off, let it sit a while to get the speed to come back up. the next day i was on my way to the beach and it would not go past 20mph. mash the gas to the floor and it would just make noise. other than that i like the truck. every time i take it to the dealership they are trying to charge me almost 1,000 dollars for something that they knew about before they sold these cars to the consumers. nissan need to recall these cars , they are very dangerous especially if your on the highway with babies in the car.
The vehicle was being driven on the highway and the acceleration completely dropped. the car would not go over 20 mph! there was a recall up to 2010 nissan rogue for the cvt transmission but doesn't cover 2012. the error was torque converter clutch solenoid circuit intermittent. the nissan dealership said they don't replace that part and it needs a whole new transmission for $5000. i find it hard to believe other vehicles in 2012 have a recall for the transmission but not the rogue.
When driving for so long as in long distance the vehicle won't accelerate. speed limit could be 75 mph and after on the highway for about a hour car speed will drop and won't accelerate pass 60 mph. gas pedal could be all the way down and still won't accelerate.
My car will stop accelerating as i'm going up a hull on a high way or when i stop it won't accelerate back back until i turn the car off and then back on.
I've had problems with acceleration of car twice on the highway. car feels and sounds like it is stuck in one gear. i couldn't drive faster than 75 mph. car started to slow down even with my foot on the gas pedal. speed dropped from 75 to 65, from 65 to 60, from 60 to 55, from 55 to 49, from 49 to 45, from 45 to 30, from 30 to 10 mph. all of this happened within 2 miles of the nearest exit. i tried using cruise control to maintain speed at 65 mph, but it didn't work. car towed by aaa on 9/10/17.
2012 nissan rogue lost acceleration while on a trip. rogue would not go more then 30-40 mph in a 80 mph speed zone on highway. almost got hit a couple times trying to keep up with traffic and having to pull over to give the car a break. it was very dangerous with being 7 months pregnant, driving in a no service area. couldn't call for help. it was hot out to have to stop with my self and three dogs in the car.
Many times while driving on a highway, usually going uphill, i have troubles with the vehicle's acceleration. the car starts to make a funny sound, as if it's trying to accelerate, but is unable to. i've had to pull over because the car will slow down and will not go past like 40 miles per hour, even if i'm stepping on the gas. it's very dangerous because i'm typically not in the slow lane, so i start to impede traffic when this happens, and cars get really close to hitting me.
Driving for 20 minutes on highway, travelling at 75 mph. changed lanes, slowed down to 65mph. attempted to accelerate, rpm stuck at 2400, vehicle wouldn't accelerate past 70 after taking 10 seconds to rise to that from 65mph. didn't go past 2700rpm. got off highway, stopped at a stop light. light turned green, car rose very slowly to 2000 rpm, accelerated very slowly to 30mph. this continued for 5 minutes, pulled over and parked for 1 hour. started driving again, 30 minutes later car stuck at 2400 rpm, couldn't accelerate past previous travelling speed. took to dealer, no diagnostic codes found, of course, 140 dollars later no resolution. car has 70,935 miles on it
E car stops accelerating if any of these conditions happen: - uphill for over 3 miles - after 45-70 miles - high temperatures (85 or above) - driving more than 1 hour drivers must pull over and let transmission cool before proceeding, than happens again over and over.
In the last 30 days i have made the exact same 5 hour round trip drive three times. on two of these trips, i experienced sudden loss of acceleration after approximately 3-1/2 hours of driving (both instances started within 5 miles of the other). though both occurred without any sign of a mechanical problem and continued until car had been stopped and shut off for 30 minutes or more, today's event nearly caused loss of life! when trying to merge onto i-95 from i-295 in jacksonville, florida during rush hour traffic i suddenly could not only accelerate to get on 95 and move over 2 lanes to clear the exit only airport lane but continued to slow down in massive high speed traffic! during this time the gas pedal was fully depressed without result other than rpm change to almost 3. no codes were detected either time. this car was purchased new, has been well taken care of and regularly serviced. it has 75,214 miles on it. the only difference in the 3 trips i made was stopping for about 45 minutes to eat before driving back on trip #2 and had no problems at all with acceleration.
Transmission will stall and/or lose acceleration while driving on the freeway. will not increase speed, regardless of if the pedal is to the floor or not. if you come to a complete stop, the vehicle does not move over 5 mph until you stop, turn the vehicle off, sometimes for up to 30 min, and resume driving. this is the 4th time this has happened within 30 days, always while going over 60 mph, and freeway driving for 10 min +.
After about an hour of highway driving, the car will stop accelerating. the car was taken to the nissan dealership today, 10/18/19, where the mechanic told us that the "transmission was overheating". they could not tell us what was causing it want install an additional piece of equipment that will provide a temporary fix. this is an extremely dangerous and scary situation; there needs to be a recall. *tr
When driving this vehicle long distances it will lose power without notice. when driving acceleration will go down to 0 mph. if you put the gas pedal on the floor it will still not accelerate. this car can not be driven long distances, as it has placed my family in danger numerous times. i have had to pull over on the side of the road and allow the car to sit. many times this has occurred on busy highways. there is no fix when this happens. i have had 18 wheelers behind me when this car has suddenly stopped. nissan will not acknowledge this issue. when inquiring about the issue nissan is only seeking a diagnostic fee. through research i have uncovered that this is a huge issues impacting tons of customers. i will never purchase another nissan.
Summary: while driving my 2012 nissan rogue my car began to slow down even while i was stepping on the acceleration. rpms would soar up any time i stepped on the pedal so i pulled over to the side of the road, let the car cool for a few minutes then tried to start it up again and as i stepped on the pedal the car barely accelerated (just inched along), leaving me to call and have it towed back. the car was brought to the used car dealership, the next day i received a call that my transmission needs to be replaced. the car is only 3.5 years old (well taken care of) and even though it has 67,000 miles on it, a car as new as this one shouldn't be having transmission problems. i contacted nissan consumer affairs and after going back and forth with them a few times they decided they are not going to help me because the car is out of warranty, mind you back in 2003-2010 they put out an extended warranty program on all nissan rogues due to transmission problems, so they acknowledged the issue then i don't understand why they aren't acknowledging the issue now. i am still paying the car off and now i have paid $3,400 to have the trans fixed, that transmission lasted 12,500 miles before a 3rd transmission i was told needed to be replaced. after researching this i have found that the cvt transmissions in nissan cars is not an uncommon problem, actually a very common issue. well the 3rd transmission only lasted 4,990 miles. i'm told i need another transmission. #4 this is ridiculous. i have had the same issued with the car since it had 54,000 miles on it.
Transmission..acceralation problem..car slow down and stop on the highway...push over it over waited 20 mins and started again.i was traveling with three children in the car ..taking my son back to college..we could of lost our life on the highway
Lost power 2x in past year. once on city streets, even though gas pedal floored, car barely moved. next on highway, had to cruise until could safely exit highway. issue possibly with cvt transmission
Cruise control blinking and unusable. *tr
Was driving north on interstate 75, atlanta, ga, when the front left tire certainly blew causing me to loose control of car and rear-ending the car in front of me. my car was a total loss as well as the auto i hit. purchased this auto on june 25, 2013 with 8,283 miles. noticed in july that the tire pressure warning light would come on and stay on for a day or two; so i had the car looked at on 2 occasions and was told that it something pertaining to the senor but it was ok because the light would go out on it own. the night of the accident the light was on and all of a certain i heard a load pop sound which was the tire blowing out and i loss control of the car causing the accident. when the market valuation report was ran on february 27, 2014 i learned that this vehicle had a recall issued by nhtsa id: 12v068000. i believe that was why the tire pressure warning light continued to come on for a few days then it would go off but the tires always had the same amount of air in each tire each time it was checked. *tr

My nissan rogue 2012 began to make some noise and can't accelerate. i call nissan dealer and tow the car to them. they said that the problem is the fuel injectors. the car still at dealer for repair. this can cause an accident, due to the fact that the car stopped suddenly. *tr
