Multiple transmission issues. stuttering and jerking at low speed, especially on a slight grade going up. loss of power from a stop. slipping when going into gear then jerking. shift points appear to be erratic. probably came on slowly but only got to a dangerous or problematic point near the end of the warranty period. noticed it badly when attempting to pull out into traffic and almost got side swiped.
Vehicle losses speed and power while locked in cruise control at highway speeds. has occurred more than 7 times, once nearly caused my vehicle to be rear ended by following truck. vehicle engine over revs and losses speed and power. slowing from 74 mph to 58mph with engine speed increasing from 1600 rpm to over 4500 rpm. has been back to dealer over 7 times and have gotten same response, it's not coding , so they can't fix or give a reason why this occurs. vehicle is a safety hazard to operate on the highway as it can accelerate or lose power and slow rapidly into an accident. in case requested, i also have video as an mp4 showing exactly what is happening that will not upload. please email me with instructions as to how i can get this video file submitted thank you
Had to replace transmission at cost of $5012.91 and was told by the dealership that warranty is 12 months/12,000 miles just like an off-the-shelf car part.
Total loss of electrical power while driving. engine dies lights go out vehicle rolls to a stop. put vehicle in park and electrical power return with no further action. please look in to this as my wife is now scared to drive her car at all. 2 occurrences in the past 2 weeks. no recalls shown but other years of this vehicle show same complaint. of this
I recently purchased this car used. after driving it for a little while, the car started shaking every time i would try to accelerate, but would get smooth once i got up to speed. after a few stop and go, the car decided to go into limp mode. i managed to get the car home safely, but barely. now it drives smooth for a few minutes and then the extreme shaking returns. it only happens when the car is in drive, and stops after i shift it out. after doing some research online, i found that the transmission in the 07 nissan murano is notorious for failing. nissan actually extended the warranty to 10 years/ 120,000 miles. but if you cannot get it fixed within that time your stuck, because they are so bad no transmission shop would work on them. every forum related to muranos just rants about how bad the transmission is. nissan should be responsible for putting faulty transmissions in so many vehicles, i am scared to imagine what would happen if it failed on the highway while at speed.
Lock/unlock request button on the outside handle does not respond, exterior lamp fogging, engine, equipmet ,igition swtch, p0744 torque converter clutch solenoid circuit intermittent, p1778 transmission reverse i/p circuit, p0345 camshaft position sensor a circuit, p0051 ho2s heater control circuit, p0150 o2 circuit this vehicle was in motion on the highway and shut down
My cvt transmission began to have a seal leak at 140,000 miles causing a loud squeal while the transmission fluid built up pressure. this car was well maintained. it's unfortunate that nissan doesn't provide replacement parts for their transmissions. it's a sealed unit so you have to replace the entire transmission for $3500 to $4800. only got $2k on trade in for a new vehicle. i hope nissan recalls the transmission so others won't lose money on this costly repair.
2011 nissan murano, 85000 miles, all maintenance done on time. driving down the road at low speeds started to hear a clunking noise. the next day i was driving down the hwy taking my car into the shop when it started jumping rpms and would not accelerate almost causing me to get killed while trying to pull of the road. after letting the car sit i was able to drive it at 30mph to the closest car dealership where it was diagnosed with a failing transmission. i still owe on the car and am beyond upset that after calling nissan they refuse to do anything . now my car sits till i find a way to come up with the thousands of dollars i have to pay to get my car back on the road. nissan should extend the warranty on the 2011 just like they did on the previous years.
At 105,000 miles, transmission would not remain engaged in overdrive at greater than 60mph resulting in high rpm over 3200. dealer inspected and stated past dtc code of p1778 (step motor issue/cvt slipping). dealer reflash car computer but said if that didn't fix it the car would need a new transmission. seems odd it's the same problem that was happening with 2003-2010 transmissions because i was told that issue was resolved in later models.
The car was bucking at low speeds (10-20 mph) and had a vibration at high speeds (70+). the dealership reported that the diagnostic code was p17f0 and they needed to replace the cvt subassembly and the rpl automatic cvt transaxle assembly and reprogram the a/t control unit.while doing that they discovered they needed to replace the front and rear seals on the leaking transfer case. this is very similar to a recall affecting the cvt on other nissan vehicles, but that recall did not cover this vehicle.
