I picked my car up from the dealership after getting a state inspection, oil change and tire rotation. they said they topped off all the fluids. as i backed out of the parking space and pulled forward i noticed the steering wheel was tight. i tried adjusting it a few times, but as i approached the light and tried to turn right i had to go out wide because the steering wheel was tight. i was afraid at the next two lights. the steering wheel was tight, and after struggling i managed to turn and get the car to my husband to look at. he test drive it and said it was no power steering. we told the car back to the dealership and of course it is nothing they did, the power steering pump just went out. i thank god i was not driving fast or on the interstate when it went out, because i read about some crashing. it still was a scary experience. my car only has 79,882 miles on it. why would the power steering go out at this mileage. now the dealership wants $1,000. ...

I was unable to start the vehicle after returning to my parked car during a late night drive to visit a friend. when i tried the push-button ignition the car wouldn't move from past lock. i noticed a new light indicator for my "intelligent key" i had not seen before. after a quick google, i found that these symptoms were linked to a electronic steering control lock defect that had been know for years. after contacting nissan i was told that are indeed have a service campaign for the 2010 nissan maxima however for i am financially responsible for the defect as my vin was not included in "service campaign". because of this defect i was stranded miles from home in the middle of the night and forced to pay over 800$ out of pocket in emergency repairs to replace a part that may very well fail again in the future.

Power steering fluid leaks completely out and have to refill every two weeks. i was driving down the parkway and my rpm kept jumping slightly. got off my exit to my university and stopped at a light, then it wouldn't move. after letting it sit for a while i could get it to move across a parking lot, but it shook the whole time and wouldn't go over 1200 rpm. it eventually went completely out and now it doesn't move at all. it is also smoking upon starting it now.

I was approaching a red light going between 5-15mph when i heard a 1-2 second deep screeching noise from the passenger side of the vehicle. i had fully made my stop at the red light, and i noticed when accelerating to make a left turn the steering had become stiff like i was driving without power steering. i found a place to pull over to check my power steering levels, and the fluid was at the correct level. i turned the car back on, and everything starts fine, but the vehicle continues to have steering issues. i'm questioning if the pump failed and the fluids not moving throughout the system. my 2014 nissan maxima is only at 33k miles, and i find it very concerning if a steering component failed this quickly in its lifetime. im planning on having nissan inspect this as i own a 5 year certified preowned warranty.

The wheel is turn slightly to the right so it seems like it's perfectly straight but in reality it's not. now do you see i have put the marks(this is where i'm noticing unalignment) if i put the wheel perfectly straight the wheel and steering column plastic will not be aligned from the right side. now the car holds its lines, does not pull to the left or right. i'm just wondering if it's mechanical or plastic cover went off a bit or it's been like that all the time. kinda strange to notice. its really dangerous sometimes cause i am trying to make it straight and i find my self going slightly to the left. i told my dealership about this and all he responded ... oh well no more perfection these days. not professional though i have been driving maxima's for a while now i have never found a single imperfection like this.

My son was driving home 09/21/18 when the passenger side tie rod broke. the piece that broke screws into the rack and has a ball swivel in it and then screws into the actual tie rod end. the piece at the break looks as if it was broken part way through due to the metal being darker in that area. the vehicle was in motion and had just completed a left hand turn on a rual blacktop road. i am concerned because this is a part that just should not fail as it is my understanding that they are made from a chrome vanadium alloy which makes them just about indestructible under normal use and conditions. i have tried to furnish a picture and am not sure if it was successfully uploaded to you. if not please contact me by email and i can attach it to a return email to you. the picture shows the broken part still on the car. i repaired the car myself and have the broken part in my possession if you need it.
