Continues airbag problems. from the satellite airbag sensors being rusty and water intrusion to the occupant air bag sensor. i have also had continuous misfires that have caused the catalytic converter on bank 1 to fail
There is a known problem with the fuel sending unit for frontiers about this age. nissan extended the warrantee a few years ago, but it wasn't long enough to cover the defect. now the sending unit needs to be replaced for the fuel gauge to work, and the whole gas tank needs to be dropped to do it. nissan ought to cover this known issue with a full recall, not just an extended warrantee.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that the fuel gauge did not reflect the actual amount of fuel in the tank. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the fuel level sending unit needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 148,000.
My frontier was involved in a fuel level sensor recall in 2010 and was never replaced.the cel came on today(10/17/2018).i called my local dealer and they said the warranty on that part was increased 72;000 miles or three years.so as of today it is expired.i thought if a part was under recall it was for the life of vehicle. i worked at this dealership for over twenty years and never heard of anything like this.if a part is defective does it matter when it fails?
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. while driving approximately 40 mph, all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled. the contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and waited a few minutes. once restarted, the vehicle operated normally. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel gauge sensor failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 56,077.
Fuel guage doesn't work correctly. sometimes it show the right level and other times it shows empty or somewhere in between. ran out of fuel the other day on the highway. i know there was a recall on this for 2006 -2008, but it says my vin number doesn't have a recall for this.
Fuel gauge operating erratic showing empty when i fill up and the low fuel light coming on then after driving it shows a different reading. i don't know how much gas is in it at any time because gauge not working correctly
My 2007 nissan frontier crew cab has 107k miles and for unknown reasons the airbag light will not reset. this is unsafe because the airbags may not work in an accident. also the fuel gauge is malfunctioning.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. while driving at unknown speeds, the fuel gauge indicated that there was fuel in the fuel tank, but in reality, there was no fuel in the vehicle. while in traffic on a hill, the vehicle stalled due to lack of fuel; however, the fuel gauge displayed a quarter tank of fuel. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. there were no open recalls for the vehicle. the failure mileage was 72,000.
Fuel gauge states 1/4th full when it is empty. check engine light comes on and states faulty fuel level sensor. code p0463
Fuel gauge sporadically measures incorrectly. check engine light comes on when readings are incorrect, then goes off. both while stationary or driving, on a mix of city and highway driving. similar models/ model years may have already been recalled for similar issues (http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2010/03/nissan-recalls-over-500-000-vehicles-for-brake-fuel-gauge-concerns/index.htm). was never notified of any recall.
Fuel gauge erratic. check engine light on. i filled truck w gas & was driving on hwy 160 & noticed fuel gauge light on & gauge on empty. there have been recalls for trucks like mine for fuel level sensor sending unit
Nissan recognized leak in radiator, leading to corrosion in transmission resulting in clunking shifting with automatic transmission, until transmission cannot shift by itself. secret warranty bulletin put out but only to nissan service centres and not shared with vehicles owners until to late for most. if they recalled or fixed the radiator, would not now need a new transmission repair for ~$7000. truck will no longer go up hills unless one shifts as if it were manual
Our 07 nissan frontier was being driven to be inspected for registration when, at a stop light, it just turned off and would not start. we had it towed to a mechanic. he had to send it to the local nissan dealership for the computer to be replaced and reprogrammed. according to this mechanic, the leak from the radiator has mixed with transmission fluid in the transmission causing all these components to fail and need replacing. this is unacceptable!!
Fuel gauge is not accurate or indicates empty with fuel warning light displayed, even when tank is full. research shows that it is a defective fuel level sending unit. this should have been recalled for repair by nissan. running out of fuel, unexpectedly on the highway could have very dangerous consequences.
Fuel gauge dropped from full to below empty and check engine light came on. diagnosed with p0463 error code, fuel sensor unit malfunction. it appears that nissan has replaced the unit on 2006 & 2008 units, but for some reason failed to address the 2007 model year. vehicle has 54k miles. this could create safety issue if someone runs out of fuel during heavy traffic.
Fuel gauge not moving to full, as gas tank got refilled. it shows empty after refill and check engine light illuminates. sometimes stay empty until gas out, not safe to drive. hard to tell if emptied or not. need rpair. my truck is only 40000 when this happened, now its at 60000 miles. repair will cost over $600 if only replacing inside tank fuel gauge.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that the fuel level sensor failed and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. in addition, when the vehicle was filled with fuel, the fuel sensor gauge remained on empty. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel sensor, o ring, and clip needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
While driving fuel gauge suddenly dropped to empty and caused service engine warning light to come on. this has happened on 5 occasions. problem seems related to that addressed by nhtsa campaign # 10v075000 for 2006 and 2008 nissan frontiers although the 2007 frontier is not addressed in this campaign.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that the fuel gauge failed to provide accurate reading levels and remained indicating that the fuel tank was full. the contact refueled the vehicle several times but the fuel gauge remained indicating full. the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a manufacturer recall related to the failure. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. the approximate failure mileage was 60,100.
Fuel level gauge failed at approximately 76k miles. received code po 461 indicating sensor failure. currently using odometer to keep from running out of gas while driving. noted recall 10v075000 apparently covers this exact problem but 2007 model year not included. service bulletin ntb-07-069c also notes issue of defective oem part used by nissan in manufacture of vehicle, but only recourse is to replace at owner's expense. note over 150 separate complaints under various categories for this identical problem. seems like a valid safety issue requiring a voluntary recall by nissan for affected vehicles or a mandatory recall by nhtsa.
Never received recall notice for fuel gauge sender unit/float problem - dealer/nissan will not honor older recall so they say i must pay for repair
The fuel level sensor has failed causing a safety issue. the 2006 and the 2008 model years have been recalled for this same issue but not the 2007 model
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. while driving at various speeds, the fuel gauge would indicated there was low fuel in the vehicle and would register the incorrect amount of fuel on the instrument panel. the contact also stated that the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel sending unit failed and needed to be replaced. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 65,000.
Nissan sold me a new truck with a design flaw, a faulty fuel sending unit. nissan consumer affairs said i have to take the truck with the design flaw (e.g. failed fuel sending unit) to a nissan dealer and pay to have it diagnosed (though the problem is already known to me as being the design flaw of a failed fuel sending unit) after which they would investigate to see if they can provide assistance to repair it though they admitted after checking my vin they are not aware of any instance that would cover the repair (e.g. they are not going to repair it). the bottom line is i purchased a new nissan frontier which i had maintained by a local mechanic (not a nissan dealership) and it came with a design flaw (e.g. fuel sending unit) that they want me to pay over a hundred dollars to have diagnosed at one of their dealerships after which they aren't going to fix it for me (despite the face saving act of nissan consumer affairs). nissan displayed zero integrity in failing to diagnose and pay to have the design flaw repaired, in my opinion, at their cost. furthermore, the policy they developed to "save face" is disingenuous in my estimation and designed only to increase their profit further. i'm a low income worker who will drive around with a fuel gauge that doesn't work and the service engine light on because i can't pay the hundreds and hundreds of dollars that it would cost to have a design flaw diagnosed at a nissan dealership afterwards paying to repair it myself because nissan isn't going to.
I took my truck to temecula nissan and had it check, they told me my air bag would not open if i was in an accident, faulty spiral cable-p1564,faulty vent control valve-p0448, faulty fuel tank sending unit- p0463 this are things that need to be fixed, some of them are on a recall list but i was told it expired. so i could die behind this. *cn
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. after filling up the vehicle with fuel and driving, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge started to drop towards empty. the failure corrected itself, but the second time the failure occurred, the service engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the sender inside the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the manufacturer stated that the part was not under warranty. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 95,549.
Traveling along hwy 209 in bigfork, mt, i noticed my gas gauge needle drop from 1/2 tank to below zero and immediately the fuel light came on along with the check engine light. a mile down the road and the engine stalled and had to make an emergency pull-over with my two young children in the car. thankfully, the traffic was light that day, i was able to pull over safely, and i had cell service. i called my husband and let him know what happened. he brought gas and, sure enough, the truck started once again, but did not register fuel again until i filled the tank completely. it continues to repeat this cycle where it will register until a certain fuel level and then the needle will dive to below empty.
White smoke coming out of the tail pipe. *tr
My 2007 nissan frontier is experiencing what many other frontier truck owner are experiencing...the dreaded inaccurate fuel gauge readings along with the check engine light. i am blown away that nissan has not had the courage to order a recall on this well known issue. hopefully this will not result in a number of fatalities before they "do the right thing". very unfortunate and a poor form of customer service for owners who will most likely seek a different brand as there next purchase. *tr
Fuel gage indicated that i had a bit less than 1/2 tank of fuel. run out of fuel as the fuel sending unit was displaying the wrong amount of fuel shortly after that the service engine light came on. took the vehicle to a repair shop was diagnosed with a p0463 code defective fuel sending unit. called nissan of north america for support was told that i needed to take the vehicle to a dealer in order for nissan to honor the warranty. spent $106 dollars the first time at the shop and then $104 at the local nissan dealership. after several calls to nissan north america customer affairs i was told that the fuel sending unit is not covered, this is the same issue that thousands of people are experiencing how can it be possible that my vehicle is not covered, it only has 33k miles...this is a larger issue that needs attention by nhtsa as there has been documented accidents from people running out of fuel on the freeway. i've run out of fuel 3 times in the past 3 months as i deal with nissan to see if they can do anything about my issue.
My service engine light remains on. my gas guage will fluctuate from empty even tho it is full to half full when it is empty i saw a recall for this problem for the 2006 and 2008 models but not for my 2007. i checked to see if there were any recalls for my truck and there were not. please help.
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge indicated the incorrect reading levels and the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. the mechanic diagnosed that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 75,000.
Fuel gauge fails to register proper amount of fuel, triggers check engine light (mil) and reports trouble code showing open circuit in fuel sensor system. this failure requires me to watch mileage by using trip odometer to monitor when to purchase fuel. could also cause failure of emissions test as check engine light is on. this would be an unnecessary financial burden to fix as well as having a failure of the emissions test based on the fuel sending unit not functioning properly and not from excessive emissions or other emissions control parts. emissions tests are $50-70 per attempt with dyno runs. estimated cost of repair is $5-750.00 for labor and materials. vehicle was purchased new 7/07 with 50 miles on it as it was delivered from another dealership. currently has 61,000 miles. vehicle runs perfect otherwise. would like nissan to at least send the replacement part (@ $250).
Air bag light came on wont go off, gas gauge stoped working, front end suspension has recall, took it to nissan dealer wont fix said my vin is not on recall list. was told air bag would not work if i was in an accident, faulty spiral cable
Vehicle ran out of gas when the gas hand was reading at a quarter of a tank. it happened as i entered traffic. *tr
My gas gauge dropped to 1/4 then went to empty with light on now it won't move at all
I have been having the fuel gauge problems with my 2007 nissan frontier that i now see so many other people have complained about. it has been close to a year that i have had the issue but i knew it was the fuel level indicator sensor causing the check engine light to come so i didn't get it fixed. i would fill up with gas and the fuel gauge would stay at empty (no matter how much fuel was in the tank when i started fueling). then after driving up to 100 miles the fuel gauge would go up to what i assume was an accurate reading. it has been about a month now the fuel gauge has completely quit working. i would fill up at between 250 miles to 300 miles on a tank because i knew i always got over 300 miles on a tank of gas. well, this morning on my way to work i ran out a gas right in the middle of a busy intersection. i am very disgusted to see all of the complaints about this problem and nissan is not willing to do anything about it. on top of that, i thought a smaller pickup with a 6 cylinder engine would get better gas mileage than is does. my 2007 frontier gets lousy gas mileage. *tr
Fuel level sensor malfunction, truck shut off while showing it was half full of gas. i was in the process of moving so i had a truck load of furniture and also pulling my boat. i luckily carry a heavy duty chain with me and was able to get someone to tow me to a gas station. i then read that nissan had recalled 2005-2008 models but when i called my particular truck wasn't one of them. it doesn't really make sense to me if my truck is showing the same problems why it isn't recalled. this didn't cause that big of an issue for me but i feel like this is a serious problem and could put someone in danger of having an accident. the seal around where the sensor connects doesn't hold so gas gets in and corrodes the connecting pins causing it to malfunction. they wanted to charge me $400 to fix it so i bought the part online for $85 and fixed it myself. i don't feel like this is right and nissan needs to be held accountable. *tr
While driving on city street fuel gauge reading over 1/4 tank went to make a lane change vehicle started to cut out service engine light came on then the vehicle went completely dead making it difficult to steer or brake or pull to the side of the road out of traffic. had the vehicle checked and was advised after he read the code that the fuel sensor was faulty giving a false reading on the amount of fuel remaining in the tank and that he had heard of a nissan recall on the fuel sensor. after i put more fuel in my vehicle it started right up but service engine light stayed on. contacted nissan customer service about the problem and was advised that some 2007 nissan frontiers and other model of that year had similar issues but my vehicle was not covered for that problem. *tr
My vehicle no longer registers how much fuel is in my tank because of a faulty fuel sending unit. i ran out of gas on the freeway. why wasn't a recall issued to fix the known problem? stalled vehicles pose a hazard. *tr
Fuel sending unit fuel light on and shows empty sometime when it is actually full. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that the fuel gauge failed to operate. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 57,000.
Fuel gauge not working properly. i brought the truck to dealer and they determined it was due to faulty fuel level sensor sending unit. cost: $511. *tr this should be a recall since it is a safety issue in that i could run out of gas on the highway and possibly become involved in a collision. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that while driving 65 mph. the fuel sensor gauge warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 62,000.
Had filled the truck with gas at beginning of week and the fuel level was reading i still had a quarter of gas when the truck stopped in the middle of traffic. the truck was empty. now i fill up and the fuel gauge does not move to register fuel level. *tr
Gas gauge does not register accurately. example being when tank is empty it still reads 1 quarter full.
My 2007 nissan frontier fuel gauge remains past the empty mark. it stays that way even when the tank is full. this also causes my check engine light to stay on. this causes me not to know how much gas i have left. *tr
Fuel indicator reads empty when tank is full. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan frontier. the contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel gauge tank unit needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure and current mileage was 65,000. *tr
