We have classified the 193 complaints from 2006 Nissan Frontier about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
My nissan frontier began making a slight engine noise at about 30,000 miles ( i am hearing impaired). the noise became more noticeable when accelerating. at about 39,000 miles someone else heard the noise and told me my timing chains were about to break due to a common nissan defect and not to drive the car as the engine could lock up while driving without any warning. although there was a service bulletin by nissan in 2007 and 2009 (ntb09-128) i was not made aware of the danger of driving this vehicle. i feel the timing chain tensioning system is defective on these vehicles and is dangerous to the public. if the system fails the driver would be unable to accelerate or maintain their speed and expose them to the risk of being rear ended if their vehicle suddenly stalls. i would not have expected an engine with only 30,000 miles to fail. had they notified me in 2007 or 2009 of the problem i could have had it repaired under my extended warranty. i had to pay to have this common and dangerous defect repaired. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact stated while driving 45 mph the transmission failed. the contact mentioned there was no warning lights. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the diagnosis was the faulty radiator contaminated the transmission fluid. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 112,000. rk updated 8/28/14*cn updated 09/8/2014 *js
I have a 2006 nissan frontier with cross contamination of radiator fluid and transmission fluid. the dealer states the known defect is beyond the 100,000 mile cutoff for the extend manufacturers warranty that deals with this common and well known defect. the estimated cost of repair is 4800.00 with the full burden resting on me for a common and well known manufacturing defect that could have been avoided had nissan recalled the vehicles and made the repairs as soon as they were aware. there is a class action lawsuit but again my vehicle is outside of the parameters of the lawsuit. i don't quite know what to do as i like most everyone don't have $5000.00 sitting around and unfortunately my credit is in horrible shape so i can't get a loan to pay for it nor can i qualify for a loan to trade it in. how in the world can i ever justify buying another nissan product knowing they don't produce a safe, quality product and they are not willing to fix defective equipment. *tr
Was driving fine up to the point where we seemed to have lost all ability to accelerate. when we pressed the gas, it appeared to be in neutral, although it wasn't. this happened as we drove down the middle of the road. we ended up coasting to the side and put the truck into park, then reengaged the gear shift into drive, it then took off and we slowly drove to a parking lot before it failed again. no warning signs on the dash indicated a problem (still no indication) or any sign of trouble before the transmission just fails. this is a known issue with this year and style of truck and no one made us aware. we have had this truck since we bought it new, never received any notification of the known defect from nissan. it would have been nice to know the radiator leaks into the transmission and causes transmission failure. we would have had this replaced prior to the failure. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact was driving approximately 35 mph when the vehicle began to vibrate before stalling. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the cooling unit inside had ruptured. the failure caused coolant to leak into the transmission and transmission fluid to leak into the radiator. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 124,000.
The nissan frontier radiator contaminated the transmission with coolant thus causing the transmission to malfunction in a busy traffic area. this issue caused my vehicle to shutter thus forcing the traffic to the rear of me to lock up brakes to avoid hitting me. to my dismay, this problem is known by nissan who refuses to fix the issues. to prove the issue is larger than nissan admits, choose transmission repair shops in any area, make a phone call and tell them you own a nissan frontier, you will need say no more, the shop manager will without prompt say "you have transmission issues due to the radiator contaminating the transmission, you will have to rebuild/replace the transmission." it is up to the nhtsa to protect the consumer from fraudulent companies such as nissan. a recall is the only course of action...most consumers cannot afford the cost of a transmission (upwards or 7000 dollars) and will drive their nissan regardless of the danger the transmission slippage causes. it is now time for the recall before someone is injured or killed. *tr
The truck would get a shudder/vibration that shook the whole truck at around 45 and 60 miles per hour and would not shift properly. a nissan dealer verified that the transmission had been cross contaminated with coolant fluid. i was livid to learn that nissan knew about this issue since 2007 but did not tell me about the defect when i took the truck for maintenance (a transmission fluid exchange) in 2010 when i had 68,000 miles on the truck. i was robber of the opportunity to take action even at my own cost that would have prevented this catastrophic failure. nissan refuses to pay anything towards the cost citing the settlement in the class action. i was told the terms of the settlement would not allow nissan to cover anything after 100,000 miles. i refused to allow the dealer to fix it because they did not give me a warning when i was having the routine maintenance done on the trani and because nissan will never get another penny from me. the service tech at the nissan dealer told me not to buy an after market radiator because it would be based on the old radiator design so i could have the same problem of cross contamination again. he said nissan had a new radiator. clearly sounds like a manufacturer design defect. also, i read that it is for 2005-2010 nissans but i spoke with the owner of a 2011 nissan frontier who told me he had the cross contamination but because it was under warranty, nissan had to pay to fix everything. the fact that nissan knows about this but is not being proactive in letting customers know that there could be a problem is irresponsible. i had to pay $5200 to fix the trani and radiator, $110 for the dealer to confirm cross contamination, $104 for towing and $330 for a rental car. this is 180 degrees from how honda is treating the recently announced cooling fluid leak they have. honda is extending the warranty 10 years with unlimited miles. *tr
Driving going 50 trunk shut off, luckily i was able to get off the highway.it happened around 10 more times over a month before it just quit.not having high mileage on the truck now or at the time of receiving a warranty notification back in 2012 never thought of it.so we had it towed to put on a fuel pump that it did not need $400.00 still will not start .i started looking up reviews on nissan to find out that nissan has known about this in 2007 .i still owe $3600.00 on this truck ,bought it new with 24 miles on a lease... loved it...so after my lease was up i refinanced 2010 with 41501 miles bought a 3 yr extended warranty, never used it .now after learning about a co - pay for a truck really nissan ...my truck has 81000 miles ..i don't have 2500.00 to put in it .time for nissan to recall it,and face it you have a problem nissan .please i need help. *tr
My 2006 nissan frontier has automatic transmission fluid in the radiator, and radiator coolant in the automatic transmission. the transmission is now shifting improperly. *tr
When set in d, the rpm's dropped. next day driving 20 sec. and looses all power. can shift the gear stick, but the transmission does not engage. no audible warning or anything like that. just stopped driving. got code p1759 and p1769. needs new transmission and radiator because the coolant leaked into transmission. $5500 is the quote from the dealer. *tr
Vehicle began to shift upward and downward erratically at various speeds and rpm. it would also shake and shudder like the whole vehicle was on a rocky road -- everything vibrating from the frame to the steering wheel. very sudden, alarming, and disconcerting. *tr
I have a 2006 nissan frontier that is having complete transmission failure due to the known issue of radiator fluid contaminating the lines to the transmission and causing internal failure. i have been quoted $5,000 in repairs for the radiator and transmission. there is a class action lawsuit against nissan for this very issue for several models. the dealership acknowledged the lawsuit, however, said a settlement or recall has not been issued at this point and they could not discuss it any further with me. they suggested i trade the car in and buy another from them, even suggesting another frontier. *tr
I use my truck every day. i started to getting problem with the transmission. i did a diagnostic on the transmission and it came that the transmission is infected and it need to be change. i just got these truck like 4 month ago. *tr
Driving 2006 nissan frontier truck on hill at stop sign went to go and trans did not pull. rolled back into a tree. found out about defective radiator but no recall???? useless class action law suite 5500.00 to fix. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact stated that while attempting to shift into reverse, the vehicle failed to respond without warning. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was advised that the radiator fluid was leaking into the transmission. as a result, the radiator and the power transmission needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure and current mileage was 106,000. the vin was not available.
At low speeds the transmission stutters / hesitates. i've been told by nissan that i need a new valve body. i believe my vehicle suffers from the radiator / transmission issues as experienced by many other customers. *tr
My 2006 nissan frontier se crew cab check engine light came on at about 100,000 miles. i read the code and it indicated that an emission problem (i.e. a sensor or catalytic issue) was the matter. soon after the truck began to exhibit a strange vibration in what appeared to be the engine specifically around 40-45 mph. i brought the truck in at 101,000 miles to have it serviced at the dealership. they determined that not only did the catalytic converter need replacing but also there was radiator fluid in the transmission and the bill was over $6,000. i declined the service and immediately called nissan north america. they explained that i was 1000 miles over the extended warranty and wished me to have a nice labor day weekend. *js
I was driving on the freeway and notice smoke coming from near (it turns out it was coming from underneath) about few seconds later the check engine light is flashing, my nissan pickup engine lost some speed and it appears to have lost power as well because it was not accelerating. i took it for inspection to 2 different auto shops locally and have gotten the same reports from both shops.i have a bad transmission and radiator coolant leaks seems to have caused the transmission failure. i have taken my pickup to nissan after learning about the extended warranty to roseville future nissan and they seems have agreed about this known issue. they said nissan has extended the warranty up to 100k miles (so technical it should be covered), however they are asking for 3000k for deductible. i have contacted nissan consumer affairs and they said they are waiting for court to decide on this known issue and will not be able to help until it's resolved. i did some research online and found out i was not the only one having this issue. please help and advise if i need to take action against nissan as this is clearly a known issue and they should not be asking for 3k. http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/08/24/owners-of-nissan-trucks-and-s-u-v-s-report-transmission-failures/. *tr
I got a check engine light on my nissan frontier and brought it to the nissan dealership to have checked and was told i would need to replace the entire transmission and radiator because engine coolant has leaked into the transmission and is destroying the transmission a quick search it seems there are hundreds if not more of people with this same issue of nissan having a poor design and putting many people at risk by having their transmissions seize up at any given time while driving. having coolant leak into the transmission is not a normal wear and tear issue and is gross negligence on behalf of nissan to ignore this problem. *tr
I have a 2006 nissan frontier se 4x4 crew cab with 143396 miles and going about 40-45 miles per hrs i hear a chatter in the rear of the truck. made an appointment with a nissan dealer in my area and the out come was .. the truck needs a transmission and radiator replacement and it is out of warranty the replacement at the dealer would be a cost to me of 5132.13 . nissan had a class action suite in new york and the only win for us consumers was that they extended the mileage to 100,000 . i called nissan and was informed that if i had 120,000 miles on the truck that there would be a cover under the warranty. nissan knows that there is a issue with tranny and radiator but they did no recalls so now we are stuck. if you are on a fixed income who has over 5000.00 dollars laying a round for this kind of repair . i can still drive the truck but its not safe if the tranny shuts down on the hwy then what ? looks like a accident waiting to happen. cant have that . so the truck will sit in my yard till i get some answers that will help me get this issue solved. *tr
as i began to enter the highway and increase speed to about 65 mph, i noticed what felt to be a slip in gears. each time i decreased by speed and increased over 50 mph, i could feel the same type of slip. although i drive my vehicle daily, it is usually for very short distances, as i am in town driving. i have only noticed this slip of gears while on the interstate. today i took my vehicle to the nissan dealership for diagnosis. i was informed that i was no longer under warranty and would have a $2500 deductible for the replacement of the radiator & transmission. my vehicle is properly maintained at recommended intervals, with low mileage. i came home to do some research and learned about the reported radiator/transmission problems for some 2005-2010 nissan truck and suv models. i do not remember ever receiving any information from nissan regarding the potential transmission failure for my make and model and i am disappointed to know that a recall was not issued, as this is a serious safety issue. the service manager also did not mention any of this to me. the only thing that clued me in to an issue was that he mentioned "deductible" and that i was just about 3,000 miles over the warranty. knowing that a power-train warranty is usually 36/36000, i started thinking, how could i only be 3,000 miles outside of the warranty? nissan should be held accountable as numerous reports have been made. extending a warranty to 8/80,000 is also a joke, since most of the reported issues, have not occurred until after 80,000, as in my case. i should not be stuck with this maintenance bill; this is nissan's responsibility. sometimes doing the right thing as opposed to doing the most profitable is in order. too bad nissan does not care enough to keep their customers satisfied, but most importantly, safe! *tr
Vehicle ran hot, was towed to dealership. needed a new radiator transmission fluid mixing with antifreeze. *tr
Driving on busy road at approximately 40mph when my truck started to shake, i slowed my truck to approximately 37 mph, when it sounded like my truck exploded. i could not stop and could barely turn the steering wheel enough to get out of traffic just to smash into the curb where i finally came to a stop. the drive shaft came apart, grabbing the emergency brake cable, winding it around one part of the drive shaft, leaving me stranded with minors on the side of the road waiting for a wrecker to tow my truck. had i have been on the interstate, doing the speed limit (70mph) when this happened, my children and i would have flipped nose over tail, possibly be struck by traffic and seriously injured or killed. *tr
Had a bad vibration in the drive line at a low speed. thought it might be a u-joint. began a search on line and found an article on the frontier's anti-freeze mixing with the transmission fluid and coolant entering the transmission causing failure. i checked the overflow tank and it had trans fluid on top of the coolant and the radiator had a red foam coming out. took it to the nissan dealer and it was confirmed. *tr
Whilst trying to drive forward, the vehicle is unable to have enough momentum to drive- in other words the transmission is not functioning correctly. according to the mechanic i brought it to, i was advised that he has seen this happen with this make/model/year before and it is caused due to an issue with the radiator leaking anti-freeze into the transmission system. *tr
I had driven aprox 20 miles on interstate when i noticed when truck shifted between 4th and overdrive the motor was racing. i turned off cruise control and turned of the overdrive with the trailer switch. i stopped at station checked fluids but everything seemed ok. when leaving station the transmission was slipping when shifting. i was able to drive it home. next day transmission shop told me transmission would need to be rebuilt. after google info i told shop to also replace radiator also. i got the truck back 2 weeks later. after 5 days of driving while traveling home from job. transmission locked up and truck came to stop in middle of road. i looked under hood and found oil in radiator. the truck was towed back to shop. come to find out the shop had replaced with used radiator. the same thing had happened again where antifreeze mixed with transmission oil causing extensive damage, still in shop and waiting on its return. spent 12000 on truck and in first month. 400 miles and 3000 in repairs. and still climbing. *tr
Radiator fluid leaked into transmission due to faulty manufacturing causing transmission to break and be chile to stall. *tr
I was driving on a major highway when all of a sudden the automatic transmission downshifted into second gear. the frontier immediately slowed down. i was driving in front of a tractor trailer and just missed getting rear ended. i've since found out that nissan has been aware of the radiator leaking and cross contaminating with the transmission fluid and blowing out the transmission. this is a dangerous situation with these vehicles involved and nissan should be responsible for correcting their defect regardless of vehicle mileage. this vehicle needs to be recalled and fixed. *tr
I bought a used 2006 frontier 2 years ago and only put 20,000 miles on it and now the coolant is mixing with the transmission fluid and they want to pay 2500 dollars to help fix it. and this bull crap. nissan needs to man up and stand behind there vehicles. dissatisfied customers can spread the word. never buy a nissan. *tr
The transmission stopped and my vehicle would not go faster than 2 mph. i could not get it uphill. i had to have it towed. it was constantly jumping forward prior to this incident. on the highway it felt like it couldn't get out of gear. *tr
Hello, i have a 2006 frontier on it's way to the dealership right now having the radiator & transmission replaced. that is caused from the coolant mixing with the transmission. i don't know how nissan can say this isn't a safety issue when your vehicle can stop in the middle of highway traffic due to your transmission dying. recall needed! thank you! *tr
Last time i changed my oil about a month ago, they were confused at why i had oil in my radiator. they said it was not a good sign! yesterday when i was driving to work, my truck had no power and it eventually stopped moving in the road. the truck was running, but would not engage in a gear and move forward. i had it taken to a local shop to look it over and after a test drive and looking at the transmission and radiator fluids, they said i had a cross contamination of the two systems and it caused the problem. they called the nissan dealer and they said this is a common problem and they have a law suit i can join to get reimbursed for the expense of replacing the cvt. (continuously variable transmission) it will cost about $4,200. i looked online and it looks like nissan also has at cvt replacement program. i wish i would have known about this so i could have had it replaced and not put in danger. *tr
When driving, a "rumbling" noise would come and go and a "whining" noise while accelerating. the rumbling noise was not consistent but would sound like a was driving on the side of the round. it would usually appear around 40-60 mph when i would let off the gas and "coast" and try to press the gas again. i did not know there was a "warranty extension". i was not notified. took the truck into the shop only to find out my transmission was going out due to the fact i have radiator coolant (antifreeze) in my transmission fluid; (over a gallon) cause by a factory defect. something to do with a transmission piece going through the radiator and leaking. mileage for my truck is right at 99,800. barely made the 100,000 miles 3000 dollar so-called nissan warranty extension.. *tr
Transmission failed completely while my daughter was driving leaving her stranded in a busy intersection. vehicle was towed. transmission was found to have radiator fluid in it as well as transmission fluid in the cooling system. after investigating this issue on the internet it is obvious that nissan has been aware of the issue with faulty radiators for a long time. (when i was still under my extended warranty.) had nissan informed owners this could have resolved with a radiator change that i would have gladly done at my expense. now i'm looking at over $4000.00 in repair costs. shame on nissan! *tr
While driving at 40-45 mph i would get a very loud harsh vibration that felt similar to driving over one of the warning strips on side of highways warning you you're going off road. it also eventual would barely move from a stop at a traffic light. took it to local transmission repair shop that informed me the coolant from radiator leaked into trans causing the failure. looks like i'm getting a new trans and radiator. nissan needs to recall and reimburse all these ppl spending thousands on what is obviously a factory defect. i see complaint after complaint of the exact problem i am having. thanks a good luck to everyone. hopefully nissan does the right thing. *tr
Transmission had begun to bump when changing gears. at times it was hard shifting. on 2-10-13 while driving on the interstate, the truck started to run hot. i stopped and had to put water in the overflow tank. continued on the interstate and truck did not run hot anymore. since then, the transmission has gotten worse. some times the transmission vibrates when changing gears. many people on the internet are having the same problem. *tr
Transmission began stuttering and shifting poorly at about 114,000 miles. this is a typical symptom for a problem nissan has known about for some time. a failure in the radiator allows engine coolant to mix with transmission fluid - destroying the transmission. so far it has cost me $1000 to have the radiator replaced and the transmission drained and refilled. $11/quart for special nissan tranny fluid. i expect i may have caught the problem early enough to avoid major transmission damage, but will only use the truck for local trips now. this issue should be a recall issue and nissan held accountable for repairs. *tr
While driving vehicle and accelerating, the transmission hesitated to shift and then jumped into gear causing a lurch in the vehicle. *tr
Coolant has entered transmission fluid, this can cause the vehicle to become immobile in traffic, intersections, etc. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the vehicle stopped accelerating. the contact stated that she turned the vehicle off and smoke emitted from under the hood area. the vehicle was towed to transmission specialist for inspection where they advised the contact that liquid from the radiator leaked into the transmission. as a result, both the radiator and the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified and advised that the vehicle was not under recall. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 111,000.
My nissan dealer told me i need timing chain guides and it would cost me $1600.00, then i go on line and nissan new about this problem in 2009. they said if i had 60,000 miles they would have covered this, they new this was going to happen and did not tell me. this is fraud and something should be done about this.this problem is happening all over the country on these vehicles. what are you going to do about this? *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the transmission slipped. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the transmission fluid leaked into the radiator and the transmission would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Hasn't happened yet, but from all the complaints from 2005-2010 nissan pathfinder, xterra and frontier owners concerning major transmission failures while driving due to cross contamination from a failed transmission fluid line running through the radiator, it's only a matter of time. this defect has been known by nissan for years and as a band-aid solution offered extended warranty coverage for these specific components to 8 years/80,000 miles, knowing full well most problems have a record of occurring just after 100,000 miles. class action law suits against nissan for this defect are now pending in the state of new york. this defect and nissan's lack of concern for preventative action placed this in the 2nd worst problem on carcomplaints.com top vehicle problem trends of 2012 list. as more and more of these model years approach 100,000 miles, more and more catastrophic failures with potential for injury and loss of life will occur. repair after the failure is quite expensive; enough to warrant scrapping the vehicle for those that can't afford the repair bill. time to hold nissan accountable for the problem they have created and allowed the public to bear responsibility for. a recall of all affected models to install an improved automatic transmission line in the oil cooler or rerouting the line to a different add-on oil cooler is needed. *tr
I have a 2006 nissan frontier and for the last 9 or 10 months it becomes "herky-jerky" at various speeds. i only drive this vehicle in the winter so yesterday i took it in to the dealership and today they informed me the coolant had leaked into the transmission. the dealership informed me the cost for the repair is $6500. i asked them if this was something normal and they said it was unusual. i did some checking on the internet and found out there was a settlement agreement regarding this defect. other sites directed me to make a complaint with you because this appears to be a widespread problem and due to the fact the settlement agreement was essentially worthless. given this i am filing this complaint with you in hopes this will turn into a recall. also, made a claim today with nissan and expecting a case worker to call back tomorrow. if they do not agree to pay for the cost of the damage i will take them to small claims. of note, i have only sued one entity before in my life (49yo) and it was nissan back in 1997 and i won. it was a defect in the wiring of my previous frontier. i can say nissan likes to play hard ball and not settle or admit to any of their faults. i gave them more than sufficient evidence and was very patient in this prior claim, but they kept denying. i learned my lesson that time and this time i will not be so patient and will inform them i will taken more expeditiously this time. *js
On my 2006 nissan frontier my radiator coolant mixed in with my transmission oil and it caused my tranny to blow out and also for my timing belt to get messed up and so i had to replace my tranny and radiator and timing belts at a total of over 4 thousand dollars. i really think nissan should make this a recall regardless of your mileage because if they don't hundreds and thousand of people will stop buying nissan. please inform me of anything with the investigation with nissan. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact stated that the transmission cooling system failed and allowed radiator fluid to leak into the transmission causing it to fail. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure. the transmission was replaced at owner's expensive. the failure mileage was 110,000 and the current mileage was 111,500. updated 5/15/13 *cn updated 05/31/2013 *js
About 1 yr ago fuel gauge stopped registering-was unaware of issues, never received notice of issues and past mileage for warranty. i have not been able to afford to fix it,so we are constantly worried about running out of gas. in august of this year, truck running rough, hesitating in low gear. had our mechanic flush transmission, but started again and got intensely worse the past 2 months. unable to afford to fix,we had to wait, but finally no choice but to take it in. radiator leaking into transmission, seals cracked, etc. going to cost 3100 to fix. called nissan, but they basically told me i was out of luck as truck past mileage for standard and extended warranties (that they charge you for, knowing there is faulty transmission). *tr
I purchased the vehicle used with roughly 92,700 miles from a reputable, local, high volume dealer. within a week of owning the vehicle i felt a "shudder," as if driving over a rumble strip on the side of the road, while cruising at approximately 55 mph in top gear on the highway. felt the same sensation one week later and again approximately one month ago. these "shudders" were few and far between but consistent in feeling and duration, only lasting a second or so. while doing an oil change and fluid check on 2-7-2013 and approximately 94,700 miles, i found the coolant in my radiator and overflow tank to be a pink, even bordering on purple, in color and about the same consistency as heavy whipping cream you would purchase from the grocery store. i immediately arranged for the vehicle to be diagnosed at the dealership of purchase the next morning and the three year extended power train warranty dictated such. the service shop's diagnosis confirmed the research i had found linking the discrepant coolant in my radiator to be from a defective transmission cooler line/coil inside the bottom of the radiator that was leaking transmission fluid into my radiator. thus, not recirculating the proper amount of transmission fluid, if at all, back into my transmission causing it to fail and was "shuddering" as a side effect. the service department has told me that because my vehicle was past the 80,000 mile mark at the time of the incident, nissan would require a $3,000 deductible to replace the transmission, transmission cooler lines, and the radiator. as i research further i see this problem is not isolated but quite common. it is also painfully apparent that nissan is very much aware of this issue as well. as a proud owner of a 1985 nissan 720 pickup truck and staunch supporter of nissan products, this situation is disappointing at best and unethical at worst. *tr
The transmission has been compromised due to a faulty radiator. the radiator leaked coolant into the transmission contaminating the transmission fluid. i noticed the vehicle would occasionally shudder and when i had it checked out discovered the problem. hard to believe nissan did practically nothing to notify owners of the problem because it sure was evident that the local nissan dealership was aware of the problem as well as a couple of transmission shops i've visited. *tr
Mechanic stated antifreeze is leaking into transmission. replaced radiator, flushed transmission. *tr
