Recently reported SEAT BELTS problems on 2006 Nissan Frontier

The driver's side seatbelt does not retract correctly. i contacted a local dealership and nissan america. the dealership gave me an estimate, without seeing the truck of $100-$1500.00 to replace the current seatbelt. this is a safety issue and should be for the life of the vehicle, not based on the milage/age of the vehicle. i will certainly let all know about nisaan's lack of concern for the general public which choose to purchase their cars, new or used! not good customer service. i had a honda accord that was 20+ years old and honda replaced the seatbelt and assembly for free, being it was a safety issue!!!!!

Passenger seat belt light flashes on, dealer says connected to computer under passenger seat (reset several times), light still flashes, dealership service says problem with seat sensor and not sure if air bag on passenger side will work or defective (want $800 to $3,000 to diagnose-fix-replace), nissan corporate refuses to fix (says out of warranty), technician unable to say if air bag will deploy in an accident, service manager i deal with told me she had seen at least 10 similar problems with similar vehicles (x 8 service writers means at that dealership alone they have had at least 80 complaints in a month of the same nature x all dealerships??), nissan corporate sent me a $250 gift card for other services at the dealership but refuses to acknowledge or address or attempt to fix a problem they admit they know they have (and i am only referring to nissan frontiers - not all other nissan vehicles). may be a problem with the air bag or a problem with the computer or a problem with the seat sensor or an electrical issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan frontier. the contact stated that while driving 5 mph a vehicle crashed into the rear of her vehicle causing her to crash into an embankment and the air bag failed to deploy. the contact sustained a one inch laceration over her eye, a black eye and bruising. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 65,000. updated 11/28/12*lj the consumer stated the seat belt failed to restrain her. updated 12/3/2012 *js the vehicle was totaled. updated 02/14/13 the consumer stated the passenger seat belt/ air bag assembly was found to be defective in january 2012, and was replaced under warranty. it may also suggest the possibility of a defect on the driver's side. updated 07/01/13

Drivers seat belt has been loose. if the driver is in a car crash the seat belt will not protect driver because it does not lock.

Hit by a sheriff car and was flipped 3 times in a nissan frontier nismo....supposedly with front and side air bags along with roll over air bags. not one deployed. had to get cut out of car and flown into trauma room. in and out of conscience and not feeling legs. now severe back and neck pain. sore abdomens and lower disc disease. nothing done to correct problem. *tr

The passenger seat belt locks and not able to unlock until taken to dealership. this happened right after i bought vehicle around november 2006, and again same thing seat belt locked while passenger sitting down , this is the second time that happens on 3/2008. not able to unlock after the first time the part was supposed to have been replaced a year ago. *tr
