Takata recall - received notice of recall on airbags. will be taking in vehicle to have fixed

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. while operating the vehicle, the passenger side air bag sensor indicator remained illuminated, and did not shut off while an adult passenger occupied the seat. the contacted stated that the indicator remained illuminated at all times while operating the vehicle. the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the local dealer (nissan paublo in paublo, co) was notified, but the manufacturer was not. the failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Takata recall, dashboard warning light illuminates, diagnostc port does not show any code for this problem. had taken to dealer recall a r105 ntb14-02. and still a problem with seatbag illuminating. had it reprogram and came back on again after one day driving the vehicle.

My airbag intermittently does not come on when someone is in the passenger seat.

Takata recall, my driver side airbag warning light is showing on from last 15 days when i just started driving. plus my shift lock sensor is not working. i put the gear on park on a gass station but when i tried to start it wont let me change the gear unless i opened the shift lock cap and tuck something in and try to change the gear to drive the car. since then i have ti tuck something to change the gear from parking to anything else.

Passenger seat air bag warning light stays lit when a adult is sitting in seat. there is a recall for something similar, but we were told our car is not under that recall. my worry is if we have a accident will that front air bag deploy.

I took my car to dealership because my passenger air bag light was staying on they did a diagnostic test on it and found out it was the air bag unit that was the problem they said if i had someone sit in the passenger seat in the front the airbag would not deploy if i got into an accident i did some research and found out that there was a recall on this for the nissan altima in 2016 for the same problem when i talked to someone they said it was not my vin number all i know is that something needs to be done about this i cannot afford to get this fix when i know that there was a recall on this issue

Takata recall... a semi trailer swung and almost hit my car. i swerved and drop off on the shoulder of i-30, i hit the concrete retainer wall at 70mph and no airbag deployed and i had a knot on my head and black eye. also i hit 4 hogs on fm852, again no airbag.

Hello, my 2013 nissan altima has a safety issue with the airbag. since august 2017, the car's airbag alarm light is on。 after this happened, i went to gainesville nissan two times, but the problem is not been solved. the first time was on 9/1/2017. they (gainesville nissan) charged me $34.78 and told me the problem was the airbag sensor, the warning light was removed at that time. but after about two months the airbag light was on the dashboard again. so i went to gainesville nissan the second time, on 3/5/2018. this time they charged $49.95 and still said it was a problem with the airbag sensor. unfortunately, the airbag alarm light show on the dashboard one more time after about one month until now. after these two repairs, i have reason to believe that my 2013 nissan altima airbag has quality problems, and gainesville nissan is very irresponsible. and nissan is recalling cars on a large scale because of airbag problems, i hope my problems can be solved, thanks.

Takata recall the airbag warning light of my 2013 nissan altima has been on for almost two years. i have been gone to nissan dealership two times, after their maintenance, every time the airbag light goes out for a few days, then it lights up again. the airbag must be failed, but the nissan dealer did not replace it.

Takata recall on august 15, 2017 i was in an accident on my way to work in which i swerved so i wouldn't hit a deer and instead hit a tree damaging the front middle portion of my car which,,,to my surprise,,,, my airbags never deployed and the upper portion of my chest hit the steering wheel ... after the tow truck company came & got my vehicle ,, my husband took me to the urgent care clinic where they took xrays of my chest finding that it was just severely bruised... the car was taken to clydes auto body in salida, co. where it was repaired i have all the documents,,, pictures of the damaged car , & hospital receipts & records if required upon reading this complaint... please rsvp asap,,, thankyou [xxx] pics of the car damage on my cellphone if needed. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The air bag light stays on in the dash when driving and when someone sits in the passenger seat the air bag stays off so if i get into an accident none of the air bags will deploy. this happens every time i turn my vehicle on.

I took my vehicle in for a sensory recall for the passenger side airbag. prior to this the airbag indicator light worked properly. the service department at the local nissan dealership adjusted the sensors and since then the airbag indicator has not been working properly. i took the car back to have the service department readjust the sensors in the seat but that did not correct the problem. i have returned to the dealership several times to have the problem corrected but was told they could not see a problem. i have taken them pictures and videos showing a passenger in my car with the airbag light still on. i have contacted nissan corporate with this problem as well. nissan corporate has told me to take my car to the dealership when the light/airbag has not engaged when passenger is in the seat but the last incident happened at 7:30 in the evening when i was out of town. this problem has been ongoing now since 2017. i am reaching out to you because i don't know what else i can do to make my car safe for everyone that rides in it. thank you... i also have a video of a passenger in the seat but can't get it to load to the document.

Takata recall. had my car in the dealer for the airbag recall. ever since the car passanger light stays on even if i sit on it and im 180lbs and the dash airbag light came on several weeks of the recall service. now i took the car back to the dealer and they don't want to honor the problem. they say its related to a different issue than what they did. they want to run a diagnose charge me for it and for the repair costs. the car is unsafe and i don't think i should be responsible since the car airbag system indicators were working correctly before i took it.

Passenger seat sensor does not detect passenger most times, meaning the air bag does not activate. happens more when passenger is seated before the car is started. this happens with any passenger, all different sizes and weights. dealer has not found any error codes, and sensor has been reset multiple times. all previous recalls to this issue have been implemented, issue still exists.

We have not received any recalls since purchase of car.on 06/30/17,my daughter called and informed me the car was having problems. what she described sounded as if there was water in the gas.itold her to drive to the dealer in conway ar.it was brought to our attention there was a recall on the cvt.they reprogramed it and test drove the car. they said it was ok ,but were a little iffy about whether we might have more problems.in the meantime i found out there were several recalls on the car, including the passenger side air bag and the hood latch.these were serious safety problems ,in and we had received no recalls.we would appreciate any assistance you may help with.she said it sounded as if it would blow up,at the time.she brought the car home(3.5 hr. drive)and after a brief stop,it would not budge.i loaded the car on a trailor and took it to the dealer in jonesboro ar.itold the service man about it and that i had contacted nhtsa and was assigned a case #27278124,but he didn't seem too interested in it. i later found the recall on the passenger side air bag.the conway people said they preformed the hood latch recall.p.s,ialso was told the cvt recall was internal.

We brought the car into the dealership because of the ocs recall and they reprogrammed the system but it didn't seem to fix the issue, within the year we had to replace both ocs sensors and have it reprogrammed again. i do not feel they met the intent of the recall and would love to know if this issue is/was common and what if anything can be done about it.

Airbag sensor not detecting weight on passenger seat at all times. problem started when car had a relatively low milage (under 50k). dealership said problem is due to airbag module with no recalls on this specific car. airbags on passenger side are completely not functional at all times. i was very hesitant to file a complaint until now.

This incident occurred 5/3/2017. driver and (180 lb) adult passenger entered car in front seats, clicked seatbelts, started vehicle and drove approx. 1 mile. passenger noticed airbag defeat light was on. driver pulled over; turned car off; restarted car; light went out. the airbag system did not detect an adult passenger upon initial travel, but did after the car was restarted. this vehicle has already had recallntb16-052 applied. on 5/5/2017 dealer could not replicate and has refused service.

Solid red airbag sign is on dashboard. diagnostic port does not show any code for this problem.

Passenger airbag light does not sense passenger sitting in seat to turn air bag on (intermittently) and airbag light is constantly on on the dashboard yet no codes have been shown when mechanic tried to pull codes. light is on constant when in motion or stationary. passenger air bag light sometimes senses, other times it does not.

My airbags in my car are non-functional. the red and yellow airbag lights are on for the duration of any trip in the car. the sensor that is supposed to detect an adult in the passenger seat does not function so the passenger airbag is always off -attachment 1. i went to the deacon jones nissan dealership in goldsboro nc on 4-12-17 for the recall on this issue. the "reprogramming" that was done was ineffective. this was not reported to me. i returned to the dealership on 7-6-17 to get the issue addressed. i was told that my car had no recalls outstanding and i would need to pay out of pocket to get the airbag control unit replaced. instead i elected to call nissan to see if they could offer an explanation or remedy the problem. i called and spoke with [xxx] agentid: [xxx]. he created a case and sent it to their repair specialists. today, 7-11-17 i spoke with [xxx] the case manager. he informed me that nissan would not be replacing the defective airbag control unit and that i would need to pay to have it replaced out of pocket. my concerns are: 1. nissan isn't taking their customers safety seriously. some people would simply not be able to pay to have this defective unit replaced and could suffer injury as a result. 2. the airbag control unit (if i replaced it out of pocket) would fail again. 3. the airbag unit reprogramming has been ineffective on other cars and doesn't seem to address the issue. similar to the hood latch issue which required 3 recalls to address. http://blog.caranddriver.com/nissan-recalls-altima-for-third-time-to-fix-hood-latches/ attachment 2 = second trip to dealership attachment 3 = recall sheet attachment 4 = notes of conversations with nissan attachment 5 = pdf of my vin number form nthsa website this is the air bag control unit recall information from nissan. http://www.coylenissan.com/recall.html information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

2013 nissan altima 2.5s was serviced on december 19, 2016 at planet nissan 5850 centennial center blvd. las vegas, nv 89149 dealer performed r1609 ocs recall & pc490 cvt reprogram recall. during these process some electrical items damage. now cvt (continues variable transmission) is failing. on april 6, 2017 took vehicle to autonation nissan las vegas 5800 w. sahara ave the service consultant said cvt is bad and needs to be replace but nissan do not want to pay. vehicle drives but when you reach 25-35 miles per hour it jerks, also 65 miles per hour it jerks then it looses power, vehicle comes to a stop and it does not move. this vehicle is not safe to be on the road. nissan needs to correct this issue before somebody gets injured.

Despite multiple recalls and fixes to the passenger airbag (all open recalls completed), there are still times when a normal weight passenger is in the passenger seat and the airbag light indicates that it is off with no passenger present. the dealer has not been able to fix this, despite all the visits/recalls to date. it is not a permanent fault, just an occasional fault - passenger normally around adult/teenagers 200lb

Nhtsa recall 16v-244 (r1609) was performed by dealer capitol nissan in wilmington nc on 2/220/17 and only made the problem worse. this was the third time that the dealer had attempted to reprogram/address the problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. the contact stated that the air bag indicator randomly flashed and then remained illuminated. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa action numbers: ea15004 (air bags) and (rq15001) air bags along with four unknown air bag recall campaigns. the vehicle was not diagnosed. darcars nissan college park (9330 baltimore ave, college park, md 20740, (301) 441-8000) was notified, but an appointment was not scheduled. the vehicle was also taken to tischer nissan (3510 fort meade rd, laurel, md 20724, (301) 498-3322) where it was determined that the vehicle was not included in any air bag recall campaigns. neither dealer provided the guidelines to inspect and diagnose the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available.

Airbag light stays on, on dashboard. acquired car in that condition from carmax southwest freeway houston, tx 77074

Passenger air bag not recognizing when someone is in the seat. airbag remains off even with a passenger in the seat. the dealer has looked at the car multiple times and they state they can not find the problem. they have worked on the sensors and recalibrated them but the light continues to go on and off and airbag appears to be nonfunctional. dealer says they can not duplicate the issue and system is operating as designed.. light continues to come on intermittently when the seat is occupied

The ocs passenger side airbag sensor is no longer working. nissan has refused to make any necessary repairs to ensure the safety of the vehicle. nissan rep.quinn, first claim it was due to mileage. the second call, from yesterday, she stranded it was a warranty issue. given the continuing issues with the sensor, the interest of public safety and the lack of assistance with repairs, it is necessary to report this defect to the nhtsha.

2013 nissan altima s - safety system defect / malfunction problem:2 aspects (1)the ocs airbag and seatbelt system warning light "incorrectly indicates" a passenger is not in the seat when in fact the seat is occupied! this condition "turns off the air bag protection for an adult passenger!" (2)the seatbelt light 'incorrectly indicates' that a passenger is unbelted. erroneous test results: nissan 'tests' this safety system on equipment programmed by nissan ' via a humanly devised algorithm. in other words, since the 'test equipment' is programmed incorrectly, the results will be wrong. proof: nissan has recalled to reprogram my vehicle 4 times (i think) ' a new 'test' algorithm. additionally, nissan refuses to acknowledge that there could be a faulty components of this safety system. if the 'test' fails to show a system fault. nissan ignores the problem. nissan refuses to replace components of this faulty system. 2013 ' 2017ocs system malfunction continues after multiple reprogrammings by nissan. nissan has never fixed this faulty system. nissan needs to replace this safety system immediately!

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. the contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning indicator was constantly illuminated. the failure appeared after the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 39,900.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. the contact's vehicle was repaired per an unknown air bag recall. after the recall repair, the dealer (d-patrick nissan, 4200 e division st, evansville, in 47715) stated that due to the recall being repaired, the sensor for the air bag on the passenger side would no longer work properly. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the same information as the dealer. the failure mileage was 115,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). while the engine was running and the passenger seat was occupied, a warning indicator illuminated, which meant that the air bag was deactivated. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 36,600. updated 04/06/17 lj the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired under recall, twice. the failure recurred. updated 08/29/2017*js

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. the contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. the contact mentioned that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated after the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 52,435.

When an adult passenger sits in the front passenger seat the airbag dash light does not go off to indicate that air bag is functional! this is while in motion, stationary, and can sporadically work as it should but i am still concerned that the system is malfunctioning! !

Vehicle was moving on a city street when it was hit on the driver side door by another vehicle. side air bags did not deploy after recent recall work regarding srs was performed. please see attached documentation. *tr

The passenger side airbag activation mechanism in some of 2013 nissan altima doesn't work properly. nissan already had two recalls on it but they never able to fix it. even if someone is sitting on passenger side, the airbag light on the dashboard is activated randomly, that means airbag will not open in case of crash. it is a very serious flaw. in the recent recall they simply made a s/w update to flip the airbag light switch on/off logic. nothing was done to fix the core issue. it again randomly switches on/off when a person is sitting. i have talked to nissan and they don't seem to care about it. they are just trying to hide or circumvent this issue or trying to tell customers that there is no issue at all. it has been more than three years and nissan is not fixing this issue .everytime they will say it's fixed either after recall or repair but in reality they are just trying to circumvent it through s/w upgrades.

The amber passenger airbag disabled light stays on with the red airbag system warning light flashing continuously flashing.all of the recall notices i have read don't include my car but the criteria seem to fit the recall notices.

Brakes make squeaky noise all the time. passanger airbag sign does not show even if someone is sitting

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. while driving various speeds, the front passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated. even when the vehicle was in park, the air bag indicator illuminated even when the front passenger seat was unoccupied. the indicator displayed air bag off once the seat was occupied. the dealer was notified. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 49,000.

I was in an accident and the air bags did not deploy. my children and i were injured. i serviced my car at nissan for the airbag recall twice. i received a recall from nhtsa and nissan wouldn't comply. every time i've taken my car for the brake pads to be serviced i only need rotors never brake pads! the driver side door handle broke for no reason what so ever this car is a clunker!

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan altima. the contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. the vehicle was repaired under a manufacturers recall on the air bags but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the air bag sensor was reprogrammed. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the technician stated that the manufacturer would be made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 71,094.

Fixed twice through previous recalls but still does not detect a passenger in the front passenger seat and automatically turns off the airbag.

The orange passenger airbag light came on right after i purchased the car in 96/97/2015,with the number 1 underneath. this light would go away every once in a while based on usage. in the last 3months or more august 2016 is when the red airbag warning light starting flashing when car is turned on moving, with a passenger or without. *tr

Passenger air bag recall was completed by nissan dealer as a "software" fix. end result leaves passenger air bag light in illuminated position when passenger seat empty. at night, this creates a serious distraction and causes driver to take eyes off road. distraction could cause injury/death. nissan factory rep refuses to remedy problem and will make no further repairs.

Airbag off light will remain on for 5-10 minutes with an adult passenger seated in the passenger seat and car in drive. issue is intermittent and continues to occur after fix recommended in the spring 2016 nissan recall. nissan reports they cannot address it unless they witness it and being an intermittent issue, have not been able to do so. video proof of this has been documented.

I was in a accident where i hyroplanned and the back end hit a ditch and my car went onto the median on the freeway and i totaled my car and the airbags did not deploy

Airbag light has been going off n on w no passenger...scared somethings not gonna work in the event of an accident. car jerking on hghwy not accelerating ..n loss of power mid drive or turn..i have kids n this is becoming a death trap..w no ck engine light .

Takata recall : airbag light turned on dash all of a sudden. airbag light was noticed when vehicle was turned on and stationary. vehicle hasn't been in any accident.
