On average, the 2005 Nissan Altima starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 119 911 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2005 Nissan Altima

Recently ive been getting the red airbag signal that keeps flashing and wont go off. ive checked the fuses. wiring. ran diahnostics on it for that and the following issues as well. the car makes a high pitch sound when its just ideling that seems to come feom underneath the car maybe towards back middle ive gotten a new fuel pump checked wiring fuses and bought other new parts and have been unable to figure out what it is. also the gas gauge wont read after the half way point. ive tried to reset it calibrate it and nothing. during cold days the gas gauge reads correctly until the car warms up. mo ths have gone by and nothing so far

Takara recall. sensors are malfunctioning also my muffler is going. check engine has been on but started blinking when sensor's started acting up. cant afford to fix this being how i'm a single mother and low income. i herd about this recall on my 05 altima. and had to check it out.

Fuel custer gage

I've called to see if there's a recall on the car fuel system to be exact fuel gauge is reading full is broken.reads full when there's only 5 to 6 gallons of gas.they won't even look at it free of charge to see what the issue is.this happens when i'm driving or sitting.

On multiple occasions while driving down a highway my vehicle shuts down and will not restart with the fuel gage showing 1/4 tank. it was determined the vehicle ran out of fuel which resulted in fuel line requiring cleaning and replacement of fuel pump. multiservice eagle tire replaced multiple fuel pumps with no success. the local nissan dealership and maintenance shop expressed no resolution regarding this problem. multi service eagle tire removed pump to check for bent float arm and everything looked okay. when testing resistance of fuel level sensor weird reading at bottom end of spectrum and in the middle saw a high resistance reading. possible sending unit and/or gauge cluster concern. additionally, when filling tank the fuel gage reflects 440 miles available; this reading is usually 330. after using all available resources, repair shop returned vehicle to customer without repair. i am concerned for the safety of driver and other vehicles if this event happens again. currently, the vehicle is shared by three teenagers and two adults. i'm concerned an accident is inevitable during heavy traffic periods.

Car shuts down no power will not start. back up on the freeway it just shuts off with no warning this is not the first time this problem will kill me or ppl around me on the road. it will stop and you can't put on your brakes nor steer to move to a save place

I was driving myself and co worker home from work. while driving down a city street my car just stalled out and would not start. i could have been on the highway, our lives were put at risk due to a defect in the cam shaft position censor on my 2005 nissian altima. the consumer would like an update on the investigation into the camshaft position censor and the fuel pump. the consumer believed the failure was due to an incomplete recall that was performed on the camshaft censor. *js

Vehicle engine stoped while approaching traffic light.was a little late in starting up again.it just died.went to autozone, gave me a code po335,which indicated a fault in the crankshaft position sensor.call the local nissan dealer and asked for a ecm reprograming, which is covered on recall ro606,nothing was done.please help.

My car has been checked thru a scanner since it wont start.at first it started not wanting to turn on on the first try. it did that for about a couple of months til i decided to just station it...and now it cranks as if it wants to start up but it doesnt start up. so ive replaced the camshaft sensor but it still wont start so i was told its the fuel pump that needs replacement so i was going to purchase one but was told theres a recall on such part for nissan altima 2005. what can i do to get it fixed?

My gas guage read half, while turning car ran out of gas. power steering and brakes failed when engine shut off. fortunately i was turning into inside lane on 8 lane street because it took all 5 lines to safel roll to stop. after asking nissan 700 to check fuel system senso 4/bolt 1 plug solid piece. went to aaa $150 to check and determined guage not sensor. $600 to maybe repair part. called nissan 6 bolts 1 plug to replace guage module with 3rd party repaired used module from another state. module has to be sent prior to 3rd party sending part. internet horror stories. 6-60 day turn around and vehicle cannot be driven while part is out of car. main reason: speedometer and odometer are part of module. module requires reprogramming to current vehicle mileage before moving. nissan should carry parts in stock due to both dangerous safety and mileage issues related to failure of either module ar fuel sensor. i am pretty strong although 66 but youger, female or older folks in similar situations could end up in building, tree or anothe vehicle. not knowing when car is die without warning is a dire safet issue.. recalls should be enforced by failure numbers, not %age of failures per model. 50% of a model that sold 200 is not as dangerous as 50% of 100,000 sold. the 2005 altima ser was a very limited model of altima but oem parts should be available until at least a majority of them are off the road when the relate to safety. nissan seems to get away with out recalls for safety recalls, high frequency issues, service guaging and from what i hear known lemon problems. why????

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan altima. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the contact mentioned that the fuel filler hose was corroded and the check engine warning light illuminated. the failure occurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure was undetermined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 204,000.

Rough idle. 3 years ago it did the same thing and i had the 0'2 sensors replaced and the crankshaft position sensor replaced. i drive it in town so in the 3 years i have put about 25,000 miles on it. the service engine soon light is on now and nissan told me that i need to take it to a dealership and pay them to check out the engine and send nissan the results and they "may" reimburse me for the cost of checking it out. i just replaced the spark plugs last week because i was told them needed replaced. it ran fine for a little while now back to same things. i have noticed that it leaks a little oil, about the size of a nickel over the course of 2-3 days. there is also oil round the crankcase. wondering why might be. thanks *tr
