Tl* the contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. the contact stated that the brake, the driver seat belt and air bags failed. the contact experienced an intended acceleration. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop and the emergency brake also failed to stop the vehicle. as a result the contact crashed into an embankment. the air bag failed to deploy. the contact sustained back and head injuries that was encounter with the steering wheel and windshield. the front passenger sustained lower back injuries both required medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow lot. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 144,000.
I have received letter for recall and letter stating there parts available for this recall. i called the nearest dealer an gave my info and the response was that they have not yet received parts. i attempted again being that i had not heard from them after them stating that they would call when parts came available. it's has been over a year, an in the year i have been in two accidents. i need this issue to be fixed replaced or refunded of the car value. the wait has been way too long causing anxiety with the stress of being severely hurt or even killed. * (recall related incident) ts
Tl* the contact owned a 2012 lincoln mkz. the contact stated that while on the interstate driving 50 mph, there was a two vehicle collision and all the vehicle attempted to stop but it caused multiple collisions. the contact depressed her brake pedal however she crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained bruises to the stomach from the seat, head, both shoulders, knees, chest and both arm injuries that required medical attention. the contact mentioned the other driver was not injured. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow lot and was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. the vehicle was destroyed. the vin was part of nhtsa campaign number: 19v001000 (air bags). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. but did not assist. the approximate failure mileage was 135,000.
I am having a really hard time getting this air bag replaced with a local dealership the only dealership in radius. mtn view lincoln ford chattanooga, tn. this is the only vehicle i drive and i advised them i would need a loaner while this repair is being done. the first time i called with a cs representative on the phone they advised me they didn't have a part but could order it. i asked about a loaner the rep told me only the service manager can approve that and i was sent to his desk where i left a message. i didn't receive a call back. Takata recall. my airbag indicator light remains on. based on research it indicates that my front airbags may not activate during an accident. this light appeared a few weeks ago. this is concerning as i often travel with small children and makes me wonder about the safety of everyone in the car. unable to sale car due to this issue. i do not want to pay for a repair in which the makers of takata inflators are responsible for repairing.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 lincoln mkz. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v001000 (air bags). the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the contact did not want to wait two weeks to schedule a recall repair appointment. west herr ford of amherst (2600 millersport hwy, getzville, ny 14068, (716) 810-1319) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.
A vehicle stopped suddenly in front of me because a car did the same in front of them. i braked suddenly but it felt like my vehicle was being pushed from behind, my steering wheel air bags deployed so did the sides. the air bags deployed before the impact blinding me as i rear ended the car in front. i suffered burns, bruises, neck injuries and lower back pain. i was driving no more than 25-30 miles per hour. my car was a total lost and i had owned it for less than a year.
