Power boost on brakes fails intermittently. when the power boost goes out, the car either fails to stop, or if already stopped, then jumps forward until the driver stomps the brake to the floor to stop. it's extremely dangerous.
The brake booster failed on my vehicle and was just replaced by the dealership for nearly $900 dollars. this is the 2nd major safety issue i have had with this vehicle because the throttle body had an issue that caused the vehicle to completely shut down while driving with no warning. that was replaced at no cost but i had to do my own research for the repair and that issue could have caused an accident with injuries or death. because lincoln determined that my particular vin is not eligible then the cost is on me, again a major safety issue that could have caused injury and death when the brakes barely stopped. i know i cannot recover money for own repair but i feel ford/lincoln should not be able to get away with making their own determinations of what vehicles should be covered when they are at fault for building a poor. substandard product. i do not want other owners to be railroaded by this policy.
Takata recal' my brakes make this hissing noise when i step on it and sometimes the car would not stop. the car would keep roller after a apply the brakes and sometimes the padal would not go all the way down so i have to use extra force trying to stop my vehicle. it dos it on turning on the high way or on a main street with a speed limit of thirty mills an hour. im not driving my car right now because of that problem. i had my kid and wife in the vehicle with me when this happend and i was scared that i was gonna hit the other car so i had to swerve to the side of the high way to stop.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 lincoln mkx. while driving approximately 10 mph over a pothole, the brakes failed to operate as intended. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure recurred several times. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 50,000. the vin was not available.

Tried to tap the brakes to take the cruise control off and it wouldn't disengage. tapped harder and then stomped on the brake to release it and stop from hitting the car in front of me. after that, it was very hard to make the brakes work. took it a ford dealer while it was still under warranty and they claimed they couldn't duplicate it. finally took it to a lincoln dealer after the 50k mile warranty expired and they made me pay for a new brake booster. now the car won't start everytime because it says the brake isn't depressed, but of course, it was! *tr
