The headlights turn off randomly. sometimes it's the left headlight and sometimes it's the right headlight and other times it's both headlights. it happens at night and during the day. no warning no indication only that the road goes black. it happens when the car is stationary and while driving it happens summertime and winter time. the only way to get them on is to turn them off and on. the problem occurs regardless of whether the headlight switch is in the on or auto position. problem is continual.

The issue that i am having with my 2007 lexus es 350 is while im in motion on a highway or street both of my headlights will shut off leaving the street completely dark putting me and my family at risk for an accident. i have to manually turn the headlight switch off then on again and thats when they will come back on, however this can happens several times while in motion during one extend driving period. sometimes the left headlight will turn off and the right stays on and vice versa for the right or both. i contacted the dealership and they said i needed the headlamp replaced but once i did some research on this issue with the make and model of my vehicle i realized there are numerous of individuals having the same dangerous issue with having the headlamps replace the issue still remains the headlamps shut off completely inhibiting the view of the highway at night.

Exterior lights on low beam intermittently go off, first one side then sometimes the other, i was once traveling on the interstate at night 70 mph and they both went out. once i pulled over and turned them on and off several times they came back on and about 10 miles down the road the right one went out again. this has been going on for about 6 months. my mechanic replaced the bulbs and checked fuses. it's still happening. oddly, when the headlight goes out the indicator light on the dash doesn't light up either. sometimes i'd drove the car into work and someone would say i have a headlight out and i'd take it to my mechanic (which happened more than i can say) and they would be fine, until the next time. this is a serious safety issue and i'm not sure if my car will pass the annual inspection. there's only 81,000 miles.

Low beam xenon headlight on drivers & passengers side intermittently shuts off. at times both low beam headlights flicker and shut off completely causing no vision at night. when the lights are switched off then back on they work once again but usually for a few minutes only. pulled over by cops and when. it seems like it is a know problem and lexus does not want fix it!!! *tr

While driving at night my headlights went out. i turned them off and on quickly and they came back on. this has happened several times since the first incident. this is a serious safety concern. i googled to see iof there have been other reports of this problem and i was shocked to see so many. i was also shocked to see that the dealers wanted to replace the headlights before checking the electrical system or computer. it happened again tonight and i plan on contacting my local lexus dealer tomorrow morning. *tr

While driving at night the headlights went out. they began to work intermittently. the dealer replace both headlight bulbs. *kb

07/lexus/es350/4dr for the past 6 months, my headlights have been going on and off. i can be driving at night, and the lights will just go out. then i am left to drive in the dark. sometimes if i turn the lights off and then back on again, they will come back on, but only briefly. this is a safety hazard. i am fine as long as it is daytime, but at night, this is quite scary. the dealership has told me that it would cost $800 dollars to replace both lights. then they said it would cost $400 to replace them with less than standard bulbs. this is unacceptable - just for headlight bulbs. please help me before someone gets hurt. thank you *tr

Hello, i bought a 2007 lexus es 350, september 2009, and drove it a few nights since then. the car has been parked in my garage because i can barely see when i drive the car at night because the headlights which are hid afs headlights only illuminate about 4 or 5 feet in front of the car . luckily i have a second car to drive, but would prefer driving my new car. we were driving on an interstate with no other lights around and we drove it in the city the next night. the headlights are unacceptable because we can barely see with them at night. it's worse obviously outside cities, but also difficult even where there are street lights. we can see clearly a few feet in front of the car, but then there is a line between dark and light. above the line is what can only be described as a black wall. this makes you out drive your headlights constantly, like driving blind. the headlights appeared to be so low that you could barely see the bottom third of the car in front of you. very dangerous and scary. the afs are turned off. so that's not the problem. i am schedule to visit the lindsay lexus dealership located in alexandria virginia, tomorrow 11/13/09 and asked if they could adjust the headlights. i have called the lexus 1-800 customer service number today and hope they will solve the problem at no cost to me. i've since heard other people complain about this same problem in this car. i consider myself lucky to have made it home safely. it seems like it's an accident waiting to happen. because the headlights are beaming too low towards the road, causing poor visibility when driving at night. ***no incidents at this time*** i appreciate your help with this matter. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 lexus es350. the contact stated that his headlights were beaming too low and caused poor visibility when driving at night. the dealer and manufacturer stated that they could not be of assistance or change the headlights. the current mileage was 2,500 and failure mileage was 20.

I bought a lexus es 350, 2007, on jan. 12, 2007, and drove it at night for the first time on feb. 2, 2007. the car has hid headlights with afs. we were driving on an interstate with no other lights around and we drove it in the city the next night. the headlights are unacceptable because we can barely see with them at night. it's worse obviously outside cities, but also difficult even where there are street lights. we can see clearly a few feet in front of the car, but then there is a line between dark and light. above the line is what can only be described as a black wall. this makes you out drive your headlights constantly, like driving blind. the headlights appeared to be so low that you could barely see the bottom third of the car in front of you. very dangerous and scary. we took the car back to the dealer, who said he turned the afs off and it would be ok. it wasn't ok. it was exactly the same with the afs off or on, so the next day we went back to the dealer and asked if he could adjust the headlights. he said the company did not allow them to adjust the headlights. i have called the lexus 1-800 customer service number today and hope they will solve the problem, but i've since heard other people complain about this same problem in this car. i consider myself lucky to have made it home safely both nights that i have driven this car. it seems like it's an accident waiting to happen. *jb
