I bought this car a few weeks ago, and when i test drove it, i did not feel what i feel almost on a daily basis now. it happens more so when going 40 mph or more and can feel it on the straightaways. the steering wheel feels like it gets locked or stuck and it takes more force to straighten the car out. i can never get the car to go perfectly straight as it veers to one side of the line and when i try to correct it, the stickiness allows for it to over correct which causes me to veer to the other side. i am constantly trying to keep my car going straight and it's a struggle and frustrating and i feel like i can never have just 1 hand on the wheel. we bought this car for the 3 row seating and liking to travel with family and a new baby on the way. i feel like this is very unsafe and needs to be looked at but when taken to the dealer all we get back is "cannot replicate customer complaint." some days are better than others, like it engages and disengages. i have ...
I lost power steering three times. the power steering light went on each time. on two of the occasions the vehicle was towed to the local dealer. it was towed to modesto kia and paso robles kia, both in california. in modesto , 1/18, i was told it was a dirty battery cable that the car had reset itself and there were no more problems with the power steering. nine days later on 1/27, it went out again in cambria, ca. this time i was driving but was able to move to a safe place. the kia dealership in paso robles said when the car arrived the light was off and there were no issues with the power steering. i was told they would put miles on the car in an effort to recreate the problem. that afternoon as it was set to be driven by the technician the light went on and power steering was lost. i was told the technician saw a problem in the fuse box, he fixed it and the car was able to be driven. i was told there was nothing else ...
While in motion the stearing wheel has a feel of resistance to directional control then seconds later a feeling of release of the resistance. this happens intermittently on straight sections of highway.
My 2014 kia sorento had 38,283 miles on it and the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. prior to taking into the mechanic for repair i noticed a clicking/pop sound when i would turn my steering wheel. i was advised by the mechanic that it was faulty part and wore out very quickly. i called kia to see what they had to say about it and they said that they had no complaints with this issue. i was also advised that it about 3-6 months and i may need to replace another part of the steering but at this time it is working within manufacturers specs. thanks fully i purchased an extended warranty that covered the repairs, however i still believe that kia should look into this.
Days previous to event was getting warning alerts on different problems. called dealership when warning alerts continued happening. on day of event was driving on major route, when power steering became difficult as i pulled over the entire car shut down. no lights, no braking, no hazard lights to engage all systems down.
Tl* the contact owns a 2019 kia sorento. the contact stated that while driving at 45mph, auto lane correction warning light illuminated. the contact lost control of the steering somehow managed to gain control which was difficult to steer the wheel and veer to the shoulder of the road. the contact then turn the vehicle off and back on and drove at low speed to the residence. roadside assistance was contacted and towed the vehicle to greenway kia of hickory hollow 5406 target dr, antioch, tn 37013 (615) 731-0099 where it was diagnosed that the alternator failed needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the contact was informed that the vehicle was not subjected to a recall. the failure mileage was approximately 10,200. b
My 2016 sorento (ex) has sticky steering. kia is aware of this problem and issues an upgrade to the cars computer system but it did not fix the problem. when trying to move the steering wheel, it initially sticks and requires extra force to get it to provide a steering input. once it gets past the initial resistance, it jerks the car in the direction you are trying to go which required compensation in the other direction. upon correction, it jerks the car in the opposite direction causing a continual need to correct the steering wheel to keep the car straight and causing the car to not be able to maintain perfectly straight travel. on large sweeping corners, this problem is even more pronounced and feels dangerous. my car is out of its bumper to bumper warranty and despite me having the car into kia dealerships twice while in warranty and the original computer "fix" not working, kia is not guaranteeing that when i bring the car back that it will be fixed under warranty. the fix for the problem is replacing the steering rack or other steering components. ...
Driving to work this past tuesday 12/24/2019, while driving my car did this jerk move and then all the electrical signs popped up i couldn't brake or steer my stirring wheel .its as if my car locked up on me. luckily i was able to turn off a side road avoiding on coming traffic. and but the car in park. i was stuck for 2 hours. my check engine light was the only light that stayed on. i couldn't start the car at all. luckily i called my cousin to see if she could try and give me a jump too see if it worked. in which it did i then took my vehicle up to auto zone where they out it on the diagnostic machine. where my battery and alternator were fine. it was very scary for this vehicle to have shut off on me like this i am just glad i was not on the highway or it could have been a really bad outcome for me. the upload option isn't allowing me to upload the video or my picture from the say it occured.
