Vehicle burns out blinker bulbs and headlights at an extremely accelerated rate: one a month. additionally, the wiring harness is heated to the point of being melted. this is a fire hazard. i believe this may be a voltage regulation or ground issue.
I am having an issue with the second window motor on this vehicle. from reading reviews, it's a common problem.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia optima. the contact stated that while her father was driving at 70 mph, the vehicle shut off completely without warning. the contact's father stated that the vehicle had made abnormal noises prior to the failure. the contact was able to pull off to side of the road and had to have the vehicle towed to their home due to vehicle not restarting. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and requested that the contact pay for a tow to a local dealer to have the vehicle inspected; the contact refused. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 145,362.

On 12/27/19 while travelling from pa to fl on the highway for a family vacation, travelling about 75 mph at 5:00am in columbia, sc the dash display read check hybrid system, and suddenly shut down. engine stopped running, steering wheel began stiffening, i coasted from the passing lane to the right lane and then to the shoulder without incident and was able to safely park the car. kia failed to provide roadside assistance since the car has over 60,000 miles(actually has 121,398 miles approx). the car was towed to the jts kia dealership via my insurance coverage in columbia, sc. after the assessment i was told i had a blown main hybrid fuse which caused the battery and the relay assembly to fail. charged $1756.89 to replace the fuse, battery, and relay assembly. i present this as a safety issue because had i been on a major highway with my family in the middle of traffic, there would be no way possible to reach a lane shoulder without possible harm or death. according to kia's own "technical operations notice - ps515(rev 2, 02/28/2019" dated august 2017), they are fully aware of this problem. the battery fuse is to be replaced ...
I was on the interstate traveling at approx 70 mph changed lanes and when i went to accelerate the vehicle stalled lost power i coasted to the breakdown lane and attempted to start the vehicle. it would not start. i had aaa tow it to a hardings garage in fairfield. the technician said this morning the vehicle started but stalled as soon as he tried to move it. he told me that there was a kia recall 17v224000 that applied to the engine so i got aaa to tow the vehicle to charlies kia in augusta, me. they tell me that there is no recall on my vin. why would i have the same stalling as indicated in the recall if my vin does not apply???
I have never had any issues with my car, i get maintenance as scheduled so it's odd that this is even happening. on december 6th i went to move my car. i crank the car with no problem. i noticed it kind of hesistated slightly, but continued on with no problem. when i went to put my car in reverse in order to park it stalled and about 5 or 6 of the lights on the dash came on, the steering wheel went hard to manage/steer and as 6 other lights started blinking, i could no longer manipulate my wheel so i allowed the car to roll into the spot because i was on a slight incline and put it in park. the moment i did that the car cut off. it would not turn over, it would not do anything besides click when i tried to crank the car again. i eventually asked someone for a jump and managed to make it home. the next day i got up and drove as i normally would and thats when the eletric power steering warning light came on. when that light comes on the car becomes hard to maneuver. thankfully that ...
While i was driving the car stop running while in motion on a city street.

Hello i am nychole and in october of 2017 i purchased a brand new 2018 kia optima . never really had any issues with it until fri nov 22. as i was leaving from work my car did a very abrupt jerk that i acknowledged but didn't think anything of it because my gas light had just came on. but today which is sunday my car's eps (electric power steering) light flashed. weirded out i look at the manual in the glove compartment. as i eased into my apartment complex the car did that same jerk, the steering wheel went hard to manage/steer and 6 other lights started blinking( parking break light, epb light ,abs light, esc light ,battery charge light, and the master malfunction light) . i could no longer manipulate my wheel so i pull forward onto a open spot and put it in park. the moment i did this the car cut off. it will not turn over, it will not do anything besides tick. i have been great with maintenance because it was either free or dirt cheap so i always took it to the dealership. i have read more reviews of people going through similar things. ...
