Each door has a leak. every time it rains water enters the jeep. i don't know if the seals are defective but all four doors seals need to be replaced.
While inspecting the vehicle i noticed several (many) welds on the frame of the vehicle that was very poor. however, in addition to poor weld quality, i noticed several welds that were poorly painted/treated and raw metal and rust are visible to the naked eye. having contacted the dealerships in the area no one will return my calls. i will be personally treating the areas and repainting to avoid worsening condition.
Steering/wandering issue with 2019 unlimited sport stock tires/configuration. seems dangerous on the road. difficult to drive and return to straight after turning. won't go back to straight after turning and seems to be a lot of slack in the steering.
There is galvanic corrosion forming on all of my hinges on my vehicle. the steel hinges touching the aluminium door panel. you can see the bubbling happening and it is a known issue on jeep wranglers. eventually it will rust and cause major problems being that it is happening on all of my door hinges. i first noticed it in 2016 and it continues to get worse. you can google rust on wrangler door hinges and see the thousands of pictures of jeep owners with the same issues, or go onto a jeep forum or talk to any jeep wrangler owner. i can provide my own pictures if needed i didn't take any yet.
Back in october 2019, i rented a new jeep wrangler from enterprise for a trip to chicago for work. while both traveling to and from chicago, i had two instances while traveling on route 80 in ohio, where i went over small bumps, and this caused the vehicle to shake violently. on the return trip home, i actually had to pull off the side of the highway and slow down to approximately 25 miles per hour to get the shaking to stop. when returning the vehicle to enterprise, i informed them of what happened. they then stated they get a lot of complaints about the wrnagler and would take some money off of my bill. i told them they don't understand, and that there is something seriously wrong with this vehicle and that my wife has the same vehicle and if this happened in her car, i would not allow her to drive it. fast forward to the night of 12/6/2019. while traveling to my wife's christmas party (in her 2018 jeep wrangler) on route 680 northbound at 60 mph, i hit a small bump in the road. the steering wheel along with the rest of the ...
Bonded intrusion bar separated from door skin. separation causes rubbing/chaffing/noise when door is operated and was what alerted me to the presence of the issue. taken to dealership and was told the door must be replaced in order to fix the issue. this exact same issue happened in my 2018 jeep wrangler rubicon and they replaced the front two doors on my jeep. fca has clearly not corrected this design issue, and i am concerned that it leads to a weakened structural integrity/safety feature of the vehicle. i am also concerned that because the fix includes repainting part of a brand new vehicle, many people will not want to have their vehicles repaired. also, depending on personality, it may be very easy to overlook the noise that called my attention to the issue in the first place. bonding like this is used extensively in modern vehicles. if they have a problem with it in this location, do they have a problem with it in other locations or vehicles that aren't being addressed. clearly there is evidence that this is a continued issue across model years, not an isolated incident.
You can clearly see my welds are rusting, have pits in them, and their is excess slag visible on frame. i know this is an outstanding issue, but wanted to report my case as it appears to be what ive read about an investigation into this. vehicle is only 5 months old off the dealers lot.
Stopped at stop light. car stationary. out of nowhere engine accelerates on it's own and runs into an 18 wheeler truck that is passing through in intersection. i tried to stop forward thrust by putting both feet on brake, taking out of gear which wouldn't budge, then pulling up on hand brake. after hitting back trailer wheel of truck and jeep raising back end off ground from impact acceleration stopped and engine idled.sudden unintended acceleration. manufacturer defect. accident still under investigation by insurance company. jeep towed to body shop.
While driving above 60mph if i run over a pot hole or a bridge expansion joint i lose my steering .if i don't slow down to 30mph quickly i will not have control. the part that concerns me is that i already was serviced for the steering recall .
Frame welds have spatter and look incomplete. images were taken november 1st when i heard about bad frame welds.
