The brakes totally failed in my 1999 jeep wrangler. the steel brake lines had rusted and the brake petal went to the floor. the vehicle is used in a suburban home environment and i feel that brake lines should not totally fail. we feel we were very lucky this happened in a parking lot not driving on the highway. *tr

1999 jeep wrangler had multiple rear differential failures before 70k miles. *ts *** no answer required*** the original drive train was rebuilt using original mopar parts. the drive train failed for the second time at 69000 mile after only 11000 miles of use. this time the dealer refuses to provide any financial assistance. the vehicle had other failures which include water leaks, drive train seals failure, electrical failures, multiple abs failures, air bag and seat belt problems, and the paint was peeling off the vehicle. *nm

Rotors are warped and corroded. mechanic said also cracked. when applying brake vehicle shakes and steering wheel vibrates. braking distance is not what it should be.*ak

Hen driving on wet and slipery surfaces vehicle will not stop. vehicle will slide, and front wheels will lock up while rear wheels will be still be spinning in circles. dealership is aware of problem.*ak

Abs light keeps coming on while moving. dealer keeps repairing. keeps happening.*ak

Warped rotors caused braking and steering difficulties. one rotor needs replacement and the other one needs to be turned. this problem is listed on the technical service bulletin as disc brake rotor pulsation. the steering wheel would shake so badly during braking it was difficult to steer. dealer states rotors wore out due to wear and tear, but the brakes pads have very little wear on them and do not require replacement. warrenty on brakes was only good to 12k.

Vehicle in question was fitted with an automatic transmission. when brakes were applied, brake pedal went below accelerator pedal. if one was not very careful, the accelerator would also be depressed when applying brakes. after the fact, i remedied the situation by affixing a one and a half inch block of aluminum to the brake pedal. *ak

While driving speedometer jumps up and down from 20 to 80 mph. speedometer harness was replaced 4 times. also, left front brakes locked up and had to be replaced. *ak the consumer belives that this will be an ongoing problem. *yh
