I was awakened by police stating that my horn had been sounding for approximately 30 minutes. i discovered that the driver's side floor compartment and fuse box were soaking wet. i took the car to the dealer who stated water was leaking into the car because the sunroof had a significant gap in the l/r sunroof glass; gap was not caused by damage. the gap was not repairable; the fix was to tape off the outside of the sunroof. this still leaves the possibility that waster can get into the inner fuse box and possibly cause a short or a fire.
Took vehicle in for n46 recall. they stated that there was level 5 corrosion, cannot complete the recall. after reviewing the information and reviewing chryslers detailed work instructions for the fix with pictures of the various levels of corrosion (see page 8 in rcrit-13v252), things didn't make much sense. i called the dealer back and they stated the threads not the frame had level 5 corrosion. further in on page 10-11 it talks about replacing these studs if they are corroded. they offered no remedy for the situation or correction needed to prepare the threaded stud, their instructions say to replace anyway. i'm left with an unsafe vehicle to transport my family in. attached are their detailed instructions as well as a picture of the area in question.

Jeep has been exceedingly slow to follow through on the mandated recall of my vehicle--i waited well over a year for the first notice, another 6 months for the notice to contact my local jeep dealer to have a hitch installed to prevent explosion during rear-end collision,or have my after-market hitch inspected for meeting this requirement.i tried for 2 months to get an appointment for the recall but was delayed repeatedly.i only got the recall inspection performed during the course of having other paid repair work done.my after market hitch passed inspection,so no oem hitch was installed. i mailed in the original receipt for the after-market hitch to jeep as instructed on the recall postcard for reimbursement but received a phone call today stating that jeep will not reimburse me for the aftermarket hitch because it is not an oem part. i then requested to have an oem hitch put on in place of the one i previously had installed but they refuse. this recall process has been mishandled by jeep all around, start to finish, and needs to be better monitored by ntsb or other appropriate government organization responsible for compelling automakers' compliance with recalls. if i had known jeep would approve my after market hitch for recall purposes but not reimburse me, i would have removed my aftermarket hitch to sell and required jeep to install an oem hitch at their expense. it makes no sense to say that jeep's responsibility for the recall is met by the hitch i paid to install, but then refuse to reimburse me, when i could have required them to install an oem hitch at their expense had i removed my hitch prior to inspection. jeep/chrysler is getting away with something they should not. if a hitch satisfies recall requirements and was paid for by the car owner, then it should qualify for reimbursement. deeply wrong for consumers. *tr

Had been in contact with chrysler and local jeep dealer since september 2013 concerning installation of trailer hitch to minimize rear-end collision and potential explosions on my jeep 2007 liberty. in april 2014 had trailer hitch installed by private company then subsequently sent invoice for hitch to chrysler requesting reimbursement for hitch and installation. on friday, may 16, 2014 received call from chrysler representative stating that the hitch installed did not qualify for reimbursement. per representative the hitch had to be an omg vs. the hitch installed by private professionals. very disappointed with chrysler and appears they have no desire to minimize potential dangers in their vehicles even when a purchaser takes the initiative to resolve the issue. *js
