2007 jeep liberty window regulators continually failing. my passenger front window regulator failed 6 months after purchasing the car. the dealer replaced it under warranty. now the drivers window wont roll up normally. it gets crooked in the track when attempting to roll it up. i have to pull the window up with my hand while pressing the button at the same time. the passenger window has gotten slow to roll up again. it can take 30 seconds to roll up and you can here the strain on its motor. i am afraid that this load put on the reg motor will eventually cause a fire since it is put under such a tremendous strain to raise the window. the mechanic that replaced the passenger window reg. said that all jeep liberty window regulators will fail due to bad design. he replaces them all the time (jokingly his partners call him the jeep window man! ) he also stated " you are lucky because alot of window regs that fail cause the window to suddenly drop off the track and fall down into the door and usually shatter. a co-worker of mine had this happen while driving down the freeway. window was up and suddenly dropped down and shattered inside the door scaring him to death. this wide spread complaint by most jeep liberty owners had gone ignored by jeep and they are profiting largely from it. with the average fix costing around $400 per window and most owners are replacing multiple windows, regulators, this is along the same lines as the current toyota recalls going on. all trying to make cheap parts and reap the benefits of increased parts sales. i am afraid to roll down any of my windows and this could be deadly if a fire were to occur. check on the amount of complaints with this issue and you will find enough complaints to force a recall. customers are spending tremendous amounts of money to replace parts that jeep just doesn't want to fix because the profit is to high. please help us!!!!!!! i love jeeps not corporate greed and customer devaluation. thnks *tr

I had to get two window regulators replaced in my 2007 jeep liberty. the jeep has 19,000 miles on it when the first was replaced. another was done at 30,000. i am now at 32,000 and the one the was replaced at 19,000 is bad again. the dealership is quick to replace the regulators, and i've been told directly front he dealership that these are a common problem. my warranty runs out in 3,000 miles and then it will cost me 79 for the part, plus the labor of having it installed everytime one goes bad. the jeep brand should be looking into the issue instead of simply replacing them when they go bad. typically when they stop working, the window will either fall, or get stuck down. it is an inconvenience to keep having to return tot he dealer ever couple of months to keep my windows working properly. *tr

Power windows falling down in our 2007 jeep liberty . we had it repaired once and now the warranty is run out . this cost 300 to 400 dollars to repair that we just don't have . we have the window held up by tape & that is just not safe . this problem is across the country & chrysler knows this . we need help . please research just what a problem this is .... *tr

The two regulators are broken in the two back windows of my 2007 jeep liberty. i had the car about 4 months when the first one broke. the last one broke about 6 months later. also, the driver's side window comes off track and when the dealership i bought it from was open they told me that the new ones they put in does the same thing. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep liberty 4x4. the contact stated she noticed the drivers side window was open without warrant. she was unable to shut the window and took the vehicle to the dealer. the dealer advised the window regulator had failed and would need to be replaced. the repairs were made however, the failure recurred an additional six times at least on each power window in the vehicle. the vehicle had been repaired at least six times for the window regulator. the failure mileage was 11,000 and the current mileage was 47,000. updated 11/16/10. *lj

We bought our 2007 jeep liberty limited in november 2007, in the first 6 months we took it to the dealer to have the windows fixed 3 times as they kept falling off the tracks. first it was the passenger front window, second was the drivers window, and the third time was both rear windows. on all 3 occasions we took the vehicle in for servicing of the windows, the window motors were replaced and the tracks were either cleaned or replaced. i notified jeep of the troubles i was having with the windows regardless of the repairs already done and was advised that there was no recall on such issues as it did not impose a safety threat. on one such incident when one of the rear passenger windows fell off it's track, my 3 month old son was sitting in his car seat next to the window, normally this may not have imposed any safety threat to him except that we happened to be traveling at a time when there was a huge extremely windy monsoon storm in process...i beg to differ that this did not impose a possibly extremely dangerous safety situation for my 3 month old baby as he was pelted by heavy rain and wind until i could reach a destination to get him to safety. jeep needs to take ownership and accountability for their poor workmanship and design of the window structures in jeep liberty and any other jeep vehicles that have this same issue! *tr

I own a 2007 jeep liberty. in feb 2008 my left rear window collapsed into the panel. as it was under warranty it was repaired, or i thought it was. in aug 2009 my right rear window collapsed into the panel, once again it was under warranty and was repaired. in oct 2009 my left rear window collapsed again. now this is an ongoing problem with liberty's and because it is out of warranty now i was told i have to pay for the repairs. it is documented on several consumer advocates reports about this problems. i feel this is a safety issue as if there were children in these vehicles i am afraid of possible injuries. i do not feel it is fair that we the public should have to pay for jeep's recurring problems. i feel a total recall and proper replacement of the regulators and window itself as prescribed by the chrysler engineers. *tr

My 2007 liberty has slow window regulators. they go up and down slowly when in use. it can take 8-10 seconds for them to open or close. i had the passenger side replaced at the dealer under warranty. they said it is typical for them to slow down and even break completely but, they are waiting for a new design to be produced. but now, the passenger side is slow again and the drivers side has started doing it to. when it is cold outside they barely move at all. now after further readings, i guess they will just eventually fall into the doors also like everyone else's. come on chrysler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh yah, my carpets wore out fast to. dealer said it is wear and tear. my dodge, chevy and toyota never did that. *tr

Door windows will fall down into the door unexpectedly. appears to be a failure of the window regulator. a known issue with chrysler. this has happened 3 times in my vehicle. twice in my left rear door and once on the driver door. the driver door window was really scary when it happened at night when it was raining. dealer will not replace the window because it is not under warranty. result is that the windows are unusable and must be secured by tape or some other means to keep them up. *tr

After only a few hundred miles on my new 2007 liberty, the passenger front window failed, due to a faulty regulator, in november 2007. the dealer repaired it under warranty but said it was a common problem with this vehicle. after minimal use, the rear driver window failed for the same reason about 8 months later. i could manually push it up but it would fall after a few minutes of driving. the window may have been up and down a dozen times in total before failing. this is a real safety concern, and it is disgusting that such a broadly acknowledged defect is not being handled responsibly by chrysler. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep liberty 4x4. the contact stated that all four windows had fallen into the door panels. the vehicle had been taken to the dealer several times to have the window regulators repaired but the failure continuously recurred. the manufacturer was aware of the failure but provided no assistance to the contact. the failure mileage was 3,999 and the current mileage was 51,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep liberty. the contact stated that all of the windows on her vehicle failed at least once at different times. the windows fell into the door panel and she was unable to recover them. the vehicle was taken to the dealer regarding each failure and the dealer replaced the window regulator. the rear drivers side window recently failed and the dealer advised her to replace the rear window regulator. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 1,000 and the current mileage was 50,000.

2007 jeep liberty all motors in the windows are faulty. have conducted research in online forums and have concluded that most consumers of 2001-2007 jeep liberty's are having same issues with power window failure. most issues are fixed during warranty, and continue to occur until long after warranty expires. also** the seats on 2003-2007 jeep liberty's are reported as being stain resistant. something within the seat fabric causes the seats to stain with a brownish color after any liquid substance hits them. have ran a test on my own vehicle with filtered tap water and brown stain still continued to appear. addressed daimler chrysler about issue and was told that it was "bad rain in my area". i do not believe that every state in this country has bad rain problems and in any case rain should not cause a stain on the upholstery of a 20,000+ dollar vehicle. i believe that a lawsuit should be filed against daimler chrysler demanding a recall on all seats and power windows with a fix to the solution or should have to reimburse every single customer all the money they have spent over the years trying to fix these re-occurring issues. thank you for your help. sincerely, sgt nathan cossey united states marine corps *tr

Window regulators breaking on my 2007 jeep liberty. *tr

I purchased a jeep liberty in 2007, within a few months of owning the vehicle i had to go to the dealership to get the windows fixed because they would fall down the door and off the track. this has now occurred every 3 months but all different windows in the vehicle. i have asked before why they keep needing to be replaced and i was told by the dealership that the motor for the windows is a cheap plastic part that doesn't hold up well. it has come to the point where i now have to keep pieces od wood in my glove compartment so if the window falls down i can stick the wood in the window and hold the window up. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep liberty 4x4. the contact stated that three of the four window regulators were defective and were replaced by the dealer. the regulators continued to fail and the contact was concerned it could be a trending defect. the regulators were replaced under warranty. the current and failure mileage was 22,000.

Both drivers side and passenger windows are failing. seems the window regulators are faulty. my drivers side won't even stay up which can be very hazardous to my safety and to my belongings in the car. i know of numerous complaints about this and should be corrected by a recall*tr
