I just received a call from jeep that an outstanding recall is still on my vehicle and looking back some months ago, i brought my car into a dealer to have all of the recalls fixed and they said they need to order a part for one of the recalls. i never received a call back stating that the part was ready to be installed. had it not been for this current call from jeep i would have forgotten all about it. i just don't have time to keep bringing this car in and waiting for parts to be installed on it.

I had taken my car into a jeep dealership in july of 2015 to get a recall for the airbags fixed. they told me that they did not have the parts necessary to fix it but that they would contact me when the parts became available. first of all i never heard back from them, i still haven't even to this day but i did receive an official notice for the recall in the mail. on april 3, 2016 i was involved in a head on collision which ended with me in the hospital with severe trauma to my spine and my car totaled. in this accident my airbags failed to deploy even though several sensors were hit in this accident. i'm very lucky that i am still actually alive but i am extremely distraught over the fact that i could have avoided injuries if my airbags had deployed. someone needs to make this right. attached is an image of what my car looked like following the accident.

We keep getting recall notices on the air bags on our jeep. however, every time we take it to the dealer for repair we are told they do not have the parts to fix it. they tell us they will call when parts and solution is available. we have taken notices in to them 3 times and it is still not fixed as they say they do not have parts. are we being played by a dealer who does not want to fix this? or are there really no parts to fix this issue?

Takata recall lewis chrysler/jeep of fayetteville, arkansas returned the jeep to me with no receipt and said the work was done. the jeep was scheduled at 9am on feb.23.. at 12:30pm they called and said it had not been started yet. at 1:30 they called saying it was done. the gave me the key and that was it. i went home and looked at my toyota receipt for a similar recall. it was very detailed. i returned the next morning and asked for a receipt. they gave me one with no details. i showed the toyota receipt and asked for the same information. first they said that chrysler/jeep never gives detailed receipts. after i insisted, 10 minutes passed while they were back in the office. they came out and said the work had not been done because a special part was needed that they did not have. they had sent me home thinking the work had been completed. if i had not returned for the receipt i would have never known the difference. then and only then did the manager apologize and tried to blame the technician for not telling him. it was suspicious from the start, with no receipt issued and going from not even in the garage yet to being done in under an hour.

Takata recall--took vehicle to dealer in regards to airbag recall. was told "parts are unavailable to fix this issue", but it was "safe to drive" as long as the airbag indicator light did not remain on full time. on the way home from the dealer, the indicator did indeed come on & not go off. in researching this online, i see "parts will not be available until late 2016!" i have called chrysler about being unable to drive my vehicle & was basically brushed off. the one person who was trying to help us, had us on hold so long calling around that their system hung up the phone. i can not sit on a car for a year, unable to drive it, having to rely on one vehicle for our family, and not have any recourse or compensation to offset our time & frustration.
I have attempted to submit my 2003 jeep liberty for recall repairs relating to recall n46 and r06 beginning more than a year ago to my two nearest jeep dealerships; tate jeep in frederick and century jeep in mt. airy, maryland. when i inquire that i have received notices by mail instructing for recall repairs i am being ignored for service. century jeep placed me on a call-back list, but i was never contacted. when i called after 4-5 months i was told i am still on the waiting list. a year has gone by with no further contact. when i inquired of tate jeep about recall repairs they will not respond back to me. i fought with century jeep for about a year to have my airbag recall addressed. frankly, i am tired of begging and pleading with my local jeep dealerships to have recall work performed. i have been afraid every day i drive my liberty of having the air bag explode in my face or my gas tank exploding from a rear end collision. can you help prompt my dealerships to address these outstanding recalls. i continue to receive recall notices on a periodic basis informing me that my recalls have not been repaired, but the dealerships refuse to do anything. century jeep tells me that they do not have the recall repair parts in stock. they tell me that they only get a couple each month from chrysler. how much longer do i have to drive this death trap? i appreciate any help you can provide me. thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
