The jeep randomly won't start and brake pedal is firm this stranded me 6 times and dealer can't figure out because nothing displays and then it works i have heard sensors and brake boosters but neither are on recalls
Tl* the contact's wife owns a 2014 jeep grand cherokee. the vehicle failed to stop when the brake pedal was depressed. the vehicle brake pedal traveled all the way down to the floor no consequence. the vehicle eventually stopped the contact's wife was traveling approximately 25 mph, when attempted to stop, the brake pedal traveled all the way down to the floor. no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
When reversing, active stop randomly applies full brake pressure without detecting an obstacle and brings the vehicle to a hault.
After going through an auto car wash the brakes failed and the car rolled into a pole while pulling up to a vacuum station about 50 yards from the exit. i believe the abs system notified the car that it was in a slide because the rear wheels continue to rotate while the front wheels are not rotating while being pulled through the car wash tracks. therefore tricking the system into thinking it should not brake when brakes were applied.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 jeep grand cherokee. while driving 50 mph on the highway, the vehicle failed to respond when the brake pedal was depressed. dwayne lane's chrysler jeep dodge ram (10515 evergreen way, everett, wa 98204) was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 123,000.
After a few minutes when the car is parked and stationary on an incline in our driveway, it will roll about 3-4 feet and then stop on its own, all while vehicle is in park. this does not happen every time it is parked on an incline, seems to happen randomly.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v572000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic), which had been revised. alberic chrysler dodge jeep (ave. kennedy km 2.5 san juan, pr 00936-8320) stated that they would only replace the water shield per the recall and not the actual brake booster. the contact then spoke with flagship chrysler dodge jeep ram (carr. #2, km 14.7, hato tejas, bayamn, 00959, puerto rico, +1 787-301-0408) and was informed that they would have to inspect the vehicle to determine the remedy for the recall. the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake booster was corroded. the manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. the recall repair had not been performed. the failure mileage was 60,000.
I was slowly backing into a driveway when the jeep grand cherokee suddenly accelerated on its own. i repeatedly hit the brake pedal but the jeep wouldn't stop; instead it kept going faster. it smashed into the garage door and the brick wall of the garage, demolishing them. the jeep was brand new with only 500 miles driven, and it was equipped with a complete safety package that should have automatically stopped it before an impending impact but it did not do so. this was an extremely terrifying experience and it felt like a nightmare.
Electrical stops working, software malfunctions of computer. shuts off or shows service for 911 phone. power steering doesn't work and brakes are hard and flutter.
While slowing down to make sharp turns the vehicle will spontaneously shut off causing the power steering and breaking to not work. there are no error codes that come up and the radio and air/heat continue to work. the only reason you know the car shut off is because the breaks and power steering won't work. this has happened multiple times but you can never recreate the problem on cue. it just happens randomly without warning. this has happened both coming off the highway ramp around a turn and on a normal back road street going around a turn. the last time this happened was 11-13-2019
