My grand cherokee has stalled several dozen times over the past few years and the dealer can't fix it. the car stalls when slowing to a stop or turning through an intersection but we can't duplicate the problem at the service center. the dealer kept the car for nearly a month trying to duplicate the problem but could not, but i have kept records over the past year of all stalls and the conditions and the only condition that remains constant is that i am quickly braking from 40 mph or faster or i am braking while turning. initially it only occurred while turning left, but now it occurs while turning right and while braking quickly while going straight. i have been in several near misses due to losing power steering and brakes and i am to the point to where i can't allow anyone but me to drive the car due to the safety factor. twice i almost hit a car while turning and once a big rig almost hit me in the side as the car stalled mid-intersection of a six lane highway. the car is still under chrysler's ...
With my foot completely off the accelerator, the vehicle spontaneously accelerates under certain conditions. while in standard or sport mode, in second gear going about 20mph, there is a reproducible rpm surge that causes the vehicle to lunge forward. this somewhat feels like being rear ended.
When using the rear park assist, with my foot completely off the accelerator, the vehicle has spontaneously accelerated while going in reverse, requiring me to hard break to avoid collision. this has happened multiple times.
Loss of power.... electronic throttle sensor. again second time lost power in my vehicle on highway 299 in shasta county headed home to trinity county ca . again i had no cell service. this time i had my 9 year old daughter with me our dog and a vehicle full of groceries. now i am scared of this vehicle. scared to drive it. i have called manufacturer they have done nothing but close all my claims and cases. denied my arbitriation. wont appeal even though i have powertrain warranty of 100k miles. this vehicle is not safe! they wouldn't even give me a comparable vehicle. dealership again told me they don't know what is causing this and they can't fix it.
Arrived home 10:15pm dry roads and weather. backing jeep into driveway and went to full throttle back to hit the garage structure and door. shifted two drive to move out into the driveway and went to full throttle forward, across the street, through the swale into a vacant lot and hit the avista power transformer box knocking its off the base and pulling the 7,000 volt power cables out. jeep then stopped and i backed it back into the driveway and stopped. avista crew arrived and safed the transformer. resulting damage was $3,007 to house and garage door, $16,275 damage to front/back/undercarriage on jeep and about $4,880 to replace the avista transformer. car rental now 60 days at $42.00 per day. estimated total is now $26,682.

I was slowly backing into a driveway when the jeep grand cherokee suddenly accelerated on its own. i repeatedly hit the brake pedal but the jeep wouldn't stop; instead it kept going faster. it smashed into the garage door and the brick wall of the garage, demolishing them. the jeep was brand new with only 500 miles driven, and it was equipped with a complete safety package that should have automatically stopped it before an impending impact but it did not do so. this was an extremely terrifying experience and it felt like a nightmare.
I was easing our 2015 jeep grand cherokee into a parking spot at a trail head parking lot with my foot on the brake pedal. i fully engaged the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, and the vehicle accelerated at full throttle over the top of a 2.5 ft by 2.5 ft cement block parking barrier. it dragged the cement block about 20-25 ft. i continued to press the brake and after about 40 ft, the vehicle came to a stop. i immediately turned the vehicle off. it was terrifying not to be in control of the vehicle. fortunately, no one was injured. damage to the vehicle is yet to be determined, but even if it is repaired, there is no way i would feel comfortable driving it again. this vehicle should be totaled and not resold to anyone else. i have been a loyal jeep owner for over 20 years, but i am not sure i would purchase another one, especially now that i have researched the issue and realize that this is a rare but reoccurring problem with the jeep grand cherokee for 20+ years.
The engine light seems to stay on and the tire light keeps blinking off and on i bought this vehicle 10 25 2019
