Forward collision warning system with brake mitigation continues to engage intermittently on its own. this is not to be taken lightly. the forward collision warning with brake mitigation engages intermittently, out of the blue, when there is no need. meaning; i'll be driving along . . . no cars or objects in front of me, and all of a sudden the system slams on the brakes, jerks very abruptly, audible bells go off and the screen illuminates brake brake brake! there have been 3 instances in which my family and i have nearly been rear-ended due to this erratic behavior that the vehicle is demonstrating. i've been in a comparably equipped loaner car for the past five weeks and it has not demonstrated this type of inconsistent, erratic behavior. this vehicle is unsafe to drive, be in or around. the jeep was purchased on july 9, 2016. i have taken the vehicle into the service department 4 times since july 21, 2016. after examination of damage, electric tech review and 2 test drives (32 miles and 100 miles) the response i get is, "the system is working as designed." the vehicle has been in service 51 of the 103 days of ownership, 49.5%. the selling/servicing dealer and manufacturer has been extremely negligent in providing transparency to any similar issues to mine. quite frankly, they haven't communicated much of anything to me. the last time the service advisor reached out to me, via text, was on september 23, 2016. my customer experience has been awful. i do not feel safe in an fca vehicle, nor do i respect any of their corporate or dealer network associates. this is the worst consumer experience of my life. unbelievable that my safety is not a concern to fca or the selling/servicing dealer. if it were, i would have been provided a full refunded and free to go elsewhere make a purchase with a manufacturer that i trust and appreciates me, the customer. *tr
