I entered my vehicle after it was it was stationary for approximately 10 hours to find the passenger side headrest assembly had deployed on its own without any external collision for force to the headrest assembly
Inadvertent deployment of "active headrest" on driver's seat with no accident. headrest spontaneously burst open. vehicle was stationary and gear shifter was in park in my driveway with the engine running.
Ahr headrest deployed while driving.
I have a acc / fcw unavailable message that deactivates my auto breaking system to prevent a collision. this error message may relate to the orc module that may control other safety devices in the vehicle such as the air bags. this deactivation occurs while the vehicle is in motion city street and on the highway.
I got inside my jeep which was parked in mt garage, in the afternoon to go to work and noticed that the driver side head restraint had deployed, i do not know why, when i had came from work the previous night and got out the jeep it was fine. i looked in the owners manual and it described how to reset it. this did not work, i called the dealer (dayton andrews of saint petersburg, fl.) and they said that it was a know problem and is not covered under the warranty. they want over $800 to replace it,
Yesterday out of nowhere my passenger headrest deployed, i wasn't in an accident i was just parked and the headrest just popped out of place. i call the dealer and they told me is over $600 of repair. i don't understand why i should pay the repair when it is a vehicle malfunction.
On 9/6/19 while traveling at a low rate of speed on a four lane road the driver's side headrest "exploded" propelling the front half of the headrest violently forward. this caused a hard hit to the back of my head that left me stunned. i was unsure of what happened until i was stopped at a light and could see that it had split forcing the front half into my head. if i had been traveling at a higher rate of speed or merging onto the nearby interstate that was my destination, this impact likely would have caused me to have an accident. the hit was so forceful that i am concerned it may have done some damage to my neck, so i may have to seek medical care. once i got home i did a google search and found many reports and lawsuits regarding this defect in the active head restraint headrest on chrysler/ jeep products. i am the original owner of this vehicle and it has never been in an accident. surely this issue merits a recall.
While driving, the drivers side head rest was activated causing the active head restrain to be deployed.
While vehicle was stationary, parked in driveway, passenger seat active headrest failed into an open position. as stated by others, and verified by dealer, plastic retaining clips failed and caused an unnecessary release. this is a severe safety issue that needs to be addressed. the drivers side head rest could fail at any moment, potentially causing an accident that results in serious injury or death.
The active headrest deployed while pulling out of a parking garage for no reason.
I would like to address this issue to jeep about my passenger headrest deploying without any cause while my car was in park for more than 6 hours... after reading more than several threads and concerns from other jeep owners and it also happening to them and the outrageous cost to repair a single headrest including labor is beyond me. i feel cheated out. this repair is almost a 800.00 repair ... why has jeep not made this very repetitive issue a recall? i feel jeep should be responsible for the diag and also the repair for my jeep. i know i am not the only one that has had this issue and has felt the same. i am asking for someone to handle this in a fair manner. being a single parent and not being able to fork money like i am a bank has made this tremendously frustrating.
Active headrest collision system randomly deployed while i was driving. appears to have some kind of retaining mechanism failure as i cannot clip it back in. many others appear to have had this issue as reported across internet forums and still no recall.
Airbag light came on at 106,000 mi. was told it was an issues with the wiring in the head restraint. would need to have head rest replaced for $700. i don't believe there is any reason this should have failed as the car has never been in an accident
The headrest of the drivers seat deployed while i was driving. i was driving on a highway with cruise control and and the vehicle was at a steady speed with no sudden jolts or stops. i heard a very loud pop and the headrest hit me in the back of the head. the incident startled me and caused me to hit my breaks.
The 'service airbag system' display and airbag light comes on and off. i had it repaired but the dealer said it's not covered under the 'safety warranty' . i think it should be.
