Chrysler recalls p14 & p36 have been in effect since may and august of this year respectfully. to date i am unable to obtain parts for either recall from chrysler. p14 deals with eroding booster pump enclosures and they continually tell me they cannot get parts. 7 months has elapsed since notification and no remedy in site. *tr

Received recall notice concerning brake booster. took car in and was told they could not replace the part as there is a back log of over 250 cars needing repairs and there is a shortage of parts. this is not acceptable. there is a safety recall and owners cannot get it repaired for up to 4 months. advised family if i am injured or killed in accident to sue jeep/chrysler!!! *tr

2013 jeep grand cherokee was at banking drive through when it accelerated suddenly. breaks would not stop the car as it accelerated and traveled approximately 500 feet across three lanes of traffic. finally came to a stop when it was pushed into neutral. dealer towed and service department ran test for codes. none were found. service test drove the car for several miles and determined that vehicle was performing as designed. chrysler sent an independent investigator and they determined no codes and vehicle performing as designed. just be aware that something happened. car accelerated and brakes would not work. *tr

Recall p14/nhtsa 14v-154 made appointment with my jeep dealer, premier cape cod in hyannis, ma (508) 815-5000 many months ago when i received the recall notice in the mail. i have called the dealer every two or three weeks since only to be told that it will be two more weeks. two weeks never seems to come and i am concerned about my safety driving this vehicle. *tr

There are now four separate recalls on this vehicle dating back to 2014 and chrysler jeep has refused to address any of these claiming they do not have the parts. my daughter, who is a full time student in pa, has been to several dealerships (brenner chrysler dodge jeep, manahawkin chrysler dodge jeep, 'blaise alexander chrysler dodge jeep) and placed on a wait list however none of these have ever cleared for any of the recalls chrysler jeep has taken no responsibility to address these recalls in any manner and have inconvenienced a college student let alone put her at unnecessary safety risk. these recalls need to be fixed. she will be in nj from may-august. *tr

I received a recall approx. 4 months ago regarding the brakes. i attempted to make an appt. with somerset chrysler because they are closer to my home than where i purchased jeep. they said they had to order the part and would call me when it came in. when i didn't receive a call 2 1/2 months later, i called them and was told the replacement was also recalled and they had to order again. it is another 6 weeks and i have not received a call and have now received another recall for the visor. i thought we could go to any chrysler dealer but i guess this dealer did not get that memo because they are ignoring my attempts to get this repaired. i hope nothing happens before they decide to get onboard and fix this. *tr

During the year (2014), i have received two separate safety recall notices from chrysler. when i received the first recall notice (p14/nhtsa 14v-154 brake booster), i called my local dealer (carson dodge/jeep) and was told by the service manager that they did not yet have the parts to perform the safety recall, so it did not make sense to perform the inspection. the service manager said they would "put me on the list" and would call me when the parts were available. several months later, i got the second safety recall (p36/nhtsa 14v-391 sun visor wiring). i called carson dodge/jeep again. they still did not have the parts for the brake booster recall and it "didn't make sense to bring my jeep in to them until they could perform the inspection for both safety recalls". the service manager said they would "put me on the list" and would call me when the parts were available. it is now the end of the year, carson dodge/jeep has not called me to perform either of the safety recall inspections and i feel like i'm getting jerked around. as these safety recall notices from chrysler are not dated, i cannot be sure of the exact month/date they were received. as important as these documents are, they should be dated. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond causing the contact to crash into another vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. a police report was filed and no injuries were sustained. an independent mechanic repaired the vehicle but the repairs were unknown. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 20,000. updated 10/03/14*lj updated 05/12/2015 *js

This is the 6+ time this has happened but this was the worst time, yet. while traveling on the highway @60-70mph, i stepped on the brake pedal and it was frozen solid ... would not move an inch ... i had no brakes. i took my foot of the brake, reapplied pressure to the brake pedal and still nothing. i tried applying pressure a third time and my brakes worked. i took the car to the dealer where i bought it and they said they cannot find a problem. i called jeep and they said to talk to the dealer again. *tr

I was driving home from a ski weekend in upstate ny in january and traveling on the interstate at approximately 65mph, the temperature outside was below freezing and i went to apply the brakes to slow down for upcoming traffic and the pedal was hard and the brakes did not engage, i pumped the pedal and remained calm and hoped that the power would come back to the pedal and luckily it did after a 3 pumps to the pedal and took about 5 seconds. we avoided a near fatal collision if it wasn't for my quick thinking and remaining calm. i brought the car into westbury jeep who told me nothing was wrong with the brakes and returned the car to me, i then continued to have the problem reoccur on cold days when the temperature was below freezing. the dealership did nothing and now a recall was issued for the exact issue i described and the dealership still refuses to repair it because they don't have the part. i want the repair done asap! *tr

The engine and all systems stop; turn off without notice. actually not a stall, but all power ceases to work abruptly. the car then must be stopped fully to allow a restart. without power steering or brakes the car is immediately subject to a rear end collision. it has always occurred at speeds around 15 to 20 mph, and normally when slowing. jeep dealers have been unable to fix the problem and, of course i cannot duplicate for them as it occurs without notice periodically. jeep recently, finally issued a recall for a fix but the problem continues even after their "fix". the car does have an aftermarket supplemental braking system to allow towing by an rv. that has been disconnected as a possible cause, but the stalls have continued. i can't drive the car nor will i allow my family to do so.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated while driving 60 mph with the cruise control activated and the brakes engaged independently. the contact applied the brake pedal to disengage the cruise control and the vehicle began to operate normally. the vehicle was taken was taken to an authorized dealer for a diagnosis. the technician was unable to detect a trouble code. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 6,500.

While parking in a parking lot with my foot on the brake pedal, the engine rpm's surged and i had to apply extremely hard force on the brake pedal and shift into neutral to stop after traveling 10 to 15 feet. this happened again and i took the jeep to yark service in toledo oh. they ran a diagnosis and could not find any codes. my wife took the jeep and while parking had the same problem. before she could stop the vehicle ran into a post and sustained damage. i called jeep customer service and reported it as a safety problem on aug 31. i was told to take it back to the service dept. they said nothing could be done at that time. i took it back the next week and the service manager was not available. *tr

Lost all power while driving on highway on friday of memorial day weekend. lost brakes and steering too. luckily was able to coast to a stop on the shoulder. tried to restart multiple times, and starter just whirred over and over and over. i couldn't even do anything to stop it from attempting to start. it would ultimately give up. roadside assistance sent a tow. the next day at the dealership it started, but it's still there for the long holiday weekend. luckily i wasn't towing my travel trailer. i'm afraid to drive it as i've read of many instances similar to this recurring many times. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph down hill and approaching a traffic light, the contact attempted to avoid a crash with another vehicle and depressed the brake pedal. the contact stated that the brakes failed to respond and crashed into a fence. a police report was filed. the passenger sustained injuries to the neck that did not require medical attention. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the vin was not available. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

I received a letter stating that the brake booster on my jeep may prematurely corrode. i called the dealer where i purchased the jeep--bob poynter chrysler dodge jeep hyundai--and they told me to bring it in and they would get it fixed. i was told they checked the booster and it was o.k., but they wanted to change it anyways. they told me they would call when the parts came in. the service dept. didn't call, so 3 weeks later, i called them and asked about it. i was told the service dept. could only order 1 at a time and i would be put on a list. i received another recall letter and called the service dept. about it 3 weeks later and asked about the parts for the brake booster. i was told the ones that had been replaced were recalled and now they're even further behind and would call when the parts came in-again. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 jeep grand cherokee limited. the contact stated that while making a right turn the steering failed and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. this caused the contact to have a head on collision with a tree. the contact received chest injuries from the air bag deploying and an injury to the shoulder. the vehicle was towed from the scene of the accident and was scheduled to be inspected. the failure and current mileages were 2,600. *tr

I was backing my jeep grand cherokee 2013 with 2410 miles down my driveway slight slant in reverse and the jeep wouldn't stop when i applied the brakes. scary as heck. i pumped the brakes and pressed as hard as i could but it seemed the jeep just kept running and moving ignoring the brakes i was pushing. finally 60 feet later after pumping hard the car stopped in the middle of the street. i could have have killed someone or been injured my self. for a few seconds there in reverse i had no control of my jeep. scary. the jeep ignored the brake pedal and kept going. *tr

On march 18, 2013 i was in my parking garage at the hospital i work at and i was only going about 1mph when i went to press the brakes it wouldn't stop at all i ran right into the gate that opens the exit for me to get out and damage my front end, i took my truck to the dealership and they told me it needed a new vacuum pump and they kept it 11 days to repair the damage. i barley had my car a month and on april 24, 2013 they same accident happen i tried to brake leaving work and it was no pressure at all it wouldn't stop i ran right into the pole and my whole front bumper was damaged once again. my truck is currently at the dealership now and they claim nothing is wrong with the brakes and i am responsible for the damages for the car. something is wrong with this truck brakes and i need someone to really look into this. *tr

I have had this issue occur a few times on the highway. the speeds are generally between 40-60 mph. when i put my foot on the brake, it is as though it is locked or frozen. each time it has begun to work after a few times releasing my foot from the brake, but it is worrisome. i became more worried when i noticed that a couple of other people have reported the same issue. it certainly does not happen all the time, but that it happens at all is concerning when we are talking about braking at highway speed. *tr

On 4 separate times i attempted to slow the vehicle on the highway, applied the brake pedal and the pedal was locked/frozen. i brought the vehicle to the dealer i bought it from, they didn't find a problem gave me the car back. i called jeep they told me to bring it to another dealer, i did. i left the car there 10 days they told me they could not replicate the problem so there was nothing they could do or jeep/chrysler could do. i drove the car home from the dealer and the exact problem happened 20 minutes after leaving there. i will not drive this car anymore.. the braking system is defective. i had two other people test drive the car and they experienced the same issue. *tr
