The abs controller failed. there are complaints all over the internet about people having the same issue. i believe it was burned out by the faulty ignition switch which powers it. the switch is already under recall.
For several months my vehicle has been shutting off while i am driving due to the key fob popping out of place. i went to the dealer in january 2015 and was told the part is not ready and to call for an update. i have called and been back several times only to be placed on a waiting list. i have been contacting them and getting the same response the part is not available. on 9/16/2015 while operating the vehicle i noticed the navigation/radio console start to pixilate and become inoperable then the console blacked out, after that the entire dash board lit up and i received several system warnings (service gauges, park assist disabled, check sensors, service suspension, my engine light and wipers came on, i was unable to signal, use my lights or turn off the wipers) all of this happened while i was driving. i made a right turn into the parking lot out of fear at this time i heard the key fob pop back and the car completely powered down and i was unable to break because the brakes locked up. the parking lot was semi-empty so i was able to maneuver until is rolled to a stop. i thought i was going to die. i need a resolution now, i still have two years worth of payments left and i want this problem resolved.

I was driving my 2008 jeep grand cherokee & was going about 15-20mph when suddenly my car turned off. no warning, no sputtering, no symbols flashing on the dash, nothing. it just simply died. i only realized my car was completely off when i happened to look at my dashboard and the gas gage was on e and the speedometer and mileage were not on. i tried my hardest to steer and luckily i was able to pull into a parking lot. i opened the hood and checked the battery cables and they were fine. the truck started up again but this incident scared me to death. i had just gotten off the highway when this happened and i am a mom of 3. i called my local jeep dealer the next day. the service guy told me to remove some of my keys from my key holder and in his words "this is a band-aid fix for now, there is a recall for ignition problems but it won't be rolling out until september". what?? this is unacceptable. it should be fixed now.
Ignition switch still has not been replaced

I get routine maintenance on my vehicle and it is in excellent condition. i was heading off to work and it would not start whatsoever. no clicking, no noise; nothing happened. i took it to a dealership where it was there for a week, and i was told it was due to the ignition recall from chrysler. i have been going back and forth with chrysler as to when i can get info on the part. i get no response from them. i have wasted so much time and vacation days to get this taken care of. i get nothing. i have to pay upfront for my rental car which chrysler tells me i can then apply for a reimbursement that takes 60 days to get back if approved. i am making payments on a dead car that has no solution to it. in the meantime, the dealership is telling me that it is not their problem and i have to deal with chrysler directly. i am stuck and out of options i just don't know what to do. it is very frustrating and chrysler doesn't even care about the fact that i fully trusted them in the first place by making this purchase for my family's main transportation. please if there is anything i can do to further discuss my situation to get a better response from chrysler please let me know. i will never buy another chryler jeep vehicle in my lifetime.
