Car has been repeatedly stalling when going into a turn or coming to a stop. low oil pressure light will flash at times while driving. stalls and low oil pressure warning flash sometimes occur at the same time, sometimes do not. car recently stalled while going 35mph on a highway. requires stopping car, putting into park, and then restarting, which takes 10-15 seconds for starter to get engine to turn over. when at idle in park, throttle does not respond to gas pedal.
While driving on freeway this morning the vehicle drivetrain disengage and was not able to accelerate with warning message showing place car in park - select mode - something to that affect - this the second time this has happened- first time on freeway- thank goodness traffic was next to none i think this is very serious!!!!!
I have my 2018 jeep compass for literally 10 months now not even a year. bought the car in april of 2019 and it is now january 2020. i've taken my car approximately 2 times to the shop for routine maintenance. any time i put the car in reverse it jerks as if something underneath the car is about to fall out. when placed in drive it goes into some sort of limp mode where it does not want to go this has happened to me about 3 times now. twice in traffic! where i'm stalled out on the highway waving for people to go around. an absolute nightmare. as of last night i was parked at a grocery store about to pull off when the car jerked and shut off again. when i tried to turn the car back on the dash light started to go hay wire and the engine light popped on with the transmission light dinging red that the transmission needs servicing when i put the car in drive again it went no where.this is a huge burden in my life right now this is my only transportation to get my children and i back ...
My 2019 jeep compass has had numerous safety concerns, especially related to the engine and the push-to-start feature. most recently, i have been in (d) drive, both stationary (i.e at a red light) or in motion (i.e highway, main road, side street, rotary) and both on a city street and highway when the vehicle's dashboard alerts me to shift the car into the (p) park gear. i can feel the car start to decelerate when it send this message. first, i shift the car into the desired gear (p), then brake locks itself so that i am unable to use to push-to-start feature and place the car back into drive. this has happened to me 4x/more. i have had my car in the service center at the dealership twice for the issue and they are unable to find the actual problem. it seems to me that it is the engine/push-to-start feature. in 2017 i had a defective battery and the car acted very similar, so i am thinking it may be the battery again. i filed a claim/case with jeep today. i am awaiting proper documentation from the service center in terms of invoices. my life is at risk due ...
I was driving going about 45 when my jeep out of nowhere stopped and wouldn't go fast then 20mph. so then i got a code reader and it said it was the powertrain. which makes then engine not want to go.
The car stopped in the middle of freeway, i was lucky no one was behind me, so far three times it happened. every time when it happened i was driving the car. the way it happens first my speed will reduced even though i was pushing the gas, and suddenly stops.
While driving the tachometer and the digital and analog speedometers went to zero. and the d for drive was flashing in the dash as well as at the shifter along with the parking brake light flashing also.when i pulled over and put it in park it shut itself off and would not immediately restart. this is a few months after taking to the dealer for the transmission not shifting and codes flashing. i have attached a photo taken at about 20 mph of the tachometer and speedometers
On 12/12/2019 at approximately 8:30pm i was driving eastbound i-80 in utah traveling about 65mph. at mile marker 130 at the entrance to parleys canyon as i tried to accelerate my vehicle stalled, loosing power. i was able to move to the shoulder of the road but nearly rearended and several semi's needed to do quick manuevers to avoid colliding with me. there were no warnings and it was sudden power loss not previously experienced. the vehicle restarted buy i experience a similar lack of power/acceleration. i do not feel this is safe to drive and i have towed it to a jeep dealer.
2 times the same incident occurred 6 months apart, once in june 2019 mileage 22046 and once in december 2019 mileage 28423. bought the car brand new in 2017. oil is dissappearing!! the oil pressure low light will flash on - there is a loss of power - while driving - no warning! then the light will go off. drive to oil change business to have them check the oil level and the jeep will be 3 to 3.5 quarts low. no leak present or oil seen. engine seems to slip while driving before this happens.
2013 jeep compass latitude. cvt trans heard up and stops all power. have to pull over and let cool and repeat process every 10 miles or so
