Problems with 2014 Jeep Compass VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

This car i bought on 9-/14/2019 had an open recall on it for a catalytic converter and was told it was completed. i now find out it is not and the car will not ho over 20mph. i have an appt with the dealer who is over 30 miles via interstate and it has to be towed i dont have tow insurance and it will cost over200 to get it there will i be reimbursed.

While driving on the interstate at 70 miles per hour my jeep compass loss power. the engine light, etc light esc light all came on as i was driving. this in turn immediately dropped my speed down to 20 miles per hour.

2014 jeep compass sport lost power while driving on the highway this vehicle went from going 65-70 miles per hour to barely being able to get up to speed of 30mph that is with pressing accelerator all the way to the floor. once exiting off of the highway the vehicle continued to lose power when pressing accelerator pedal all the way to the floor. the vehicle will start, but barley has any power to drive. this is very life threatening and dangerous! this problem has been noted and should have been recalled way before now. i have seen reviews about this happening to other jeep compass owners. please fix asap! before lives are taken..

Vehicle has issues accelerating sputters and jerks between 25 and 45 miles per hour. had a mechanic check this issue and says it has something to do with a defective or damaged transmission. vehicle has less than 100,000 miles and was just recently purchased from a dealer and had a good rating. vehicle had this problem since purchase and has begun to get worse. this issue only happens when shifting from 2 nd to 3 rd.

Driving when i lost power, even pushing on the gas... the car slowed to under 20mph. a few lights came up on dash (check engine, traction control, lightning bolt) engine stuttered and cars were swerving to go around me because i had no power no matter how much i pushed on the gas. this is the second time this happened to me, i was on the highway.

2014 jeep compass lost sudden speed on interstate. couldn't accelerate over 20mph. 4x4, 'lightening bolt' , traction control and engine lights all on. extremely dangerous when traveling in high speed traffic. was almost hit by a transfer truck.

Etc lights comes in and the car the looses power. it goes limp and wants to stall. it loses control over the throttle.

When going over 30mph or uphill my transmission starts sputtering. i cannot accelerate. frequently happens when on highways. there is a sudden shift almost like im switching gears. rpm shoots up but car will not gain speed. headlights will get very dim, inside lights will flicker. when starting the engine its like it almost doesnt want to start. front window motors work when they please

Upon driving on a busy highway, my car came to a sudden stop causing traffic to shutter around me and my now 60mph car jerked to a 20mph speed. this was unsafe and now the car will not move above 20mph. thousands of people are mentioning this online and someone needs to take note!

Car shudders when slowing down and seems to want shut off when driving a this happens when the vehicle is in motion in the highway and rush hour time. i took it to the dealer they said i need an electronic throttle body and gasket. the next day after they accessed my i received a red lightening bolt signal and the car stalled then it started back up with a jerking and shuddering in the street. i was able to cruise into my jobs parking lot at this moment the car us still there i have contacted chrysler and they have opened a case number but have to get back to me on their assessment. so i'm out of car to get to work my boss after working 12 hours offered to take me home now i have to get an uber or lyft to and from work

Cruise control did not disengage in a dangerous situation. cruise control was on going down i-20 interstate near shrevport louisana,,, coming around a curve i noticed all traffic had stopped,both lanes due to some type construction and as i tried to brake,,,the cruise control would not disengage with my emergency braking ,,,i had to go into the side ditch and finally put the transmission in neutral to stop ! extremely dangerous in which myself and wife could have been easily killed.! later,on checking the internet to see if this was a condition other jeep compass owners had had,,,,i found 'recalls' on other jeep products ' notifying other jeep owners of jeep cherokee, jeep grand cherokee, and jeep wranglers' specifically with problems of jeep cruise controls not disengaging' ,,,,but no recalls on jeep compass',,,, which i had just had that same extremely dangerous situation happen ! ( i was going highway speed at 70 mph when i hit my brakes trying to stop in an emergency situation and i could not overcome the stuck cruise control to stop and had to take evasive action leaving the highway to the ditch at 70 mph and still wouldn't stop till i placed the auto in neutral and allowed me to stop )

Car does not want to go over 20 can push on the gas and will not go faster

April 15, 2018 vehicle only has 58k miles on it and is still under powertrain warranty. pulled out onto highway in busy traffic and vehicle shuddered and lost power. i was unable to accelerate over 20mph. oncoming car narrowly missed hitting me. lightning bolt, check engine light, and abs warning lights all flashed on drivers panel. brought car to dealer to be inspected and diagnosis codes are that i need a new throttle body converter. vehicle doesn't even have 60k miles on it and the engine is still under warranty, however, dealer says warranty does not cover throttle body. :/ very dangerous problem that i've discovered a lot of other people are having problems with. :/ looks like jeep made a faulty part that can result in a serious accident if someone loses power at the wrong time.

While getting off of pm shift, around 2330, i was driving and all of a sudden my car began to slow down only 3 miles into driving. i could not accelerate more than 15 miles an hour in a 40mph zone. the lightning bolt for electronic throttle control was flashing, then stopped, then my check engine and my anti skid(?) was lit up. i pulled over to a side street, put in park only to have my engine idle at 2k rpm. thank goodness i had my phone and a friend with some car knowledge. told me to leave in park and restart my car. turned on and once i shifted out of park it happened again. he stayed on the phone with me for the rest of my drive home that took me 45min because of not being able to accelerate any faster than 15. a drive that usually would take me 15 minutes took much longer. glad my kids weren't in the car because i almost got hit 2x by 18 wheelers coming off of the highway. not to mention it was only 27 degrees out (without the chicago wind chill)and would have had to wait probably 30+ minutes for a tow or ride to pick me up had it not restarted. beyond livid that there are numerous complaints about the same thing and nothing being done. going to have to pay out of pocket for this fix, right before christmas, awesome!

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep compass. while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact stated that the vehicle decelerated from 60 mph to 5 mph in the middle of an interstate. the contact was able to exit the interstate onto a smaller road where the vehicle was towed. chrysler, jeep west valley in reseda, california diagnosed that the throttle body control was faulty and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the vehicle was out of the mileage warranty coverage of 30,000. the manufacturer stated that nothing could be done. the failure mileage was approximately 53,900.

Last year i had to pay for a new throttle and now my airbag sensor light will not go out on a city street.

3rd times a charm 2014 jeep compass the first time it happened to me in july or aug (4 months after i got the car) and i thought it was my fault, while parking and hitting the brake my car accelerated out of nowhere. i thought i had hit the accelerator by mistake. thank god there was a cement thing on the floor 2nd time: my sister and i around the holidays, we were in my jeep compass, also parking at the local mall this is where i knew it wasn't me but again there was a cement barricade and prevent anything bad from happening, so i thought it was a fluke now today again this happened while parking and stepping on the break out of nowhere my car accelerated this time nothing on the floor and ran into a post. bam!! my cars hood is all messed-up and so is the bumper!! has anyone else had this issue with the accelerator? idk what to do!!!! *tr

Squeaky brakes and acceleration problems. when i have a need for speed, the car down shifts and then accelerates is the best description i can give. *tr
