Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated that his knee would continuously contact the ignition key entry, which was located on the dashboard, and causing the vehicle to completely shut off without intent. the dealer advised him to call the manufacturer and the manufacturer advised him to take the vehicle to the local dealer to determine whether or not the wiring was loose. the vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed for the failure. the current mileage was 43,270 and the failure mileage was 43,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while the vehicle was parked with the engine running, the contact's knee struck the key and the vehicle shut off. the vehicle was able to restart. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000. updated 4/13/15*cn updated 04/16/15*jb

The engine has stalled on many occasions while driving on highway and other roads. this has occurred probably 20-30 times over the passed couple of years. occasionally it will stall for a few seconds and then kick back in, but more often i will have to let the vehicle slow down and coast to a stop in the breakdown lane if there is one. i then put on the flashers, put it in park, turn off the key, wait a few seconds and start the vehicle. this may not happen again for several months or it may happen the next day. this is extremely dangerous and scares my wife and myself half to death. this past weekend while in the passing lane this occurred on the interstate with lots of traffic and we were lucky that it did not result in an accident. researching online i have found that this is not uncommon with the jeep commander. there was a recall for this exact problem. (power train control module software) nhtsa campaign id # 08v203000, nhtsa action # ea07007. i called chrysler and was basically told that our vin# is not in the recall and they will not help. this is my wife's car but i usually do the driving. *tr

Vehicle was leaving a stop sign entering a feeder road with 50 mph speed limit. upon accelerating, the vehicle lunged, and died. it restarted and was driven to it's original destination. we called chrysler after she returned home and they told us to take it to a dealership for a diagnostics. dealership says it is not covered by any recall and that the throttle body needs cleaning for $250. (a $2 can of cleaner). this same vehicle stalled twice in the same trip one week earlier but i considered it as part of the cold weather. after reading all of this, they have an issue with the 2007 hemi's and have not fessed up to it.

The vehicle was purchased new october 2007, also the extended warranty 5year 60,000 was purchased at the same time. the major problems began with the transmission electronic system, the removed and replaced something inside. meanwhile the vehicle has been serviced and maintained by grava chrysler jeep since new the first time we complained and had it serviced was january 2011 and the last report was february 20,2012 and they still don't know what to fix..last year while driving home on interstate 93 speed approx 55 the vehicle lost power and we almost were struck by another vehicle, we had to come to a complete stop, place the vehicle in park to restart.would not restart in neutral. the tech and service manager said it should have, well it didn't. they replaced the ignition switch, it happened again, they replaced some module, it happened again, they changed the fuel pump, it happened again for the sixth (6) time.they kept it for 10 days and were not able to find the problem, no code ,no problem that was their answer.by the way they put over 500 miles on the vehicle this time. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving 65 mph, the engine stalled, the steering wheel became difficult to turn, and there was a delayed brake response. the failure occurred numerous times. the dealer stated that the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the contact believed the failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 14v38000 (electrical system). the approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart by turning the key back and starting the engine. the failure occurred on an intermittent basis. the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who informed the contact that they were unable to diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was contacted who offered no assistance. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 102,000. the consumer also stated the driver's seat tilts backward on its own. the remote unlock and lock buttons only worked on occasion and finally water would enter the vehicle when it rained. updated 03/09/11 updated 06/16/11 *bf updated 06/23/11

I own a 2007 jeep commander while driving car stalls in dec the vehicle wouldnt start after several attempts it did however it began reading errors service park assist and check engine light stayed on then it wouldn't read fuel, would say it was empty although it had full tank of gas. was told to replace fuel sending unit but the problem stopped on it's own when the temperature got cold the problem started up again. i'm very scared to drive it due to stalling problems not sure what to do anymore. when i called mechanic they said there is a nationwide back order on that part no timeframe given for part by dealer and still no recalls on this problem

My 2007 jeep commander turns off o me when i'm at stop signs or slowing down without any warning. today i went in for an oil change and told the service advisor about the problem. he acted like that was the first time he has heard about the issue. he asked me how often it happens and i said a few times a week. he then said that the vehicle would have to be brought in while it's happening. really!!!! how am i suppose to take it in when it happens or before it happens! the vehicle doesn't warn me and it turns in right away as if nothing has ever happened! it is so frustrating!! i've had it for less than a year and we are already experiencing problems! i don't feel safe driving the vehicle with my baby! i've read all the complaints about the same issue!! this needs to be fixed! i think this vehicle is a lemon! *tr

While driving at slow speed such as slowing to stop or taking off from a dead stop the truck stalls and has to be put in park and restarted. this happens quite frequently, and when driving on interstates when trying to accelerate the truck also stalls or has a power failure where it almost feels like it its a governed speed and the engine won't let you speed up. the computer now is having issues saying that the engine coolant is too cold, thought the thermostat is working fine as well as the gauges inside the truck. the computer is also giving a code of an error with the barometric pressure.

Leaving a parking lot and accelerating as i drove. all of the sudden the vehicle started stalling and would not accelerate even if the gas pedal was pushed. the check engine light came on as well. then the vehicle started accelerating back to normal, but the check engine light reamined on. i took it to auto zone to have a diagnostic check done and they gave me a code and said that it was not a part that they carried only from the manufacturer. it has happened a couple of times before today and on the dash it would say service park assist and the gears prndl are all highlighted.the same thing happened to me about 2 years ago and it was the shifter. it only had about 40,000 miles. it had to be completely replaced. it was not covered by my extended warranty because it was an external part of the transmission. it cost close to $600.00. now it is happening again and i don't want to replace it again if it is going to happen again in a year or two.

Engine stalls, and turns off.....had to pull to side of road due to loss of power. prnd lights lite up....and feels like trans dis engaged. at 35,000 miles had the shift module replaced under warranty. it's at 56,000 miles and its doing the same thing....not covered by warranty. i feel that if i fix it now. again....a year later the problem will still be there. happend 4 times in month...not safe to drive. *tr

Since owner my jeep commander, it has been in for repair for electrical and leaking problems. it has been in for repair for the heat/ac controls at least 3 times and now for the 2nd time because of the leaking sunroof, the power windows don't work anymore. it has been in a few times because while driving the windows go up and down, the alarm goes off and the bell chimes telling me the rear hatch is open all at the same time like the car is possessed. i'm sure there is more but cant recall all of them at this time. it is becoming a big problem. i think jeep commanders should be recalled since so many are having the same issues!!! it is a liitle scary not being able to open the windows. what if something happens and you need to get out? i will now have to spend another few hundred for repairs. just not right.

I have a 2007 jeep commander. the right rear tail light and inside dashboard panel has been consistency going out for over a year now. the fuses keep blowing. the car has been in the dealer service department several times. even after lengthy consults with engineers at chrysler, they cannot fix the problem. maybe they need to get high on marijuana and drink beer to find the problem. the car is currently in the shop again. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving at low speeds, the vehicle stalled intermittently. the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure and made attempts to repair the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified and was making an attempt to assist the contact with the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 65,000. updated 10/18/11*lj the consumer stated the vehicle has stalled over 12 times. it also bucks and will at times accelerate on its own. the vehicle also failed to start on 1st attempt. the vehicle would always re-start after it stalled. the consumer referenced nhtsa action # ea07007. update evoq 11/01/11 updated 3/30/12 *cn

2007 jeep commander. consumer states that the vehicle made a loud noise and all warning lights indicated the shift indicator. mechanic replaced the esim. consumer states the problem has returned. *kb the consumer stated on october 23, 2010 as he was entering a parking lot at a very low speed, preparing to stop, he was unable to stop and jumped the curb and a fence. *jb

Engine stalling or not starting. engine stalled while making a turn. car started immediately after but engine and oil lights remained on. service department replaced censors but that did not correct the problem. sporadically stalls at take off, when slowing down to turn/stop, when cruise control is disengaged at highway speeds. on highway, hit brake to disengage cc and switch lanes, car stalled, turned the key without putting it in park or stopping and engine kicked back in. car wouldn't start on one occasion and service department replaced alternator but problem still persists. service department replaced ignition switch but problem persists with car not starting. stuck at highway rest stop for 2 hours until car re-started. service department stated that computer needed to be replaced, then said that they weren't getting that code the next time we had problems. have replaced various parts but problem still persists. service department states that they have not been able to re-create the problem while driving. *tr

We bought this 2007 jeep commander 2 years ago and have had problems with the electronic shift module (esm) along the whole way. the vehicle's check engine light comes on followed by all of the shift locations on the dash lighted up. next the service park assist system warning on the dash. the next thing is the engine bogs down and you cannot go over 20 mph. we pull off the road and restart the engine and continue on until it happens again. this is a major design flaw as it has almost caused 2 potentially fatal car accidents on the highway with my wife and baby. please take care of this asap as i cannot afford the $1400 dollar repair to fix the esm that could end my wife and baby's life. *tr

While driving my 2007 jeep commander limited edition 4x4 at various speeds car stalls without warning. all power features including steering wheel lock and check engine light comes on. forced to maneuver to shoulder if possible (dangerous) put the car in park and then re-start. same problem has occurred approximately 50 times since 2010. have sought information from dealer and independent mechanics and attempted to repair at my own expense to no avail. mechanics have been unable to replicate the problem while on road tests, which is expected since the stalling is unpredictable. the most recent occurrence was 8/5/14 - complete engine stall while driving (approximately 40mpg), steering wheel and all other power features locked in the middle of traffic. put the car in park then re-started. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated when driving in rainy weather, all instrument panel lights would intermittently illuminate while driving at various speeds. the failure would cause the speedometer and fuel level indicator to give inaccurate readings. when the fuel level indicator would read empty, the vehicle would stall, despite there being fuel in the vehicle. the instrument panel would reset itself to normal after several minutes. the manufacturer advised to have the vehicle diagnosed, because the vehicle did not have a recall, and they are not aware of the failure. the dealer stated the failure could only be duplicated while the vehicle was experiencing the actual failure. the contact had not yet taken the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis. the failure mileage was 49,000 and the current mileage was 52,100.

Purchased used in spring 2008 with approx. 30k miles, in spring of 2010 had several weeks of issues ranging from vehicle cutting off randomly, vehicle jumping while at stop lights, hesitating to go into 2nd and 3rd gear and then the 'service park assist' light would illuminate along with the gear indicator lights being all highlighted. obviously the dealer could not reproduce this but replaced the 'shifter mechanisim / shift lever housing, automatic transmission console shifter' and now in january of 2013 at 83369 miles, while driving home from lunch we could not get the vehicle to come out of first and the gear indicator lights were all highlighted. and for about 2 or more months have had the same issues as before with the vehicle cutting off, acceleration issues, jumping while in drive at a stop light. waiting for the dealership to call back because its a jeep and you cant have newer jeeps repaired by anyone other than a dealership. complete racket. not to mention that you can't even check the transmission fluid, that has to be done by a dealership also. will not buy jeep again! ever!!!!! *tr

2007 jeep commander, started with "service park assist" light coming on along with the check engine light. took it in for service, they could not determine the problem so they reset the system. two days later the same thing began to happen again, along with the lights around the p n r d on the display coming on all together, the car also then began to not want to accelerate after a certain point. almost acting like it was not wanting to shift to the next gear. this happened for 8 months, still no service was done because they were unable to recreate the problem. it began to occur while driving and coming to a stop and starting to go forward again. causing problems crossing intersections or traffic. have now been told to replace the transmission control module, which we did. this did not fix the issue. in the last week were told to replace the electronic shift module.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated that the electronic shift module failed while driving 70 mph. the vehicle decelerated abnormally before stalling without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer previously who replaced the electronic shift module however, the failure continued to recur. the dealer advised the contact that they needed to replace the electronic shift module once again. the manufacturer was notified who offered to cover fifty percent of the repair costs. the failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 112,000.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) 2007 jeep commander [xxx] turn the ignition key and does not want to start, did it in october 2009 and march 10th 2010. all power is on, lights, radio, boosted battery, this is not the issue, it finally turned on idled extremely high, i turned it off and tried to start it over and over and over and would not start. by reviewing the internet other owners of the 2007 jeep commnader are experiencing ;stalling and the car not starting, it appers to be an alternator issue, but chrysler is saying they don't know why this is occurring. my car was towed to south point dodge, in austin texas for diagnostic analyzing, they have not told me what the problem is. i am concerned if this issue is nationwide and chrysler has not done a recall. this is a major safety issue if cars are stalling on the highways and not starting, could cause a death. please look into this matter immediately. Transmission stalling while driving- according the dealership service this is a problem with the electronic shift module. this has happened several times and is also a noted problem in these vehicles. this same vehicle has already been recalled for similar issue, but only for the bigger engine size. chrysler has informed me that they will not investigate even though it is the same problem in a different engine size. the vehicle can be traveling at 70 mph on the interstate and stall without warning. it will not go any further without stopping, turning off the engine and restarting. this happens several times daily. i have tried to get fixed and work with the problem, but after almost being rearended by an 18wheeler on the interstate today, enough is enough. it is for 2007 jeep commander 3.7lt. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled twice with the illumination of a warning symbol.the dealer inspected the vehicle and initially determined the battery to be the cause of the failure but later advised that it was not and that the failure could not be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 53,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. whenever the contact drove the vehicle between 45-50 mph and accelerated, the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the failure could not be reproduced. the failure occurred after replacement of the water pump. the current and failure mileages were 55,000. updated 4/5/10 *cn updated 06/18/10.*jb

Early 2010 i experienced issues with the engine light, "service park assist' and all my gears lighting up at once, and not being able to accelerate in the middle of 65mph traffic!. after researching the 'symptoms' and talking to several mechanics it was discovered the esm 'was bad' and was replaced. it began at approx 55,000 miles. i went thru quite a process with chrysler over this issue. long story short, now...amazingly after another 60,000 miles (coincidence???) i need to have it replaced again as all the same things are happening? jeeps usually last a long time, and this is not an issue with maintaining my vehicle or how i drive...so i will have to potentially replace it again and again? of course chrysler tells me its not a known problem with the vehicles yet just on this site and looking for the exact complaints i find no less than 45 of the same complaint and at least another 100+ that are probably the same just worded differently. how many complaints does it take to have a company pay for and replace defective parts? does it take a certain number of fatalities?? i honestly don't understand how it just gets ignored fort years and years. on top of that, the work has to be done at a dealer due to certain tools needed, and its no less than $1000 to replace. how convenient for the company. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving 70 mph, the contact reached in the back seat, bumped the key in the ignition, and the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was placed in the park position and was able to be restarted. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it could not be diagnosed; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commandeer. while driving above 30 mph the vehicle began shaking and shut off. he was able to restart the vehicle; however, the engine warning light illuminated on the instrument control panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the ignition control switch was repaired under warranty. the failure recurred after the vehicle was repaired. the dealer was notified and the technicians advised him that the vehicle should not be brought in for inspection. the failure mileage was 26000. the current mileage was 27993.

This is my 2nd complaint to you guys about this frightening and dangerous issue of my jeep commander engine stalling problems. i almost had another accident by driving 35 mph and the engine just stalls, power and lighting flashes on and off, then fails. no power over the car and the steering wheel locks up! the car behind me had to veer sharply to keep from running into the back of me. it was an unexpected stall for other vehicles as well as myself. i have tried to get help, but to no avail. i am scared to continue to drive this dangerous auto and need some help either replacing it or jeep to take it back! also, it still jerks forward, (with my foot on the brake!) while i'm sitting at a light, almost hitting the pedestrians walking in the crosswalk in front of me. there are many complaints on the internet with very similar and like complaints and no one is doing anything about it. i guess they're waiting for a tragedy, instead of trying to prevent one. please advise. *tr

Vehicle stalls and driver loses command of accelerator, power steering and brakes. happens at various speeds but obviously most dangerous at highway speeds. when vehicle loses power, all gear indicators light up on the dashboard and the vehicle information system display reads "service park assist system" and the check engine light appears. recommended dealer repair is the replacement of the "electronic shift module". this temporarily solves the problem but recurs within a few thousand miles. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated that the key remained stuck in the ignition. the contact also stated that the vehicle stalled on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the ignition switch was replaced but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who replaced the ignition cylinder and recoded the cylinder. the contact stated that three months later, the engine rpms increased and the engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the ignition switch was replaced and code was cleared but the failure persisted. the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated again and the vehicle jerked abnormally. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the software was updated and a new computer was installed but failed to remedy the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 32,520. updated 11/20/14*cn updated 8/17/15 *js

About 9 times over the last 3 years, my jeep commander 2007 limited v8 has stalled while moving causing the electrical components including lights, radio, dashboard panel, etc to momentarily turn off. each time, the stall is accompanied by a loud "clunking" noise. in each instance i have been traveling on the interstate 60+ mph. i am able to restart everytime by either pulling over or putting the car into neutral, restarting the engine, and then putting it back into drive while moving. i have discussed this with the dealership on two different occasions and have been told there is nothing they can do unless the check engine light comes on which has never occurred. this has happened to both of the primary drivers of the vehicle, and the ignition switch has never been accidentally turned off. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. on a separate occasion, while driving less than 15 mph, the driver attempted to pull into a parking space and all of the electrical components failed. he was able to restart the vehicle, but once it was placed into reverse, the failure recurred. in addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel once the vehicle was restarted. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but they could not duplicate the failures. the dealer suggested not to drive the vehicle and stated that the failures may have been related to grounding in the wiring system. no repairs have been made to date. the failure and current mileages were less than 38,000.

Since i purchased my jeep commander i have experience total electrical failure while driving on many occasions. this happens approximately every 6 months. while driving in speeds varying from 20 - 70 miles an hour my car will lose power. prior to losing power all dash lights, tachometers, hazards, warning lights and performance indicators will flash repeatedly, very quickly. within moments of the flashing lights my gas will shut off, my brake system completely fails and my steering will completely lock up. i have absolutely no way of controlling my vehicle in any manner. several times my vehicle has stopped in major traffic. numerous times other vehicles have had to make drastic maneuvers to avoid crashing into my car. i have almost been rear ended and was nearly t-boned when my car died as i attempted to make a left hand turn. in the event that i am hit, my airbags have no power and will not deploy. my windows and locks have no power. my children and i could be trapped in my car. i have taken my car to the jeep dealership that i purchased it at and they refuse to fix it and will not provide a replacement vehicle that is not a death trap. i have called the chrysler recall assistance center and was told no parts are available and have no indication as to when or if there ever will be. i cannot sell my car because no one will buy it knowing it has such major safety issues. this is the only vehicle i own. i have 3 children that drive in this car everyday. one of my children has cancer and i need a safe reliable car to take him for chemotherapy treatments. chrysler is not accepting any responsibility even though i was mailed a recall notice. please help!!!!!

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle shut off. the road conditions were not a factor. while decelerating, all of the indicators on the instrument panel flashed and the vehicle shut off. the contact was able to maintain control of the vehicle. the failure occurred intermittently and the dealer could not find any failures. after the failure occurred, the vehicle would immediately restart. the vehicle is currently at the dealer and they still cannot determine the cause of the failure. the manufacturer could not seem to troubleshoot the issue. the failure mileage was 33,000. updated 02/10/09 *bf updated 02/11/09.*jb

I own a 2007 jeep commander at about 10,000 miles it started to stall and turn off. dealer did not replace any parts only flushed the on board computer and updated the software. months later it started to do the same thing. dealer did not find anything wrong and performed the same task of flushing the computer and updating its software. two years and 23,000 miles and the car is having the same problem. i have an extended warranty so i'm going back to the dealer, but i don't think they we fix the problem . tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving various speeds, the vehicle lost power. the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. all the gear selections illuminated on the instrument cluster. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine, radiator, spark plugs, and multiple parts needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vin was later included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system); however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 20,000. parts distribution disconnect.

While driving my assistance system brake light came on i was driving 30mph and had to pull over the car would not shift or go over 30 mpr at 31,505 miles on it and the ems electric transmission shift module. has to be replaced. 4 yrs later mileage at 82,000 miles the same part has to be replaced.this time i was on interstate 94 driving 60mpr and the lights came on i pulled off interstate and when i pulled into gas station the car pulled and lunged i turned it off waited and turned back on while i was driving at 30mpr it would not go past 30mpr. i have contacted chrysler and all they can say is hold on to your receipts as this part is no longer under warranty and informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. this malfunctions has caused me to no longer feel safe in my car. i don't want to drive my car with my daughter in it. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. while driving approximately 30 mph on normal road conditions, the engine stalled unexpectedly while proceeding to a complete stop. the engine restarted after several attempts with the gear shifter placed in the neutral position. the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the failures occurred intermittently. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failure was related to the electronic control unit (ecu). the dealer reprogrammed the ecu; however, the failure recurred on a separate occasion. the vehicle currently has not been repaired. the contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. the failure mileage was 38,000 and current mileage was 40,200. updated 01/07/09. *lj the consumer stated several components were replaced, but the stalling continued. updated 01/08/09. *jb

I have had my 07 jeep commander (3.6 v6) since january 2008. i have notice numerous times while driving from a complete stop, that my vehicle will lose power and start to sputter when i try to apply the gas and the car moves very slow as in less than 20mph. this has happened to me numerous times and makes me very uncomfortable driving knowing that my car can stop and leave me vulnerable to being rear-ended at intersections or common stops. i notice when this happens that my vehicle cluster displays "service park assist" and the service park assist light comes on uncontrollably and at the same time my dash/ cluster also displays ( [p][r][n][d] ) all at once as if the vehicle does not know what gear it is in. this is not acceptable for a vehicle that is supposed to provide a safe driving experience. i also find it very disappointing that numerous people all over the united states and internet/ forums all have this problem and chrysler tries to narrow it down to a select year. model. and engine. my vehicle has the same issues as the previous recall for the 2007 4.7 v8 engines, yet chrysler ignores the community of jeep commander owners with the 3.6 v6 engine that have the same problem. there is also a tsb (18-004-09 rev. a) that describes the clunking and hesitation you feel when trying to get up to speed. this is not something a customer should have to pay for. my vehicle is a 2007 with less than 40,000 miles on it and i should be able to enjoy my vehicle safely during this time period. another problem is that the vehicle does this at random so you can't just take it to the dealership and show them the problem. i'm sure they would gladly take my money and let me spend 1000+ dollars for new parts, but i have an 8yr/80,000 mile warranty purchased from chrysler and will not pay for diagnostic after diagnostic to try and replicate a problem that is clearly there... *tr

I have a 2007 jeep commander and it is less than four years old and i have had the starter replaced 4 times. jeep can't explain why they can't fully fix the problem and they refuse to acknowledge that this is an issue with the commanders at large and not my specific vehicle. in addition to having had the starter replaced 4 times, i have also had the electronic shifting module replaced as well and the crankshaft. my commander has less than 40,000 miles on it and has been well maintained since i purchased it brand new. jeep has failed to address my concerns and refuses to accept responsibility for selling me a vehicle. jeep suggested i purchase a new vehicle and i find this preposterous due to the fact that the car is less than four years old. the commander is clearly defective and jeep needs to take responsibility for it. instead, jeep refuses to accept responsibility and they decided to rectify the problem by halting production. *tt

When i try to accelerate my vehicle hesitates and then shuts off. the lights on the dashboard illuminate but the car is no longer running. this happens at least once a month and has been in for service and the problem has not been corrected. *tr

Drain tubes leak into vehicle thru upper hand grab and under dash due to routing of tubes... they clog very easy and vehicle owners cannot see them or have knowledge of them until a heavy rain leaves the car flooded. most likely eroding wires under dash and causing mold in carpet. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to restart the vehicle and all the warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system) however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

I completed a recall (14v-438 recall date: september 3, 2014 manufacturer recall number: p41) understanding that my problem would end. the ignition key recall work: when i insert the key to the ignition, it takes an effort to push and turn the ignition key. 1) i am afraid the key will break off after several attempts. 2) i have not experienced the light flickering and electric panel shutdown (engine still running, but panel seems to be disconnected from engine performance at this point) 3) my vehicle continues to accelerated on its own with foot on brakes only when stopped at a light or stopped and making turns, or stopped on "p- park" with engine idling joltin my head/body (to describe how much it is felt).

I am guessing it is "electrical". since new (2007), this vehicle has had problem with intermittent starting. random, unpredictable. turn key to start, nothing happens, no click, nothing. there is power in acc position (lights, dash, etc ok). when it happens, have been able to wiggle gear shifter, put it into park multiple times, push on the brake pedal, wiggle shifter more.. then usually it starts. have also tried it in neutral, and it started in neutral (not safe). dealership service dept multiple tmes has been unable to root cause it or permanently fix it. danger of leaving older female driver stranded as it has in parking garages, etc. one should be able to confidently start a vehicle that has no other problems and is well taken care of. to stay when it happened - not a one time thing. it has happened multiple time over the years, starting back in 2007 when it was still under warranty.

I called the dealer (walnut creek chrysler jeep) in 2007 that my engine made a stalling noise when i started the engine, and they said not to worry about it (i purchased the vehicle in may 2007, so only a few months later). i moved the car to ct, and to tx (warranty companies continue to track my address, no word of recalls, they almost stalk me, i have the mailings to prove it, which i would like to opt-out from; only use an e-mail for recalls). for months, and years, i have been complaining that my vehicle has been accelerating usually while stopped at a traffic light, it stalls while driving, the front panel lights flicker even shut off (seems running on auto pilot), the engine self-shuts off for no reason. i even asked dealers if there were any recalls, they said no. i heard that many people had their front panel vehicle lights flicker erratically, also the self-accelerating and self-stalling problems with their vehicles. the thought that my car had been hacked crossed my mind (many studies show that this can happen); i contacted my insurance company, and also the state police agency regarding a drivers license and agency documentation fine print about research. no accidents, but the above problems continue to affect my vehicle (the panel lights "some what" slowed down, but the self-acceleration, self-stalling continue, and self-shut down continue. i have driven my vehicle for approximately 35,000 miles, and purchased it new in may 2007. is this a safety issue? note: do not post or distribute my personal information, or upload to a public database. please keep my personal information private. in addition, i do not want to be pestered with more warranty offers; i have no idea how they obtained my physical address.
