I was leaving my condominium, soon after stepping the pedal, brake that message appeared on the on-board computer, then vehicle stopped walking. i was trying to call again, to park the same inside my parking space inside the condominium, started to make a very lucky noise and not calling, had to maneuver the vehicle without starting and still call a winch, to take to my reliable mechanic, that until today we can not find out what the problem is this vehicle, whenever we press the brake pedal, the message appears and does not start the vehicle.
Car will turn off. turn the key and pull it out, car stays running. when this happens, car is in a possessed state where brake lights stay on at all times, turn signals do not work, wipers do not work, horn does not work. took it to dealership and was told there are no codes, so nothing they can do. pull the battery cable off to shut the car down. this will happen mid drive so all of a sudden you'll lose your turn signals, wipers, horn, brake lights, door locks, and main light control. when you pull over, only way to turn the car off is to pull the battery cable.
2015 jeep cherokee trailhawk. was parked when service brake light came on and wouldn't allow vehicle to drive. could not disengage the parking brake for almost 2 hours. did this several times within 2 days. set up service at dealership and they said water was getting into the parking brake modular and corroding it in the wiring harness the parking brake modular and corroding it and the wiring harness.
I have 2015 jeep cherokee latitude. sometimes check engine light comes on and then is gone after few hours or day. some times message blinking "service park brake service transmission" then like something was wrong with system does not save clock time or a/c put me on heath and auto light does not stay on. sometimes when i start the car and release the park bark brake car jumps hard two or three times and after i turn engine off without using parking brake and back on everything is fine.the car only has 55000 miles. i'm so afraid to drive car because don't know what can happened
We bought a 2015 jeep cherokee in 2016 and without being told of the issues with the transmissions issues. we have had our jeep in the shop four times with transmissions issues of shifting hard and now going into neutral when in drive and the brakes going hard and the jeep coming to a stop. the anit slide has now came on and the jeep shakes . the updates came one day when i was getting onto the highway going 65 mph and the jeep went to 30 mph with my grandkids in the car and two disels one behind me blowing the horn because he almost hit me and one to the side of me. my husband was coming home from a dr visit again the jeep went into a neutral state while in the drive position and the jeep stopped and he was almost hit then the jeep jerked and went into gear so he went into a shopping center and had to stop and kill the jeep and restart the jeep to make the jeep restart just to get it home. it went back to the shop that night! we have had the jeep in the shop for hard shifting when taking off and now it is hard shifting when taking off and down shifting, anti slide randomly comes on, brakes are not properly stopping the car. go to the dealer where we bought it and they only offered $7500 for it when we owe $15, 000 and this is so ridiculous. called jeep and awaiting a call, they stated they have to call the dealer. in the mean time i had to buy another car because ours is to unsafe to drive! the jeep is sticking in gear and the tac meter is staying on 3 or 4. then when you turn the jeep off and turn it back on it may or may not work. we have backed it out of our driveway and put into drive and it shifts so hard into first and second gear. now since the last time we picked it up from the shop the jeep has now started loosing power when you attempt to drive. we have parked the jeep and decided it isn't safe!
Hello, im second owner who got this suv 2 months ago, 50000 miles and yesterday while i driving start feel the transmission dont doing right, also when i stop on the corners the car made one more move like someone hit me from behind. finally something on the lcd dash told me something like "check and restart the transmission and some light went off, and in the gear start blinking on d. i was on 101 goleta, caliornia.
Car has been stutter starting. once it finally starts i get an error code that says service park breaks service transmission. then when putting jeep into gear the transmission will shift hard and you can feel the car jerk and hear a clunking sound. once you stop and turn the car off and back on a couple of times the error messages will go away and jeep will drive normally. two days ago jeep had been driving normal. i stopped to get gas. after filling my tank i returned to the car to start it and the car would not start after inserting and turning the key i would not get a click or nothing. i also had no lights, not on the dash or out side of the car. after trying to jump start the car unsuccessfully i ended up having the car towed home. once home the battery was removed and taken to be tested. i was told the battery was bad so i replaced the battery and jeep started up fine however after starting i received the error message service park break and jeep again would shift really hard. error message went away jeep started ro drive fine. drove to the doctor and when i pulled into parking space jeep got stuck in neutral. finally got the jeep to go into gear and went to drive back home and jeep would not shift right and again jumped into neutral where it got stuck. finally got home and parked jeep waiting to get it into the dealer now. jeep has 95000 miles on it.
Was parked at the store got in and started it. it hiccuped on starting. shifted to reverse and a huge clunk happened. i revered and shifted to drive again a huge clunk. once driving it had no power and service transmission and parking brake came on.
I have a 2015 jeep cherokee limited 4x4, when i try to slow down or stop the vehicle will speed up. it is like you are giving it gas instead of applying the break. it was purchased with around 13500 miles on the odometer on 9-22-2018, it now has 21360 miles as of 11-27-2018. the transmission completely stopped working on the highway in traffic. the transmission would not make the vehicle move and acted as if it was not in any gear. it has seamed to have issues from the time i purchased it and i was told by a jeep dealership that it was just the normal way that the 9 speed transmission worked. if this is normal for a transmission to fail at 21000 miles i feel that is a major concern and a huge issue.
Service brake system keeps coming on after multiple times taking it to the dealer and then fixing it . it won't let me drive the vehicle and has slammed the brakes on me while the car was moving . i've looked up and i am not the only one have this problem with the jeep .
When trying to start vehicle the dash electronics flash transmission maintenance required, brake maintenance required. the steering wheel gets hard to turn. when you put your foot on the brake to turn over the engine the car stutters as if there is no battery power. it turns over once, starts, then shuts off. the car will start once then you will need to step on the gas while still in park for the car to stay on. cause unknown.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. the contact noticed that the brake pedal was very stiff and would not depress when the push start button was depressed. the vehicle was towed to the dealer (lambert chrysler/dodge/jeep/ram, 5 river road, claremont, nh 03743) where it was diagnosed that there was brake fluid leakage. the contact stated that the failure began approximately six months ago. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 50,627.
Truck vibrate when applying brakes rotors and pads still good only 22000 miles
The brakes light will randomly come on and the brakes lock and nothing can be done. you're stuck. it came on while driving yesterday and i was unable to press the brake pedal. it started initially april 2018 and the dealership kept it for weeks- but was evasive on what the actual problem was. whatever was done -did not resolve the issue. ive found multiple online forums with people discussing the same issues. example: https://www.jeepcherokeeclub.com/threads/2015-cherokee-brake-system-lock-up.105530 they have advised that there is an electrical short causing sensor issues with the brakes on this year and model we continue to have the same issue and it does not appear to be a coincidence
Transmission has failed 3 times in the last 2 months. once it finally enabled me to put it in drive it would not shift gears right. the highest it would go is 3rd out of 9. it jerks forward on all gear changes. the service transmission warning keeps flashing. prior to this the auto start /stop feature failed to function. the local jeep dealer has tried to repair this 3 times for us. we are the 2nd owner. the first owner had the same issues. the original owner had the transmission replaced. we were never told of the lemon "buy back" when we bought the car.
Brakes are contantly being changed. the car shakes when braking at all times. battery always needs charged. the car will turn off unexpectedly due to battery. it has stopped at stop lights and it has stopped on i70 going towards hagerstown, md and several city streets. it has been changed and still needs charging. cruise control does not go to speed desired and will not slow down when decreasing the speed. shifting gears switches to neutral unexpectedly. car also lunges while in drive as if gears have been changed. this will happen on all roads regardless of the speed.
Vehicle will not start. says to service transmission and park brake.
While braking the car abruptly downshifts and causes the vehicle to accelerate. i have noticed the longer i drive the vehicle, it will happen while i am slowing down at higher speeds at well. also, a slow response to acceleration at times. i have taken the jeep to the dealership and they have flashed and updated my transmission but they said it was fixed but it was not. it is incredibly dangerous to drive this car especially when trying to brake because it will speed up by itself and merging into hwy or fast moving traffic.
While driving less than 10 mph, emergency brake came on thus making the car unable to steer or move.
Lost of power we have been lucky we where not on a major hyway when this happens want to know if this vehicle can or been hacked. there are a lot of jeep cherokees on the road a lot of owners are complaining about this problem this is a very serious problem seems like nothing being done about this
I previously filed a complaint in december, 2015 regarding the automatic braking system applying the brakes for no reason. in january, 2016, the dealership replaced the braking system; however, the car has braked automatically on two separate occasions since they were replaced. third time april 1st, 2016 while backing into my driveway, no vehicles or objects around. took into dealership, dealership stated no problem found and that was normal braking (this is not normal braking). fourth time on august 29th, 2016, again, while backing into driveway with no vehicle or objects around. taking the vehicle back into the dealership on 8/30/16, this is the 4th visit to the dealership for this issue.
Transmission shifting and reliability. we have the trailhawk version of the cherokee. we are having issues of a clank/bang occasionally about 40-42mph; it can be felt in the floorboard. sometimes we will get this in reverse when we start to move. the biggest complaint is when trying to leave a light or intersection and step on the gas nothing happens or it slowing starts to speed up or it takes off like a jackrabbit. it is not consistent. when leaving an intersection we are not confident in what type of reaction we are going to get. will it move or maybe decide to move eventually. also, normal acceleration seems spongy or bouncy. it is like pressing gas pedal down (slightly) then letting off; on off, on off, on off. it happens quickly until we reach 20 plus mph. if we select the sport mode, i have not noticed the spongy feeling on acceleration. i think that knowing how your car is going/supposed to respond when applying the brake or pressing the accelerator pedal is important the safety and confidence in driving one's vehicle. my wife has also experienced the parking brake reapplying when she is backing out of a parking spot at her work. the parking lot is on a slope. she backs up and when she tries to go forward it doesn't want to move. then she looks and the parking brake is back on. she has to turn it off again to move. we also have been having issues with the rear hatch. the dealership has done the recall for the electric lift mechanism. we have issues when it won't open electrically and issues with it not latching. there was nothing in the cargo area to interfere with the hatch operation. we have addressed these issues especially with the transmission several times with the jeep dealership and have left messages with no response to the messages. we currently have 20600 miles on the 2015 cherokee.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. while driving 30 mph, the check engine and battery warning lights illuminated. in addition, the 'place the vehicle in park position' warning message displayed. the vehicle was placed into the park position and another error message illuminated stating 'place the vehicle in the desired gear'. the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts and the brake pedal was difficult to depress. the failure was intermittent. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
Engine shuts down stalls out while driving no warning on roadways freeways no power steering or brakes serious injury or death could be a result.
Purchased vehicle new, july 2015. on three separate occasions, while driving between 35 mph to 45 mph, vehicles automatic braking system engaged for no reason causing the vehicle to slow dramatically in traffic. first instance was driving on country road, second instance on major interstate, third instance driving on city road. in addition, on numerous occasions, automatic braking system engaged for no reason when vehicle is in backing mode. this has occurred while backing into parking spaces and into my garage. in all instances, the braking warning system engaged automatically. has been at dealership twice for these two problems, most recent visit, dealership was able to duplicate the automatic braking engaging when it should not have while in backing mode. no resolution from dealership at this point.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. while driving 60 mph, the vehicle began to violently shake. the dealer diagnosed that the brakes and rotors failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. in addition, on another occasion, the vehicle failed to shift properly and shifted roughly without warning. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. after coming to a stop, the vehicle independently shut off. the contact mentioned that the push to start failed to restart the vehicle and the instrument panel illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the fuel saving feature was enabled and the push to start feature needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the failure mileage was 400.
I was driving about 45 mph just after leaving my driveway and a deer jumped in front of the car. when i move my foot from the gas peddle to the brake peddle in a hurry during engine warm up the power brakes do not work. i can not stop the car. i can not engage the abs or slide the tires. i push the brake peddle as hard as i can and there is no power brakes. i had the dealer service look at it 3 or 4 times and they even tried some other new cars that are the same make and model and said that they have the same problem. and that this problem is not repairable because all the jeep cherokees are the same way, only some have the problem worse. this problem is only apparent during engine warm up. it seems to be a lack of vacuum to the power brake module when you move your foot from the gas to the brake, in a split second, during an emergency stop. my car is still not correct and dealer says that all jeep cherokees are not correct. please help us jeep cherokee owners before we kill someone. thank you,
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. while driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled and the brakes failed. the vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 3,800.
I have owned this vehicle for 4 months and every 3 weeks i have to return it for service due to the transmission, 4x4 and traction control not working. starts off in 3rd - 4th gear at any given time (almost been hit several times), will accelerate and surge forward during down shifting while stopping (almost hit several different vehicles) and now surges to 7000rpm when turning right and parking break has locked up 3 different times while in gear. 2 different dealerships don't know what to fix because it doesn't register any codes, they also tell me that this is a huge problem on all 9 speed transmissions they make, not just the one's in jeeps. but since they don't know what to fix and therefore its not an issue and i have to take my unpredictable and unsafe vehicle home and not the loaner because jeep will not pay for it. i have contacted jeep who assigned me a "resolution case manager" who will no longer return my phone calls for buy back or trading for a different vehicle. is that their resolution, blow everyone off and hope we all go away?? why is nothing being done for everyone's safety? why are they still knowingly selling these vehicles with no know fix? how long before someone gets seriously injured? there is more than enough information that i have read on this page yet there is no action? isn't that what this site is for? action?
Purchased the 2015 jeep cherokee in march. have had issues with the transmission due to the recalls. the vehicle would slow and not shift properly, it would also lurch and stall and shift very clunky. 9/21 - had the recalls taken care of and was told it would solve the issues. 9/22 - driving on the freeway in stop and go traffic and the car suddenly lurches and then stops. the service transmission, check engine and emergency brake were all flashing. i almost got rear-ended and was in a serious accident. i had to turn the car off on the freeway to "reboot" it as it was stuck in a parked position but not powered off. 9/24 - en route to get the car serviced, i was on the freeway in traffic, it lurches and stopped again, this time causing me to rear-end the vehicle in front of me.
Driving on the highway and as i approached the exit i tried to tap the break, nothing happened and they were locked... the peddle had no give at all and the vehicle had no breaking ability. shifted the automatic gear box into manual and down shifted into 1st gear to come to slow speed/stop.....ran a few red light due to this and luckily the roads were empty.
The transmission sifts erratically, from first to second & second to third gears. its sluggish grinding has caused near rear end collisions from drivers following the vehicle, as it speeds up & slows unpredictably. i have taken this vehicle to the dealership 5 times during the first 11 months of ownership. the 1st time was july 2015. 3 times technicians have installed updates (or "fixes") to the transmission; 2 times the technicians have claimed an inability to identify the problem. when the vehicle shifts into park the brakes do not hold, causing it to lunge forward. when driving in "stop and go" traffic conditions, upon applying brakes the vehicle lunges forward. this problem has resulted in near accidents due to the inability for the driver to control brake activity. the vehicle was seen in 8/15; he was unable to identify the problem. the vehicle continues to exhibit these problems.. the vehicle continues to exhibit these problems after multiple attempts to address them. the vehicle has 5,100 miles on it. it continues to exhibit these problems after multiple attempts to address them. i have been to the dealership 7 times to address repeated problems, causing a loss of time to employment. repeated flawed attempts to address problems have diminished its trade in value. attempts to negotiate trade in or replacement actions with the dealership have not been successful, as remedies such as trade in reflects its diminished value. the vehicle consistently causes safety concerns to the driver as well as potential occupants. i am a senior citizen, and disabled; these two attributes make automobile safety a particular concern to me. please let me know if you need additional information about these reports.
Transmission stalls alot and is very sluggish , really afraid to let my son ride in the jeep because im scared we will get hit because you have no power to get out of the way. my jeep always would not start today and when i tried cranking it the brakes felt like a rock and could not be depressed ,,, that could really cause a problem and get myself and others hurt if the brakes did that while driving , thank god i was not on the road this accured in my driveway. scared to really drive this jeep but i pay $940 a month and you would think this thing would run and drive and be safe but im now wondering about this and i have only had this jeep since july 20 15 and it only has 1977 miles on it.hope this info may help others.
Brakes make a clicking noise when pedal is depressed and nobody can duplicate it.
As i was driving the car notified me that my 4wd was temporary suspended and after sometime it showed service transmission and the service light came on and my steering was stuck, it was difficult to control the car but i managed to stop the car in a remote place. after i tried to restart the jeep i could not restart it and there was not cranking noise and i got 3 messages on my dash. "service transmission" "service park brake" and svc 4wd. i have had the jeep for less than a month. it just had 939 miles on it.
I leased the vehicle on 6/17/15. within a week the service park brake light came on briefly. dealership said it was a fluke. a few days later. back sensor beep would not turn off while driving. dealership said it was a fluke. a day later power lift gate wouldn't work for a day. dealership said it was a fluke. when i called the dealership the first time they proceeded to tell me car was sold to me with a reprogramming airbag recall so i took in to get fix & have other items looked at. they never looked at other issues. a week later service brake light came back on i took in immediately. after 3 days sitting in the shop they said 25 codes came up & not sure how to fix. after a week of them having the car they said it was fixed. after 10 hrs of having back the transmission light came on. i took back to service & the mgr said car is unsafe and would request a new vehicle for me that would take 6 wks to get. he also told me the dealership they got my vehicle from had issues w/car and never said anything. in the week i haven't had the vehicle i've been given 6 loaner cars. 1 of which broke down with service park brake & transmission lights on and could not shift. i have demanded chrysler to cancel my lease and return my funds owed...updated 09/22/15 *bf the consumer stated the ncds arbitrator and chrysler agreed to release the consumer from the lease. the consumer would also be reimbursed. updated 12/9/2015*js updated 12/21/15*js
Less than 90 days after buying a new jeep cherokee i watched it towed away b/c it was un-driveable. it began in the morning when the gears were not shifting appropriately. then a few hours later, the engine would rev, and car would speed up, even though i wasn't pushing gas pedal. then reverse failed. then the parking brake light came on. finally, it stopped shifting up -- i had to floor it to go 5 miles an hour. i ultimately had to coast home. ....updated 11/02/15*bf updated 11/02/2017*cn
2015 jeep cherokee sport was purchased in october of 2014. around end may 2015 experienced problems with braking. while coming to a stop sign brake would be pressed down but vehicles rpm's would rev up and vehicle would start accelerating forward. vehicle was brought to shop after finally being able to make an appointment on 06/16/15. mechanic was able to experience the problem and reset module on vehicle. but check engine light came on. dealership gave vehicle back to us and we drove it for two more days and the problem still persisted. on 06/18/2015 a deer had entered highway and while braking vehicle again accelerated and hit the deer causing front end damage. problem could of been 100 times worse because there were also bicyclists on road as well as tractor trailer traveling behind. vehicle was brought to dealership via tow truck. tow truck driver even stated there is something severely wrong with the vehicle. when driver took vehicle off flat bed he put the vehicle in reverse and the vehicle went forward instead of reverse plus the emergency brake came on by itself. chrysler was contacted and they are doing an investigation on vehicle because of the severity. my wife and i just want them to take the vehicle back because we do not feel safe in it one bit.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. while driving approximately 65 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle began to vibrate. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was discovered that all four brakes and rotors were excessively overheated. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 480.
Vehicle began shifting hard, and accelerating when brakes applied. lunges forward gaining speed while brakes engaged. no services engine lights at that times. taken to dealer for service. told by service man that it had 2 recalls for updates to transmission computer. never notified about recalls or can't find recalls regarding transmission on their website. updates applied today and was picked up. drove approximately 10 miles toward home when it lunged hard, alarms sounded and service lights turned on. taken directly back to dealer and awaiting their response. other non safety related issues include driver side running light malfunction, smart screen audio/climate control malfunctions.
I purchased a jeep cherokee 2015 on may 1st and started having trouble with the start/stop system on the 3rd. a passenger and i were coming to a stop and the vehicle completely shut off and stopped running. the control system, within the driver's panel, flashed start/stop system is unavailable, service start/stop system. i had to restart the car in the middle of the highway. it did this three times before we got home. the engine light also came on at this point. i did not drive it again until the next morning and hoped to make it to work and then take it to the dealer that afternoon. well i shouldn't have done that... on the way to work, on the interstate, i started slowing down and the system did the same thing. as i sped up the gears starting sticking, the car was stalling and i finally had to pull over and restart the car. on the interstate!!! the car did this another four or five times before i made it to work and another three times before i got to the dealership. when i first arrived, they could not figure out the issue and no reprogramming fixed the problem. they did state that the car has a flash update (aka recall), which was not communicated to me when i purchased the vehicle. so finally today, thursday, may 7th, (3 days later) chrysler decided the car needed a brand new transmission. wasn't the transmission brand new anyway????? this purchase has been very disappointing and i am really concerned about the safety of these vehicles. i really hope this new transmission fixes the problem. i also hope a serious recall is communicated to the public before anyone gets hurt! *tr
My wife was driving the car all day long the brake light would come on and off after picking up my children she was going by the dealership and decided to turn in because the brakes were acting funny and has she got into the dealership she had a total breakdown you're the guy looking at the car was in amazement that she made it there safely he had no idea how she made it there safely. *tr
When brakes are pressed the engine revs up, and jerks, the rpms shot up, then plummet, and the power surges, and you feel the car struggle to find the correct gear. service engine light on, cannot be reset by dealer when at a stop and going up incline, no power at all may 1. 2015 brought to dealer. hooked up to computer, an hour later dealer returns telling that the vehicle needs parts. they are back ordered. we are sent home with a unsafe vehicle told to come back in four weeks. *tr
Backed out of business driveway onto busy street and placed vehicle into drive, as i depressed the gas pedal the emergency parking brake applied itself and vehicle stayed in place for several seconds until brake released itself. nearly got rear ended by approaching traffic from rear. this has happened several times and could be a life threatening situation. *tr
4/3/15 transmission recall work completed. 4/25/15 car would not shift properly. email of notification from jeep at time light came on read: malfunction indicator light indicates your vehicle needs service, prolonged driving could cause damage to the engine control system. car taken to local dealer 4/25/15-5/8/15 transmission replaced. 5/13/15-5/15/15 no power steering, abs and no 4 wheel drive available dashboard lights on. no email from jeep stating lights on. email from jeep had been automatically sent at time engine light was activated. when service person was informed he said it was because battery had been disconnected for transmission work and i'd have to reload app. service center states no history of dashboard lights on but did have history of a loss of communication. this is why the car had stopped email notification to me. the car no longer is communicating with it's programmed computerized parts ie; it's doing whatever it wants. 5/14/2015 contacted jeep given case mngr[xxx]contact number 1-800-763-8422 ext [xxx], email [email protected] case#[xxx]. I had just descended in center city heavily congested traffic from the entrance pass. about a 2000 foot decent. i was entering a traffic circle and slowed for traffic, pushing down on the brake pedal, it kicked back at me with substantial force. the pedal the went to the floor board. i had no brakes, and drove into the curb to stop the car. the jeep has no emergency brake system only an electronic park brake. i found the same problem 2 months before ( at 1200 miles) when the transmission overheated and shut down all power, and left me with no steering or brakes on a narrow mountain road, and almost go me killed.( diagnosed by repairing dealer as a "defectively manufactured transmission" and replaced it). i had jeep towed to nearest dealer. he could do nothing for that day. called, next day, he said the problem was a "defective power brake booster", maybe have the part and repair done in a week. second time hotel and cab home ( now at $800) on me. big too bad, nothing we can do from chrysler. the repairing dealer returned the jeep on 27th. selling dealer called to say all was perfect.picked up and drove 50 miles the transmission began to howl like a banchee. dealer diagnosed problem as a " defective transmission mount". same dealer just replace the transmission 2 months ago. still waiting for car to be repaired and returned. the 2015 jeep cherokee is a dangerous and life threatening engineered vehicle. chrysler can not have any form of quality control, if 3 major components fail within 2600 miles as "defectively manufactured". the zf 9 speed transmission is a disaster and causing problems everywhere. the chrysler corporation and dealer network is corrupt, non trustworthy, untruthfully, and noncareing from the top down. i would never recommend or buy anything from chrysler again and would give most anything to get my money back. *tr
The vehicle was in park and started. all of the vehicle warning displays turned on including the check engine. this vehicle is practically brand new and this should not happen. i also had similar problems with a 2011 model. vehicle sensors are also giving erroneous readings. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. when the ignition was turned to the on position, the vehicle would not shift out of park. the contact stated that the brake lights illuminated without the brake pedal being depressed. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the diagnosis was unknown. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer as made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 2,500.
I have owned this 2015 jeep cherokee since december 2014. the transmission had to be replaced @ 1890 miles, car stopped dead trying to pass a truck on steep grade, overheated transmission. the power brake master booster had to be replaced twice, @ 2490 miles and 4920 miles, no brakes just crash into nearest curb or car, part and system failure. the transmission mounts had to be replaced @ 2560 miles, car howling like a banchee, parts failure. the software had to be changed 3 times, "trying to solve factory problem". warning lights for check engine and battery came on and car shuttered and came to abrupt stop, in the middle of a dangerous curve, with all system shut down completely @ 4970 miles, currently investigating cause. the car has been with the dealer, in total, more than 45 days, currently at dealer again. this car has left me in life threatening situations 4 times. it appears that when any preprogramed limits are reached, all systems shut down, brakes, steering, everything. you are left totally defenseless and not able to control the vehicle. the jeep has no emergency brake! this is the most unreliable and dangerous vehicle i have ever driven. i have been totally stranded away from home twice, and have yet to recover over $1000.00 in out of pocket expense, transportation, hotel, food, and cabs. the dealer closed at 2pm on a saturday, 280 miles from home, said good by and told me to contact chrysler for assistance, " it wasn't his responsibility". all 2014 and 2015 jeep cherokee should be recalled and taken off the road. this poorly conceived and engineered vehicle is dangerous and will kill many people, if it already has not. the chrysler corporation and its dealers are knowingly selling a faulty and dangerous vehicle to the public.
While braking at 24 miles per hour the car abruptly downshifts and causes the vehicle to accelerate. i have noticed the longer i drive the vehicle, it will happen while i am slowing down at higher speeds at well. i have taken the jeep to the dealership and they have flashed and updated my transmission but they said it was fixed but it was not. it is acting up more than it was before. it is incredibly dangerous to drive this car especially when trying to brake around a curve because it will speed up by itself. *tr
