Problem 1: parked car in garage - went to restart & put in reverse numerous error messages which said cannot engage 4wd, check engine, check transmission; restart and put in reverse again; each time i restarted as instructed and put in reverse transmission jerked hard. started 3 times each time the same response. called dealer who sent 2 mechanics - taken to dealership; car now needs new transmission. problem 2: horn goes off for no apparent reason while driving. does not stop when vehicle shuts off. serviced three times by dealership (computer updates and part). don't know if last fix worked since the car is now disabled due to transmission.
Vehicle in park an idling in very level driveway was being unloaded. on a second exit toward the vehicle it started to move in reverse unoccupied. managed to get in but could not save the door and rear from damage. a hedge caught the door as i tried to stop the vehicle. updated 05/26/16*lj *cn
The vehicle just froze up yesterday 15 feb 2016 . it would not start , the brakes were completely locked up on it. tried and tried to get it to start and it would not. took it in this morning on a flat bed hauler and took it to the dealership at i 77 jeep in ripley wv. they first stated it was the emergency brake , then said it was the battery , but i guess it was me it her of those . so it's still there and no word what cause it. if it had locked up while my wife was driving it it would be a very bad results . the vehicle was stationedare and was in the garage.
On 2 occasions now i have accidentally left the engine running and in gear at a gas station to refuel when i thought i had turned the engine off. it seems if you do not make sure the car is in park, the engine will not turn off. while i appreciate the fact that the engine is very quite, it is very disturbing to me that i may cause an accident if this continues to happen. i would like to see the engine turn off if the key exits the driving compartment as this would keep that from happening.
Severe transmission issues. purchased from mtn. view jeep in ringgold. transmission is making loud popping, shifting extremely hard, hesitates at times when accelerating. been on machine multiple times but nothing shows up on computer. started acting up around 20,000 miles. i am now at 31,000 miles and they are finally going to replace value body in transmission. issue started back in january 2016. only because i finally got a video of transmission issues. dealer is repairing jeep, but i have to pay for a loaner car. not good service from jeep.
Back window broke. no idea where it came from or how it started as i was sitting in my home and the car was parked outside. the car is not even a year old. two holes on the sides of the back window at first. the window was cracked across the window, could still hear it cracking when i saw. then the next morning the top half of the window was cracked. is this a defect?
We own the 2015 jeep cherokee sport that self accelerates with great force and also has horrible lagging issues taking off from a stop. the lack of acceleration which happens randomly is very scary! i have taken my jeep in several times which in most cases it is rarely driven and given back to me with barely any miles driven on it to have the problems present themselves. our jeep has been in for weeks at a time. started lemon law but because the jeep dealership hasn't recreated the problem (due to car sitting parked in their parking lot), jeep will not acknowledge the very frightening problems. these alarming issues have not been resolved even with extended amounts of time at dealership in service department (5 days, 10 days, etc). very scary!!!
We purchased our 2015 jeep cherokee new and within a few months of driving the jeep we started to notice what i would call horrible lag issues. the car would drive jerky and when the car was at a stop and you applied the gas to go, it would seem like it wasn't getting the gas and will have a hard time accelerating. we took the car in and they detected the problem and said they did a computer update. shortly after, the jeep started a very scary self acceleration where the car would accelerate on its own and take off without applying gas or having foot on gas pedal. the jeep would lunge so violently and it was hard to make it stop and tried to lunge thru the braking. i have taken the car back it several times as both of these issues happen and makes it very dangerous to drive. my daughter was almost in a horrible collision with a large truck and rear ended because the car was lagging so bad making a right hand turn from a red light. thankfully the truck was able to swerve around us and we didn't get hit. we initiated the lemon law on this jeep as it is too dangerous to drive. the jeep has been in for servicing many times and the problem has still not been resolved. i have googled this online and found other jeep owners with exact frightening concerns. very upsetting and dangerous. i have the documentation for all the times the car has been to service for this and they understand the problem and said they have other jeeps with same concerns.
When u pull off you feel a shake or vibration for the first 15 second then it drives normal i have took it to the dealer ever since i purchase the vehicle in it still not fix im very unhappy with this problem i brought it back to the guys who sold it to me the next day in they told me that how it suppose drive its a new car it didn't sit well with me so i brought back in one of the mechanic said they feel what i'm talking about they will see what they can do in still no good out come
Side view mirrors' placement blocks visibility particularly while maneuvering in parking lots created several close calls. mirror should be mounted higher to eliminate vision blockage while improving visibility.
Initially car shuttered when coming to a stop and was downshifting. the engine start/stop malfunction light illuminated and the service engine mil came on as well. from then on the car behaved as though it was stuck in 3rd gear causing a total lack of torque/power when accelerating from stops, and the engine rpms were going extremely high and the car wouldn't shift. even tried using the "manual shift" feature but the car indicated it was shifting gears, but the rpms did not change, nor could you feel the car shift. when accelerating from a stopped position there was no power and the car crawled/struggled to get moving forward. was almost t-boned trying to turn across oncoming traffic to get to a parking lot so i could stop. once i pulled into the parking lot car would not go into reverse. i put it in reverse, but the car wouldn't go. turned the car off and then on and everything seemed to reset except mil and car started bevaing normally. i took the car to the dealership and they "reflashed" the pcm, tcm, and bcm. 1 day later the car shutters when down shifting and error lights come on. loses power, and 50% of the time seems like it is not shifting gears. 25% of the time won't go into reverse. car behaves normally after restarting though the mil indicator light remains on. usually around 10 miles later the whole series of malfunction starts again, always when the car is downshifting before a stop. just dropped the car off to the dealer and they are having their transmission specialist look at it. when i dropped it off it was giving the same error code, "improbable error" from the tcm/pcm. the lack of power to accelerate and inability to go into reverse makes this car simply unsafe to drive when the errors occur. attaching first repair invoice from the tcm/pcm/bcm reflash. waiting to hear what the transmission specialist says.
I did the recall orc module software on my vehicle now i got a recall on th radio security vulnerabliliey the dealer in my town says this is the same recall, is it?
Tuesday while driving the vehicle making a left turn onto a busy 4 lane hwy the jeep attempted to stall with dinging noises like warning lights should come on nothing appeared, wednesday while driving after making a right turn the jeep just shut down immediately with the battery warning light on stating "to shift you must begin in park" on the dash - couldn't move the vehicle at all nor would it restart for over 15 minutes. finally got the jeep started, continued on my route with it lurching forward and surging - mind you an infant was the back seat both times occurrences. we both could have been seriously injured or worse if another vehicle would have been close either time. called the dealership they informed me to drop it off so i dropped it off wednesday morning with it yet to be looked at after being there for 36 hrs with no hope in site of when it will be. this is a serious issue.
Driving on highway & dashboard starts flashing, had to pull over and message stated to service transmission. car has less than 15 k miles, took it in dealer indicated it was fixed, same day on the way home from dealer on highway it happened again
While driving 60 mph i lost power to the vehicle. i was able to safely coast to the side of the freeway. several errors popped up including service transmission, service 4wd, service parking break. after sitting on side of road i restarted car and errors cleared. this has been happening several times and taken to dealer 4 times. this is a very dangerous situation and i have been put in very dangerous situations.
Was traveling to work and there was a car ahead of me. this person had out of state plates and was not paying attention, speeding up and then slowing down several time. the person behind me and passed both of us. in fact he was the one the i ran into. then when i approached the next town to get on the 4 lane, there is a turn off that everyone uses to get to the school. i don't remember what happened to the green out of state car, i think he did a quick left turn in front of me, and then i hit the guy that passed both of us. he was stopped waiting for the car ahead of him to turn. needless to say, i was charged with failing to stop in an assured clear distance. the sun was bright and i seen no brake or turn signals. the front end of my 10 day old vehicle sustained over 8600 dollars in damage so far. my concern is why did the air bags not go off at 50 mph when i hit the back of his 2012 buick? i was taken by ambulance to be checked out as the seat belt hurt my chest and possible broken finger. later that night i returned to the hospital for a head ct and chest xray for dizziness and headaches. i still have head aches when i bend over and will most likely consult my doctor for possible whip lash. the other driver was not hurt, but was told his vehicle was going to be total loss. we just bought this and now i am concerned about safety! both the adjustor and i were concerned why they didn't deploy. the whole front end of my vehicle is destroyed. from bumper back to radiator, which was destroyed.
When i start the car in the morning stationary, the car leaps forward and then the car rocks back and forth. ive complained about this before but dealer could not replicate issue since the issue usually only occurs when engine is cold. also, transmission slips and revs when in motion changing speeds using cruise control. the jeep has always done this since ive owned it.
We towed the jeep behind our rv using a roadmaster tow bar. after having traveled 10 miles at appropriate highway speeds, we slowed down in a construction zone that required all traffic to continue in the far right lane. the new lane crossed over the edge of the highway pavement on to the recessed skirt of the shoulder, about a 2 inch drop. at that time our rv began to rock, alerting us to the possibility that we had blown a tire. while assessing the situation we saw in our rear camera that the jeep was rocking violently, which was also witnessed by the chp officer that followed us to safety.the tires were fine, but the jeep's violent rocking was enough to scatter the contents of the car. we detached the jeep with a great deal of difficulty after the amount of twisting that occurred during the bouncing. the check engine light was also activated. we were able to drive the jeep to an area that allowed us to re-attach the tow gear and continue to our destination.
The car has a toxic internal smell. it clings to you for hours after leaving the car and has remained on clothing and baby toys left in the car. i bought the car new and as i have driven the car the smell had become worse and worse. the dealership acknowledged the smell and said it was from factory stickers under the car. jeep paid to have the stickers removed over three weeks ago. the car smell is not dissipating. i place my one year old son in the car and i am terrified of the effect the chemical smell may be having on him. the dealership has said i have to just wait for the smell to go away. it is not health and beyond any toxic smell i have ever experienced. this is the only car i have access to drive and have no choice but to place my son in it.
Jeep cherokee trailhawk, 2015. this has been an ongoing problem, since shortly after purchase 8/10/15. this happens when driving. sometimes highway sometimes county road. when jeep shifts there is a significant "jerk" that can be felt. similar to whiplash. no specific time or place that it happens. just at random times. have had this in to dealership 3 times. one time they did software update. did not solve problem. the next two visits the technician said they did not experience any problems during test drive. it seems to be a transmission problem. that is main problem--but there is also a problem with the radio. when on am, it sounds as if there is someone inside the radio hammering with a hammer. again, dealer did not experience this problem while driving.
Accelerates with application of brake while in motion turning. vehicle accelerates on its own accord, while in motion. stalled while moving forward in traffic. forward lunging. motor runs very rough. transmission shifts roughly. manual shift does not allow for manual shifting. mileage 16/18 city 22/24 highway which is below ad limits of up to 30mpg. this was a major purchasing point for us. motor whines on passenger side. smell burning anti-freeze. a/c blows only hot air. floor fan on passenger side and rear seat fan barely operate or are non-functional. driver and passenger seats along with visors threads falling apart (seats to be replaced if they ever come in, it has been three (3) months waiting for parts). seal above rear hatch falling off - replaced and fell off again. radio has very poor reception. no cd or dvd player. inside of jeep trailhawk sounds like a city bus - everything sounds loose - this developed after the entire vehicle had been taken apart for numerous repairs. this vehicle is one lunge away from seriously injuring or worse, one or more parties.
This is a newly leased vehicle. after driving at 65 mph for about 20 minutes and then stopping, a burning smell was observed. after opening hood, smoke was rising from behind the engine, but no fire. oil was observed leaking underneath the vehicle and engine oil level had dropped below the recommended level. oil was leaking onto the skid plate and exhaust which caused the smoke. vehicle was driven back to the dealer for repairs. dealer stated the oil pan seal was leaking and replaced the seal immediately at no charge to me.
Shifting with the vehicle or accelerating often has unexpected results. shifting from reverse or park to drive results in lunging forward with increased speed. shift from reverse to park or park to reverse can experience forward lunging. pressing the gas, or even attempting rapid speed increase, can result in an unresponsive vehicle - no movement forward, high revs and significant rpms. after several seconds a rapid "catch" occurs and an uncontrolled jerking lunge forward.
My car hesitates when going from a slow speed to accelerating. by the time the engine "catches up", the car lunges forward and the rpms go all the way up. to passengers, it feels like i don't know how to gradually accelerate or shift. (my car is an automatic.) also, the more dangerous issue which has put me in several close calls to getting hit by oncoming traffic, my car will not move when i accelerate from a stop. (this is unrelated to my auto shut off). these issues happen randomly. when i let off the brake and hit the gas, it slowly rolls forward (into oncoming traffic) and then hesitates for 3-5 seconds not moving. it is a scary feeling sitting in the middle of the road with traffic coming at you and you can't do anything but push harder on the pedal and hope that it kicks in. i mentioned this to the dealership and they said this was normal on all new cars because the computers need time to process.
I was turning at a busy intersection outside of dc when it appeared that my engine completely shut off and i was coasting. i pressed on the gas but the car went nowhere. after a few seconds, it kicked back on and sped up to 50mph. thankfully no one was behind me or i could have gotten rear ended. three days later, my husband was driving my car on the highway (going at least 65mph) when the malfunction indicator light appeared and the rpm's were well over 5,000 when slowing down to only 30 mph. the car was not shifting properly and we had to pull over. unfortunately we were four hours from home and had to "manually" shift the entire drive home because the automatic transmission was not functioning. we took it to a dealership and they performed the software update and insisted that it was fixed. my husband demanded they drive it for a longer distance and sure enough, the car broke down and was taken back to the dealership. they ended up replacing the transmission and i just picked up my car yesterday (8/24). i still notice it jerking back when i press on the gas after coming to a stop and not shifting properly. i feel so unsafe in this car and none of the jeep employees (at my local dealership and corporate) seem to be concerned. i live in the city and cannot afford to have my car breakdown in the middle of the road or have the transmission stop working like before. it took 3 weeks of being serviced and i still don't think that it's fixed properly.
Is the engine start/stop system dangerous? i think so. when i pull into parking spaces and begin to shut down the car (shift into park, go to push the engine stop button), the ess system activates. by "activates," i mean that the car turns over. this does not happen every time, but it happens often enough. in one example, i pulled into a parking space and my passenger was moving faster than me, and as he was getting out of the car, the engine turned over as if to start (but it was already started). some kind of signal is being sent from the ess system, which has no consistent behavior, so you have no idea if it is working or not. i believe nhtsa needs to look into how the ess system functions in normal daily car use. this behavior has occurred since i bought the car new. in another instance, the behavior was the same, except i did not have a passenger trying to get out of the car.
While following the owners manual for flat towing behind a motor home i crossed multiple railroad tracks at a grade crossing and the cherokee tow vehicle began a violent oscillation that shook the entire motor home and did not stop until the vehicles came to a complete stop.
Bought a 2015 jeep cheroke in march and have had transmission issue since day one. the transmission slams into gear when accelerating and downshifts hard and pushes the vehicle forward on deceleration. i have 5,000 miles on my "new" $35,000 vehicle and i'm on transmission number two. every time i drive this vehicle i wonder if the transmission will stop again and leave me stranded, or worse, cause me to get into an accident. many times when accelerating, there is a pause without any movement and then the transmission grabs and the vehicle lunges forward. this has happened merging onto the thruway as well. i was trying to accelerate to merge with traffic driving 65 mph and nothing was happening as i pushed on the gas pedal. then all of a sudden it kicks in with a loud thud. i worry when it snows that this will make the tires spin to much and i will lose control.
Mine is 2015 new jeep cherokee v6 limited model. the problems mainly lie in the zf 9 speed transmission. 1) experienced front end wobbling when shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd gear accelerating at 1750 rpm to 2000. the vibration happens most frequent when starting from uphill. 2) the vehicle will accelerate on its own even without gas pedal engaged when down shifting from 4th to 3rd or lower gear, causing significant safety issues.
The vehicle was stationary .the water from the air condition condensate line runs on a pan which in turn over flows over the side of the pan running on to the exhaust steaming up under the car into the engine compartment and the steel above the exhaust.
I have taken my 2015 jeep cherokee into the service department for a 3rd time to have them diagnose the hesitation in the transmission, jerking into gear, and the wobble experience when turning to the right. according to the dealership, they have a technician from chrysler coming to look at it. they are not allowed to touch it. my case manager with chrysler even admitted to the wobble problem and that they have no fix for it. the 2nd time i brought it in, the check engine light came on after i got stranded in on coming traffic. towed to the dealership where they found a coolant leak, fuel injector malfunction, etc. and told me the wobble is a "characteristic" of the model and they cannot do anything about the design of the vehicle. as if that's acceptable to force your customer to drive a wobbling, hesitating brand new car. i am dumbfounded with how the dealerships & chrysler keep sweeping this issue under the rug hoping it will go away. they haven't figured it out in two years. its time to issue recalls. what does it take to get them to do something? will they wait til someone is seriously injured or killed? all they seem to care about is money and not admitting their product is a lemon. try number 3 better fix this.
Dealership that replaced my transmission on 05/26/2015 informed me that i need new front axles. my jeep is brand new. a 2015. the new front axles won't be available un maybe september of 2015.
My check engine light came on at the 5,000 mile mark. turner out i needed a new transmission. the dealership installed one for me and ever since i got it back it's not the same. makes loud noises when i turn it on, and sometimes it doesn't even want to start. also, when i push on my brakes my vehicle jerks back when i come to a stop.
Car transmission failed, causing us to get hit numerous times. can not accelerate when necessary, sometimes it will go fine and other times gas pedal floored and go no where.
I went out to start my car at around 8:40am on may 28. when i pushed the button to start it, i heard a pop followed by smoke. i thought maybe something was under the car so i backed up the car approximately 2 feet and then turned it off. i went inside to get my husband, he came out and opened the hood and i tried to start it again. it started right up but there immediately was smoke and fire coming from the front of the car on the passenger side. i turned the car right off after maybe 5 or 6 seconds. i had a meeting to get to so i left in my husband's car. when i got to work, a retired fire fighter suggested that i call the norwich township fire department. brian beach came to inspect the car. because of all of the plastic coverings, it was very hard to see anything that was wrong other than melted plastic fittings. i had the car towed (at my expense) to byers on hamilton road. today, i spoke with the service manager, ron brown, who said that he didn't think that the car caught on fire. he feels that the tensioner belt broke and that is why i smelled burned rubber and there was so much smoke. either way, this is a brand new car and shouldn't be having any issues.
Vehicle has noticeable front end shimmy in low gear that only goes away after shifting to second gear. dealer has no fix at this time.
The jeep has a wobble or shimmy between 11 and 17 mph that is very significant. seems to happen after the jeep has been driven and is warmed up. i have 3200 miles on this vehicle and this problem was noticed when the jeep had about 500 miles on it. i am being told its the front axle shafts that are supposedly on order. however, i am also being told it could weeks to months to get the parts in.
While driving, the navigation system failed, leaving only the arrow pointing in my direction of travel. this continued for over three hours. when stopped for lunch, i returned to vehicle and when i restarted the navigation system returned to normal. i took the car into the dealer who said that the current radio/navigation system had two software updates due. they were installed, completely locking up the radio/navigation system. the dealer took over three hours to correct problem with their top computer person. the vehicle was never the same. the backup camera failed, the dashboard display would lock out and other electronic malfunctions plagued the vehicle. the whole radio/navigation system was finally replaced after three months of trial and error. at this time, the vehicle seems to be functioning properly. however, one employee at the dealer told me this. jeep has at times been installing refurbished radio/navigation systems in their new vehicles when they run short of new parts. this could explain why the software updates were not compatible with the older radio/navigation system. how can a manufacturer install refurbished parts into a new vehicle? to me, this is not only a safety issue but a consumer fraud issue.
Purchased a 2015 jeep cherokee latitude 4x4 on 2/28/2015. started having issues with the transmission hesitating and jerking into gear. took it to the dealership on 5/1/2015 and was informed that there is a computer glitch that the manufacturer is aware of, but there is no fix for it. they say its safe to drive. on 5/7/2015 i almost got t-boned because the transmission wouldn't shift pulling out of a parking lot into traffic. it finally jerked into gear but continued to jerk and would not go over 25mph and my check engine light and errors came on about the start/stop function. the dealership towed my car and i am using a loaner. they have no idea how to fix it. the 2015 jeep cherokee's are completely unsafe to drive! spent over $30,000 on a vehicle that i can't safely drive.
I was driving to work and car started to die. i was driving around 30 mph and car started to slow down. i came to the point where i was was ready to take a left turn so started to turn but the car died and an oncoming car almost hit me.
Vehicle started displaying malfunction indicator light (mil) & had error codes u0402 & u1424. dealer where i bought the vehicle performed recall r01 - flash of tcm & pcm (took about 3 hours). in june, i received notice of recall r05, which i had performed & also advised dealership of mil light ( same error codes u0402 &u1424). dealer performed r05 service & cleared error codes & advised i should have no further issues. july 2, the mil & the start/stop error light came on. this was approximately 11, 800 miles. the lights went off after multiple drive cycles over 4 days, but came back on monday. i called a local jeep dealership & got an appointment for saturday, 7/11/15. between monday & the appointment, the mil & start/stop error lights went off and came back on after multiple drive cycles. this happened 5 times between 7/2 & 7/11. each time, the error codes were u0402 and u1424. the dealer could not see that the tcm & pcm flashes had been done, so they were done again (almost 3 hours to complete). i was advised this should resolve the issue. several drive cycles & 2 days later, the same 2 lights are back on with the same 2 error codes & i have to take it back for the 4th time for the same malfunction error codes. since this is transmission-related, i have concerns about the safety of my vehicle at this point.
My husband and i bought a brand new 2015 jeep cherokee trailhawk. 2 weeks after owning our brand new car that we purchased because we were expecting a baby and wanted to have a safe reliable vehicle we started having shifting problems and electrical issues. we brought in the vehicle multiple times (4 times) and although we were told that it might be transmission related issues but then as soon as chrysler got involved we were told our vehicle is perfectly fine. nothing was ever fixed until my husband and i went to a different dealership. the new dealership fixed the electrical problems but said everything with the transmission is normal. the car makes shudder motions, sometimes it does not accelerate as i'm trying to get onto the freeway and it shifts very jerky. we have owned a jeep before which did not do that. we are so disappointment how chrysler is responding to known transmission problems and not doing any recalls on transmission related issues. we bought this vehicle because we wanted a safe vehicle for the family. however, after the latest tcm update the shifting has gotten worse and it doesn't feel safe to drive the vehicle yet chrysler won't do anything as we are being told this is normal.
Vehicle shakes / wobbles when accelerating from a dead stop. the passenger side front tire actually feels loose until approximately 30 mph. also, when turning right and / or going up an incline, the front end shakes and the vehicle hesitates. jeep acknowledges that this is an issue and they are redesigning the front axles with a sturdier design. the issue is that the repair is not available for several months at least, because it's still in development. there is a real concern that the axle could fail and cause an accident.
Since i bought the car the transmission shifted very rough. the car surged forward when slowing down. when stopped and starting to move forward the car jumped forward on a consistent basis. i took to dealer, they said i was not used to driving an suv. approximately a month later ( transmission getting worse) the check engine light came on. took to dealer( towne chrysler jeep in hamburg ny), said nothing wrong with it. picked it up and 30 minutes later check engine light came back on. took it back to the dealer, they said could be some software problem. picked the vehicle up again. check engine light came back on within a few hours. i thought it might have been the dealer, so i took it to another jeep dealership. i dropped the car off rented a car. when enterprise picked me the agent told me that he had at least 10 people that week with jeep cherokee and transmission problems( from 1 dealership). i googled the problem and found out that thousands of jeep owners were experiencing the same problem with the 9 speed transmission. today they put a new transmission in my 4 month old car. these cars are dangerous when they jump forward even with your foot on the brake. the transmission does not shift when trying to excellerate. it is just a matter of time before someone gets killed driving these cars.
The 9 speed transmission on the jeep is horrible. my car jerks, slips and stalls when you start in first gear. every time i stop and begin to accelerate the car jerks. it is horrible and there is no fix for it.
When reducing speed once at about 35mph the vehicle wants to accelerate. vehicle was in the shop from jan. 20th 2015 feb. 6th 2015. dealership replaced transmission and fixed the problem. i was not able to list the dates up top so i will list everything here. april 29th 2015 to april 30th 2015 vehicle had a recall. recall #r05. july 13th - july 28th had a problem with gas. everytime i would get gas within 20 miles it would drop a quarter of a tank. dealership replaced fuel pump and tested it. also another recall. recall #r40. june 1st - june 2nd i advised the dealership vehicle goes through a quarter tank of gas within 20 miles. they looked at it and couldn't find a problem. also on this date they performed a flash update for powertrain control module. on july 31st my fiancee came to pick me up at 3pm after work and i got a call from her stating the vehicle stopped running. she had our newborn baby along side of the road in 90 degree weather waiting for a family member to pick her up. i got a ride to our broken down vehicle and called a tow truck. tow truck came and took us to dealership. i waited for the results and they had no idea why it had died so they gave me a rental until the next day. august 1st recieved call from dealership saying it was a faulty fuel pump they had installed just a few days before. my vehicle was in service for this from july 31st - august 4th. the problems add up now i have another recall for the power liftgate control module, recall #r27 as i cannot get this recall fixed yet because i was told by dealership they havent started manufacturing the parts yet. lastly, last week i went to start vehicle and it would not start. took a few times and had to give it gas for it to start. today sept. 7th 2015 vehicle would not start. had to get it jumped and going to call dealership tomorrow to get this checked out.
Car does not accelerate when pushing on gas, gets stuck in gear and then when it finally fins the right gear the whole vehicle bucks. reported the problem in january, was told to wait for the recall update, which didn't happen until june. have brought the vehicle in 2 more times for the same problem. this problem has caused me to almost be in a number or accidents when trying to merge on to highways or pass someone on the highway. in another incident my sunroof exploded from the inside out while driving on the highway and jeep is refusing to cover it under warranty even though nothing hit the vehicle and there are other reports online of this happening.

I bought the car mid october 2014 and began noticing it did not shift properly - would "hang up" in lower gear when it should shift. took it to the dealership (mileage aprx 2,500) which said it was "throwing codes" so they adjusted the transmission. this still did not correct the issue so i took it back and they said they could find nothing wrong but did make a minor adjustment but the problem continued to get worse. at aprx 5,700 miles they put a new transmission in the vehicle (probably may 2015). in june, the vehicle began to falter when it was trying to shift and while driving (happens at any speed) and, while sitting at stop lights it would surge forward with my foot on the brake. the dealership has adjusted it twice since then. the dealership has offered to sell the car at auction for me and jeep wants to send in a "star repair" team to work on the vehicle some more. i have had this car already worked on 5 times and no one has a clue of what to do to repair it. it is dangerous in that when you pull into traffic and the car falters/stalls out it can create a potential wreck or when it the engine surges on its own a risk of running into something exists. i don't think selling it at auction just to pass the problem on to someone else or "hanging parts" on it in hopes they can fix the problem is the answer. the car now has 10,600 miles on it; has not been abused and still does not run properly or safely. i think this vehicle is a lemon and both jeep and the dealership do not want to take responsibility for a faulty product that is dangerous to drive
I purchased a 2015 cherokee sport in october 2014. since then i have noted several recurring problems. having never owned a brand new i thought perhaps there was some early mile growing pains but these problems persist. the screen malfunctions at will; sometime the rear camera is engaged when driving forward, the screen locks on the disclosure/acceptance page. voice recognition/command has never worked. unintended acceleration when at a complete stop (reminds me of an unruly dog on a leash trying to leap forward). delayed acceleration when the gas pedal is depressed causing it to suddenly leap into motion risking hitting a car in front of you in city traffic (i live in los angeles ? this is particularly concerning) or a wall behind you (i back into my parking space). when parallel parking or in a 3 point scenario (d-r-d) the car, although clearly placed in the reverse the car will roll forward before reversing. often putting the car in reverse, waiting several seconds (4 to 5) before releasing the break will do the trick but just as often, it makes no difference. gear transitions are sloppy. this car does not shift it lunges. i'm surprised the [xxx] thing doesn't bite although it tries. i thought these were my pet peeves but it appears i am not alone. i wish i had read these earlier complaints. i would have returned it to post haste. i hate this car but am not in the financial position to buy another. purchased from a dealer 50 miles away (best price) has made it difficult to take into the dealership. i have finally scheduled 2-days off from work to take it in. i wish i was in the position to not just drop it off but leave it there. if i had the money i would not hesitate. *tr information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
