My fiancee purchased a 2015 jeep cherokee suv 4x4 (certified pre-owned w/ additional, extended warranty) one (1) month ago almost to the day of this incident report. while she was driving the vehicle very early in the morning (approximately 5-5:30am), the car became non-functional and the instrument cluster flickered with warning lights appearing. the car was in motion when this occurred with no outside forces or factors to cause this to happen. the engine completely shut off and the car stalled immediately, while still moving. the electrical was on and display worked, however; the car would not go at all. the car behind her had to slam on their brakes and luckily no accident occurred. had it been any later in the day or on a busy, major highway; i fear it would have been much worse. we have now brought it to a dealership for diagnosis and they cannot get to the car for at least two (2) weeks with no loaner cars available. we were advised to call jeep directly and go over the situation and they offered no help at all but to *potentially* reimburse rental costs while the car would be repaired (much later after the rental needs to be paid). this is our second jeep and i am absolutely dissatisfied with this as this could have cost my fiancee her life and the life of others. we now do not know the best path forward and are trying to figure out a solution to either repair or replace the vehicle. maybe legal action is required. for being "certified pre-owned" the level of trust has definitely been reduced if not lost completely. i hope this gets resolved soon and that jeep really understands the severity of the issue. if a recall is necessary to prevent injury or death, please fix this and make it right. people buy these cars to be your customers - don't do wrong by them and risk their lives to prevent spending towards the resolution of a common problem.
While being towed behind motorhome, the front "load beams" on jeep came apart. luckily, this did not occur on highway at high speeds as it could have caused serious accident.
I purchased a 2015 jeep cherokee latitude september 2018 with 64,000 miles on it. when driving vehicle on the street, the vehicle will jerk really hard like it is changing gears. if i am putting vehicle in reverse and leaving out of my drive way, the vehicle jerks. whenever i am driving at a low speed (0-45mph) the vehicle jerks. when coming to a complete stop, like a stop sign, red light, or heavy traffic, vehicle jerks once i accelerate. i took my vehicle to dealer to be serviced on november 3, 2018 regarding this issue and i was told they found no problems but there was an update (rrt) completed on vehicle. i took my vehicle back to dealership on saturday, november 17, 2018 for electrical component services and complained about the same issue and was told vehicle is not showing any problems but my thermostat needed replacing due to thermostat rationality code. i scheduled an appointment for a future date to the service. also had low beam headlight fixed was told the bulb didn't need replacing that somehow it came unscrewed. headlight was working before i left, later on that day headlight went out again. i live in houston where the temps re now in the 50s highs 60s and i had my heater on, all of a sudden i started to smell smoke like oil smoke. but i don't have any lights coming on on my dashboard. can you please tell why is my automatic vehicle driving like it's manual and with it only having 1 previous owner that all of these things are happening???
Since i bought my jeep in august 2016 and since i've gotten it the message 'service shifter' pops up on my screen. i've taken it back to the dealership numerous times and they can't find anything wrong with it. it's gotten to the point now the message pops up every other day. i have a son and i do not want something malfunctioning while i'm driving down the road putting my family's life in danger! this needs to be fixed.
Service shifter, vehicle tries to shift into park while driving.
The vehicle has repeatedly come up with a "service shifter" message since i purchased it in dec of 2015 new. the dealership replaced the shifter assembly, but the problem kept happening. they kept flashing the software and telling me it was fine. at the end of july 2018, i took my vehicle in for an oil change and to have the headlight researched because it had begun to flicker along with one of the two license plate lights. the dealership told me that the headlight and the lisence plate lights went out at the same time by coincidence. i tried to contact jeep/chrysler directly and explain there was a bigger problem but they wouldnt listen. days later, i stopped for gas, shut off the car and filled the tank. when i got back in the car wouldnt start. i kept trying to turn it on but it wouldnt make a sound. finally, after about 25 minutes the car turned on. once on, error messages light up my dash: service shifter, service parking break, service engine, service transmission, and others. i tried to shift into gear but it shifted hard and sounded like the transmission was going to drop. the car wouldnt move. towed the car to dewey dodge. they flashed it, told me it was fine, and made me come get it and wouldnt look further. 24 hours later, i was stranded again, car wouldnt start. towed it again. they told me it was the battery, even though they had previously told me they did a 27pt inspection and it was fine a day prior... they had my car for 2 months. once i got it back, i had it for only a few days and i was stuck again. after about 30 minutes the car turned on, and i was able to try to drive home. while on highway, service shifter appeared again. dewey replaces the wiring harness and the shifter again. chrysler refuses to acknowledge a widespread issue even though multiple online forums have a collection of people detailing the same problems!
Car was in my driveway parked for about 3 hours when my neighbor heard a loud explosion looked out and seen that my car was on fire she then called 911 and came an woke us up to get us out of the home. we all made it out safely as the car kept exploding 3 more times car was a loss and home was damaged the car at the time of the fire as we was trying to put it out with water hoses the windshield whippers was going headlights was flashing horn was honking doors was locking and unlocking the car was setting in my driveway with no keys in it and windowls up and locked only had this car 5 months. bought it 02/24/18
While in motion, the vehicle shuts off without warning. a message on the dash says put the car in park to start. the car consumes large amounts of synthetic oil, which should last up to 6 months but only lasts between 700-1000 miles per quart. the oil light does not come on indicating that the oil is low. it flashes across the screen too fast for the driver to see the warning. when the oil is low, the car begins to shut itself off while in motion. this has happened while driving at both high and low rates of speed on city streets and a highway during rush our traffic, nearly causing a collision with vehicles behind me.
When jeep is running it makes a loud sound, you can hear it inside the car, at 10 mph is sounds like raaa raaa raaa raaaa, at 20 mph it sounds like ra ra ra ra ra , at 60 mph it sounds like rarararararararararararararararararararararararararara. sounds like it's coming from under the car, a rotating sound that just gets louder as you drive faster. we could never use this car for a trip, we would be deaf by the time we got back. we thought it might go away if we got new tires, had firestone at & we bought michelin defender ltx due to low noise of tire. no luck, noise is still there. we go to dealer for all service & are told its a jeep thing, really? this should not be allowed, please look into it as we are slowly losing our hearing. it started making this noise in 2015, bought in january 2015 and continues to this very day, july 16, 2028. i hate this car & for $40,000 it should be a heck of a lot better. and this was our 2nd jeep, we had a 2001 without one problem for 12 years.
My vehicle has begun stalling, with no warning. while sitting at a stop sign or traffic light or in slow traffic. it has stalled once on a busy freeway during rush hour. the first occurence was friday 7/13 at a stop sign just shortly after starting to drive; the next saturday 7/14 at a stop sign after having driven approximately 17miles on a freeway. this time it was difficult to start and the gear shift would not move. then wednesday 7/18 i don't recall the conditions. then on friday july 20 it stopped while i was driving in heavy traffic on the freeway during rush hour. the issue continues. there seems to be no pattern - has happened when first starting the vehicle, after having driven for several miles - so is not a "cold" or "hot" engine problem. there are no engine warning lights and no physical warning signs - it just stops. i have taken it to the dealer twice. they have had it for a total of 3 days and say there is nothing wrong with it. this is dangerous if it continues to stall on the freeway in heavy traffic.
Faulty transmission gear shifting
Our jeep feels as though it is bucking/transmission will slip. we have taken it to the dealership only to be told that they can't duplicate the issue or they have did a software upgrade that should fix the problem. it is only a bandaid and decreases the amount it does the bucking but will go back to normal after a few hundred miles. recenlty our screen as well will not turn on for up to 5th minutes of driving and occasionally get a message that says the phone is out of service and to contact dealer. again we contact the dealer only to be told they can not duplicate the issue and nothing can be done. the shifting happens generally when going in between the speeds of 5-35 mph. it's becoming scary to drive as we jerk while in motion.
When i drive out of nowhere the car begins to stall and a notification pops up saying that my battery is dying so the car stops moving and the steering wheel locks up. once stopped then a few words pop up on my car display saying that i have to move the shift from p even though the shift is on d. when i try to shift nothing happens the car still stays the same doesnt move or even rev when i push on the gas pedal. then i turn the car off and when i try to turn it back on it takes a couple seconds for it to finally turn back on as it struggles and then everything is normal again even the battery level is back up to normal even though it was just completely dead prior to starting the car again. whatever is happening to the shifter is draining my battery.
Since vehicle was first purchased in dec 2014, the autostart feature occasionally completely stalls vehicle when stopped at sign, at a traffic light or stopped in heavy transit and will not turn back on to continue trip. i have to turn off key remove key and exit vehicle to reset. i have almost been run over, impacted by other oncoming vehicles on the highway or by vehicles trying to get around me at a light or stop sign. i have reported it several times to dealer whitten bros in richmond va and ashland va but have been ignored and they have refused to document occurrences. and dismissed my allegations. i have had over 12 incidents in the last 3 years in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, in the city, suburbs and highways. my most recent occurrence date is posted below *js updated 9/21/18*jb
The transmission shifts hard and sometimes skips gears. it will shift very late and do a jolt and it feels likes i was hit by another car, gives a slight whiplash feeling to the passengers. sometimes when i go from reverse to drive the back wheels lock up and the back half of the car lowers to the ground while the front of the vehicle rises. the vehicle also sometimes accelerates on its' own when i don't have my foot on the gas. i can be driving at any point around 20-30mph and my rpms will jump to 3000+ and the engine makes loud noises like it is being overworked to go 20 mph and it will stay like that for a good 4-8 seconds. all of these problems have drastically decreased the mpg my car gets. all of these problems are when the car is in motion. the "start/stop" feature also has many problems. if i forget to turn it off i can be at a red light and once it turns green i let go of the brake and go to hit the gas and the car is still in the process of starting back up, takes anywhere between 1-3 seconds to startup. this has almost caused me to get into several accidents. i don't feel safe in this car anymore. it was fine up until about 30,000 miles, but it has gone down hill since then. i am at about 45,000 miles right now.
Automatic, shift moving to standard or neutral
Thermostat needed replaced at 55,000 miles. thermostat problem has been continually reported but yet no recall. some dealerships have a 2 month wait to replace because of such a high demand. transmission warning came on while driving on the interstate. pulled over and turned car off and back on. car seemed fine until i took it over 55mph and it did the same thing. had to pull over again and turn it off and on. car almost stalls in the middle of the interstate. took it the dealership who updated the software. car already not shifting correctly on the ride home.
We purchased this vehicle new from auto nation chrysler jeep & dodge in roseville, california on april 19, 2015, to tow four wheels down behind our motorhome. the dealer stated that this vehicle was ready to tow with a touch of a button. on two occasions we have experienced a severe front wheel wobble while towing the vehicle, luckily at slow speeds down the road. we took it to the dealer to find out what is wrong. we are being told that we now have to have a special wiring harness installed on our vehicle to eliminate the problem. the dealer stated that this is not covered under the warranty and it is at our cost. the cost of this wiring harness and installation is over $700.00. we have complained to the dealer that we should not have to pay for this. the dealer has stated that they have tried to contact chrysler/jeep for an answer. i have contacted the dealer on several occasions for six weeks now, with still no answer. we are now coming up on our traveling time and can not tow our car and go on any trips due to the liability of this situation. we certainly would not have purchased this vehicle having known about this problem. i have also read on the internet that this is a known problem now with this vehicle.please help us get this resolved
This 2015 jeep cherokee has the 2-speed transfer unit, and was sold as flat towable, and manual so states that fact. the manufacturer made the power steering system electric rather than mechanical. in 2017 after many complaints about the cherokee not tracking while being towed behind the motorhome and causing a severe left to right wobble behind the motorhome, jeep issued a revision to the owner's manual (s-13). it states that a flat-tow wiring kit should be installed, but jeep wants the part and labor to install this kit to be paid by the jeep owner, not by the manufacturer. this is a safety issue and should be addressed under a recall. on a straight road this wobble happened twice to me and almost caused me to loose control of my motorhome, not to mention damage to my jeep.
My car keeps disengaging when i'm driving. it feels like it goes into neutral. car read but doesn't feel like there is any connection to make it go. it also jumps or pops when going from reverse to drive. jeep hooked up to the computer and said there aren't any error codes so they can't do anything. it's scary when the car leaves drive. this has happened on city streets when in motion and the reverse to drive when is starting up and when i've been driving it and need to turn around. this has been going on since march 2018. i've brought it to scap jeep twice for the problem
I have a 2015 jeep cherokee latitude and for some reason when it gets cold outside. my car won't start.in the morning when i get up and it's in my drive way i click my car remote to unlock my car and my headlights won't even come on so i have to manually open my door with my key. i turn the key in the ignition and there is no sounds or cranking. the monitor in front of the driver turns on then it shuts off after a while. the lights inside the car turn on but i'm not sure about the radio. there are some days after a few moments it starts and there are other days where it takes hours to start. i don't know what's the issue. this usually happens when it's 30 degrees or lower. sometimes even after work it won't start and i would have to find a ride home leaving it at my job.
I had my 2015 cherokee latitude serviced on12/8/17 and on 12/9/17 i had to go about 30 miles. on my way back home as i accelerated to get up to speed my jeep acted like it wanted to stop. the rpm kept climbing but my jeep slowed down. when i did slow down and i tried accelerating again my car chugged as if it didn't know what to do. i am going to call the dealer when they open to report the issue
My car had 40,343 miles and was in great condition. on november 19, 2017 my car wouldn't start and had the brake light on (which the brake wasn't on), check engine light on, off road light on, and battery low light on. i charged my battery and took it for a test drive. the check engine light came off and break light but the others were still on. the car was driving fine. the next day i went to start my car and it started but was acting awful. it was giving me resistance to change gear, it felt like the brake was on even though it wasn't, and it was scary to drive it. i took it into the shop. they said the computer wasn't reading anything correctly and they hope that putting a new battery will help everything go back to normal. they changed it and it didn't work. they said the ecu and tcm configuration was mismatched and needed to be replaced. i don't think a car that only has 40k miles should have issues with its computer like i did. i spent $1720.61 to fix it and i'm not happy with this situation
***service shifter****the service shifter light continues to come on. i've taken the car in for updates 3x in the past month. during the time the light is on, i feel the car accelerating on its own when driving and reeving when stopped. the continuing updates are costly now that the vehicle is out of factory warranty.
Service shifter light came on and all lights on shifter lit up
Fca's uconnect app for iphone randomly launches on my iphone while inside the vehicle. when it launches, it takes away my ability to see navigation software (e.g. waze, apple maps, on my cell phone. i then need to divert my attention to the phone and disable the uconnect app. sometimes i have to do it more than once. this is distracting and unsafe at any speed.
I just bought the car as a certified pre owned form a dodge dealer. my transmission is already going out . today on the freeway the car accelerated from 65 mph to 75 mph on its own. my foot was not on the accelerator.
Radio/ screen display goes black intermittently. happens while driving or backing up. cant use screen to see what's behind you. not to mention you lose climate control and everything else your screen displays. dealership is replacing these units with remanufactured radios (units)
My gas cap light has been on for 2 years. i apparently am the only one with this issue and have been told there is nothing that can be done as they need a flash to reset the motherboard. in the meantime to rule things out i had to have the vapor test done and replace the gas cap which of course solvee nothing.
Jeep being towed per recreational 4 down instructions front wheels turn inward creating severe vibration of motor home tow vehicle. jeep steering assist modified by dealer. months later upon investigation for cause of tow bar hookup & release discovered broken jeep frame plus other damages. had damages repaired @ authorized jeep dealer body shop. manufacturer declined to reimburse for repair. dealer advised not to drive or tow 4 down damaged jeep.
Faulty engine sensors causes the car stall at anytime. was driving when stopped at a red light my car stalled and the dashboard light up along with multiple error messages. it took 15 times for my car to restart. this issue is a completely unsafe and putting the driver and passengers at great risk. currently my car is in the shop but have read similar stories online saying that this particular problem is associated with a transmission issue. many stated this is known issue at chrysler which they have done nothing to action the consumer.
The 911 button does not work when pressed. get notice saying this.
2015 jeep cherokee latitude 4x4 - when pressing the accelerator at a stop light/sign, it acts as if it is in neutral for a few seconds prior to taking off. it will often jerk hard when it does move as if it is dropping into gear. often times the jerk is hard enough that it will throw me back in the seat and makes a horrid noise. the jerk can happen after stopping or randomly auto shifting while driving down the road. i've kept a diary of logistics (hill, flat surface, winter, summer, rain, dry, slow driving, fast driving, etc...) and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to when it's going to "act up". someone mentioned an o2 sensor? i've had it into the dealer a few times and have been told there's nothing wrong with it, it's normal for this to happen (both the feeling of being in neutral when taking off and the hard jerking when shifting). i worry my transmission is going to fall out of my car when this happens!
My car is 2 years old and has roughly 38,300 miles. the factory warranty is 36,000 miles. i purchased the car at 37,401. the part that is defective is the blower motor which cause the blower motor sensor to go bad. according to the certified jeep mechanic and the jeep customer service rep this part is normally a part that would last the normal service life of the vehicle. i believe the part is either defective. the car was moving when the defect was noticed on the highway going straight.
My 2015 jeep cherokee has had transmission shifting issues for over a year. it shifts really hard (jerks the whole car) and makes a loud thumping noise. i have taken it in multiple times. the dealership reprogrammed the transmission computer but it continued to happen. i have taken it in twice since then and they said the diagnostics show there is nothing wrong, and it does not happen in their test drives, so they cannot do anything about it.
I have recently been noticing two potential issues with my vehicle. 1) on certain occasion the vehicle seems to shift into neutral (as the rpm's rev) and then the transmission catches up a few seconds later shifting into gear. also, 2) on certain occasion the vehicle seems to have a delay in shifting while accelerating onto the highway. while neither of these issues have yet to result in an accident, i am concerned about the safety of the vehicle and those drivers around me. with the considerable attention surrounding these issues with fca vehicles, i wanted to report this complaint to nhtsa directly.
When i start my vehicle and turn on the key my car will accelerate forward with a jolt. sometimes when i stop and start for a light it will quickly move forward and jerk....if i slow down the speed it will excellerate too......
One morning i started the car, i heard water moving from the engine area. while, driving the car i heard a noise's like a pressure cooker sounds. once i arrived at work i walked around to the passage side to retrieve my staff. i could smelled antifreeze. i contacted jeep right away and they contact a tow company. it was drop off. the dealership worked on it for a couple days. they did pressure test for external leak, didn't locate a leak. they didn't do a internal examine. it's 2 year old vehicles already leaking antifreeze. i have my vehicle into the dealership twice but still smell antifreeze. two pressure test later nothing. i just pickup my vehicle for the second time. why is jeep vehicles having so many problem. my psi, transmission and radio making sounds when its off. jeep is a bad vehicle and it just a matter of time, humans might be in damage due to the uncaring manufacturing company that makes lot's of money of the back of working americans.
Jeep cherokee sport, 2015, stalls out while driving. this happens while in motion and coming to a stop or decrease in speed. both highway and city streets. this has happened numerous times over the last 13 months of ownership. taken to dealer for repairs but they can find nothing wrong.
While driving on street car just died and slowly came to stop.very dangerous.tried restarting would not start.unknown what is wrong with car that stops when driving and will not start again right away. after car sitting awhile and a few attempts to start it, it starts again only to stop while driving again.
Takata recall i have had my 2015 jeep cherokee (latitude) for 2yrs now. on saturday 3/11/17, it would not start and the transmission light was on. the gear shift wasn't working either. i called the dealership i bought it from because it is still under warranty, they gave me the number for roadside help to have it towed in, then after several times trying it started, while on the phone with the roadside service dpt. the next week on tue (3/14/17) it would not start again, then suddenly it did. i was close to my job so i thought i could make it, but the gears were stuck and hard to change. while pulling out into traffic the car i couldn't speed up. i could have been in a bad accident because of this car!!!! there should be a recall on this car it is not safe. i'm just glad i had dropped my 4 kids off before this happened. the dealership said it was a glitch in the transmission module, well this is the second week it has been in the shop. they cannot figure out what is wrong with it. while going to get the car seats out of it, there was a lady there with her car (same make & model but 2016) having the same problem she had only 17,000 miles on her car and the transmission went out on it. i think mine has the same problem. my mileage is under 25,000!! this is not right. if the company knows there are numerous complaints about the same issue, then there should be a recall on the car. it's not fair to consumers!!!
Car engine died while stopping at stop sign. was hard to start, but eventully did start. happened two times in same day. took car to dealer to inspect. still there. when it happened we were in the right turn lane and i stopped. then went to go and there was no power at the engine. no warning signs no alerts, all power was on except the engine was dead. the parking lite was on and the message board said park. it said put on brake and put in drive, this didnt help. after trying to start it started and ran fine. this all happended at a busy area and i didnt realiy stop and think and see everything with the traffic blowing their horns. thanks for being there for the consumer
The all weather mats on the jeep trailhawk have a large ridge along the perimeter of the mat. this ridge can create a squeeze point under the gas pedal where the heel of a shoe can be trapped causing the shoe to pull of the foot and interfering with the ability to apply the brakes. this situation occurred with me in stop and go traffic while i was wearing cowboy boots. the heel stuck under the pedal and when i went to apply the brakes my boot partially pulled off of my foot and i was not able to stop causing an accident.
When towing with four wheels down behind motorhome, on two different occasions the jeep will warble uncontrollably. this occurred on trips we made in june and september 2016. understand fca has a remedy but according to dealer i have to pay for the wire harness as well as installation cost?? also reading forums appears fix only allows battery to last for three hours?? this is unacceptable as well as why consumer needs to pay for this remedy. the reason i bought this jeep was for the capability to be towed behind a motorhome (safely driving it off dealerships lot).
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep cherokee. the vehicle was being towed by a 2000 holiday rambler endeavor recreational vehicle. while the rv was driving 55-60 mph, the jeep shimmied violently without warning. the jeep was taken to folsom lake chrysler dodge jeep ram (12545 folsom blvd, folsom, ca 95630 (888) 480-1238) where the diagnosis was unknown. while the cherokee was at the dealer, the contact notified the manufacturer. the manufacturer sent a new wiring harness to the dealer and the jeep was repaired. a year later, while the jeep was being towed by the holiday rambler, the failure recurred. the manufacturer had the cherokee towed to autoworld dodge chrysler jeep ram (1370 auto center dr, petaluma, ca 94952 (707) 762-2712), but the dealer refused to diagnose or repair the vehicle without knowing the repair history. the vehicle was taken back to folsom lake chrysler dodge jeep ram, but the failure could not be duplicated. the contact stated that the jeep cherokee only violently shimmied while being towed. the failure mileage was approximately 14,000. updated 10/17/17*lj the consumer stated the failure occurred after having the harness was replaced. *js
While driving down the road at 50mph with my trailhawk edition jeep, the roof rail bar ripped out of the roof of the car sending my kayak rack and 35 pound kayak down the center of the road. chrysler/jeep states they are not led to believe the incident was a manufacturing responsibility. lives could have been lost. the jeep dealership tried to tell me they found documentation that the rails are not to be used unless they have a manufactured crossbar with a maximum weight of 150 pounds. my kayak rack has a crossbar and the weight of the rack was maybe 15 pounds and the kayak itself was 35 pounds. there was no where in my owners manual that states i cannot use my roof rails. only a safety statement saying nothing should be screwed into my roof for airbag and safety purposes. even with manufactured crossbars they wouldn't be able to screw into my roof so they would not have held my roof rail into the roof. the roof is very thin and there are clear holes where the bar completely ripped out of the roof. if there was a vehicle behind me people could have been very hurt. chrysler sent an investigator to do a report on the vehicle they sent me a one paragraph letter stating they decline any assistance associated with this incident. safety concerns for other people on the road and other jeep owners was not addressed. at the time of the incident i was on a back road going 50 miles an hour with no wind gusts or any reason for this to occur. this incident occurred on august 7 and even though it was reported to the dealership on the eighth i have received no help. i am attaching photos of the kayak safely mounted on the kayak rack the day before the incident and the damages to my car.
2015 jeep cherokee sport - 12k miles - car accelerates after taking foot off of gas pedal. contacted dealership - service manager and was told that this is a known "characteristic" of this vehicle. what? you mean a problem !!! dealership will not do anything. i contacted chrysler and opened a case record with them. this is clearly a safety issue and needs to be address.
Driving on the highway at approx. 70 mph when jeep developed severe hesitation and jerking motion. evasive action taken to avoid an accident to pull off to exit the highway. light indicator on dash board. turned vehicle off then restarted. light remained on dash (not flashing), however, proceeded to see if car is driveable. two more occurrences of same symptom. again, pulled over and did same stop/start and then proceeded. managed to get home. immediately contacted dealership where car was purchased new. currently has 12k on vehicle. following day took car in for inspection and problem determination. was informed that (5) software flashes would be updated on vehicle, one of which was a transmission control module (tcm) flash. drove car home same day. i will need some time driving jeep to see if these software flashes has fixed the problem. after a few hours i decided to get on the internet to investigate if anyone else has experienced this problem. to my surprise, it is clearly a problem with others. question? why was i not informed of this problem by dealership or any other notifications of recall, etc. really, this is how it works, you have to wait until there is a fatality to do something. i am very disappointed with chrysler. history: i have owned 1998 jeep wrangler, 2001 dodge dakota, 2005 dodge magnum, now 2015 jeep cherokee and the list goes on for other members of the family. come on chrysler you can do better than this. there is a problem related to these (9 gear) transmissions that need to be fixed. don't wait to recall these vehicles. if transmission is the culprit, then replace these transmissions. driving habits require frequent travel through atlanta, ga traffic. under normal driving conditions you are taking a risk driving through atlanta let alone with know vehicle problems.
Vehicle parked in the drive way after returning from work.shortly after discovered that tailgate glass shattered and falling off the vehicle. no evidence of glass being hit or cracked prior to the incident.
Takata recall, having issues with the computer stating that the vehicle four wheel drive is disabled and off, then was sitting at traffic light on 6/16/16 and its like the vehicle cut off ( to save energy) and then when it cut back on it had accelerated car to making me hit someone in the rear end. unsure as to what is going on but dealer ship last did oil change at 17,000 miles and it came out with check engine on and they said nothing to worry about and cleared the code out. then the four wheel drive message keeps coming up ( even when not in four wheel drive haven't even hit the button to switch it over) illuminates on message center. seems like car has issues with something computer or electrical but most of all how safe is this vehicle if can rev up and accelerate without touching gas pedal. have moderate damage to front end of car, tow hook was pushed back into the front of it and cant open hood having adjuster look at today and take to garage unsure as to what happened or why but doesn't seem very safe and it hit pretty hard but airbag on driver side didn't deploy makes it scary to think what if it decides to deploy while driving now...
