Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2014 Jeep Cherokee

I have a 2014 jeep cherokee with 71k miles. for more than 6 months i have noticed that the car takes a lot of effort to speed, and when it does the rpm is so high and it feels that the engine is going to burn out. it is like the gears are stucked. i took it to the dealer and they said that everything was good, except my engine mounts. i changed that; however, the problems continues. 5 days ago i had the service shifter message come up on my screen. it highlighted all my gears lights red and the screen was locked to service shifter. they said that everything was fine, but obviously the car have some issues with the transmission.

I took jeep in to have a sensor replaced (oil pressure) sensor. while at the dealership they also did a safety recall update. after getting the jeep back the 4 wheel would not engage and neither would the gas pedal. took jeep back and they still have not fix. said the sw update could not have caused issue. said they reached out to chrysler jeep. jeep will still not engage the 4 wheel and still at the dealership-marks casa dealership in abq-new mexico. any assistance would be appreciated or even assist with contacting dealership on issue. update from him today. it appears more weird issues have arised. now my cherokee is autonomously engaging the rear locking diff. for no reason. the service techs don't know what to do. suggesting replacing the cost is very high. had no issues till they did the flash on jeep.

Transmission will not move from park, error message 'service transmission ', 'service park brake' 'transmission shifts very hard at times' vehicle cannot be moved at times until battery is disconnected and i think computer resets. may need to disconnect more than once to correct. jeep has no remedy, they say must see error messages or condition before they can fix. through research i have found 9 speed transmission is defective, i am not the only person having this problem. jeep has no fix and has bought back some of these vehicles from owners. can i use the lemon law to remedy this problem? this has occurred numerous times since i've owned vehicle. .

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact took the vehicle to jeff wyler chrysler jeep dodge of lawrenceburg (875 e eads pkwy, lawrenceburg, in 47025, 812-537-2525) to be serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 19v447000 (power train). after the vehicle was serviced and while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle began to stall and jerk without warning. the contact made multiple attempts to reach the dealer where the vehicle was serviced and the manufacturer; however, her calls were not returned. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 100,300.

After fueling, the jeep will start surging, the idling becomes erratic and then it will stall out with the parking brake light coming on, service transmission light comes on, the d on the ip flashes and when placing gear selector from d to p, the jeep makes a loud clunk which can be felt thru the floor. shifting into any other gear does the same. this has happened over 10 times since purchasing new. we never top off the fuel tank and take care to fill up if tank shows 1/4 full. it's been to the dealer, at least twice, to have the transmission "flashed" but the problem keeps recurring. each time the dealer (greenville chrysler, greenville, tx) tries to charge us a diagnostic fee which we adamantly reject after the first time because the problem is exactly the same. just 4 days ago, my wife was turning left at a light from a stop, after fueling, and it stalled in the middle of the intersection. she was able to restart it and drive but she could hear the loud clunk when putting it in d. she immediately came home and parked it and i confirmed the cel, service transmission light, parking light, flashing d on the ip and i switched from p to d and r and it clunked each time. i unplugged the battery to see if it would clear any codes and "reset" and let it sit overnight and this morning it started up fine with no warning lights on the ip. we took it this afternoon to pick up our son from school and it did the same thing with all the warning lights, clunking when shifting gear and we limped it home. i've disconnected the battery and will reconnect in the morning and take it to the dealership.*dt*jb*dt consumer stated in short, after filling up with fuel, the jeep stutters and/or shuts off. for me, this happened in parking lots or somewhere other than a public road. however, my wife has experienced this on the road on several occasions.the jeep will run fine for about 2-3 months and then starts to act up again. *jb

As i approached an intersection and pushed on the breaks the car stalled out. warning lights came on. after restarting the car it stalled out again when i tried to break a second time. this has happened at least 4 times. the last time it happened, the car stalled out in the middle of a main roadway as i approached a red light; i was almost rear-ended. i tried to restart the car. once i got it restarted i tried to put it in gear and the car bucket and stalled out again. i tried a number of times to restart the car and eventually got it started. i eventually got it into gear and started to drive off the roadway. the car drove very jittery and with little to no power. most warning lights on the dash came on - 4wd inoperable; put car into gear and restart, service transmission, traction control problem, battery problem. i have had it to two dealerships. once said it was the battery; i replaced it. the other first said it was oil consumption with the engine but when that turned out not to be the case the dealership and chrysler/jeep are telling me that this is a problem due to overfilling the gas and that the only fix is not to top off the gas tank. really? this only started at @ 42,000 miles. also, i don't think the gas was topped off each time this happened. i also live in a state where you cannot pump your own gas so if the gas station puts too much gas in the car stalls and creates a safety hazard? how much is too much gas? there is nothing in the car manual. there is no warning in and around the gas tank. this is a very serious problem and causes a very dangerous car to operate. there either needs to be a real fix for this problem or the cars need to be taken off the road. *ln*dt*jb

Service shifter message on. all the gear shift lights are on. dealership reported wire harness wires are 'frayed' needs to be replaced. never had any work done in that area. has to be a manufacturing problem. this has also caused the following engine code to arise. p0222 description the throttle position sensor/switch is located on the throttle body of the intake manifold and the pedal position sensor/switch is part of the accelerator pedal assembly. these sensors tell the engine control module (pcm) how fast the driver wants to go and how quickly it needs to get up to speed. when the pcm detects a problem with this sensor or the circuit for the sensor, it will set code p0222.the pcm may also limit the speed of the vehicle to 20 miles per hour or less ("limp home mode") to protect the engine and the driver due to the control module's inability to accurately detect the engine performance being requested. almost caused me to wreck going to work.

3rd time since purchasing this vehicle.no warning i turn it of wont crank tunr over nothing.lights still working

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving approximately 40 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and "service transmission" appeared on the instrument panel. while approaching a red light, the speed decreased. while attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle did not accelerate. the contact shifted the vehicle into park and drive, and drove home very slowly. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired; however, an appointment was scheduled for august 12, 2019 with a mechanic. the contact also received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 19v447000 (power train). the manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 64,310.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while driving 40 mph, the vehicle seized and the engine revved as the accelerator pedal was applied. when the brake pedal was applied, the rpms increased to high. the "service transmission" message was displayed. the vehicle was taken to larry h. miller chrysler dodge jeep ram (1800 w 104th ave, westminster, co 80234, (720) 907-0928), but the failure was unable to be duplicated. the dealer stated that a software update was needed and the oil was low. the repairs were made, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where an oil change was completed. the manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to a local dealer. the failure mileage was 88,000.

Car literally stops working while driving, locking steering and no power brakes to stop. has happened twice, while turning both directions. others online have had it happen while driving straight, and crashed as a result. jeep dealer blames oil level, transmission, and software, but no fixes have helped. currently installing new transmission due to horrible shifting. dealer states oil level can be 1/4" low on the dipstick (within the safe zone) and it can make the car quit running while you are driving 70 mph down the highway! many others have experienced the same issues! this is a dangerous car that must be taken off the road immediately.

After the vehicle is warmed up the transmission doesn't want to shift. on take off from a dead stop it'll be in 3rd gear at 10 mph. the vehicle has been to the dealer several time for this issue and i'm told there aren't any issues. also when turning out in traffic the vehicle has stalled numerous times with my 3 year old son in the back. this vehicle is unsafe and the worst purchase i have ever made.

Vehicle will have jerk and knock during acceleration. it's occurring more often in the last month. it also lost power to the transmission causing it to cut off. it is dangerous while driving and i never know when it would occur

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that the transmission failed. the vehicle was taken to auto plaza chrysler, dodge, jeep ram (12830 mo 21 highway desoto, mo 63020, 636-337-7777) to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 19v447000 (power train) and nhtsa campaign number: 16v529000 (power train). the repairs did not correct the failure. while driving various speeds, the vehicle shifted hard, jerked, and hesitated to shift into gear. when the engine was started, the vehicle entered into limp mode and the service transmission, service parking brake, and check engine warning indicators illumiated. the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer numerous times for the failures. the dealer updated the engine and transmission modules and software several times; however, the failure was not corrected. the manufacturer was contacted. the failure mileage was 85,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. while the vehicle was idling at a stop sign, the vehicle seized when the accelerator pedal was depressed. also, "shift to park and back to drive" was illuminated. the contact was able to restart the ignition and continue driving initially. the contact stated that the failure occurred on multiple occasions. the vehicle was taken to tuttle-click chrysler jeep dodge ram (40 auto center dr, irvine, ca 92618, (949) 472-7400) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 33,000. *ln *tr

Driveshaft has gone bad at 29,000 miles. shudders at slow take off and driveshaft causes knocking sound from bottom of vehicle when accelerating

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 19v447000 (power train). while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle would not shift into high gear and caused the engine to rev. the contact took the vehicle to larry h. miller colorado jeep (350 s havana st, aurora, co 80012, (720) 262-2215) and was informed that the remedy was not available. the manufacturer was notified. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Transmission service light turns on intermittently, irregular jerking or disengagement of the transmission. when the car is turned off and turned it back on then no issue or slipping with transmission.

My problem started about two weeks ago when i went to put my car into reverse from park after having just started it and it drove forward instead of backwards. i had to put it back into park then back into reverse before it would go backwards (no i was not on a hill i was flat, the car was acting as though it was in drive instead of reverse). then it progressed to i went to change from park to drive and the engine just reved when the gas was pressed (acting as though it was in neutral) and i yet again had to put it back into park and turn it off to get it to go into the right gear. then it progressed to my battery not working properly and my car not wanting to start up right away. and it got even worse to the point my car now says i need service on the shifter. i have had this car for 9 months and i drive it 10 miles a day (to and from work combined) 5 days a week and hardly ever anymore than that. i had never had any problems with it before this week and now all these problems are popping up at once.

The mil has been on and off, the service 4 wheel drive warning illuminates, the parking brake warning illuminates, the transmission feels like it is shifting into neutral and there is a major loss of power. the dealer informed me that our 2014 jeep cherokee needs a new transmission assembly and dtcm module.

Takata recall fill car with gas it will shut off and loose all soeed control and the serbice parking break comes on windshield wipers go you loose power steering lights flash, also car wont go again after you slow down to incomplete stop, also looses acceleration as youre driving with no warning will say to put in park and when you do you eventually loose power steering and you have to try to restart multiple times transmission jumps and jolts when shifting gears at any random time. this all happens very randomly and gets worse any time you put gas in especially filled up all the way have taken to dealer multiple times and they say there is nothing wrong with transmission they cant get it to duplicate issue this has been happening since ive had the car 4 years now and the other issues were supposedly electrical caused by a water bottle under my seat but yet the bottle was removed and im still having problems

19v-447. we began having this issue last year where we had no idea what the cause of it was. initially the vehicle would begin jerking while accelerating and continue even at high speeds. this was intermittent and whenever we took the vehicle in for service on this they could not replicate it happening. it began getting worse within a few months and one day last month when my wife was stopped at an intersection when the light turned green she accelerated and lost all power to the transmission causing the vehicle to become disabled in the middle of the intersection. we filed a claim and had our vehicle towed to the jeep dealership.. the vehicle will suddenly lose all power to the gas and cause the vehicle transmission light to come on. the vehicle blinks that in order to get the jeep to start up again it must be shifted into park and then it continues to blink the transmission warning. we've been lucky to not have been in an accident yet but this vehicle is unsafe to drive. we were told roughly a month ago when we brought it in for servicing at our local dealership it was flashed and fixed. after researching and finding there was no fix, we were clearly mislead by the repair shop. this happened again 3 days ago where it stopped in the middle of another intersection when my wife was accelerating from a stop and again was disabled in the middle of the intersection. if left for a period of time the jeep will start with the transmission light on and drive for a short period of time before doing it again.

My 2014 jeep cherokee shifted itself into neutral 3 times yesterday, all while stopped at a stop sign or red light in city traffic. this is the second time it's happened, and it seems to happen after i fill up with gas.

My jeep will jump forward uncontrollably while moving between 9-13 mph. when it happens, it sounds like a bomb going off in the transmission slamming gears down. this happens regularly and can not be controlled. often times this will happen with the shift lights are all red and you can not tell what gear you are in. i've had this shift module replaced multiple times and on the way home from the dealer will jump again.

Bought the car about 6 months ago started having issues with transmission shifting and took it in and they told me all it needed was a software update and still to this day i have even more issues car don't start at time and then when it does check engine light turns on and when i try to put it on drive i big a big club i noise and you can really feel the car shake from the shift and and says service transmission and then all of a sudden all the service light come of by far the worse car i have ever bought!! and tell this day i still have those issues

Transmission feels like it is slipping while in motion and it randomly goes into neutral which had to be put into park and then back to drive in order to move. sometimes it requires a complete engine restart. this has happened randomly and always when i'm driving and on the road or highway but luckily was always able to pull over to the side avoiding a major accident.

My horn will not work at all nor the cruise control is not working at all as well. so is all of the controls on the steering wheel. also a low headlight went out and i may have a stuck clutch problem as well. i need all of this for my safety, my passengers, and my vehicle safely as well. i am requesting a recall so these matters can be straighten out as soon as possible. i don't know what's going to happen the next day, but i need these situations fixed as much as i can.

This is the second time it's happened. after i fill up a tank load of gas, the car wants to lunge forward after coming to a stop. it does a few jolts before it picks up speed. today, when i cranked it, it stalled. i turned it off then cranked it again and it was fine. then i pulled out the driveway and proceeded to drive down the street (35 mph). when i approached the stop sign, the car said 'shift to park to shift gears.' i shifted from drive to park, waited a minute, then back to drive. the car would not go. i turned it off and then back on, shifted to drive then proceeded to drive. i got up to 45 mph and approached a stop sign. the car said 'shift to park to shift gears.' at the stop sign, i shifted from drive to park, waited then shifted to drive. the car would not go. i turned it off then tried to turn it back on and it stalled. i turned it off then waited a few minutes before turning it back on.

My car stopped without warning in the middle of a busy road while the car was in drive. i was on a city street going straight. then the screen said service transmission. told me to put car in park and then drive again. i was able to get out of harms way, after several attempts to engage the transmission while i was on the road. i put the car into neutral to get it to roll into a parking lot. parked in parking lot. put into drive again, and care would not move. screen prompted me to shut off vehicle and restart. did this, and same issue. car would not move. did this two more times and then gave up and called a tow truck. my first incident with issues with this car started over the last few weeks. i purchased it used in february 2019, with a clean carfax. it is now june 2019, and i'm starting to see the issues with transmission. while parked on day for 3 hours, i hopped in the car to start it and it wouldn't start after several attempts, but no error messages. i didn't think much of it because the screen said the fob wasn't detected, so i thought maybe the battery on fob was low. this problem has not occurred since. the other problems i noticed are extreme jerking while driving the vehicle, when accelerating at a stop or while driving. one time it jerked so hard going from a stop to drive, that i thought i had been hit in the back of the car. my car is currently with the purchasing dealership getting looked at.

Shift lights all come on resulting in car stalling out on take off. jeep has stalled out on me many times in the middle of intersections. will have to turn off car and restart.

My 2014 jeep cherokee has been having transmission issues since september, 2018. the service transmission light comes on as well as a message displaying "service transmission" in the dashboard message center. although the vehicle doesn't "act up" while driving, once you come to a stop it chugs and chugs and takes about 5 minutes to get up to speed again. the only way to reset it is to stop completely, turn it off and wait about 15 minutes and start it back up again. when you start it back up it seems to run fine but the service transmission idiot light is still on. this has happened a total of 3 times since september, 2018. when i take it to the dealership they claim the computer shows no evidence of an error code and that when it happens again to bring it in. the problem is that when it happens i'm too far away from the dealership to bring it in and every time i stop at a stop light/stop sign i hold up traffic because it takes so long to get up to speed. how do they expect me to be able to "bring it in"? they refuse to do nothing about it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v447000 (power train). the contact stated that the manufacturer failed to provide the part within a reasonable time frame as the interim notice failed to specify when the part would be provided. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was contacted. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

When shifting from a parked position, rolling stop, or just at a stop sign, it will not shift right away and then it will lunge into gear and lunge you forward as well. it has gone from a neutral position to drive and it wouldn't stop lunging. the check engine light came on and said the transmission needed serviced. i had to put in park, turn off the car, and then wait. once i started it back up and wasn't lunging constantly but still did when shifting. it seems like this is a common problem that needs to be fixed by jeep. these problems have happened on city streets and highways.

The vehicle randomly downshifts into first gear while driving approximately 30 mph. it is a very hard down shift accompanied by getting stuck in neutral. this occurred while driving down a city street.

Near death experience too many times. have reported this to the dealerships and to jeep headquarters. it is a known issue with jeep and they fail to do anything about it. if you try to accelerate from a incomplete stop (such as slowing down on a ramp and then speeding up) the car does not shift into gear and you are left sitting in the middle of dangerous traffic. eventually it will shift and buck and throw the car into high speed as the transmission tries to catch up to the fuel that was dumped into the engine as a result of the car not changing gears and going forward when the gas was first applied. have narrowly avoided being blind sided in intersections almost daily!!! so sick of jeep not fixing it, and knowing about the issue for years and years and years. it is a death machine just waiting for the next kill. you can see all the complaints on this year (2014) and (2015) with this car. i have had into the shop repeatedly since purchasing this vehicle new and still no resolution from jeep. they don't care if you die in the car, even though they know the car will not shift into gear when trying to accelerate from a stop or a slow roll. this report wants to know when this happened. it happens every single day since the day we bought the car. i would have reported it daily if i had known this form existed before today.

We have had this jeep for 2 1/2 years. have had transmission issues from day 1 with heavy shifting, lunging in park and transitions from reverse to drive. it also heavy shifts when going on a significant downhill grade. initial dealer told us it was a software issue. updated software did not fix second dealer told us a ring was installed incorrectly. did not fix problem. second dealer told us need a new transmission. did not fix problem. third dealer told us it was not bad enough to require repair. back to second dealer. who replaced transmission pan. did not fix problem. back to second dealer: waiting to replace transmission for the second time. the vehicle is unsafe. it lunges at random times. it does not move smoothly between gears. dealers have said that there were major issues with the 2014 transmission. now we have vehicle that we feel is unsafe, has devalued and i have spent countless hours taking for "warrantied" repairs that do not fix the problem.

When driving vehicle will enter what chrysler/jeep calls limp mode. vehicle will slow immediately to 35mph no matter previous speed. accelerator will not work. vehicle must be parked and restarted to reset. this happens with no warning. very dangerous when on interstate highway.

I first bought this car last year late june, first car ever. my first concern with it was that the breaks were a bit off every time i tried to break it would accelerate a little bit then it would stop. then i took it to service and they told me something was wrong with the transmission so i had to take it to an actual jeep store to get it service i didn't take it right away cause i was busy but then one day after getting gas my car started acting weird and it turned off on me while still being at the gas station so when i turned it off and tried to turn it back on it was kicking a lot and it wouldn't let me move it unless i put it on 'park'. every time i had to stop at a light it told me to put in on park and put it back on drive once i was ready. i took it in right away they said they 'fixed' it and said it should be okay and if it wasn't my car might be a 'lemon' car. so that was about 2 months ago and there would be some times that the i think engine would start going fast or it sounded like my car was movie when it was actually just parked. but this saturday after getting gas i was heading towards the freeway and my car just turned off on me not once but twice the first time i was at the shopping center so cars were going slow and i had enough power to move it to the side but then i turned it back on and took it home and before i could park it turned off on me okay good things it didn't happen on the freeway or a street that was busy. so i took it back to the dealership today and told them my problem and the told me to take it back to jeep to get it serviced again but i don't want to spend 250$ again on something they won't be able to fix and i need a car but i'm scared to drive this one now after all these accidents. i am going to take it in again but i couldn't do it cause i needed a rental car.

Started car and was in driving mode on a side/back street in a residential area, when beeping and check engine light appeared, and message service transmission appeared. car would not accelerate when foot on gas pedal, and i coasted down hill on side street, until i could pull over and stop car. when i re entered vehicle, check engine light and message were still showing, but vehicle drove properly.

Transmission jumping, jerking, slipping, not shifting smoothly. it is back in shop for the 6th time since i bought it new. jeep dealership says they cannot fix it. it has become a safety hazard. *also rolls back on hills or even a moderate incline. *js

Decelerating on i-75 off ramp to city street, turned off cruse control, jeep stuttered to a stop when lightly pressing brake pedal. accelerating cautiously, struggled to accelerate, rmp needle revving high, sluggish acceleration, jolted/stuttered to accelerate to 35-mph then accelerated normal. 4 miles down city street went to decelerate slowly for stop light, "service electronic brake system." message came on screen, brake pedal became extremely stiff. brake pedal would not press down as normal. had to struggle just to get jeep to stop at busy intersection almost rear ended vehicle in-front of me... placed jeep in park, turned off & restarted jeep, as past electrical issues in 2017 have happened with deceleration/acceleration (in 2017 turning off/on jeep helped(past in 2017 bad battery cell dealership missed had to take somewhere else for correct diagnose/replaced battery)). light turned green tried to accelerate through intersection to park in parking lot, jeep barely accelerated to 10-15 mph "service electronic brake system" message came back on after 10 mph was reached. had to jam down foot to barely move brake pedal 2 cm to come to a stop in the parking lot (almost hit building). went to put driver side window down before turning off jeep & driver side window wouldn't go down. now safety issue might not be covered under warranty /dealership 70,774 mileage. these safety issues should always be covered for full life of warranty not just to 60,000 miles!!!!!

Vehicle does not accelerate properly. if you slow down for a light which then turns green, when you go to accelerate the vehicle hesitates for several seconds. also does it when pulling out from a complete stop. we have had several near rear end collisions because of this. vehicle was purchased in missouri and taken to the shop several times for this issue and each time the either said they found no issue or they flashed the computer. we are living in utah now and the issue continues to the point my wife is afraid to even drive it. this is a daily issue when i go to work i have to enter a two lane highway with a speed limit of 65 mph and the vehicle will not accelerate.

Jeep will not fully shift to drive. when shifting gears from park to drive the gear will slip into neutral. then when i am able to get into drive, switching from drive to park once i make it to a destination the 'park' gear isn't recognized so i have to keep shifting back and forth until it locks. also, i have a sloped drive way. i've had a near extreme accident when i parked and my wife was coming around the back but park wasn't recognized and the jeep started to roll backwards. luckily i was able to mash on the brake before anything happened. *tr

The transmission has extremely rough shifts and then gas pedal won't work and you have to pull to a shoulder or parking lot and turn the car off and back on again to get the transmission to work. it's happened both on turnpike and city streets. once i was coasting down a hill without my foot on either the gas or break.

Transmission slips into neutral

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that when attempting to shift into park, the gear shifted into other gears instead of park. after the gear finally engaged in park, the vehicle moved in reverse. the contact had to get back inside the vehicle and shift the vehicle in park. in addition, the vehicle made an abnormal chiming noise and "place in park" appeared on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to m and l motors chrysler jeep and dodge (406 piedmont dr, lexington, nc 27295, (336) 295-1329), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was called and transferred the contact to the nhtsa hotline. the failure mileage was 88,000.

Since we bought our car it has had several recalls as well as electrical, computer based, and power train issues. none of which were explainable. we were sinply told to take it to jeep, put hundreds of dollars in to fix it and get it back. we've only had the car for abut 4 years. yesterday, within a month of the last occurence, our car has frozen on us and will not start. jeep hasn't done anything about this. we've known several other people who have had this same make and model who have had the same problems. we are not in a financial position to keep putting money into a car that should last us longer, or to sinply just trade it in since we still owe 10k on the car. this has also put our kids safety at jeopardy, has caused us loss of work days on top of putting us in a more financial burden. there needs to be something done about this. it is unfair that we soent so much money on a car that has malfunctioned several times due to being built so poorly.

The car will begin to hesitate and then the transmission will go into a neutral state, but the lights will not show that it is in neutral. the car will roll forward or backward depending on where you are. you cannot shift, when you do try to shift, the car will jolt like the engine is going to fall out of the car. turning the engine off and on, several times, while waiting each time clears the problem. jeep can not reproduce this it so they will not fix it. will get a message on dash stating to service trasmission and parking break. this has happened at least 5 times that i have documented by pictures and video on my phone however, has happened a lot more. specific dates documented are 11/19/17, 11/21/17, 11/29/17, 12/13/18, 4/2/19.

Purchased used november of 2017. has a little over 55,000 miles on it. have noticed that the transmission seems to take longer than it should to shift and sometimes doesn't shift up at all or will shift down or even to neutral sometimes while driving at higher speeds. also will lose power and then sometimes use a lot of power when not needed, causing the car to jerk or accelerate out of nowhere. happens very often and has been continually getting worse since i've purchased it. but severely noticed it on my last road trip about 6 weeks ago.

Multiple warning lights come on. want accelerate, hard gear shift, low voltage light. turns car off while driving.
