Problems with 1999 Jeep Cherokee FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

I was parked in my lot and a neighbor dropped a cigarette behind my 1999 jeep. there was ungodly gas smell and the puddle of gas that is leaking from tank ignited. i was luckily enough that i caught it at that time or it would have exploded. i just bought it and never smelled gas or thought the tank was leaking. i had to spenleaking. it is going to cost over 500 dollars for this to be fixed plus a tow bar. please help me to see if jeep company is responsible due to recall. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 1999 jeep cherokee. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle began to stall. after a few minutes, the vehicle completely shut off without warning. the vehicle was taken to the shop for a diagnosis and the mechanic believed the cause of failure to be the fuel pump. the coil pack was previously replaced. the manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnosis. he was informed of a recall for the intake manifold. the recall number was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 79,000.

Gas gauge fails periodically. spoke to dealer, and was told if it is not broke don't fix it. truck failed to start 4 days ago. has it towed to local garage. i have been told i have a major electrical problem, but tech has not yet figured it out. jeep only has 52,000 miles. now mind you, since i have purchased this jeep in 1999, it has only been to a certified jeep dealer for all services. all recommended work has always been completed. this was the first time i brought it somewhere else, because i had to get it towed. *nm

When fuel tank level is a quarter or less and while turning left at a traffic light vehicle runs out of gas and engine shuts off. after coasting through light and straighting out line of travel,several seconds of restart attempts eventually restart engine.vehicle continues on normally.*ak

Vehicle leaks gas.*ak when the gas tank is full, the gasoline would leak out until it was under 3/4 of a tank. *jg

Transfer case failed, causing vehicle to stall while driving. vehicle checked by dealer, who replaced front differential bearings, and o-rings in fuel pump. also, vehicle makes loud "roaring" noises, and is very difficult to control while driving. *ak

I was stopped at a light and a ford sedan rear ended me and the car immediately went up in flames. there were several explosions and the car was declared a total loss by the unsurance company. i was taken to the hospital with neck and upper back pain . x-rays were taken and i was discharged with cervical strain. i was referred by my doctor to a crisis counselor whom i am still attending. i have not slept through the night since the incident.*ak

Fuel tank is warped and has caused fuel to leak. *ak consumer was told by the dealer that when they replaced fuel pump they did not torque the screws properly and that caused the tank to warp and leak. *yd

Oxygen sensor failed. yh
