Purchased vehicle from dealership. according to paperwork, vehicle has clean title. when i try to insure vehicle apparently vehicle is deemed "unsafe" because it suffered significant damage and needs a rebuilt title. dealership never made me aware the vehicle had 3 accidents. after agreeing to buy back vehicle from me, they said they would no longer accept it.
The liftgate does not always stay in the up position. it lifts to the top and then drops quickly with no resistance. it seems worse when the outside temperature is colder (below 40-50 degrees f. there was a recall on the gas struts in about 2012. i called vic bailey honda in spartanburg, sc. someone in the service department said their records showed that the recall had been completed on the vehicle.
The car has 27,000 miles on it. the engine mount is being replaced due to it being bad, the radio is very delayed and crashes and the sliding door keeps sticking and i have to force it closed.
The front passenger door would not open from either the inside or outside latch even though unlocked as the door lock knob was up. this problem was observed about mid december 2019. took it to a honda dealer, south tacoma honda, and they could not open the door either. they said the interior panel would need to be destroyed to access the mechanisms and repair. had the repair done by south tacoma honda who replaced the interior door panel because they had to tear it out, latch and actuator for $1,092.56. they did not know why the actuator and latch failed. i'm concerned this could occur with the driver side door too. it's a safety issue if the door(s) won't open.
Sliding doors won't lock the sliding door will just pop open again. have child lock engaged and door locked from inside. i have found about 40 cars with this problem in just columbus ohio alone that are 2007. the cost to repair is 500$ which is failing most of the youtube videos are showing.
Have had intermittent issue with the automatic feature not being able to fully close the driver's side door. today, i tried to open it but driver's side door was making grinding noise and only opening 1/3 of the way on the automatic setting. i disengaged the automatic sliding door function and opened it manually. slid open no problem. i reengaged the auto setting when i went to close the door. it started to slide close and a little less than half way, it fell at me, coming completely off the car other than a small guide wire in the center. i can not get it back into place and am looking into getting it towed to be repaired. when the center roller came off the track it left gigantic gashes in the paint/metal on the side of the van.
The tailgate latching mechanism stops working when the weather gets cold and not able to open the tail gate. the vehicle was service before for the same problem but in cold weather it stops working.
The side doors fell off the track. both of them within days. one when opening it and the other driving down my driveway. i'm just glad it didnt happen on the highway because that seriously could have hurt someone. i looked this issue up and found it is very common on these van's and a lot of people are having this happen. one door is now held on with a strap and the other one we got closed and back on but we cannot open them. my kids have to climb over the front seats to get to their seats. i am very worried they will fly off driving down the highway like i've read others have. the side of my van is all scratched up from them falling off too.
Driver side automatic sliding door unlatched while driving on interstate. i got a emergency tone telling me something was wrong, but no indication on the dash. i found a couple recalls for this problem and stopped by the local honda dealer (piazza), but they said the vin has no recalls and the recall is too old. i just bought the vehicle a month ago. this is a safety issue known by honda and even if it is happening only now, the dealer should repair at no cost to me.
