The problem that created the unsafe condition was unintentional spontaneous acceleration while depressing the brake to complete the stop while parking...
Unexplained acceleration. *tr
My wife's 2012 odyssey touring was parked on the ramp to our garage, with the emergency brake on. i released the brake and applied slight pressure to the accelerator with the car in reverse gear: it lurched backward and the brake could not stop it, though a neighbor's garage did. when i drove it forward to park it the car sped forward thirty feet or so before it obeyed the brake. the garage will need a new door -- at least -- but the car suffered minor damage, except that the taillights will not go off.
Vehicle unexpectedly accelerated while braking. acceleration continued after vehicle was brought to a stop. this happened 3 or 4 times in a span of 30 minutes. foot was not on accelerator. driven by adult male.
I was in a parking lot going less than 5 miles an hour and was turning right into a parking space. my foot was on the brake, but the car lurched forward and accelerated over the cement chock block, hitting a pole in front of the store.
While making left turn accelerated after pressing the brake. this happened on a city street.
Vehicle affected is a 2008 honda odyssey. while driving various speeds, the abs would erroneously activate and caused the vehicle to suddenly decelerate. during the failure, the vehicle stability control warning indicator illuminated. the if coming to a complete stop, auto would not go into gear when accelerator pressed. worked better in d2, still having same issues. and reverse not working at all. burning smell like that of rubber. battery light was also on, had not been on before. vin# is (xxxxx). taking the vehicle into mckinney honda dealership of north texas honda group. incident occurred on 9/18/2019, will be taken to dealer 9/19/2019 redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The vehicle completely shuts down and off intermittently when the auto idle stop function is engaged. this happens when we are in traffic on a highway and streets or at stop signs and stopping briefly and and the vehicle goes into park and must be re-started by pressing the "on/off" button. it is very scary and dangerous. also i get an error message saying the vehicle's "heated seat system problem". secondly the vehicles collision warning comes on when there is nothing around and says the passenger side sliding door is open when it is not.
I was driving the car at 40 miles per hour on a back road without cruise control engaged. the road was one lane each direction, fully marked with lines, and gentle rolling hills. in a about mile long straight stretch i came upon a cyclist using the center of my lane and climbing one of the hills. i coasted a little bit slower and then moved fully into the oncoming lane to give the cyclist plenty of room. at this same time a car popped over the furthest visible hill a little less than mile away. at this moment the car stopped taking accelerator input. i was going up a hill next to a cyclist and losing speed rapidly. what should have been a pass with maybe 4 seconds to spare ended up being less than 2 seconds and a little frightening. i pulled in front of the cyclist much closer than i would have liked. once i was back in the lane the car gave me control of the accelerator again. during the incident the were no warnings audible, visible, or haptic provided by the car. ...
Van has shut off while being driven, transmission jumps constantly at 24 mph, radio goes in and out constantly- have no audio 90% of the time, navigation rarely works, car play rarely works, bluetooth drops phone connection consistently, have had rear camera freeze multiple times
2018 honda odyssey exl resnav w/ 9speed at aside from the transmission i also wrote up our odyssey has used the collision mitigation auto braking system several times to not just slow but completely stop the vehicle. this did not happen just once. or just to my wife the primary driver. it's happened to both of us multiple times. as you can imagine having the car 'take the controls' and stop the vehicle when you have the accelerator depressed to pass a vehicle this is unsafe. doubly so when the vehicle behind you anticipates your acceleration and nearly rear ends you. or the time my wife had a car cross traffic left to right too close to her and the surrounding vehicles turning into the local chick fil a. the vehicles to her left and right were able to slow and then proceed. our odyssey stopped dead in the middle of the 6 lane road that usually runs 45. she was nearly hit due to the overly aggressive stop from the cmbs. turning left with a green arrow the van will even attempt to stop when it detects traffic sitting on the opposing side of the intersection yielding right ...
The fuses keep having to be replaced because when it transitions from eco to regular the car stutters and the engine light comes on and starts blinking. i then have to turn off the car and restart it. the car only goes up to like 20mph the slowly increases then decreases again the light comes back on. this began happening about 6 months ago but maybe a little bit beforehand...not exactly sure of the exact date. the first time it happened i was driving to work.
