Low beam headlight switch failed and lost both low beam headlights at exactly same moment. clearly a safety risk for night driving. i see honda has recalled this switch in past models. failure occurred while driving at night.
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 honda cr-v. the contact noticed while driving at night, the low bean headlights failed to illuminate. the contact stated that he replaced the bulb and checked the fuse but the failure recurred. the contact called tameron honda dealer, (1675 montgomery hwy, birmingham, al 35216, (205) 396--3108) and schedule an appointment. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing and was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not part of nhtsa campaign number: 04v086000 (exterior lighting). the failure mileage was approximately 71,400.
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda cr-v. while driving approximately 75-80 mph, the passenger side low beam headlight became inoperable. the contact stated that the passenger side headlamp was replaced on several occasions. the manufacturer and dealer were not notified. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 138,000.
Head light low beams will not turn on, bulbs are good but the switch is turning off high beams but not turning on low beams.
Problem: headlight bulb blowout at any time; driving or stationary. the headlights on this vehicle according to honda are designed to run off the battery, not the alternator. if the battery voltage drops significantly, the car is designed to push the battery voltage back up. this causes voltage spikes that blow out the headlight bulbs. this is described online at www.carcomplaints.com. for example: cr-v176,000 miles passenger side low beam does not function... have replaced bulb every few months for the past several years, but this time (since feb. 2019) there is no recovery. i have replaced the bulb, socket and connector, checked fuses...hi beam and parking/signal bulbs all fully functional, but no low beam on passenger side. this is a dangerous and well known defect that a recall was issued for in the 2005 models. honda, in certain model years, of which 2006 is one, has so far refused to offer remedy. there are more than enough instances of this unique hazard to justify a recall, and one is long overdue.- stockton, ca, usa takata recall low beam headlight stops working headlight bulbs continue to blow. then can blow after a ...
Smoke started arising from the steering column while driving on a city street during the daytime. driver was not using lights at the time and was using normal occasional turn signals for a urban metropolitan area. the turn signal was evaluated and showed melting of the turn signal switch and the terminal harness. this is similar to what is described in nhtsa 12v-136 or 12v-486. honda america and honda dealerships said the 2002 honda cr-v was not included, because vin was not included in the recall. however, the model and year of the car were included and having the same problems described as previously mentioned recalls.
Headlights go out every 2-3 months so constantly changing bulbs. very inconvenient and dangerous.
The running lights & low beam lights fail repeatedly. running, standing or start up; it doesn't matter. the bulbs burn out. both lights use the same halogen bulb. this is the same problem covered in your honda cr-v recall # 12v13600 (honda # s34) affecting the 2002,'03 and 2004 model years. model years 2005 and possibly beyond should have been included.
This past summer, i was driving by myself when all of the sudden, the infotainment center (the screen that controls everything and is at the center of it all) started beeping uncontrollably and the screen's brightness setting started going from full brightness to full darkness. i had no idea what was going on. i was terrified and almost got into a car accident, rear ending the car in front of me. i became very distracted and startled. i wasn't sure if the car computer or battery was over heating, i wasn't sure if i should pull over across two lanes of traffic to make an emergency stop...it was terrible. i tried everything to get it to stop. nothing would do it. luckily, i was a few minutes away from home. i pulled into my driveway in a panic and shut the car off. i turned it back on and it was gone. i chalked this up to maybe a one time computer glitch and let it go. two days later on the highway, the same thing happened. this continued many more times randomly without any warning or explanation. i never received a notice or warning in the mail. i wish ...
Was driving the vehicle at night and both low beam head lights went out and remained out. had to stop to prevent crash. driver could not see. very dangerous! high beams working but did not realize until later. read that this is a problem with many hondas and a tsb issued for other models, but not this one. this model and year needs a tsb as well. read that others with this model and year have had same problem but there is no tsb for it.
