Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2015 Honda CR-V

This has been an ongoing issue. car won't start at times. the most recent incident i was getting gas at wawa then got back in and car wouldn't turn over and dash board lights stated flickering and a buzzing sound was coming from under the dashboard. then on a side street it took 3 attempts to start. i took to mechanic who changed the starter 2 different times in 2 days. and now it won't start again. also my oil is either burning or leaking out. i have had that addressed by a mechanic as well. that too was never figured out on multiple attempts by hall honda who reported it as not even happening. and now again there is no oil in the car. i have been diligent about maintenance and oil changes. i have broken down in this car on side streets, in public parking places and in unsafe areas. i thought i was gettting a good dependable vehicle with honda. but i have had nothing but problems.

Battery drains and car will not start. car gives no warning of drain. new larger battery does not solve problem. problem repeats on 6 week cycle.

I am writing you because i had to have the started replaced on my honda 2015 cr-v. the vin number is: [xxx]; va license [xxx]; mileage 47,332. it is unreasonable to have a vehicle of that year and such a low mileage with starter problems and having the started replaced. the final bill for the work conducted was $727.16, including parts, labor and taxes. i suspect that starter problems are inherited from a poor design where the starter is exposed to excessive heat from the manifold. therefore, all cr-vs' designed in a same manner are relegated to the same flaw. consequently, all owners of the same type of vehicle are forced to incur the unreasonable cost of having to replace the starter at such low mileage. done information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt

Honda cr-v needs random jump starts despite having a new battery. problem began less than a year of ownership. headlights dim on occasion after initial start as if the vehicle was powered by battery alone instead of alternator. dealership initially stated that it was the battery and then said that they could not find the problem. i asked the mechanics if the car's computer did self diagnostics after stopping the engine. they said they wouldn't know until towed after experiencing the problem. problem occurs after shutting down engine. it's completely random and occurs about once a month. i can tell the night before it needs a jump when they honda cr-v hesitates before starting.

Multiple honda batteries died on the same car. original battery died within months of purchasing brand new car. the dealer replaced then the replacement did the same thing. they replaced it. now the battery is dying again. will not hold a charge for even 20 minutes. wake up in the morning. dead. jump it. dead at the very next stop. there are many many many stories on honda message boards all over the internet of people experiencing the same exact thing. i'm a single woman who has to be on the road at night. i could be murdered in a parking lot trying to jump start the car when it dies after 10 - 20 minutes. honda knows this is happening to many people and they are doing nothing to fix it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda cr-v. when the vehicle was started, the battery failed. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the failure occurred intermittently. west county honda (15532 manchester rd, ellisville, mo 63011, (636) 391-6900) diagnosed the vehicle, but did not find a failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 20,000.

The vehicle always seemed to have issues when idling. after 3 years, it turns out that the alternator had a bad diode. i replaced the battery after getting stuck and then followed up with a diagnostic of the starter, alternator and battery. immediately after replacing the battery, the alternator was only charging the battery 84%. in addition, it seems that there is an issue with the batteries used by honda and some other possible issues with the electrical system as per online blogs. to be honest, my vehicle is 38 months old and has approx 51k miles, making it out of warranty. it would also be fair to say that after having work done at the dealer through out the years that this issue should have shon up or been addressed sooner. it is also of my opinion that an extended warranty should have been issued on the electrical system.

If you put the vehicle in accessory mode or on battery without turning the engine on the battery will die.

Battery dies often have had jumps multiple times by aaa or jumper cables. started back in september 2017. brights will come on automatically, volume on radio went out on sirius but not on fm or am with screen display intact

I have had a dead battery for two mornings in a row. car sat overnight on the driveway. the instrument panel came on. car started after charging it. it also started after it sitting for 10 hours at work.

I have lost power steering twice within an 11 day period due to rodent damage on the wiring (harness) of my vehicle. 1st time was on 10/10/2017 as i was backing down my driveway that requires a couple of sharp turns. almost hit a wall. i missed 2 appts. and honda charged me $320 for the repair. 2nd time i had just started the engine and the same lsak warning lights came on and again no power steering. honda didn't charge me for this repair. i have read and been told by honda folks that this is due to the recent use of soy in the wiring covers. honda will not cover it under warranty or extended warranty and yet they sell a part no. honda 4019-2317 rodent tape. i live in a rural area and this is my 4th honda and never had this problem before. i have the repair documents but don't know how to copy and send to you.

Dead battery twice in the last 30 days.

Dead battery continues even after dealer replaced. dies suddenly while in drive and also after just starting. (parking garage after grocery shopping and driveway leaving to work). dealer has no clue/recommendation to fix

I was driving down a steep hill about a block from my homewhen all of the "trouble" lights came on. i immediately tuned around and the engine power was so low that i barely made it the block home. i parked and called honda service. whe i found out that since my car had 47,000 miles on it and honda towing would cost $160, i had the car towed by a local service for $100 to the dealer. when i called the dealer on the following monday (it happened on a friday or saturday), they informed me that the mechanics could not reproduce the problem by starting the car. no attempt was made to drive it. the company informed me that there was corrosion between the engine wire harness and the sensor connector. the parts to replace were the crank sensor connector, the o ring, and intake manifold gasket. this cost $1002.

Rodents chewed thru the wiring harness and the plastic housing, which caused lights and signals to lose functionality. discovered it while driving when turn signal clicking started going very fast, and i thought the bulb was bad.

Rabbits have eaten the power steering 3 times in 2 months. they love the pepper tape they are wrapping it with to fix the problem. my husband and i had to force a rabbit out of it, rabbit was determined to take the wires with it. honda won't give me a permanent fix. cant believe they are allowed to use food products on vehicles. 1st 2 times vehicle was found disabled, 3rd time found the rabbit in it, started the vehicle and it wouldn't come out, had to hit it with a stick it did get out, but then it came right back, so i got my husband and he and i had to force it out. the car was disabled again, i could have been driving while this critter did this and that would not have been safe at all. at this point i have no faith in the new vehicles with food products used in them. car was parked in carport. my last resort to fix this problem is to use coyote urine to keep them away. just not right.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda cr-v. while the brake pedal was depressed, the brake warning indicator illuminated. the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

Battery discharges frequently (car will not start) beginning when less than three years old, new battery same problem. happens randomly. dealer could not find problem (even though it happened once in their shop). not related to frequent short trips (dealer suggestion) as we tracked occurrence with different trip lengths with same unpredictable results. keeping battery on charger daily seems to help, but must be done daily or else problem reoccurs. problem happens after shutting vehicle off and restarting -- can be after short stop (shopping) or overnight (in garage). clearly there is a defect -- short?; relay? have heard of others with similar problem same make and model but different years. honda dealer has been no help and now vehicle is off warranty.

This car has been an absolute nightmare. i literally cannot keep it running. honda now uses soy based wiring which attracts rodents. i have several other cars in the driveway plus farm equipment. mowers, lawn mowers etc. the rodents target specifically the honda. had to have the power steering sub harness replaced twice last fall and windshield washer tank, at 3020 miles, 4434 miles, 5045 miles. first two repairs were sub harness. it now is in the shop again for loss of power steering due to rodent damage at 16660 miles, loss of power steering sub harness. i had a honda cr-v 04 before this one and it did not get rodent damage. this is directly related to honda's soy based wiring ..... they will not honor any customer satisfaction at all concerning this issue. the dealer where i bought the car all but laughed in my face. the dealer now doing the repairs has been very respectful although honda will take no responsibility for this problem. i am concerned about this also as safety issue...... three times now my power steering has gone out. luckily i was still in my yard and was able to park the car safely and have it towed. i have not tried to drive it once the steering goes out... very difficult to turn the vehicle and i would think very dangerous at highway speeds.... car was in reverse and motion when power steering loss occurred.....

My wife and i purchased the 2015 cr-v ex-l awd on january 5 2016 at staten island honda. after only 11 days and 300 miles on vehicle as we were driving for a ski vacation i noticed a crackling noise when i would turn the steering wheel in either direction. i then noticed that none of the steering wheel controls worked or the radio. in addition to this my horn didnt work and my bluetooth would constantly say (htc is ok ) both my radio interface screens would always flash different maintenance malfunctions. my cellphone would also randomly connect and make calls. then as i was driving to get gas off the nj turnpike my horn started to go off non stop and i had to pull the horn fuse out from under the hood. i also noticed a very strong vibration when vehicle is idle and stopped at traffic lights on both driver and passenger side and now seems to be getting worse . our vehicle was serviced from january 19-21 and the mechanic stated that they replaced the fuses and the cable reel and said the vibration was normal. i did some further research and there is a lawsuit against honda in regards to the 2015 cr-v vibration issue. i do not feel safe driving this vehicle and feel that i was sold a $30k lemon . i have owned hondas in the past with no issues but after this experience and honda being aware of this issue and still sold these trucks the company has lost my trust. when going through my documents i noticed that i was missing alot of paperwork from my sales contract and i brought it to the attention of the sales representative. at first he said he gave us everything and then realized he didnt but didnt have access to the file room to give us the necessary documents. he stated he would get back to us and never did. so in all i would not recommend going to staten island honda due to their incompetent sales staff and i hope honda resolves all of these issues.

Suv would not start. vehicle parked in parking lot. outside temperature 27f. battery checked ok. dash board lights came on but engine would not start. attempted 6-7 times. dash board lights just flickered with no response from engine. turned off ignition for 25-30 minutes and engine started with another attempt. vehicle driven to local honda dealership.

We had bought a brand new honda crv from o donnel honda in ellicott city (near baltimore). we had added an accessory of a remote starter. the dealer installed the remote starter but it is not working (car has to be twice started and restarted). dealer has told us that this is a known problematic issue with all crvs with keyless entry. we were never told about this problem while buying the car. we consider this as fraudulent practice. i am requesting dot to please help us ask honda to resolve this issue. either the remote starter should be reinstalled or another starter should be installed which works correctly. please note that if this is a known error (as dealer said) then all honda crvs should be recalled. restarting the car twice or more damages the car and could lead to safety issues if car starter stops working sooner than expected. we rely all our car for all personal, family and business needs. if a new car breaks down due to such faulty programming, it will cause immense damage.

I bought a brand new with 6 miles on the vehicle and after a week took it back to the dealer to find out what's causing that vibrating / shaking feeling when the car is in idle or at a red light , car shakes a lot and can really focus on the steering wheel , dealer told me that they are aware of the problem and suppose my sales person that been working there for 15 years don't know nothing about this problem and the service man said that honda is working on a software , this is a $30k car i asked for exchanged they said they are not allowed to do such a thing like this ,, my question is when honda is going to come up with something that could fix this issue ,, i am scared to drive this vehicle on vacation because it feels that engine or transmission is going to break a part we need an answer we need something to be done about this not just we are aware of it and that's it ,, that don't help these days. *tr

Vehicle vibrate so hard that you can hear it and feel it. rpm tachometer is below 0.5. took it to back to dealership and they indicate honda know about it, but there is no fix for this issue and i cannot exchange vehicle unless it a trade-in and it will cost me more. honda dealerships knew of this fact, but yet they are allow to sell this vehicle to the consumers without let the consumers know before buying. this is unacceptable to be stuck with a vehicle with this issue. i would to know how to get out of this vehicle without it costing me. *tr

Car hesitates/stalls when making turns.

i bought my honda cr-v 2015 touring model december 15,2014 with 2 miles on it. on my way to work in february i was driving on the highway at about 70mph when all of a sudden i felt a jerk on my car, (i thought it was just wind since we were supposed to have some bad winter weather come through) i looked down and my check engine light came on and the speedometer was going down. i pulled over to the shoulder and put my car in park and turned it off and waited a few minutes, it restarted and everything was fine. it has since happened to me two more times. *tr

May 23rd, 2016 american honda motor co. inc. dear sirs: i would like to call your attention to a chronic problem i have been experiencing with my vehicle. one that in spite of innumerable visits to my local dealer and what would appear to be a serious concern on their part, remains unsolved. the vehicle is a 2015 honda crv, vin # [xxx] purchased from gillman honda in richmond, texas, but serviced locally by victory honda in victoria, texas. the current mileage is that of 9,838 miles. the problem i have encountered is that of a " check tire" message that does not correspond to reality. the signal has turned on, about once a week since i purchased the car. victory honda has examined the car on al least twelve occasions, i have taken it to my tire dealer at least once a month and the source of the problem has not been identified. this has become very annoying, on one hand because i never know the true status of the tires and i have expended a lot of time and have been forced to find another mode of transportation each time the vehicle has been kept at the dealer. i need a solution to this problem, and i need it now! i have done some internet search and i do not seem to be the only owner with such a problem, you have been made aware of the defect and it need this resolved. i would expect attention to this matter, thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The car has a vibration at low speeds, 15 - 20 mph. when accelerating from 35 - 40 mph the car shudders. the dealer said mine was the forth car the had seen with this problem and there is no fix at this time. they took computer snapshots that were sent to honda. the honda regional rep told me that honda knows there is a problem. i have had no communication from honda since feb. 27 2015. i don't know if it is safe to drive this vehicle at freeway speeds. my case number with honda is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I came to a stop and the vehicle started shaking violently. this happened at 2 stop lights. the vehicle had 500 miles on it. subsequently there are various levels of vibration while at stops along with a rough ride. the seats shake along with the entire vehicle. can't get a straight story from honda. everything from working on a fix to it doesn't exist. 2 dealers have acknowledged the issue exists. unfortunately mechanics say it's a huge transmission problem. the vehicle now has 2450 miles on it and i'm afraid to drive it. *tr
